Vampeng: My Life

Off Day

2017-06-28T08:53:00.000-07:00

Today is definitely an off day for me.

One other detail that I forgot to mention in my last post was that I have also been diagnosed with anxiety and depression. I have it under control, for the most part, I take my medications daily and overall my life has definitely been on the upswing, but nobody's perfect, right?

I just don't feel as confident in myself today as I have the rest of the week so far. I think it's just one of those days where I just don't feel good about myself and there's no real reason behind it. It's tough for me right now. I am in the midst of packing for my boyfriend and I to move, but he's in California for annual training with the Marine Corps. He won't be back until a few days before our move out date. So right now it's just me with the two dogs at home trying to balance tutoring, caring for my dogs, and all of the pre-moving tasks on a list that seems unending.

I just need to find a way of getting my momentum back.

5 Years Later...

2017-06-25T16:58:00.000-07:00

I'm surprised I was ever able to find the time to write a blog post. I'll try and catch you up. I now have two adorable Chihuahua mix breed doggies: Milo, a boy who's a schnauzer poodle chihuahua; and Ivy, a girl who's a Chiweenie.

the day I got Ivy 8/30/2016

Milo and Ivy cuddling 4/27/2017

I'm going to be entering my senior year at LSU. I am majoring in Sport Administration with a double concentration in Sport Commerce and Sport Leadership with a minor in Business. During my junior year, I began my internship with the Cox Communications Academic Center for Student-Athletes (CCACSA).

During my free time, I like to binge-watch Friends while making money on InboxDollars. And you know what's so funny is, around the time I started this blog, I was looking for something like InboxDollars, some easy way to make some money online, but kept failing to find anything that wasn't just a scam. A big reason for that was because I was so young, I was pretty much a useless demographic, and I wasn't about to build an early record of fraudulence.

And with the knowledge of Excel and economics that I have acquired throughout the course of my college career thus far, I made a plan: put my InboxDollars checks into savings and learn about the stock market (oh, btw, only reason why I am considering this is because I am already over $100,000 in student loan debt and I haven't even completed undergrad).

That definitely isn't everything but I've gotten you up to speed. And I'm about to do a massive blog facelift (I apologize for the years that I obsessed over neon colors and black and emo-punk).

I also need to make myself a new outro signature.... in the works.....

This poor cat came up to my porch all lonely, but I can't bring it inside :\ Hopefully it sticks around so I can bring it to PAWS!

Hopefully the owner didn't just get tired of it and dropped it off; I hate it when people do that...

Nail Evolution

2012-05-20T00:37:00.000-07:00

When you are finally able to break past a habit it is sooo beneficial.

Through the relapse phase of insanity to the talon stage, I was able to grow out of one habit, then it's on to the next one...

Question everyone seems to have to someone who has successfully broken this all too common habit: how did you do it?

First of all you have to learn to fight your urge. I'm sure everyone gets that a lot, and they always say it's not helpful, but you really do have to set your mind to ridding yourself of the problem. Another thing that could help is always having some gum around, so whenever you feel like biting you nails just take out a piece of gum, but that could give you long term TMJ problems, but it could not so whatever works.

Next is taking care of your nails and bringing them back up to a normal HEALTHY stage. After the YEARS of nail biting I and I am sure many other people have gone through, your nails become really thin, dry, weak, and are prone to breaking. Fear not! There is a cure!

So I know the pictures are bad, but they are Nail Tek nail therapy "polishes" I guess you could say. You apply a coat every night and clean your nails at the end of the week and start over, but another key component is the pH balance of your nail. Because acetone is the most efficient way to thoroughly clean your nail it is really harsh on the pH balance of the nail, but guess what? There's a cure for that too!

So this stuff, Chip Skip, saved my LIFE! Any time I put on polishes they always came off whether they peeled off or the whole design came off in one piece. The pH balance of the nail was off which was making it hard for my nails to keep the polish on. This stuff is like crazy! So it's like watery but when you put it on it dries as quick as acetone. I got a free sample which is really tiny and I am STILL using it and I have had it for a LONG time now, and I also share it with my mom, so A LITTLE GOES A LONG WAY!

The next tip I guess is to get creative with your nails. Do cute little designs on your nails with polish, or even just your favorite color on your nails. Seeing your beautiful creation that could have taken a half hour per hand to make would probably make you more motivated to not bite at your nails, because you would destroy your hard work.

But yeah! After the rehab stage you have to work past your laziness and cut your nails or else they will grow out and be a pain in the neck haha I have learned that!

Good luck to anyone who is trying to terminate their habit, and to anyone else, hope you enjoyed this not so exciting story...

Listening to Shakira.... yes.

Respect

2012-05-15T23:12:00.000-07:00

There are people out there in the celebrity world that I just shake my head at, but there are others that I look up to for guidance, they are amazing people that have been misunderstood by hater stereotypes and people that are willing to look past that and find the real person find out that these people are better then what they are perceived to be.

Nicki Minaj

I feel like people are always "I miss the old Nicki" and it really bugs me because she is the same person that she was, she is just coming out as what she wants to be. The advice she gives and the things that she stands for just embody everything I believe in. Be yourself no matter how weird it may seem to people. Embrace things that make you feel powerful and happy.

Demi Lovato

I feel like she is one of the first people to point out Disney's wrong doings. Demi has a story that is full of a lot of shit but you don't need to her tell you for you to know. She is so powerful and she grew through the troubles and became something amazing. Her growth and success is a big message to girls that no matter what problems you may have or what things you may have been through, you can still achieve your dreams, you just have to believe in yourself.

