Being a parent is actually difficult when you consider how much you have to do every day while trying to focus on staying positive with your attitude. Youngsters can be so demanding and they have such a huge amount of energy that you might be wondering if you’ll make it through the day or until their next nap time, if they’re quite young. Do you get stressed-out trying to be the best parent you can be? But remember, that it’s your priority to make sure they’re safe, fed, have a roof over their heads, and that you become the role model that will help shape their future on this planet. Sometimes, to a large degree, what youngsters turn into depends on how they were raised. Do they have a daily routine to follow? Do they feel safe? Can they talk to you without getting scolded or reprimanded for a chore left undone? Emotional Stress One of the helpful things you’re able to do for your children is to dictate how you’ll handle your own personal emotions by arranging time to care for you. Moms and dads who take time for themselves benefit by giving more energy to their children than parents who don’t take time out for themselves. It can help you stay much more calm and focused, allowing you to “be there” for your children after a time of refreshing time away. Medicines as well as consuming alcohol are a couple of the most effective fears for young people. In some cases they even can over react with stress not to mention emotional solidity. Fathers and mothers should look to keep their boys and girls aware of the potential risks, especially if your children are easily influenced by their friends or peers to join in the fun, even when they know it goes against your rules. That said, fathers and mothers should take protective measures for conversing with their children in depth, which can be, to spell out the difficulties instead of instituting baseless limits. Properly setting up typical workout routines is critical that will keep the children happy and healthy. Babies have a tendency to really enjoy a schedule. Hardship may make someone troubled, nonetheless, students are especially at risk of the load plus nervousness that a child might not be aware of or that’s taking place. A normal workout for evening might help redirect your children’s focus so that they can have a feeling of being completely happy and assured. Your kid is dependent upon a daily habit when it comes to a family’s daily life and routines. Children feel safe when rules are put in place. They also might resent your rules at times, but it’s what makes them feel cherished, as opposed to some parents who could care less what their children do. For infants, you can promote your baby’s well-being by implementing and establishing a scheduled time frame for quite a few activities each day. If your young child sees that [...]

The post Advice for Stress-Free Parenting appeared first on Professional Online Consulting for private personal consultations.

Do you experience feeling stressed and anxious every day, but you don’t know why? Don’t let stress take control of your existence. You have to find an ideal way to handle these negative feelings, rather than running away. This blog post contains several stress management solutions. How do you cope with nervousness? Anxieties are inevitable, however when you are confronted with a scenario that makes you anxious, make sure to take deep breaths and focus on what might be causing your reaction. Inhale as if you were smelling a flower, and exhale like you are attempting to extinguish a burning candle. This gives you more oxygen, slows your heartbeat, and calms you down. You can accomplish a lot when you realize your anxiety can be minimized by simply accepting that things are bound to happen, but it’s how you react to those things that can make a positive difference in your life. Understand that you can’t control all things in existence, and often things won’t equal your anticipation. Consider the situation fairly, and understand that matters aren’t actually as bad as you think they are. Possibly the most crucial step in coping with anxiety is acknowledging that you’ve got a problem that needs a solution. When you admit to yourself you have a problem with anxiety, place yourself inside a mindset where you stand prepared to cope with it. Acknowledging you’ve got an issue is the initial step to recovery. If you consume large amounts of caffeine, you might want to do yourself a huge favor and change to caffeine-free coffee or soda. Lots of people who are suffering from anxiety don’t realize the side effects that coffee and caffeinated beverages might have on their own emotions. Switching to decaffeinated may be beneficial, especially if you don’t want to eliminate coffee altogether. Laughter is among the very best methods for circumventing anxiety because it changes your focus and reduces your stressful mood. Like a tension-breaker, it can’t be beat. The best part is the fact that its effects could be distributed to individuals who are around you. Attempt to cultivate an affection for that silly and absurd side of existence. Embrace the funny and witty individuals who take part in your daily life. Bring them closer so their resilience turns into a model for you personally. When you’re creating your foods, try your very best to include as many colorful veggies as you possibly can. If you’re consuming meat, prepare a carrot or pea dish to enhance your meal. These veggies are perfect as you’ll get natural vitamins that are ideal for enhancing your mood throughout your day. Try using these stress management techniques during the next time you are feeling stressed. It’s possible that you won’t see results immediately; however, you ought to keep practicing until you’ll be able to concentrate on controlling your stress levels. This could actually help make your anxiety disappear. Your time and efforts are going to be compensated [...]

