Nokia created a buzz with its first 41 megapixel camera phone - 808 PureView, announced last year. The company promised to bring PureView imaging technology to Windows Phone 8 platform this year. That is how we have the Lumia 1020 after the stop-gap attempts to bring PureView imaging through Lumia 920 and Lumia 925. Both the latter devices are capable of offering great images, but Lumia 1020 aims to recreate 808 PureView imaging magic at a grander scale.

Nokia worked closely with Qualcomm over Snapdragon chipset for rewriting the code for PureView imaging for Windows Phone platform. Lumia 1020 packs a refined 41 megapixel camera that promises the pixel oversampling technique and lossless zoom levels achieved through PureView imaging. Nokia has tried its best to give a tribute to 808 PureView via Lumia 1020 with the gradually flourishing Window Phone 8 platform.

Design

Nokia introduced Lumia 1020 with PureView imaging baked into the camera. For those who used the Nokia 808 PureView, the Lumia 1020 seemed similar. However, Nokia surprised everyone with the slim unibody carbonate design of Lumia 1020. This chassis is closely inspired by the Lumia 925 and Lumia 920.
Lumia 1020 measures 10.4 mm in thickness and weighs 158 grams including the non-removable battery and camera. Though it is the flagship Nokia-Windows Phone device, it is still relatively thicker than the HTC One, Galaxy S4, Xperia Z1 and iPhone 5S. The camera module bulge at the back will make it difficult for the phone to lie flat on a surface. However, it is sleeker by miles compared to the Galaxy S4 Zoom.

Keeping aside the circularly large camera module, Lumia 1020 is the reincarnated unibody carbonate design style from the Lumia 925 smartphone. While holding the smartphone with both hands to click an image, the phone appears quite slim and lighter compared to the Lumia 920 smartphone. At the back, it has a slightly bent slope towards each ending, reminding us of the Nokia Lumia 800.

Thankfully, Nokia has used a matte finish polycarbonate body to provide a better grip to hands and fingers while using the Lumia 1020. The device adjusts nicely on the palms but one has to be careful about one's fingers covering the camera lens at the back. Nokia offers the Lumia 1020 in white, black and yellow colours in India.

Display

Lumia 1020 features a 4.5 inch Amoled pentile display with 1280 x 768 pixel resolution. This display has the same pixel density as the Lumia 920 and Lumia 925-334 pixels per inch. The only difference lies in the fact that the Lumia 1020's display has been manufactured using Corning Gorilla Glass 3 technology. That means the display is not only thinner but also stronger and resistant to normal wear and tear.

Even the Lumia 1020 supports PureMotion HD+ technology to make the screen sensitive so that it can be used with gloves on. The PureMotion HD+ technology offers better viewing angles and sharper images while one is scrolling. The contrast and colours will adjust dynamically based on ambient light.

Nokia rightfully implemented ClearBlack technology in the screen to deliver the darkest black by blocking out the reflective light. The contrast and color reproduction of the display are excellent. Even when used in broad daylight, the display does offer great readability. Text appears very crisp and easily readable; images and videos are in vivid and vibrant colours.

Nokia had offered a 4 inch Amoled display but with 640 x 360 pixel resolution, which was quite disappointing at that time. In Lumia 1020, the display size is bumped to a 4.5 inch Amoled with 1280 x 768 pixel resolution which is much better for enjoying high quality images as well as for zooming in on desired portions of the captured image.

Hardware

Nokia has used a dual core 1.5 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Plus mobile chipset with Adreno 225 graphics. This mobile SoC has been paired with 2 GB RAM - double that of Lumia 920 and Lumia 925. This combination of hardware is mostly used in higher than mid range devices running Google Android mobile operating system. However, Windows Phone 8 has been optimized in a way that it runs smoothly and offers decent multi tasking. In fact, the multi tasking is set to improve with the Windows Phone 8 Update 3 expected soon.

