Garage Floors - Tips To Improve The Floors

Its been few years since I bought my present house. I did a recent renovation to the interiors and it took some good amount of time to do it. I haven't still touched the garage though. You see, I don't maintain my garage as much as I wish to. You can see lots of stains in the garage, and some part of the floor are even broken.

One of the first thing that came to my mind for renovating the garage floors is by applying a coat of Concrete Polyurethane. I have seen my neighbor doing it. He has hired a polyvac sander to clean up the whole mess in his garage. That guy did a wonderful job of sanding the concrete garage floor with med grit paper back.

Once sanding is done, a skim coat of feather finish is applied at the top. There were no holes in the floor, so there is no need to fill the gaps. The work was really pretty good and I liked the way the floor looks now.

I think its a dream come true. Just few years back, if I bought the computer with the same configuration as this, it would have cost me more than $1000. But now things are looking pretty good, thanks to mass adoption of computers in homes.

I really started to wonder what took them so long to do this. eBay has announced that they have integrated the Skype services in the seller's webpages so that the clients who are interested in the products, can click it and start talking will the seller.

I think its a good service that adds value to the customers. It will solve lots of genuine questions that the customers might have. Please note that eBay used to have the Skype button integration on select categories. The announcement happened recently marks the sitewide launch of Skype integration.

So if the customers doesn't have a Skype profile, they can always register and start talking. More Skype customers will lead to more satisfied customers.

Decent URL - Make Your Web Address Understandable

If you are into Affiliate marketing, you would have come across the URL shortening service. There are plenty in the market like tinyURL, snipURL etc. What these does is, take a long URL and create a shortened version of it.

This is actually quite useful in different situations. Lets say that you want to Twitter an URL. You cannot exceed more than 40 letters (I think...) in the URL. How would you tackle this. Its easy. Make your lengthy URL and create an alternative shortened URL and you can twitter now.

Similarly, in the affiliate marketing, you don't want to expose your affiliates by putting in the lengthy and spammy looking URLs. Just shorten it and use it.

But the problem is, you will have to accept the random characters in the alphabets in the URL. Now is there a way to avoid it? Thanks to DecentURL, now you can. Instead of letting the system to select the random URL, you can type in the text and the system creates a meaningful URL.

Since WordPress does something like this, why would you want another one? You can use this service to give a different meaning to the same base URL.

Hulu Launched Private Beta - Over 90 TV Shows Are Available

When it comes to online video sharing websites, Youtube is the best, at least as of now. The dominance of Joost, the people behind Skype is yet to make significant effect on Youtube. The technology from Joost is much different than YouTube. Joost follows the model of having the software on your own computer which can be connected to receive the shows.

But with the recent private beta launch of Hulu, from the big guys (NBC and News Corp), things are taking a different perspective. First, the content were legally distributed since they were the owners of the content. Now people don't have to go to YouTube for watching their favorite shows like Heroes etc. They will find the content on Hulu, and that too of high quality.

Hulu said that they have over 90 shows ranging from Heroes, Simpsons, Miami Vice etc on their collection. Do you think bigger websites share link love easily to all of the smaller ones? As the websites grow and become famous, they try to find ways to minimize the links going out. They are under the fear that it might get them affected negatively by the search engines.

But Yahoo is planning to change all that. They are introducing linky love to websites both big and small which can handle the traffic that Yahoo can deliver. Looks pretty interesting to me. If there is any popular major acquisition happened online, then I would say Skype has initiated that kinds of deal to start with. Why Google Couldn't Compete With Baidu In China

With billions of people and a good percentage of them online, the Internet websites were popular than ever in China. People like lots of anime characters, blogging, music and stuff.

Baidu is a popular search engine in mainland China. Even though Google entered the market for quite some time, it couldn' t really compete with Baidu for couple of reasons: Baidu indexes lots and lots of illegal music which Google cannot / refuse to do, and also it needs to comply with the regulations of both US and China sometimes.

Only if the laws of China changes so that Google can become a level player in the indexing market.