The post Coping with Nervousness appeared first on Professional Online Consulting for private personal consultations.

Seniors are concerned about having enough money if they live too long! As the economy ebbs and flows, and the cost of living continues to rise above our means to either earn a sufficient income or to live on a fixed income from Social Security or other retirement options, the concern does arise about worrying if you will live too long. Retirement without working has its concerns. Additional part-time jobs or having some other form of passive revenue is a challenge for seniors everywhere. The last thing a senior needs piled onto his or her back is the anxiety of wondering how it will be possible to live on the income that comes in every month. It’s not like at age 65 that you can just go out and apply for a job and hope to get hired. Well, maybe if you’re applying at a senior center or someplace that is run by seniors, you’d have a better opportunity than trying to apply for a job where much younger people were also vying for the same job. It’s not that employers are discriminating; it’s a fact of life that when you’re a senior, you have to figure out how you’re going to live for as long as you’re going to live and still be able to afford a comfortable life. That might sound rather silly, but can you remember back to your days of being 20 or 30 years old? Probably the last thing on your mind was if you’d have enough money to live on when you reached retirement age, or if you were to live to be ninety-five years old. Yet, there are many forty-year-olds who are in what is called the sandwich generation, which means they have to pay for and take care of their parents while they still have children living at home. In those scenarios, trying to put money aside for your own retirement, which is twenty-five years later, might not seem like an immediate concern. Nevertheless, it is a known fact that people are living longer and longer these days. So, before you get to that point where you’re in a situation of being unable to work and earn any extra income, take a few hours to consider what your options are, and then create a plan for how you can begin making changes in your life to be able to afford your most basic needs. Depending upon where you live, local banks, chambers of commerce, and social events in towns across American sometimes bring in presenters and speakers to talk to seniors about retirement and options. Just don’t sign anything or agree to have them take money out of your account on a monthly basis because their plan sounds so wonderful. Collect the information, get some brochures and factual data, and then sit down with a friend or family member who is open to discussing your options. It’s not that that person is going to help you make [...]

The post Are You Worried About Living Too Long And Not Being Able To Afford A Comfortable Life? appeared first on Professional Online Consulting for private personal consultations.

Men and women who are turning fifty-five and older are beginning to look at various living accommodations and downsizing from their large family home. What types of senior living accommodations are available to seniors and what are the costs? Senior Living Accommodations and Your Choices The three main types of living arrangements that are open to seniors are: 1. Assisted living. 2. Independent living. 3. Skilled nursing facilities. A senior-oriented apartment complex or housing arrangement allows seniors to finally take advantage of not having the responsibilities are costs of keeping up a single-family home or a condo. It doesn’t matter if you’re single or if you’re married, there’s a certain level of peace of mind when you’re surrounded by others in your own age group. Most often, the costs associated with these three types of housing arrangements depend on the quantity of services and the type of care being provided. For example, in an independent living situation, the facility may provide a workout room, a craft room. A van that takes seniors to local shopping areas and to senior events. Some places charge extra for these services, and other senior housing centers include these services in the monthly fee. In an assisted living situation, it’s not uncommon for residents to pay monthly fees averaging between 2000 and $5000 per person. If that person requires personal nursing care or needs to have someone at their side, around the clock, then you can expect to pay much higher fees. Generally, it depends where these senior housing buildings are located geographically as well as the amenities that are offered. There is one other option that many seniors choose to take advantage of, and that is to remain in their own home as long as they can. Services are available for seniors who need some assistance with their daily living activities. Perhaps a senior would like to have someone perform simple housekeeping chores, do their grocery shopping, or take them to their doctor appointments. In addition, some seniors who require skilled nursing assistance prefer to pay someone to come into their home than to be a resident of the senior skilled nursing care facility. But in the long run, it depends on the seniors preferences, and if they can afford the prices currently being charged. If you’re looking at the possibility of moving into an independent living situation with other seniors, take a drive through your town or a town close to you and look for buildings that are advertising specials on moving rates for seniors. Grabbing a copy of a local newspaper will also bring insight as to locations and housing costs. Finally, set aside a Saturday or Sunday and have a friend or family member join you for a little adventure of touring two or three different senior facilities. You might be happily surprised at your discovery.