Nokia has offered support for quad band HSPA+">HSPA+ networks and also penta band 4G LTE networks for clear voice calls and faster mobile web browsing. Other than that the Lumia 1020 offers dual band WiFi (802.11 a/b/g/n) for quick downloads and web browsing. Nokia has added Bluetooth 3.0 module along with profile support to enjoy stereo quality audio with compatible accessories. There is a Near Field Communication chip with security support. The device offers better location locking through GPS with A-GPS and Glonass.
The software more or less remains the same, ie Window Phone 8 with Lumia Amber build running on top of it. Windows Phone 8 offers the same smooth and slick experience throughout the system. The Amber update brings new goodies such as storage check and new software camera lenses. Nokia has added HERE Maps and HERE Drive+ for the ultimate navigation experience. The quality and accuracy of maps has been improving month on month. Lumia 1020 for India comes pre-loaded with these apps - BookMyShow, Cosmopolitan, Flipkart eBooks and Vyclone. Nokia has also added a variety of camera apps such as Cinemagraph, Creative Studio, Smart Cam and Panorama.

Imaging

Now we shall talk about the most important aspect of the phone, the camera. Nokia has integrated a 41 megapixel camera with PureView imaging technology. The sensor measures 1/1.5 inch compared to the 1/1.2 inch sensor in the 808 PureView. The reduction in sensor size has also affected pixels and thus the Lumia 1020 offers 1.12 micron square pixels compared to the 1.4 micron square pixels offered by 808 PureView. Also, the sensor carries Back Side Illumination profiles to offer better sensitivity, along with optical image stabilization. Nokia in the promotional videos shows how the image sensor carries ball-bearing like cushions under the image sensor for better shock absorption when the camera shakes. In a nutshell, Nokia's intentions were to cram the 41 megapixel sensor into a slimmer package with minimal compromise.
Nokia has used Carl Zeiss optics with a new 6 element lens comprising of five plastic aspheric lens layers and one high precision glass layer. When it comes to aperture, Nokia has moved on to f/2.2 from the f/2.4 in 808 PureView, which means a wider angle to collect more light. Nokia has used dual LED Xenon flash, of which one is for auto-focus assist and the other is useful while recording video.
On the software side, Nokia has added Nokia Pro Cam as the default camera app instead of the native Camera app of Windows Phone 8. The Nokia Pro Cam app offers more manual controls for exposure value, exposure time, ISO, focus and most importantly- white balance. This is exactly what every photography enthusiast will love fiddling around with. The only lacking feature is the manual control over f-stop. Users can change the default app from the settings (Photos+Cameras under Settings).

With the Pro Cam app, Nokia has gone a step ahead of the 808 PureView to offer more manual control on camera settings. That results in fantastic, clear photos compared to what is offered by the top devices from competing handset makers. The OIS in this camera outperforms the one in the Lumia 920. Nokia Pro Cam app offers real-time feedback of the changes made in different options, for instance - focus. The button on the arched slider can be moved to see the changes in focus options. Nokia has implemented a 3A Algorithm in the Pro Cam app - auto white balance, auto exposure and auto focus for the best possible photo results. Even if you click the auto settings you can get a really good image.
Zoom has been reworked on the Lumia 1020 and it still offers lossless Zoom just like the 808 PureView. However, zoom requires the user to set the Capture Mode (in Pro Cam settings) to 5 MP + 34 MP. Only after doing that can the user capture any photo and zoom into the resultant image to crop out unwanted area. Now if the user is not satisfied with that crop or wants to re-adjust, then he does not have to click another image.

With the PureView oversampling technique, the full resolution image is captured as a high quality 5 megapixel image and the user can still zoom in on this high quality image to get a better zoomed in crop. The original image gets saved in full 34 megapixel resolution for the user to adjust the zoom as many times as required.
Basically, frame and re-frame zoomed are on the large image. If zoom is removed, the full scene is visible. The fun part is that Lumia 1020 supports both 4:3 and 16:9 aspect ratio for images so one can easily choose between either for best cropping or zooming. Unfortunately, one can't simply share this full resolution image and it can only be accessed when the phone is connected to a computer.
Lumia 1020 supports a minimal focus distance of 15 cm and therefore great macro shots with more manual controls. The lack of HDR has been replaced with Automatic Bracketing that allows the camera to capture three to five images in a stipulated exposure value range.

