Over the last 6 months we have been quietly working away on several new online business ventures. one of which we launched late last year and has had a successful first year.

We launched UK Business Link in November 2009, an online local business directory offering businesses an opportunity to list their businesses in an affordable search engine friendly online business directory. We have already listed close to 300 businesses and look to list many more as we continue to market the business.

Our second new online business venture is planned to be the biggest venture yet and we have been working very hard on this one for almost 8 months. Magnet4Marketing.com will be launched on October 1st 2010 and is an online blog offering free valuable information on all aspects of online business and internet marketing, so watch this space.

Van Marciano Art will continue to be our flagship business for at least another two years. We've had the most successful year yet and so will continue to thrive forward and push Fabrizio's artwork further into the limelight.

A full review of what we've been doing business and art wise will be posted after the launch of Magnet4Marketing.com, but in the meantime our art business is still very much open and we have several new art pieces available to buy right now.
Recreations of work varying from Van Goph to even merging living artists of today seem to be under threat. Of course it matters more to the likes of myself who are passionate about creating great art that I want to sell at good prices. But websites seem to be popping up all over the internet these days with a significant title related to buying cheap and crap art from china, cheap oil painting reproductions. This along with mass produced canvas prints and poster is not going to make it any easier for merging artists wanting to get on their feet and fulfilling their dreams of making a living from their art. I would love to hear what others are feeling about this issue, especially other artists.

Here is another interesting blog post that you might want to read up on:

http://www.artnewsblog.com/2009/01/paris-street-painters-lose-to-cheap.htm

Canvas Art Paintings from the UK to the USA

Van Marciano Art from the UK to the USA

Van Marciano Art is based in the sunny southwest of England, Europe. But our stunning original canvas art, paintings have taken a big leap across the shores to the US where the number of collectors of Fabrizio’s original artwork have somewhat increased in the last 12 months. Why is this?

Samantha Wright head of Van Marciano Art’s marketing tells us.

‘We’ve always sold and despatched our artwork overseas, but recently we’ve have an overwhelming increase in US art collectors finding new inspiration in Fabrizio’s stunning colour mesmerising artwork. One of the main key reasons why we’ve done so well in the US is because of our ability to fulfil order requests from as far as the US mainland in timely fashion. We’re able to despatch our canvas art fully insured anywhere in the US at a very competitive rate and we can do this within 5 to 7 days from receipt of the original order. So therefore which is why we’ve seen a number of increased collectors from the US.’

‘Another factor is that during the winter of 2010 we fulfilled a unique marketing campaign which targeted the US market and we did this because we had previously received endless emails from our friends abroad stating how they would love to be able to purchase a piece of artwork from us, but perhaps wasn’t reassured enough that we would be able to fulfil such a request being based in the UK.’

‘Many would say well what’s the big deal there are lots of artists selling successfully overseas. Well for us we’ve always aimed at the UK and European markets and that has always been enough. But to have ground contacts to work with such as galleries and online art establishments based in the US has enabled us to bring some of Fabrizio’s artwork to the US limelight if your like.’

Fabrizio continues to paint with a passion and fulfilling commission orders and purchases to the US, to match the UK demand is an achievement for the budding artist.

If you’re based anywhere in the US mainland and wish to purchase one of Fabrizio’s stunning original canvas art paintings then please don’t hesitate to contact us or simply purchase online and we’ll do the rest. For more information you can contact Samantha or Fabrizio at sales@vanmarcianoart.com

Original Art by Fabrizio Van Marciano

Fabrizio’s passion for creating beautiful artwork has always come from deep within his admiration for the ocean. Over the last five years of his art career he has created and perfected a unique style of seascape paintings that has graced the walls of homes and businesses in their thousands. Fabrizio’s passion for creating original art is also fuelled by his passion for making every piece of his unique paintings completely affordable. To Fabrizio, buying an original piece of art resembles an individual’s appreciation for the finer things in life, without the hefty price tag. Creating art that is completely formed by hand without the use of any other tools except for the good old fashion pencil, brush and paints is part of what invigorates him to create something new and fresh no matter what subject he chooses. The look and feel of a piece of original art is simply an intimate experience in itself, not remotely the same can be told for conventional mass produced canvas prints.

