Valentine has been in Canada for a few months now. She has learnt to crawl, stand, walk, climb the stairs and come down from a settee in that time. Here are some photos:

Almost Crawling

Valentine has been moving forward on her arms and legs… almost by accident really. She’s trying to get up on her legs to walk like the rest of us, but of course isn’t quite managing. Nevertheless it’s a super achievement for her to be in this position.

Soon enough she’ll figure that she can crawl on her hands and knees and follow Eleanor about. Then she’ll have so much fun!

Valentine has a tooth!

Valentine’s first tooth appeared this afternoon. After several weeks of increasingly intense drooling and an incredibly high temperature last night, a little white tooth has popped through her gum.

It’s located in the bottom right hand side of her front teeth. You can feel it, it’s hard and see a little bit
of white popping through.

She was so excited that we discovered her new tooth that she couldn’t fall asleep and spent hours talking about it this evening.

One thing is for sure, she loves eating with us and taking part in dinner time. This can also include talking – she really likes to let us know her opinion and is almost saying “Maman” now.

Spring is in the air so Valentine and Eleanor are spending as much time in the garden as possible. Valentine really loves the fresh air and Eleanor is having a lot of fun peddling her bicycle and using her slide.

Valentine is almost able to stay sat up by herself for long periods of time. Just a few more weeks and she’ll be there, but already she can play more easily and is happily rediscovering her toys.

Valentine’s First Vegetables

Today, Valentine shared some of her Daddy’s soup. It’s been a week or two that she’s been really curious about our food so today we decided we let her try some. So she had a couple of baby spoons of vegetable soup with fresh herbs. Yummy, definitely more to come!

Valentine is four months old

Valentine is four months old now and has growing really big! She’s tall for her age and is nearly too long for the maxi-cosi. She’s making longer and more complex phrases and can hold her head up really well.She loves you to help her stand up and build up those leg muscles.Nights are going well and she’s still sleeping though most of them, apart from waking up from time to time to eat of course! Today, Valentine and her sister went to the park at Tervuren (see the photographs) and had a wonderful walk on what was the nicest day of the year so far!

It’s been a few days now that Valentine has started to talk! Of course, these are just some small step, but she’s starting small, probably to talk big. Her favourite talking position is stood up, which she’s also been doing recently too…Saint Nicolas came on 6th December and now of course we’re all waiting with baited breath for Father Christmas….