The still image quality is stunning with regular 5 megapixel resolution and one has to really work hard to find noise. Full resolution images offer slightly saturated and processed colours with little grains of noise, which is expected. Though Lumia 1020 manages to recreate the magic of 808 PureView, we believe that post capture adjustments (Zoom Reframing) will work for most folks who wish to quickly share good quality photos. But we would recommend that zoom or framing options be chosen appropriately while capturing a desired scene.
While shooting images in full resolution, users will have to grow accustomed to the three to four seconds it takes to store each image. When compared to rival Android or iOS apps, this part slows image capturing speeds. Technically, the S4 Plus can support up to a 20 megapixel camera only but Nokia's rewritten stack of code in the imaging area and Pro Cam manage to manipulate that for PureView imaging.
Despite dual cameras, Nokia PureView imaging does not cover dual camera shot imaging that allows taking images using the front facing and rear cameras at the same time. The lack of Instagram is replaced by GlamMe and users can opt for the 6Tag app from Windows Phone Store. The Microsoft-Nokia team should certainly bring a social image sharing service rival to Instagram so that users can share their images and also make the best of the devices with PureView imaging.
For videos, the phone supports up to 1080p HD quality recording with optical image stabilization and oversampling within the Pro Cam app. Not only that, white balance and focus can be controlled manually while recording the video. 4x zoom while recording a full HD video or 6x zoom for 720p HD video can be accessed with a simple top to bottom slide gesture on the screen. The strategically placed microphones at the top and the bottom support Rich Audio Recording for cancelling ambient noise in loud environments such as concerts. The audio bass filter settings can be used at strong when there is wind or engine noise in the background. The default option offers balanced recording. There is an off option that will result in recording a very flat frequency sound.
Video quality of the Lumia 1020 will blow rival devices out of water with their clarity, dynamic range and flamboyance. The best part is the lossless zoom using pinch or slide down gesture while recording video. The OIS basically absorbs mild jerks and shakes to make video pretty smooth-erratic panning would result in stuttering video quality. If you are serious about photography and videography, this is the camera you should get. The only issue is the lack of a memory card slot for expanding storage.

Multimedia

It is certainly bliss if you happen to purchase the Nokia Music service subscription and enjoy discovering new songs with Nokia Mix Radio. The Music service brings along a large library of tracks that can be streamed or downloaded - do note that Lumia 1020 has 32 GB on-board memory and 7 GB SkyDrive storage. Call it the limitation of Windows Phone 8, the device cannot support a wide variety of audio-video formats like the Android devices. That means you have to be vary of the file type before you load it on the device. The phone offers a decent music player and supports Dolby headphone profile for better audio feedback. The usual 720p HD videos in MPEG-4 format run like a breeze and are more enjoyable thanks to the Amoled display.

What most people miss out on are the Xbox LIVE integration and Xbox management features in the phone. This is missed mostly because not all have an Xbox console at home but those who have one can use the app on the phone to sync content between the console and the phone.

Battery life

Nokia has implemented a unibody design language and added a 2000 mAh battery used in Lumia 920 and Lumia 925 as well. Call it a design limitation, the 2000 mAh battery is simply not enough for a gorgeous display and amazing camera. To make up for that, Nokia offers 1020 mAh additional battery juice with Camera Grip. This Camera Grip comes with a dedicated camera button and is ideal for photographers who want to keep clicking while the phone gets charged. Do note that one has to charge the Camera Grip just like the phone. Lumia 1020 does support Qi wireless charging but only with Camera Grip clamped on the device.
Well, bearing the same battery the Lumia 1020 manages to run for a day with several phone calls over 3G network, browsing the web and social media, clicking a bunch of photos and listening to music for about 40 minutes or so. Battery percentages rapidly dipped when trying to browse the mobile web over the IE 10 mobile browser but not when the music was playing. So on normal usage, the phone lasted for more than a day of a few phone calls, texts and an hour of multimedia.

Though it carries lower battery capacity than rival phones with its 3000 mAh battery, the Lumia 1020 manages to shine its way through the competition. The Windows Phone OS makes up for all its flaws with battery efficiency. Usage would have been more than a day if Nokia had managed to integrate the 2800 mAh to 3000 mAh in the Lumia 1020.

Conclusion

Nokia introduced the Lumia 1020 in India for Rs 49,990 to surprise a lot of people. Due to the festive season, one can enjoy good discounts on this smartphone. Lumia 1020 is the ultimate smartphone for imaging professionals and enthusiasts who love to carry lighter and fewer devices. Not to forget that Lumia 1020 has set the bar higher with the imaging capabilities that will serve consumers for years to come.