Our collection of original artwork is inspired by many aspects and elements. Our seascapes and marine artwork is of course inspired by Fabrizio’s passion for the ocean and the surfing culture and lifestyle in Cornwall. The same can be told for our collection of sunset canvas paintings. Our abstract art is something totally new and fresh with ideas and designs based around the artist’s research and interest in modern living and interior designs. The main mediums used to create our original art collection are acrylic and gouache designer watercolours. We occasionally use oils on a liquid white pre-painted surface to achieve the stunning blending effects seen in Fabrizio’s work.

The Collection

Our collection of original canvas art subjects are Fabrizio’s traditional seascape triptych paintings, abstract textured paintings, cityscape paintings inspired by New York, sunset canvas paintings, floral paintings of poppies, waves and surf art and a small collection of artwork of local Cornish scenes and landmarks. They’re cheap and reasonably easy to hang up hassle-free. However with the price of original canvas art now becoming more and more affordable you would have to seriously question what would you rather have hanging on your wall? A cheap canvas print bought from your local supermarket probably mass produced in a warehouse somewhere in Thailand, or an affordable unique hand-painted canvas art.

<?xml:namespace prefix = o />

Buying original art is off course an exciting and rewarding venture and what more you can do all this from the complete comfort of your own home. The internet has totally changed the way art and foremost original art has become available to consumers. The days of venturing into your high street gallery are not merely over by far, but very seldom as good original art can now be found online and at much more attractive prices.

Affordable canvas art is available in many different styles and themes as mentioned, and with this in mind you’ll find yourself completely spoilt for choice from colour, size, theme, style etc, the list is endless. If you’re buying for someone else, perhaps a house warming present or adding finishing touches to your newly decorated living room, then you should definitely consider buying original. Over canvas prints and posters, original art certainly retains more value and meaning. It makes your canvas art personal to you. Van Marciano Art has over 250 sizes in a variety of colours, themes and styles to choose from. That along with our flawless customer service from a family run business we're sure you won't be disappointed.

Samantha Wright
Sales & Administration Manager
http://www.vanmarcianoart.com/

New York Cityscape Canvas Art

We've been so busy with updating the Van Marciano Art website with new categories as well as new artwork. After an unpredictably busy start to the new spring 2010 season, Fabrizio has been working on some new fresh and tantalising city canvas paintings. The beautifully painted pieces of original canvas art are filled with life and as with all artwork from Van Marciano light and depth, and with work inspired by famous venues such as Time Square, Broadway and the Central Park skyline. We're also creating these stunning city art pieces in a variety of single colours as well so keep a close eye out for new additions in this category over the next few months.

More About Our Cityscape Canvas Art

Fabrizio ventured into painting cityscape paintings in early 2004 with a small collection he did which showcased on the EBSQ art and ZeroOne Art website in late 2004. Such art titles were 'Urban Dusk' and 'Moonlight on the Streets' were amongst some of his popular pieces capturing the refelction of a moonlight off towering glass fronted city blocks. This year having been asked on numerous occassions to create his own collection of city canvas art we're delighted to see Fabrizio tailoring his own depictions of New York City in depth and colours never seen before by this artist. Unlike many hand-painted cityscape canvas paintings Fabrizio's greater attention to detail can clearly be seen by accurately making out individually painted focal points of interests such as billboard logo's, lines and shadows, street lights reflecting of the buildings, cars etc. Take a look closely and you will find a lot more happening in our cityscape paintings than just blobs of colour and abstract shapes in an attempt to make up a cityscape painting.

If you have a photograph perhaps taken whilst on a short city break away or simply love the colourful style of Fabrizio's city paintings then why not get in touch with either Samantha or Fabrizio today with your commission requests and requirements.

Contact Information:
Email: mailto:info@vanmarcianoart.com?subject=Canvas%20Art
Tel: +44 (0) 7915 961327 and ask for Samantha or Fabrizio.

