Krautok: 24 hours live electronic music at Maria am Ostbahnhof

The Techno – Hippie Machine – 24 live acts in the jam

Krautok is controlled insanity. One day of non-stop live electronic music, oscillating between Hippie Jam and Techno: the Krautok musicians don´t play one after another, but in a cluster, the transitions between the live acts blending into one another, plugging in and out is always possible. Krautok reflects upon the repetitive electronic music from the 70ties, as well as the Sound of Berlin from the last decade.

In 1995 the first Krautok event took place at „Friseur“ (torn down in 1996) : the Toktok collective joined forces with friends to deliver a 24-hour non stop live act. In 2006 the idea was resurrected successfully, about 20 live acts got together and were rocking the „Osthafen“ club. In 2007 Krautok took place at Tresor, 2008 will be even more colorful and earth shattering, more than 24 live acts will be playing and jamming together at Maria am Ostbahnhof on two stages for 24 hours.

Ten 16 – channel mixers and a MIDI – clock synching it all: Krautok combines the studios of electronic nerds and techno – divas on stage. Unfiltered, direct sound, no detours such as labels, vinyl or Djs. Krautok meanders between Dance Music and Filter Science, electricity paves the way for the sound through cables and mixers to the ears of the ravers, sweat drops on machines, time flies by, but who cares?

V-Records is proud to present this years Krautok event, a 24-hour lasting live set taking place on the 6th of september in Berlin at the Tresor. From 12 pm of the 6th until 12 pm on the 7th of september all the machines and people will make noise & music 24 hours non-stop. Last year was nice, so this year is going to be even nicer!
