Inexpensive

Timeshares do cost thousands of dollars upwards when buying them straight from the developer. However, the reason for these high costs is that you are basically buying a lifetime of vacations in a bulk quantity. People buy timeshares even though they cost so much up-front because when breaking down the price of the timeshare with respect to the cost of vacations over a complete lifetime, a timeshare is much more cost-effective. While a timeshare maintenance fee does exist and can pull a few people away, these are important to update the resort, take care of the essential amenities such as pools, restaurants, fitness centres, etc. and even pay the resort employees. If there is a year when you decide not to use the timeshare, you can always rent it out to someone else to cover the annual dues.

Timeshare Points Vs Fixed Week

A ‘Fixed Week’ in timeshare refers to owning a certain week at a certain resort every single year. The timeshare industry has greatly moved towards membership based on points for owners. In the case of points, you will be eligible for a vacation at a home resort every year or use the allotment of the year for other resorts within the brand’s portfolio itself. Hospitality companies such as Hilton Grand Vacations Club give their timeshare owners a deeded interest at one of their resorts which can be used as a Fixed Week ownership or converted into Hilton Points that can be used at other HGVC resorts.

Timeshare Vs Hotel Room

While on vacation with grown-up kids and extended family members, you might have to book multiple, cramped rooms and make sure that everyone knows which floor everyone is on. This can be a pretty hectic event when planning an outing. Timeshare resorts are well known for providing one, two or three-bedroom units which can comfortably accommodate large families or travel parties. With a timeshare, there is no need to worry about coordinating everyone’s hotel rooms or getting stuck inside a cramped space.

Vacation Clubs Vs Timeshares

Even though the terms vacation club and timeshare are used interchangeably in advertising and conversation, and pretty much mean the same thing, they can be broken down by some minor differences. Vacation clubs are typically provided by brands, such as Marriott Vacation Club or Holiday Inn Club Vacations. Such brands offer timeshare points, which can be used in exchange for locations other than the Home resort. When you own a vacation club membership like Marriott or Holiday Inn, you will be given access to other resorts within the portfolio of the club, not just one. It is just like owning a timeshare but now comes with better flexibility and freedom.

A timeshare is a property in which several parties hold rights to use a particular property, and each member or sharer is allotted a certain period of time, typically about one week, which is almost the same time each year in a fixed package as well as a week which they choose in floater package; in which they might use the property. The membership fee can cost Rs 1 lakh and upwards and the annual cost of maintenance about Rs 10,000 or higher depending on the type of package you have taken up with the timeshare company. A person can also sell the share to others if they do not want to hold it anymore. However, the member does not have any claim regarding the ownership of the property—E.g. Sterling Holiday Resorts, Club Mahindra, Country Club etc.

The timeshare market has been growing at a rate of 20% compound annual growth rate (CAGR) over the course of the past several years according to the chairman of All India Resort Development Association (AIRDA) Ramesh Ramanathan. The top priorities of the industry include increasing transparency and improving consumer satisfaction.

Many travel enthusiasts assume that a membership such as this will make their travel plans easier since they already have a list of destinations they can choose from and the accommodation has already been paid for. However, in actuality, the rooms are not always available at the dates the people want. If they want to go on such an impromptu holiday, getting a hotel to stay at can be difficult, because the rooms may be full.

Interestingly, good holiday deals are a very important motivation for customers casually surfing online. If offered a considerable discount for a short time period, almost 36% of consumers reported that they were willing to make unplanned trips.

India currently boasts of 80 resorts, 20 lakh memberships and 40 timeshare companies. The main reason why timeshares are still only catching up is because of the steep annual maintenance charges.

Here is a simple example demonstrating the usefulness of timeshares. The rates in five-star hotels and properties range from Rs 10,000 to Rs 12,000 per day, or Rs 70,000 to Rs 85,000 per week. Now suppose that a timeshare member pays Rs 2.5 to Rs 3 lakh for membership and gets an offer for 30 holidays of seven days each extended over 30 years, the cost reduces to Rs 10,000 for a week’s holiday in a year, which is just a fraction of what would have to be paid otherwise.

The current packages usually start at Rs 3.37 lakh for a family of four with the minimum down payment being Rs 50,550; monthly instalments depending on the number of years you opted for to pay the remaining amount. The membership begins after meeting the minimum payment as specified. The annual maintenance rates are a bit high, starting at Rs 13,000 and upwards based on the package opted for.

We received a great letter today from one of happy customers who bought a “Vacationer” camper from us a year ago

This is part of their letter

“In addition to a couple of smaller trips, we have had a great 2 month 7,500 klm trip which took in NSW East Coast, around to Victoria, South Australia and South West Queensland. The Camper went fantastically well over the 7,500 klms and we hardly knew we were towing it. We went over very rough terrain with no trouble or incident and through heaps of bulldust, again, no problem. We were impressed. The gazebo was worth its weight in Gold. Likewise our cafe curtain in wet weather. It was a pleasure to cook, and even the washing up wasn’t an issue especially with the clear section on the Kitchen wall, allowing plenty of light under the Annexe. I am glad we had the reading lights fitted over the bed and the slide-in step up to the Bed is so stable and safe.”

We love to hear stories like this. If you send your pics in, we are happy to put them up on our Blog too

Whether this is your first outdoor vehicle, or you’ve bought a camper trailer before, you know it’s a significant investment so you don’t want to make a mistake.

That’s why you do your homework. You might attend trade shows, talk to private sellers or visit workshops or factories (or visit websites like ours).

But even after all this homework, you might still feel worried…

Because there’s only so much you can find out in the showroom. Like a new car or a new pair of shoes, you only discover whether your camper passes the test once you get it into the great outdoors!

That’s why you’ll get some real peace-of-mind from this “Tick the box” checklist from Vacation Campers…

BEFORE you buy, download this list. It reveals essential insider secrets that you MUST know to feel really confident when you buy a camper trailer.

Unfortunately, some manufacturers don’t want you to have this information.

Why now?

Because if you knew the difficult questions you REALLY had to ask to ensure you were getting the best camper possible, most manufacturers WON’T pass the test!

Give it a go. Take this checklist with you if you are going to look at a trailer that isn’t a Vacation Camper, and see if it passes the test. It’s likely that you won’t be able to tick many of these boxes!

How can we feel so confident?

Because at Vacation Campers, we KNOW we’ve crafted a quality camper trailer that does justice to your investment, and keeps you and your family safe and comfortable.

We’ve carefully considered every part of these campers.

We could have chosen cheaper materials.

We could have “done the same as everybody else” when crafting the campers.

We could have charged ‘extra’ for the special features we’ve added.

But we didn’t.

Instead, we craft every Vacation Camper as if WE were the customer, NOT as if we were trying to lower our manufacturing costs.

Campers across Australia choose Vacation Campers because they know this is an investment they will never regret-one that will have a long and solid life-span. Everything you’re about to read will show you just why we feel so confident about how good our campers are.