Our little workshop is now bustling with new canvas art created by resident artist Fabrizio Van Marciano. We have some new tantilising sunset paintings inspired by some local spots surrounding North Cornwall in store. We will soon be adding these to the Van Marciano Art website soon. In the meantime check out some of the artist's latest creations below.

Journeys End - Acrylic on deep edge canvas (New Modern Art for 2010)

Creating a hand-painted Union Jack Canvas Painting

I’ve recently had a commission request to create a rather large canvas painting of the Union Jack. To get me started I decided to paint one on a smaller scale at first to get an idea and feel of how I was going to create the final large piece. The original commissioned piece measured 39” high x 48” wide. My client requested this piece to be framed, mounted and glazed as well.

Stage 1 – Since I wasn’t using any templates for this, as accurately as possible I pencilled out the lines and shapes, measuring distances and keeping everything as symmetrical as possible. The best way I found to do this was to find the centre point of the canvas and measure out the initial cross as accurate as possible and then identify the triangles and lines that make up the Union Jack as shown below.

Stage 2 – This stage after identifying and correcting mistakes I then began to paint the initial cross and red lines using Cadmium Red Hue acrylic mixed with flame Red gouache. As with all our canvas paintings I use a watered down mix of colour before applying a second layer of a more prominent colour.

Stage 3 – Here the painting is slowly starting to look like the Union Jack and so I continue by painting in the blue areas using neat Winsor Blue acrylic mixed with a little Ultramarine Blue gouache using the same principle as when painting the red parts.

So there you have it ladies and gentleman, a nicely commissioned canvas art of the Union Jack. I have had similar requests in the past and have successfully completed commissions of the USA flag which proved to quite time consuming but the result have been quite exquisite. So there’s no need for a canvas print when we can create stunning and unique canvas paintings of any form or shape, making them that extra special.

Stage 1

Stage 2

Stage 3

Close Up with artist Fabrizio Van Marciano

Fabrizio’s passion for painting has become more and more noticeable over the recent years from his massive online presence with his unique and eye-catching simple modern original paintings. Fabrizio is easily inspired and his ability for self-motivation is generated from his raw passion for the beautiful surroundings that he considers himself very lucky to be around in. His passion and utmost respect for the ocean never ceases to amaze him, and being fortunate enough to share this love affair with the Cornish surf, he continues to take each day at a time perfecting everything that life blesses him with.

Painting has never meant so much more now than ever before. New ideas and possibilities fills this young artist mind body and soul each day, and as the new season approaches, Fabrizio knows that he needs to step up his game in both his creativity and approach to painting original art. The selections of original paintings found on this website are certainly pieces of his life journey in which he shares with over 3,000 collectors worldwide, with some very loyal collectors indeed.

Fabrizio can almost be found spending long evenings either surfing or gazing into the oceans heart and what fills his mind are boundaries in which he definitely prepares himself to overcome. This year Fabrizio Van Marciano will be taking some major time of from the studio to be fulfilling some well deserved surfing adventures abroad. It is with this journey that awaits him he hopes to return with even more unrivalled ideas for creativity and painting.

With a tight set of loyal "passionate about life" friends, life in sunny Cornwall need not be the stressful tension that the rest of the UK seems to enjoy gulfing themselves in. Time certainly stops here and away from big smoky cities and uninviting places Fabrizio’s heart lies deep within the surroundings that allows for his creativity that is hugely visible in his original paintings.

“I am so thankful to God for what I’m able to do. The wake up call at 7am is breakfast and priority one to see what the surf’s doing. That’s my major source of inspiration for creativity. Without it my paintings would deeply suffer that I do believe that. I couldn’t see myself living anywhere else or doing anything else for a living, it just isn’t appealing to wake up living in a noisy restless city and going off to work when play time begins. I’m perhaps selfish in saying that the rest of the UK is pretty bland compared to what I’ve experienced and seen here in Cornwall. I’ve seen a lot of it and haven’t really been that impressed (laughs). I’m at the mercy of this place and will forever remain its slave, gladly.”

