I visited the light festival again this year. Somewhat less fire and more electrical lights. But the centre piece — pavilion in the pond — was still a sight worth taking out the camera. The photo has been created using HDR and layer blending technique.

It was a mighty sight in Tenerife to see the ocean hurl its waves to the rocks. Some waves were big enough to splash you soaking wet and almost drag you along. Makes you feel small.

A Walk In The Woods

There is something eerie yet fantastical about the woods and the night. Many fairytales entail this kind of scenery, many horror stories have this kind of a setting. But this can also be a magical place with fairies and pretty lights (which can also be a part of a horror story, right?). Anyway, setting up a few candles amidst the dark can bring some much longed fantasy into play and oh what fun it is to take out your camera to capture it all!

Winter Fairytale

I have always wanted to do such a shoot where in a wintery scenery I will use a lantern on a picture — a lantern my passed grandfather gave me as a present. So finally I did it. With lots of candles, lots of pictures and processing — HDR as a basis and some manual processing to match everything together. This kind of low light scenery is really at the limit (if not to politely say over it) of my old trusty camera but I hope the end result will still portray what I had in my mind — a winter fairytale with a modern twist.