Undoubtedly, the Lumia 1020 can be titled as the true Windows Phone 8 flagship. If you believe that the premium price is merely for camera technology, then we assure you that it is totally worth it. Consistent performance and the great camera of this device together make it a worthy package. If you were amazed with what Nokia 808 PureView could do but had second thoughts on the operating system part, then go ahead with the Lumia 1020 for your photography adventures.

Nokia Lumia 520 review

The thing about the Windows Phone platform is that if you’ve seen one, you’ve seen them all. This is good since you get the true feel of the OS no matter which phone you pick. However, this can also be viewed as a negative, since the platform lacks variety across the price range and OEMs can’t really customise the user experience the way they can with Android. This leaves you with a couple of exclusive apps from each brand, but that’s pretty much it. The newly launched Lumia 520 has the potential to really shake things up in the entry-level smartphone segment, not just for Nokia but Windows Phone in general.

Design and build
Available in a variety of colours, the Lumia 520 looks modern and fresh thanks to a soft, matte finish for the entire chassis. The glossy front attracts fingerprints, but it’s not as bad as some of the other phones in this range. Compared to the Lumia 620, which is a few thousand rupees more, the handset is slimmer and lighter, and oddly, feels a lot more premium. The curved back fits snugly in your hand and all the buttons line up with your fingers. The back cover is interchangeable and is a lot simpler to snap on and off as compared to the Lumia 820 or 620. There won’t be any option for a wireless charging cover, but at this price, we don’t think that matters much.

Excellent design and build

The microSIM and microSD card slots are placed beside each other and are hot-swappable. You get a dedicated camera shutter button along with the usual set of buttons. In order to keep the price low, Nokia has had to do away with the LED flash, the front camera and the compass.

Overall, the Lumia 520 is easily one of the best-looking and well-built devices in Nokia’s entire WP8 range, let alone in that particular price bracket. Another good thing about the design is that the headphone jack is not attached to the cover, like the 620, and you’ll be able to buy third party covers as well, which should be a lot cheaper.

We prefer a matte finish back any day of the week

Features
The Lumia 520 sports a larger 4-inch IPS display compared to its slightly more expensive cousin. It doesn't use the ClearBlack technology but uses Super-sensitive touch instead, which allows you to operate it even with gloves on. The display is bright and viewing angles are good, but the colours aren’t very vivid or punchy. This is very noticeable when you place the 520 and 620 side-by-side – the Lumia 620’s display has a much better colour reproduction. Still, for the price it’s really hard to complain. The Lumia 520 is powered by the same Qualcomm MSM8227 SoC used in the 620. This consists of two dual-core Krait CPUs running at 1GHz along with the newer Adreno 305 GPU.

The IPS display is pretty good under various lighting conditions

Media
The Lumia 520 lacks the Dolby headphone enhancement featured in the 620 and above, but despite this, the audio quality through headphones is good. Even at half volume, audio is clear and crisp with a good amount of bass kicking in. We tested this with the Cowon EM1 and not the stock earphones. The volume level through the speaker is pretty good too. With the phone lying flat on its back, alerts can easily be heard. Audio codecs are a bit limited, but that’s something you’ll have to live with. There’s a lock screen widget as well for convenience.

Most of your movies will have to be converted if they aren’t in MP4 as the video codec support is a bit limited as well. The good news is that 1080p MP4 files play just fine without any stutter, which is mighty impressive for an entry-level smartphone.

Full HD playback was a pleasant surprise

Nokia is also throwing in some exclusive offers with the Lumia 520, such as the ability to stream unlimited movies from BIGFlix for the first three months for free. Reliance customers will get 1GB of free 3G for two months. Along with that, WhatsApp and Facebook have been whitelisted during that period, which means all data sent and received from these two apps won’t be counted in your 1GB quota.

Verdict

If you are looking out for a great start for the summer then this is usrely in your list of must watchs. If you are jr NTR fan –then you might already be on your way to see it. But even if your not it is great and interesting.

పవన్ కళ్యాణ్‌ను డ్రైవర్‌గా మార్చిన త్రివిక్రమ్

RGV - The Attacks Of 26/11 Movie Review

Somewhere in re-telling the bloodbath, torrential shower of bullets and bombs that rained down on Mumbai on Nov 26, 2008 a little child sitting lost amidst a carpet of corpses in the posh hotel lobby of the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel weeps on the gleaming white marble floor now reduced to a bloodied mess. We then hear another round of gunfire and then, the child’s weeping ceases.