2010 is set out to be a great year for the artist and Van Marciano Art.com as Samantha is looking for new ideas in broadening the business’s service capabilities. A possible venture into canvas printing and photo to canvas is amongst the list of new business venture ideas. Watch this space.

50% off Canvas Paintings, Winter Sale at Van Marciano Art

Fabrizio has been somewhat pretty busy over the last recent months not only preparing for a busy festive season but also preparing for the coming of his latest collection of a series of collection of canvas paintings that is due for exploding into the limelight in early 2010. We now catch up with the artist in his home studio in North Devon and find out what he has in store for us.

SW – So Fabrizio, how have you been?

FVM – Good thanks Sammy.

SW – Ok so you’ve been busy with so many things orientating around your art career at the moment, tell us what’s been happening.

FVM – Well to be honest so much has happened I don’t really know where to start (laughs) it’s been a relatively busy summer in fact the busiest summer for the website alone. We’ve had a large number of commission orders of various subjects and themes that in some instances we’ve had to turn customers away which was pretty heartbreaking at times. I’ve been going it alone for the majority of the year, painting and admin and marketing etc but it’s kept me out of trouble (laughs).

SW – Ok so the website has been quiet popular then?

FVM – Yes we’ve been online since 2003 and have gone from strength to strength really and we now don’t have to rely on any other online selling platform which is a dream come true. We’ve spent a lot of money and double the amount of time in getting things right from initial design to marketing to anything that needs to be done really. We’ve finally found our corporate image for the website now which is black and sienna.

SW – I understand that the whole website design was of your own work?

FVM – Yes it was indeed, it’s something that I’ve always had a keen interest in and when it comes to the VMA website it does get my full attention.

SW – Any other web projects?

FVM – Yes I recently launched a new business directory website UK Business Link which has gone down a treat with submissions. It really has taken off faster than I imagined.

SW – Ok now tell us about your painting, you’ve been a fulltime artist for just over five years now, how has it been?

FVM – (Sighs) Well its been a little bit of a rollercoaster ride really as I said we have been going from strength to strength since the start, but even then their were hurdles which some I didn’t quiet make it over. I put everything into painting and forgot the life I was living which sucked badly. I started surfing about 3 years ago which made me realise that there were more to life than stressing out about what I couldn’t get right in my art. And so I found new inspiration in painting seascapes which was a real turning point for me personally.

SW: Which brings me to your new collection of canvas paintings inspired by your surfing and life experiences, are these going to be amongst the best of your collections to date?

FVM – Well we put a few of the new wave surf art on the website and they were gone before the week was out… I was astonished so I’ve now kept back all the new surf art paintings for 2010. I do believe this is going to be a big hit in 2010 as we always do our best to push new designs from my collection out into the public eye. I’ve also been working on some agricultural paintings so watch this space.

SW – Brilliant we look forward to it. Now are you going to leave the website alone or are we expecting another facelift next week?

FVM – (Laughs) Get the f*&k out of my studio…

New Collection of Canvas Paintings 'Tides of Time' Surf Art

The new modern contemporary art designs is inspired by the artists passion and love for the surfing lifestyle and culture surrounding Cornwall. A bodyboarder himself Fabrizio uses the energy created in his intense surfing sessions to inspire him to paint in such a unique style that he has done so for so many years.

His new series of canvas paintings is currently only available as limited edition prints as the original work themselves won't be on sale until early 2010. Check it out for yourself. If you're interested in reserving an original piece or commissioning a piece for 2010 please get in touch with the artist via the Van Marciano Art.com website. Fabrizio also plans to release some of this new collection to several galleries in Cornwall so watch this space. As he completes more works on this collection they will be added here shortly.

Original Canvas Paintings for Christmas

This will be our 5th Christmas in business and we're still ploughing through the hard times of the recession, we feel a little humble as we hope to enter 2010 on a high. Anyhow Christmas is certainly on its way, and what better way to put a smile on that special someones face than to give an original hand painted canvas painting this Christmas.

