One day some time ago, Bad Clever Scientist existed. Bad Clever Scientist is too long a name - let's just call him Dr B.

Dr B wanted to fool a mind.

This is what he did. You see Dr B was able to create real minds with real lives. He would get them to live a day or two, give them an id and memories, any memories at all that he liked. These memories were so useful that they could be converted into working skills, living skills, even for the day or so they lived.

The Strange Case of the ZX81

Once upon a time, a country far, far away, there lived a computer known as the ZX81.

The ZX81's relationship with the world was through a cassette tape recorder. Whenever the recorder was plugged into the ZX81, it would see all the wonderful things in the world, and when the ZX81 wanted to store its thoughts, it would output them into the world, through the tape for dissemination and later recollection.

Mooji and the Sound of Wood Chopping

Mooji speaks.

He speaks. As he speaks there is a repeated chopping sound in the background. We can't see what it is, but it sounds like the chopping of wood, so we will call it the sound of wood chopping.

THWACK, THWACK, THWACK, ...

Annoying, isn't it? Irritating, intruding into the conversation, distracting our attention. Why doesn't Mooji say - "someone stop that noise - whatever it is can wait!!"? After all it is Mooji, HE is Mooji.

He continues his message, the sound goes on.

We all have a sense of time. A sense of time underpins all our perceptions. A sense of the relevance of time underpins all our values. Our values rest in a matrix of our sense of time.

The traditional belief is that light shines on objects, is reflected of those objects into our eyes, and from stimulation of certain parts of the brain via the optic nerve we see the images that the creator God wishes us to see.

The Srimad Bhagavatam has an interesting chapter about the nature of the ego and identity, described in a story about a contest of power between Krishna and the Creator God, Brahma. There is no need to repeat it here, as you've probably read it. It is available online at krsnabook.com

Krishna's ability to manifest himself in the forms of the gopas and calves is expressed. But what about the unexpressed part?

Whose sense of I, present and past, became her? The original had died years ago, but someone became the I of her deceased person, someone whose sense of ego pertinence, feelings, memories, thoughts, concerns, was her, yet was not her?

The Oneness and the Blissfulness of the Stilled Mind

This sequence of verses and video comes from Jill Bolte Taylor's descriptions of her experience, and from the verses of the Bhagavad Gita, particularly in the second half of Chapter 6 where Krishna, in describing the process of meditation, defines what Yoga is, which is more or less what Dr Taylor recounts.

The state she describes is Yoga (Union), and all the other practices which are also called yoga, bhakti yoga, ashtanga yoga, jnana yoga, and others all aim to culminate in that state.

I have been thinking, perhaps Krishna is a myth and has never existed at all. There is no Krishna and there has never been any Krishna. There is only Brahman. Brahman is what we worship.

The sages and seers of ancient India wanted to express their thoughts about the nature of human consciousness, so they came up with a story with a boy named Krishna as the central character in that story.

I have been thinking about Picard in The Inner Light and wondered what it would be like if the event happened in his infancy.

Imagine he is less than a year old. The probe transports him into another life where he is the same age, and has a new mother and a new family. He grows up into adulthood, has a family and becomes a grandparent. He dies, the whole event took all of 20 minutes and his consciousness returns back to his original consciousnesss, back to the same age and same family.

This website is in its third years now, and was originally built in Drupal 5.

I have now upgraded to Drupal 6 and I aim to improve in a way that befits a site about God.

I have also added a link for donations. At least that will give some idea about how well the content is appreciated.