The way the soundtrack is used to denote unimaginable brutality and violence in that sequence reminded me of the massacre sequence in Ramesh Sippy’s “Sholay”, where Gabbar Singh sadistically raises a gun, points it at a defiant child (Master Alankar) and then the soundtrack cuts to the sound of a train chugging into the railway platform.

Varma, in the finest filmmaking foray of his career since “Satya” and “Company”, offers us no comfort of cinematic licence in “The Attacks Of 26/11″. Not his fault, really. The unspeakably aggravated violence of the events we see unfold in front of our disbelieving eyes happened in, and to, Mumbai just five years ago. Believe it or nuts.

It could happen again. To any city. You or me. That is the terrifying reality that perpetually underlines the gripping narration, clamping the brilliant writing of Rommel Rodrigues down to a whittled numbing sense of hardcore reality where all thrill ends and the feeling of dread begins to creep upon us. We are finally left with only a profound sense of dread and fear.
Welcome to the world of terrorism. The world that we live in.
The volume of research that has gone into the recreation of the events on that fateful night when Mumbai city was under a sanguinary siege, miraculously escapes italicisation in the narration. No aspect of Varma’s storytelling is exaggerated. He displays remarkable restraint even in the way the background music punctuates the relentless violence perpetrated by a handful of self-styled jehadis who crept into Mumbai through water and soaked the city in blood, making sure that the people of this rapidly moving metropolis would never sleep in peace again.
Varma steals our peace for keeps.

While the first hour of the film graphically recreates the violence that Ajmal Kasab and his gang unleashed in various strategic centres of Mumbai, where maximum impact was ensured for their mayhem, the second hour of the dread-filled drama, turns into a riveting ruminative debate between the police commissioner Rakesh Maria (Nana Patekar) and Kasab (Sanjeev Jaiswal). The energetic yet bridled equipoise created between these two polarities of the human existence so effortlessly slips into the zone of a moral debate that we end up listening to echoes of infinite resonance beyond the words that they exchange with such scathing contempt for one another’s moral values.
The dialogues on the relevance and true meaning of the tenets in the Holy Quran between Patekar and Jaiswal simmer with an inner discontent, sparking off a kind of existential turmoil in the narrative and in the audience that takes the narrative way beyond the immediate context of terror and terrorism.
While Nana Patekar displays exemplary austerity over his physical and emotional expression of the anguish that every Indian feels for the humiliation of terrorism perpetrated on 26/11, Sanjeev Jaiswal, though every effective as Kasab tends to go overboard. But then we can’t really expect subtlety of expression from someone who has been brainwashed by his mysterious ‘Aaka’ into believing that killing innocent Indians would fetch him a ticket to paradise.
The extravagant violence is not tampered with, though the vantage points of the terror attacks are whittled down. Varma doesn’t spare us the details of the demoniacal attack on Mumbai city, when a group of armed men killed men women children in luxury hotels and public places.
“Don’t show any mercy to women and children,” Kasab’s colleague counsels before they rain bullets on innocent civilians.
The recreation of the terror attacks on Leopold Cafe, Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus, the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel and Cama Hospital are so chilling in their vivid detailing that we end up watching scenes of violence not for their cinematic element, as much their unflinching affiliation to the actual events.
Full marks to the superlative technical team. Harshad Shroff and M. Ravichandran Thevar’s cinematography captures every moment of the bloodcurdling events with a documentary-like ferocity.