Rihanna

I feel like she is one of the strongest people ever. Everyone thinks it is a mistake for her to forgive Chris Brown. Sure, maybe it is a bad idea to go into that relationship again, but hasn't anyone heard of the saying "Forgive, but don't forget"? She forgave him, she helped him get back on his feet, but hell no she isn't going to forget what he did to her, but that doesn't mean she is going to advertise that event for the rest of her life. She doesn't want to be labelled as the girl who was in an abusive relationship, she wants her own label that makes her powerful, that makes her recognizable by the things she has done, not the things she has gone through.

Kendra Wilkinson

I feel like Kendra grew from a troublesome teen into a beautiful and successful woman. I don't think she wears her time in Playboy as a demeaning thing that makes her seem slutty, I think she wears it as something that helped save her life. Playboy helped lead her away from drugs and trouble and it led her to better things. Now she is married with the most beautiful baby I have ever seen (that child's hair, oh my goodness). Even the most unthinkable paths of success can be great paths of success, it just depends on how you use them.

Yeah that's about it, I just felt like making a post and I felt like this was definitely something to touch on. I might do another one of these with more people later because there are so many inspirational people that have influenced my life path. Yeah!

Touch post.

2012-05-12T20:46:00.001-07:00

Alright this is NOT A STICKER POST! To some of you that may be a relief, and to others it may be a disappointment, but I decided to try and get this girl a little more notoriety because she deserves it!

There's this artist named Sabi, she is so talented, she doesn't have a VEVO on Youtube so she isn't really out there, but I want you guys to check her out!

I mean, look at this:

This girl is on the prowl, and if you wanna feel hipster get her on your ipod now so you can be all like "I knew bout her BEFORE she had a VEVO, pshh."

Check her out HERE!

She's gettin' on my iPod tonight...

Allusion

2012-05-12T16:43:00.001-07:00

I used to be really annoyed with the thought of allusions in Literature class, but I have come to realize that my life is just one big allusion. I feel like everything in my life is alluding me to something else which will then lead me to something more. My life is just like one big mystery, I'm just finding the clues...

2012-05-12T14:24:00.000-07:00

I know I have been doing a lot of posts about GetGlue, but in all honesty I haven't had time to do much else. It's not because I have been spending all my time on GetGlue, it's just that anything else requires more time than I have. So here are some more stickers, enjoy.

Yeah I am about to hit 800 stickers (792 currently). Again, like I have said before, if you are interested in what a certain sticker was earned for, just ask! I have a Twitter and a Youtube and you could even ask me on GetGlue or Tumblr.

~Rosie

Cat Fight

2012-04-30T21:23:00.000-07:00

So I just watched Dr. Drew and this lesbian woman totally beat down this homophobic guy who thinks that a lesbian woman should not be allowed to teach their boy scouts skills. They totally thrashed that guy.

And here is a picture of my face.

Yeah that's about it right now, I got more stickers.... I might make a post on that tomorrow. Seriously, GetGlue is amazing.

Bunch of Stuff

2012-04-27T21:07:00.000-07:00

Due to the fact that I have been at home on meds and in pain, I have had quite a bit of time to venture on the internet and I have stumbled upon things.

First thing, GetGlue. I don't know why this is so intriguing to me but it is! Once you get a certain amount of stickers they sent you actual copies of them. I think that is pretty frickin sweet, only problem for me is where to put them...

I have also been looking at makeup and whatnot and I can't help but wish I had money to buy stuff right now!

They are obviously called Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics for a reason!

I also thought these were cool, just glitter eyeliners from Urban Decay.

Yeah, that's about it for now, I might have more to say later but who knows.

I look like I got in a bad fight. And I did, with the sun...

~Rosie

Girl Crush

2012-04-26T19:53:00.001-07:00

So I have an official girl crush like seriously.

Azmarie from ANTM British Invasion

This woman is sexy as hell not gonna lie. I am pretty sure more than half of all straight girls would go lesbian for this hot shit lol.

I'm probably gonna have to start making a girl crush list now... lol

ABDC Week 3

2012-04-25T20:58:00.003-07:00

America's Best Dance crew is so intense this season. I forgot how exhilarating it was to watch this show, I could only imagine what it's like to actually compete on it! Tonight's competition was changed up a bit as the crews learned during the show that two teams would be eliminated tonight rather than just one.

Tonight's bottom three were:

Safe

Eliminated

I was happy that Collizion Crew was able to stay because I am a big fan of Jeremy Strong and I feel like they worked hard to put their challenged form of dance and a bit of imagery into their performance. People vote! You can vote more than once, vote for who rocked your world. We don't want something to happen on ABDC like Colton's elimination on American Idol do we?

Canada and Mexico should be proud of the talent that they brought to ABDC...

Cute Desserts

2012-04-25T20:43:00.001-07:00

I was bored and saw all of these cute/funny/impressive dessert ideas and decided why not show you?

I wanna be able to do this one day, that's friggin sick!

This one seems to be very viral and popular, but it's still cute

What is that, fudge?

I gotta have some stache in here, I love stache crafts haha

If these are what they think they are then they taste realllyyyy good because my neighbors made some candy cane shaped ones for me!

Gotta have the gamer stuff haha

Cookie-ception bro

A giant oreo! Yessss

Classic

This reminds me of that feeling when you think you are drinking milk and then you discover you are drinking water

refer to previous caption haha

I thought this was something unique, looks like a Halloween treat type thing

Yeah I was bored but I'll be sure to update on ABDC when the show ends tonight!

Food and dance...