The post Three Types Of Senior Living Accommodations: What Are The Costs? appeared first on Professional Online Consulting for private personal consultations.

Retirement: Challenges for Seniors Explained Growing older is challenging enough, with all the new changes that take place in someone’s life as they think about retirement and how their lifestyles will change. But few people truly understand all of the challenges that a senior faces when looking at retirement. This can cause undue stress and anxiety to the senior aged person. But how do we avoid these challenges, and what are they? In a recent article that Philip Moeller wrote for the US News, he listed twelve challenges that he felt needed to be overcome by seniors. Here is his list: “1. Declining or stagnant income or loss of job 2. Loss or erosion of pension 3. Catastrophic illness or disability 4. Loss of health insurance or escalation of healthcare costs 5. Death of a spouse 6. Caregiving demands 7. Financial problems of children or other family members 8. Investment losses 9. Loss or erosion of social benefits 10. Living “too long,” or outliving one’s resources 11. Combination of scenarios 12. Windfalls: unexpected, but welcome, scenarios” The article goes on to say that the people who were polled and asked the question of what was a challenge to them as a senior, it was learned that there were a lot of roadblocks to successfully living a serene life of retirement. And they weren’t just talking about how unstable the Social Security system was. As you can see from the list above, these are major concerns that go above and beyond falling down and not being able to get up. The truth is that sometimes just one of these challenges can totally change all of your retirement plans. It’s like the surprise that no one wants to get, because how do you prepare for circumstances when you don’t know what the circumstances will be like? What can do, however, is have some type of a contingency plan, a what-if list of options. It’s like car insurance, renters insurance, or flood insurance…You buy it for your own protection in case something does happen. The same is true for being prepared to the best of your ability for the challenges that will face you as a senior. The best plan is to take a single approach at a time and not become overwhelmed with so many scenarios and how you would handle each one. For example, maybe this year you could look at how you might be able to improve your finances or put more money aside. It’s one thing that you have to figure out. Then when you have found a solution to that first item on your list, then go to the second item, think it through, talk it over with friends and family, or even a consultant and then make a decision to implement it into your life. We can overcome challenges, and we can adjust our attitudes to a challenge, but it takes practice and foresight to think about it now rather than later.

The post 12 Retirement Challenges for Seniors appeared first on Professional Online Consulting for private personal consultations.

Retirement: Living Longer Means Facing Serious Concerns About … As men and women retire from their jobs or previous lifestyles, they have brochures and catalogs in front of them that show pictures of beautiful resorts, cruises, and tips for ways that seniors can travel now that they have more time on their hands. While living longer holds the promise of life after retirement, it also means that men and women are becoming more concerned about how they’re going to pay their rising healthcare costs. In a recent report, cited by Huffington Post, I agree with the information that healthcare costs for seniors are on the rise and becoming more of a challenge. This is what the report says: “The report, which appears in the Journal of General Internal Medicine, looked at data from more than 3,000 people covered by Medicare in 2002-2008 to gauge the impact of health care cost on seniors. Researchers measured how much money Medicare-eligible seniors had spent out of pocket on healthcare in their last five years alive, and looked at how those costs weighed on their total household income. “After crunching the numbers, the report found that during that time period, more than 75 percent of Medicare-eligible households spent at least $10,000 out of pocket on health care. Spending for all participants during those last five years averaged $38,688, and for the remaining 25 percent the average expense was even greater: they spent a whopping $101,791 out of pocket. A quarter of participants also spent “more than their total household assets on healthcare,” according to the report.” The bottom line is that if you’re not yet a senior and you have a few years left before your impending retirement, it would serve you well to begin putting money aside, not just for travel, but for paying your out-of-pocket expenses when something does arise. If you are receiving Medicare as a senior, what you can do is to consult with healthcare providers who offer supplemental insurance. Most larger cities in the United States have paid and volunteer workers whose primary concern is to address questions about retirement and affording health care costs. It’s not just the point anymore of saying that you’re healthy and you’re not taking any medications. The truth is that at some point you will need to address health care costs. Besides that, even for someone who doesn’t have a major medical issue going on, yearly medical exams may require x-rays, EKGs, and medications to lower your blood pressure or to control hypertension or high cholesterol readings. Talk to your doctor and find out what others in your locale are doing as far as insurance and keeping up with healthcare costs.