The graphic terror attack sequences are edited (by Sunil Wadhwani and Ajith Nair) in a pattern that replicates the suddenness of the attack. The sound design, and that includes Amar Mohile’s muted but angry background score, doesn’t sound designed. It seems a vocal ‘ear-witness’ to the carnage that unfolds in front of our shocked eyes with unsparing viciousness.
By the time the film’s mordant milieu melts into a chilling climax, we are no longer watching a film. Varma takes his narrative way beyond the semantics of the cinematic language. The merger of recent history of terrorism and the more human drama that underlines the violence is achieved with a muted cry of anguish that any conscientious Indian would hear in the narrative, if he only cares to listen.
RGV compels us to watch and think. What the movie tells us is that the wounds of the night, must not be allowed to heal. Watching the horrific events in this outstanding film is an experience that defies the normal cinematic experience. This is a deviously dramatic and authentic recreation of the ghastly terror attack.
The film’s end-credits roll backwards suggesting that the film imperatively took us back in time to recent history so that we don’t repeat the same mistakes of a lax administration failing to cope with suicidal terror attacks. RGV ends the film with a moving rendering of “Raghupati raghav” in the background as Nana Patekar’s character gazes hopefully into a peaceful ocean.
Nana holds the film together. He feels every line that he utters. His heart bleeds for each one of the 166 people who died on that night.
When he tells Kasab in a choked voice, “I have a son your age”, Nana isn’t faking it. His performance goes way beyond acting.
One of the best films in recent times on the wages of terrorism, and on a par with Katheryn Bigelow’s “Zero Dark Thirty”, “The Attacks Of 26/11″ is a stunning wake-up call for those of us who think Mumbai’s night of terror cannot happen again.
With this one work of riveting resonance, Varma has wiped away the bitter taste of his last half-a-dozen films. Gone is the sluggardness of the ‘rogue technique’ that shook not just the camera, but also the core of this director’s creativity in recent works.

Sunil and Isha Chawla’s ‘Mr. Pellikoduku’ is releasing today. The movie is an official remake of ‘Tanu Weds Manu’ and Devi Prasad has directed the Telugu version. Veteran music director S.A. Rajkumar has composed the film’s music. Mega Supergood Movies banner has produced the film with a decent budget. A premiere show was held yesterday night (Feb 28th) at Cinemax in Hyderabad and we have been to that. Let us see if Sunil strikes with ‘Mr. Pellikoduku’
Story :
Buchi Babu (Sunil) is an NRI who owns a boutique. He returns to India after a gap of six years in order to select a suitable bride from the options shortlisted by his parents (Dharmavarapu Subrahmanyam and Tulasi). His first ‘pelli choopulu’ is with Anjali (Isha Chawla), the daughter of Sugar Subbaraju (Ahuthi Prasad). Buchi Babu instantly falls in love with Anjali and she appears to reciprocate the emotion. The parents are elated.
But Anjali reveals a shocking truth and displays her wild side. A shocked Buchi Babu drops the proposal and goes off in search of other potential bridegrooms. But he can never truly get Anjali out of his heart and mind.
As fate would have it, Buchi Babu’s friend Naayar invites him to Kerala for a wedding and Anjali also happens to come there. Once again, love blossoms in our hero’s heart. With the help of his friend Bachi (Ali), Buchi Babu tries to win back the heart of Anjali.
Will he succeed? Is there someone else in Anjali’s life? That forms the rest of the story.
Plus Points :
Some of Sunil’s dances are superb (Please note the word ‘some’). During some comedy sequences, he tried to bring back memories of a vintage Sunil. Isha Chawla did a good job in the film and she looks beautiful. She has the glamour and the talent to make it big. Her characterization is quite interesting and she has managed to pull it off well.
Ali manages to bring a few smiles. Ravi Babu, Dharmavarapu Subrahmanyam and Ahuthi Prasad are ok. There are some funny moments in the first half. The humorous fight between Sunil and Ravi Babu will be enjoyed by most people.
Some of Sunil’s ‘Pelli Choopulu’ scenes are funny. The ‘Inuparekulu’ serial episode will strike a chord with family crowds.
Minus Points :
Care should have been taken regarding Sunil’s look and appearance in the movie. The hairstyle, the makeup used and the hideous pink lipstick make him look very odd. He had natural charm when he was heavy and one misses the good old Sunil of ‘Dhee’, ‘Sontham’, ‘Manmadhudu’, ‘Santosham’, ‘Nuvvu Naku Nacchav’ etc.
While some of his dances are truly good, some are so bad that they are almost funny. The ‘belt step’ in the second half left me scratching my head.
The movie goes for a toss in the second half. There are just way too many songs and they keep coming in one after the other. And because the songs are atrocious, viewers may experience restlessness.
The sentimental scenes are melodramatic, poorly scripted and lack depth. The cliched dialogues and pathetic background score make things worse. Outdated comedy adds to the misery.
Some of the scenes appear forced and have no proper justification. For example, the shirtless climax fight is very artificial and you can make out that it was inserted solely to show off Sunil’s body.
Tanu Weds Manu worked because of some good music and clever writing. Sadly, both attributes are missing in the Telugu version.
Technical Aspects :
Sameer Reddy’s cinematography is ok. Nandamuri Hari’s editing is not very satisfactory. Music and background score provided by S.A. Rajkumar are huge minus points and they do not lend any strength to the proceedings.
Devi Prasad’s direction is bad. Screenplay could have been a lot tighter in the second half. Dialogues are good only in a few areas.
Verdict :
‘Mr. Pellikoduku’ is a poor remake of ‘Tanu Weds Manu’. Bad Music,outdated sequences and Sunil’s odd makeup are big minus points for the movie. Isha Chawla’s glamour and some humour in the first half may not be enough to save this flick. I am going to watch ‘Sontham’ now to see the good old Sunil in action.

