The Good Things from 2013 Yamaha New Vixion

As we have seen before, a few weeks ago, Yamaha Motorcycles Indonesia has introduced the all new Vixion to the market, this is a good new for 150cc street bike lover who planed to buy a 150cc bike. So what is the good things from the 2013 Yamaha New Vixion generation?

A few days ago and also until right now, the topic of new Vixion 150 motorcycle from Yamaha is being hotly discussed, after along long times never getting a significant changes, Yamaha Indonesia finally gives many ultimately changes and total new appearance to the new Vixion, not only just the color and new tagline changes, but it gives a lot of Yamaha Vixion plus points including some parts.

Almost touching the word "perfect", I said like that because this motorcycle now appear more modern and looks more elegant, deficiencies have been repaired. There are many things that I love from the New Vixion, including the use of larger tires, followed by a wider wheels, rear disc brake, new ignition position, new rear brake lights, and also completed with new gas tank. All of that makes the new Vixion 150 looks perfect, but there is new thing from new gen of Vixion that I don't like, that is the design of new headlmap which it look less than sporty looks.

Lets look closer, all parts of new Vixion been perfect, but the headlights look less than sporty style, Yamaha should better give a sharper headlights like the earlier Vixion headlight/ 2nd gen of Vixion (the first generation Vixion using the round headlights). Oh yeah I have to tell you that Yamaha also need to give a new engine cover to make this bike perfect.

That's all, the good thing from the all new 2013 Vixion are :

Greazz - First thing i’m French so sorry for my bad english. I buy this XS stock about one year ago with the engine rebuilt. All the parts atr home made by me, the frame, the tank, the oil tank (for electrical ), the rear fender with the seat, the handle bar, the fork cover, and many many other thing!

I had to paint the frame black and all the rest stay like it is. The fork come from a Sportster HD, the front drum from a old Honda 350 CB, I put an electronic ignition that realy better for kick start !

What else ?….nothing ! or just only one thing, 4 pics are not enought for you to see all little things – but i hope you like it as much i like to ride it !! Mr Greazz.

After less than a week off, riders were back out on track for the first free practice of the bwin Grand Prix České republiky at Brno, where it was Repsol Honda Team’s Dani Pedrosa who threw down the gauntlet ahead of Jorge Lorenzo and Andrea Dovizioso.

As the MotoGP™ grid took to the popular Brno track it was a tight affair, as Pedrosa was just over one tenth ahead of Yamaha Factory Racing’s Lorenzo. Monster Yamaha Tech3’s Andrea Dovizioso, who has proven to be a very strong contender on his satellite Yamaha, was less than a tenth behind the Spaniard. His early form, and the fact the Repsol’s Casey Stoner is missing the event, already make him a possible contender for yet another podium this season.

His teammate Cal Crutchlow will however look to spoil the party as he hunts his first ever step on the rostrum. The Brit was on the pace this morning finishing in fourth, narrowly ousting Yamaha factory rider Ben Spies into fifth. Spies will be hoping to avoid any mechanical failures, which have put paid to his last two races. San Carlo Honda Gresini’s Álvaro Bautista left it late to post his fastest time in sixth, as the Spaniard looks to build on his good result in Indianapolis last time out.

Ducati Team’s Valentino Rossi, a seven times winner at the track, put his Desmosedici in seventh place, ahead of LCR Honda MotoGP’s Stefan Bradl, who will no doubt be disappointed with his morning outing. Power Electronics Aspar’s Randy de Puniet was the highest placed CRT in ninth, followed by Avintia Blusens’ Yonny Hernandez in tenth, despite the Columbian crashing out of the session with 12 minutes to go.

There was also a crash early on for Came IodaRacing Project’s Danilo Petrucci, with the Italian fortunately walking away unscathed. The session was red-flagged briefly half way through, as loose debris was cleared from the final turn. Pedrosa’s foot was hit by some debris kicked up by Rossi’s bike early in the session, causing the Spaniard to limp slightly as he returned to the pits.