The post Retirement: Living Longer Means Facing Serious Concerns About Rising Healthcare Costs appeared first on Professional Online Consulting for private personal consultations.

Does your best friend just have bad behavior that you’d like to correct? Maybe you need to ask yourself why you’re allowing these irritating things to continue happening in your life. If your best friend does things that irritate you, then you might want to consider the following two choices that could very well bring you positive results for ending the other person’s irritating behavior. Remember, your best friend might not think that her behavior is irritating. It’s just that no one has stopped enabling her, which is why she continues to do the things she does. How do you handle a situation with a best friend who disrespects you? 1. Let’s say that your best friend is always late. Initially, you might have given her the benefit of the doubt, because she said that traffic was just horrible, or she got caught at work and didn’t have a chance to call. Being late can happen to anyone, but it’s how your best friend shows her disrespect to you by not calling, not showing up, and repeating the behavior. The first thing that you can do is not to lash out in anger. Simply explain to your friend that your time is very valuable to you. Tell her that the next time the two of you arrange to get together, you will give her a fifteen-minute window of time to show up. If she doesn’t show up, then you leave. No explanation needed. However, if she calls within that fifteen-minute window of time to tell you that she’ll be there in thirty minutes, then remind her about your agreement. Tell her you’re sorry, but you won’t be there when she arrives. She might act irritated, and she might not call you for a little while. But what are your choices? You can allow her to continue disrespecting you, or you can dismiss her until she can treat you with the respect that you deserve. It’s about setting boundaries. Make sure you have them. 2. Let’s imagine that you have a friend who always seems to call you at the last minute to get together. Maybe she’s always been like that. Maybe she doesn’t make plans until the very last minute. Maybe you have no one else to check in with to find out if all of her other plans have fallen through and you’re the last choice for the evening. And it doesn’t have to just be a girlfriend. Maybe you get a phone call from a guy on a Friday or Saturday night at 5 o’clock, and he asks what you’re doing. Excuse me? First of all, if you had nothing better to do, then it might be totally okay to explain why you’re home on a Friday or Saturday night. But this type of situation is also about self-respect and allowing the person to think that you’re always available and at their beck and call. So, try this: the next time your friend calls and asks what you’re [...]

The post Two Things You Can Do When Your Best Friend Does Something That Irritates You appeared first on Professional Online Consulting for private personal consultations.

Are You On Emotional Overload?

Trying to describe emotional overload will bring a different response depending upon whom you talk to today. It’s been said that we’re never given more than we can handle. But I think anyone who’s reading this, if they’re honest, will say that it feels like some days you’ve been given more of your share of challenges than any five of your closest friends. When you feel like quitting the emotional rat race What happens when you feel emotionally overloaded? Do you have a tendency to go invisible and not let anyone have contact with you? Do you feel like running away? Or do you hide your emotions from those that are closest to you, because you feel like each one of them is handling their life better than you are? We have all heard the word stress and how it is responsible for all sorts of illnesses and bad health. But how do you define stress? Some people can handle five or ten tasks all going on in one day, whereas other people can barely get through the day managing one task that they have been challenged to complete. Here’s a visualization that you might want to think about. Let’s say a young boy, perhaps a one-year-old, is standing at the edge of the swimming pool. His cute little toes are tucked over the edge, and he is gazing at his mama or his papa who is in the water coaxing him to jump in. For the child who has never jumped into a swimming pool, we might want to say that his emotions are on overload. He’s reluctant. He’s quivering, but not because it’s cold outside. Fear has entered the game plan. Yet a loving adult that he trusts is in the water and extending a hand, asking him to jump in. Yes, the adult is asking the child to trust that he’ll be safe. The child jumps into the water. The adult catches him and everything is wonderful in the world. The child’s fear has just been reduced, he’s safe, and he might even want to jump into the pool again. As adults, really bad days feel like we’re standing at the edge the pool, looking into the challenging waters, and not seeing anyone there to rescue us or to provide the safety that’s needed to help us get through a very difficult challenge. When your emotions are on overload, and it feels like you have no one to turn to, just know that there are dedicated professionals who are only a phone call away. Reach out to someone who can offer you safety. But remember, you’re the one who must take the first step. Kendall Van Blarcom is just such a dedicated professional. Call him today. Make an appointment.

The post Are You On Emotional Overload? appeared first on Professional Online Consulting for private personal consultations.