Release Dates of 'Baadshah' - Jr NTR & Sreenu Vaitla Film

Although delayed by a while in release due to over hike in production cost and extended shooting schedules, Junior NTR and Kajal Agarwal starrer 'baadshah' is all set to grace the theatres soon. Producer Bandla Ganesh Babu has officially announced that audio composed by SS Thaman will be launched grandly on March 10 and finally, movie will hit the big screens on April 5th without a missi.

Director Srinu Vytla who is on high with blockbuster 'Dookudu' is confident of ending the rough patch for NTR. In fact, the core team of Kona Venkat, Gopimohan, Srinu Vytla has proved to be a successful trio and care of address for industry hits. In the same way, Nandmauri Fans would love to see Tarak joining the big league of Rs.40+ Crores club with 'baadshah.' Stay tunes for more updates on this flick.

is playing special role in Siddharth’s Jabardasth where she appears in second half of the film.Sri Hari as a don in this film.Vennela Kishore, Duvvasi Mohan and Thagubothu Ramesh are playing comic roles in Jabardasth.

Story:

Jabardasth is the story of two friends, Byreraju (Siddharth) and Shreya (Samantha), who starts a business of Event planning in partnership. Making humble beginnings, they graduate to bigger events and soon, their company, Shreyas Media, becomes a name to reckon with. Their busy work schedules see them spending a good part of their working hours in each other’s company. Shreya falls in love with Byreraju. Byreraju feels money is only thing that keeps them both together.

Seeing Byreraju’s casual attitude, Shreya feels frustrated. Tensions between Shreya and Byreraju build up and ultimately the partnership dissolves. Byreraju starts his own business of wedding planning with Saraswathi (Nithya Menon) even Shreya continues as the owner of Shreyas Media. Both of them fail in their respective businesses as they are both incomplete without the other. Their employees try to bring the two of them together but they fails.

Then, a Don, Javed Bhai (Srihari), calls both of them to jointly plan the wedding of his sister. They refuse to join . While planning this wedding, they realize how good they are together. Byreraju also learns that Shreya is getting married. Does Shreya takes Byreraju’s advice? Does Byreraju understand Shreya’s feelings for him? Will Shreyas Media continue their business? These must be watched on the screen.

The film is heavily ‘inspired’ by Hindi film Band Baaja Baarat ,The director has added completely farcical comedy into the original which doesn’t give any scope for emotion that was present in the original.The first half of the film especially the beginning is very over the top and then after some time it settles into a rhythm. It goes well till interval where it ends on a predictable note. Second half of the film starts interestingly and then gaining momentum with the introduction of characters of Nithya Menon and Srihari. Among the two Nithya Menon portion is good but the Srihari episode ends on a poor note which is followed by a climax that is far from satisfying.
Performances:

After alomost a year Siddarth appeared on screen. His performance was very good and suits well for the character. She is cute and looked pretty on the screen. Her performance is superb as usual. There is no doubt in saying she will play a major part in the movie’s run.
Nitya Menon is good in the little cameo. She looked good and performance is adequate. Srihari in the role of Javed Bhai is good. There are numerous other actors like Thagubothu Ramesh, Dharmavarapu Subrahmanyam, Vennela Kishore and others. They have contributed their parts.
Siddharth so far had restricted himself to only love stories and romantic entertainers. For the first time he had attempted a mass comedy. His attempt should be admired but at they same time the home work is not sufficient. His acting looked artificial at many places.

Final Verdict
Jabardasth has a funny premise but it is not narrated in an attractive manner. Nandini Reddy had shown promise with her earlier movie, Ala Modalaindi, but she loses her ground this time around.