The MotoGP World Championship arrives in Laguna Seca for the Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix with a number of big name riders looking to make a point.

From the top of the championship tally to riders shockingly low on the order, Laguna Seca stands as an opportunity to signal intentions moving forward.

Dani Pedrosa

Dani Pedrosa long held the distinction of being Honda's 'golden boy,' dating back to the days when HRC designed a new racebike from the ground up to fit his diminutive stature even when his teammate was bearing the #1 plate.

However, Pedrosa's star has waned somewhat as of late. While clearly one of the series' elite, he hasn't been able to take the next step to elevate his game to that elusive Valentino Rossi-Jorge Lorenzo level. Making matters worse, he was clearly outshone when Casey Stoner was slotted in beside him at Repsol Honda last season and the Australian promptly powered away with his second world title -- a feat that has thus far eluded Pedrosa.

At risk of being pushed aside with HRC with Stoner ruling and Marc Marquez ascending, things have shifted back in Pedrosa's direction as of late. Stoner's shock retirement announcement cemented the Spaniard's future with Repsol Honda and on track Pedrosa has stepped forward as well.

Finding his groove at just the time that Stoner has encountered struggles, Pedrosa is now Jorge Lorenzo's closest challenger in the points table. And with an all-new RC213V at his disposal (one that Stoner has only accepted in part), Pedrosa is in with a chance to really up the chase.

Pedrosa's point to prove? He needs to show that he's ready to finally erase the somewhat backhanded complimentary title of 'best racer never to win the MotoGP World Championship.'

Dani goes well here and in fact stands as the only non-MotoGP champ to take a victory here in the modern era. A win at Laguna Seca this weekend would further up the heat that Pedrosa is applying on Lorenzo in the developing '12 championship fight.

Yamaha Factory Racing riders Jorge Lorenzo and Ben Spies arrive in California this week to prepare for the first of the season’s two US rounds, Sunday’s Grand Prix of the USA at the Laguna Seca circuit. Championship leader Lorenzo is traditionally strong at Laguna, taking victory from pole in 2010 and second from pole in 2011. A huge crash last year the day before the race left Lorenzo with reduced energy levels, possibly denying a second successive victory. With a 19 point gap over closest rival Dani Pedrosa, this weekend will be key in extending the lead.

Texan Ben Spies arrives for his first US race of the season hoping the home crowd will be the lucky talisman he needs to get his Championship back on track. Spies has a strong record at Laguna as a three-time AMA race winner there. He scored sixth on his first MotoGP outing and bettered it again last year, finishing just off the podium in fourth.

Situated amongst the hills just a couple of hours from San Francisco, The Laguna Seca circuit claims jaw dropping elevation changes and possibly the most famous corner in the racing world, the infamous ‘corkscrew’. Weather can be unpredictable with cold misty mornings followed by dry hot days providing exciting racing for the American fans.

Hopefully we can continue to do this here to extend the lead a little more. I have always had great races here in Laguna in MotoGP and always finish on the podium. The BMW Motorrad Italia GoldBet Superbike Team has completed the first on-track session at Toeele’s Miller Motorsports Park, the circuit hosting the sixth round of 2012 World Superbike season. Michel Fabrizio and Ayrton Badovini finished Qualifying 1 with a thirteenth and a fourteenth place respectively, while in Free Practice 1 they were eleventh and fourth. The morning’s torrential rain forced both riders to ride on a wet track, while in the afternoon the bettering of the weather – except for a very strong wind that blasted on the track – made Qualifying 1 a dry session.

The improved conditions allowed Michel Fabrizio and Ayrton Badovini to test as previously planned, which included the evaluation of new parts and set-up. These new solutions were not satisfactory for the two riders, who tomorrow will get back on the BMW S 1000 RR with its previous configuration, as used from Assen onwards. At the end of the 45 minute qualifying session Michel Fabrizio finished with a thirteenth place and a lap time of 1’50.877 just ahead of Badovini, who was fourteenth with a lap time of 1’51.042. Both riders got positions inside the top-16. The final list of riders gaining access to Superpole will be decided in tomorrow morning’s Qualifying 2.

“Today we had some new parts to be tested which, unfortunately, we couldn’t do it in the morning due to the rain. We then spent most of the afternoon session on the trial and the feedback we got wasn’t what we were hoping for. Daytona SportBike Miller Race Results 2012

Geico Suzuki’s Martin Cardenas took the AMA Pro Go Pro Daytona SportBike win at Miller Motorsports Park. Team Latus Motor’s Jason DiSalvo came in second just fractions of a second behind the Colombian rider. Yamaha Extended Service’s Cameron Beaubier rounded out the podium in third. The win marks the Suzuki rider's 22nd AMA Pro win and 50th win for Team Hammer in AMA Pro Racing.

DiSalvo held the lead for most of the race and had to fight off Beaubier for much of that time. The Yamaha rider was even able to take the lead briefly in Lap 3 and Lap 6, but was unable to hold DiSalvo from pushing back to the front. All the while Cardenas maintained pace with the two in third place. Beaubier dropped back with seven laps to go and it then became a heated contest between Cardenas and DiSalvo for the lead. The Triumph ace kept the Colombian at bay until the final lap when Cardenas closed the 0.525 second gap and passed DiSalvo in the final corner for the win. Beaubier and Ducshop Racing’s Jake Zemke fought a similarly close battle as the two riders traded third position a number of times before the finish.

"At first, I think all of us were pushing hard, but not in excess. Then Jason got up front, and he put his head down and gapped us a bit," said Cardenas. "I was planning to make my move at the hairpin but it didn't work out and I thought the race was lost then because he was very fast in the last sector. I got a very good drive, and we went side to side and I braked as hard as I could and passed him."

"That was a tough one, leading so many laps and then it coming down to the last few corners and then losing out," said DiSalvo. "I felt pretty happy with the race. I didn't leave anything on the table, and it came down to the last section. I was a little bit bummed about the lappers, and it's hard to say whether I would have been able to answer back to Martin's pass."

Beaubier rode the day with a non-race injury and showed he is able to contend with the front runners. The Yamaha rider mentioned later that he had burned up his tire in the beginning after pressing hard to pass DiSalvo and was able to keep pace later on in the race.

Cardenas remains first in overall points, now 31 points ahead of Y.E.S Graves Yamaha's Tommy Hayden. The Yamaha rider had a difficult day at Miller, finishing in ninth. DiSalvo lags behind Hayden by just one point in third place.

AMA Pro National Guard Superbike also ran on Sunday to determine the qualifying order for Monday's race. Monster Energy Graves Yamaha's Josh Hayes took pole position from rival Blake Young of Yoshimura Racing by a mere 0.412 seconds. In addition to earning pole position, Hayes also set the fastest lap time of any AMA Pro National Guard Superbike at Miller in history at 1'49.729.

Team Amisol/Hero's Geoff May came in third and Team Hero's Danny Eslick grabbed fourth, putting the two EBR 1190RS riders in prime position to earn podiums at Miller.

WSBK 2012 DONINGTON: GOLDBET ITALIA RACEDAY REPORT

BMW Motorrad Italia GoldBet Superbike Team completed the fifth round of 2012 World Superbike season. Michel Fabrizio and Ayrton Badovini finished race 1 with a 10th and 11th place, while in the second race they crossed the line in 13th and 6th respectively. Sunday’s first SBK race started at noon on a dry track. Michel Fabrizio, who started from 11th on the grid was 12th at the end of lap one, maintained a consistent race pace during the first half of the race before the pain in his right limited his performance for the remaining laps. He was the 10th rider to take the chequered.

Ayrton Badovini, had a small collision with Jakub Smrz at turn 1 and consequently lost positions and found himself 18th at the end of the first lap. Once “Speedy” got back into his rhythm, he managed to make a comeback to an eleventh final place. The race was won by Marco Melandri, BMW Motorrad Motorsport Team rider, which brought the first podium top step for the BMW S 1000 RR. Melandri finished ahead of his team mate Leon Haslam in second, therefore bringing not just the maiden victory for the German manufacturer in the Superbike World Championship but also a ‘1-2’ finish.

Michel Fabrizio jump-started race 2 and therefore the “Gladiator” was awarded a ride-through penalty. Michel rode through the pit-lane at the end of lap 4, getting back on track in twentieth position and finishing the race with a thirteenth place.

Ayrton Badovini, who made a fairly good start from the third row, kept his race pace and, despite suffering from early wear of the soft front tyre, finished sixth.

I’m not demoralised. I will be more charged up than ever for the US round.”

”Race 1 started uphill after the collision at the start. That cost me a lot of time and forced me into a catch-up race. For race 2 we tried a soft front tyre but it wore out as soon as we got into the second part of the race, so I raced conservatively to get the best result possible. No more for Kawasaki Ninja 150 M !!, that's all right, after all of this time presented by Kawasaki Motorcycles Indonesia (KMI) into the Ninja 150cc line-up, Kawasaki finally has stopped the Ninja 150 M production. Actually, there is no Kawasaki confirmation about it but I thing this is the right time to stop the Ninja 150 M series production, why? it's all because the prices of Ninja 150M and Ninja 150L/N is not so different, so many of Ninja 150 buyer have chosen the L series and not for M series.

Truly, I hate to write about this news, while many of Kawasaki 2-strokes lover who have limited budget and want to buy the lowest Ninja 150cc 2-strokes type, Kawasaki now has destroyed their dream with this news, well Ninja 150cc lover must have more money to get the lowest Ninja 150 type now by buying Ninja 150N series. Guys, last weeks, I have visited the Kawasaki dealer in the area of west Java, after seeing the bikes in there, I did not find the Kawasaki Ninja 150 M type, I just found the Ninja 150L, Ninja 150N, and the all new Ninja 150RR 2012 edition, it seems that Kawasaki has completely remove the Ninja 150 M type from Ninja 150cc list.

Not all the Kawasaki 2-stokes liked the Ninja 150R (L/M) type which it has comes with sport cast-wheels and clip-on handle-bar, including me, in my opinion, the Kawasaki Ninja 150 M type is beautiful looks appears for racing style, it has comes with spokes wheels, higher handle bar position with touring handle-bar type, and rounded main-lamp on the front side and you will get many comfortable ride experience with it.

Is Kawasaki ER-5 Good Enough as First Bike?

Is Kawasaki ER-5 good enough as first bike? this is one of many question that I often found when I visited Kawasaki motorcycles forums also at motorcycles forums. First, you have to know that Kawasaki motorcycles has discontinued the Kawasaki ER-5 series and it has replaced with the new one, ER-6n, so if you want to but the ER-5 as your first bike, you can get it from used motorcycles stores only. Okay back into the topic, Kawasaki ER-5 is not a full sport-bikes and it has designed for street bikes, the style and power of ER-5 is good enough for "first bike hunter", so if you asking "Is Kawasaki ER-5 good enough as first bike?" my answer is "Absolutely Yes", why? let see together.

Based from average Kawasaki ER-5 edition, this bike has 179Kg of dry weight and 800 mm of seat height, both of the value are friendly for beginner motorcycles rider, almost the same with Ninja 250r beginner motorcycles, Kawasaki ER-5 also produces a medium engine performance, it has 50.3 PS @9,000 rpm of maximum power while the Ninja 250R about 27PS-30PS of max power, it's friendly motorcycles engine performance for beginner motorcyclist.

TRIUMPH DAYTONA 675 SULPHUR YELLOW FOR 2012

The current generation Triumph Daytona 675 is at the end of its lifecycle, as a new three-cylinder supersport is expected to debut from the British brand later this fall. Accordingly, Triumph is keen on clearing out its inventory of Daytona’s, and has put together the 2012 Triumph Daytona 675 Sulphur. In addition to the new paint and matching pin-striped wheels, the sulfur yellow D675 gets new carbon fiber exhaust heat shield, cockpit infills and front fender like those on the Daytona 675R. The sulfur yellow model gets a quickshifter and billet levers.

The 2012 Triumph Speed Triple is also getting the same sulfur yellow paint scheme, but not the other upgrades. The Bonneville SE is also getting a new Imperial Purple and white paint option. The new colour variant also gets revised engine cooling fins and a Triumph badge in place of the regular tank logo decal. Triumph also gave the Thruxton a new Brooklands Green color while the Scrambler will also be available in Matt Graphite.

Triumph’s cruiser line also gets new color options starting with a new Caspian Blue/Phantom Black and Marble Red Haze versions of the Thunderbird. All two-tone Thunderbirds will also receive matching two-tone front fenders. The Thunderbird Storm also gets a new Matt Graphite paint job. The Speedmaster and America cruisers also get new colours, as well as revised engine cooling fins. The 2012 Triumph Speedmaster gets two new options, Matt Black and Sapphire Blue/Jet Black. Triumph is dropping the previously-announced Caribbean Blue/White version of the America and replacing it with a Sapphire Blue/White colour.

“Our design team is constantly listening to customer feedback and watching trends to assess and re-evaluate the color schemes across our range to reflect what today’s riders want,” says Guy Master, general manager of Triumph UK. “The new designs for 2012 will feed into our dealer network from May onwards and we really hope they will inspire riders to get out there and enjoy a great summer of riding.”

In Conversation with Casey Stoner

Reigning MotoGP world champion, Casey Stoner is probably the fastest man in the world on two wheels right now. And he doesn't mince words...

At 27 years of age, Casey Stoner already has two MotoGP world championships (2007 and 2011) to his name and there is a very good chance that he’ll win the 2012 MotoGP world championship as well. Recently, Man’s World magazine had an opportunity to put a few questions to the reigning MotoGP world champion, which he answered with remarkable candour. Here are a few excerpts from what Casey had to say…

On frequent changes in MotoGP technical regulations, pertaining to engine size

“I strongly believe that the management in this sport should define a clear set of rules and then stick to them for a guaranteed period of time. The constant changing of the rules is deterring manufacturers and privateer teams from entering. If you keep the rules stable for a few years then other teams looking to join the Championship know the benchmark and can join with confidence that the rules will not change and that they could become competitive. If they join without this assurance, then it is a huge gamble, as if rules change and they must adapt then they simply may not have the budget which means they exit from the sport.”

On allowing production-based engines in MotoGP and whether CRT teams are a step in the right direction

“For me, no. The MotoGP class is the pinnacle of motorcycle racing, with prototype machines. To allow CRT bikes, which are production based machines, is cheapening the class and to mix them in with the prototype machines is not only confusing to the fans and viewers of the sport but also dangerous in my opinion. We can see that the lap times of these CRT bikes are very similar to the Moto2 bikes (600cc) and this for me is a big problem.”

On his rivals, against whom he enjoys racing

“Honestly, I really enjoy racing with Dani Pedrosa, my team mate in the Honda factory team, and Jorge Lorenzo. We’ve seen some very close racing between the three of us so far this season and when we are on track and that close to each other, I have confidence riding with them. I hope they feel the same, but for me, to know that it’s them I am fighting with is very comforting as they both have track maturity and are totally aware of their immediate surroundings.”

On why he thinks seven-time MotoGP world champion, Valentino Rossi hasn’t been able to do well with Ducati

“I think it’s difficult to say without seeing him on a Yamaha or Honda. What Valentino has achieved in the sport is very impressive and I’m sorry to see them struggling now at Ducati. However, they were very quick to judge the situation from the outside when I was there and commented that they could fix the bike in 80 seconds. Well it’s been 17 months now, numerous chassis’ and millions of Euros spent and it seems that they are further back from the bike they inherited in Valencia 2010. Satellite riders have been finishing higher than Valentino and Nicky Hayden has had some very good sessions. There is no doubt that it’s a very different style of bike to ride from the Japanese bikes and I’m not sure what they will try next.”

On how the mid-1990s Honda NSR500 compares with the current RC213V MotoGP racebike

“Unfortunately, I haven’t ridden one, but I’d really like to ride Honda’s two-stroke NSR500s! They may be around 80 horsepower less than the bikes we ride now, but without any traction control I’m pretty sure they’d be a lot of fun to ride.”

On the prospect of riding very powerful sportsbikes on the street

“I was fortunate to ride the Honda Fireblade in Australia last year and I was very impressed. I was shocked that it didn’t have traction control as it was so good to ride! On public roads, you’d have to be stupid to ride like you’re on a track, this is something I’ll never understand. As a means of transport to get around, I don’t use my bike so much as now we are three people so a car is so much more convenient. When I want to get out to clear my head though, there is nothing like a nice ride. I have a Honda CB1000R, it’s a very comfortable bike to ride with a lot of power, but I save my speed for the track.”

On his motorcycling hero

“Of course, Mick Doohan. He’s always been my idol, I used to watch all his races as a kid and what he achieved is something really impressive. To come back from the injuries he sustained and to then win Championships is incredible. To ride in the Repsol Honda, the Honda factory Team, in the same livery as he raced in is something I’m very proud of. I’ve been fortunate to become friends with Mick and he comes to a few races each year which is really nice.”

On the party scene in MotoGP and the countries he enjoys visiting

“Ha ha. I’m not really a party guy, I enjoy having dinner with my friends and being in their company and having a good time, but not so much partying. I’d say that my favourite circuits are probably Phillip Island, Brno and Mugello as they are simply fun to ride at! During the season, I really enjoy racing in Phillip Island as it provides me with an opportunity to get home and see some friends and family and spend time in Australia. I also like going to America for the two races over there, there is such diversity in America and I enjoy travelling around and spending time in the mountains or by the ocean, I hope to spend more time there in the future.”

On the prospect of MotoGP going to India in 2013

“I’ve never been to India. I read a lot about the F1 race there last year and obviously watched it and I would be interested to see the circuit for sure. I think that MotoGP needs to visit more areas and we currently have four races in Spain, which is too many. MotoGP is the F1 of bikes, if we want to attract a larger following and new sponsors etc, then we must take the show to new markets.”

On his favourite music

“I pretty much listen to everything, I don’t have a favourite band as I never know who I’m listening to! I just like what I hear.”

On what he’s searching for, in life

“I guess the same as most people, I always wanted my own family and now with the birth of my daughter Alessandra in February, this dream has become a reality. I’d like more children in the future and to spend more time back home in Australia.”

On the bike he wanted most, as a teenager

“Probably Mick Doohan’s Repsol Honda!”

On his dream car

“I love a lot of cars, but I’m not the kind of person that would waste money on them. I guess I’d love to drive a few Lamborghinis or a Zonda, but I probably wouldn’t buy one.”

On his favourite place to go on a holiday

“I’d say America, but I’d also like to see more of Australia. I’ve been looking at the Caribbean a lot recently as I know the fishing over there is pretty good!”

On his favourite films and the Hollywood actress he likes most

“Meg Ryan has always been my favourite actress. For films, I appreciate clever films with a twist but recently I’ve been getting into my Westerns and especially Clint Eastwood movies.”

On whether he prefers formal or casual clothes

“I’m a casual dresser as I like to be outdoors, especially when at the farm but also cycling and fishing. So a suit wouldn’t really be practical. I have a few bespoke suits that I’ve had made, it’s nice to wear them for special occasions but in general I’m happiest in a pair of jeans and a tee shirt.”