Over the recent months we've added quite a large number of fresh new canvas paintings to our gallery and online shop. There is also the opportunity to purchase artwork in other sizes other than what is illustrated on our website, direct from our studio in north Devon as each detailed page now has Buy it Now buttons on other sizes available. Two weeks ago we teamed up with DHL t0 provide an even better, speedier delivery service to both mainland and international shoppers. In all we have over 200 colours, sizes and themes to choose from our online shop, so we believe there is something for everyone, and even if you still can't find what you're looking for then we can still customise a piece of artwork for you all in time for Christmas. We're also offering a professional gift-wrap service for canvas paintings given as presents.

We've recently been reviewed and approved by iSafeSite.org and have been issued with our seal of approval for meeting the minimum safety and quality assurance requirements as well as security, trust and privacy in online shopping. So far I've put in about 22 hours into this painting and the progress I'd like to say I'm relatively happy with so far. In some places you will notice that I've re-shaded some of the darker areas which I did yesterday. I'll probably be doing this until I'm happy with the overall shading of the painting itself. I've tried painting and shading as close to natural light as possible. This enables me to get a natural look and feel to the style of painting that I'm pretty new to and is certainly different from my other canvas paintings. When I took the picture it wasn't really a nice summers day to be honest so I've added some light, imagining that it was a beautiful day that day. So I begin with working on the initial colour base using medium strength acrylic colours, working with long strokes adding lighter shades as I arrive to the horizon which I do a lot of in my work. Today I also spent an hour or so outlining the main parts of the harbour and houses in pencil before starting with shading in the lighter sides of the buildings (where the light source is coming from)... As you know we create our canvas paintings from an original idea based from inspiring photographs taken on our Cornish road trips from time to time. A while back we stayed in St Ive's where I was commissioning a number of paintings for a hotel down there. I remember looking out of the window and seeing the lighthouse over at Godrevy and thought to myself that would be a great subject to use in some of my paintings. Anyway after some time 'A Day At St Ives' was born, an acrylic modern seascape setting painted in duck egg blue and raw umber which featured the lighthouse in the distance.

Little did I know that I would receive over 25 commissions this year purely based on this original creation. Since then I've put the brush to work on some new canvas paintings based on 'A Day At St Ives'.

I do believe that this shade represents an overwhelming presence of tranquility light and hope and I've seen how it can light up even the darkest of rooms where very little light shines through. As we fall into autumn we hope to have quite a few new duck egg blue canvas paintings available to buy from our online store.

A Closer Look at Our Canvas Paintings

His first painting sold in November of 2003 for around about ten pounds. This sparked the artist to devote all of his spare time into painting and learning the ropes of creating stunning original canvas paintings in a unique and modern contemporary style. The website was not launched until spring 2004 where Fabrizio was responsible for its entire design and layout even to this day.

Fabrizio had built a solid customer base and loyalty as well as unrivalled customer service. His experience and qualification gained in sales and customer service in his previous employment has enabled him to bring customers back for more at Van Marciano Art. He has a driving passion and commitment to fulfilling everyone's requests whether its a commission order or order placed from his online art store.

With very close to 3,000 collectors worldwide, and an ever-growing stock of some of the most breathtaking hand painted canvas art to be found on the internet today Van Marciano Art.com is the way forward and an essential online outlet for decorative wall hangings.

Each of our canvas paintings is created uniquely and in most cases has a strong meaning to the artist, today more than ever. As almost all of Fabrizio's inspiration comes from his love for the Cornish coastline, the ocean and bodyboarding, there is always a story to tell with most of his pieces of artwork. Fabrizio paints in an array of colours and can customise any shade to match existing interior designs such as soft furnishings and decor.

Whether its a commissioned piece of artwork or a purchase from our online art store, we are here at your service. This time of year always brings out some of the most beautiful ocean sunsets ever to grace the British shores, and I feel it does this best in Cornwall. I have managed to accumulate quite a number of photographs from my recent surfing trips this summer, and having been back in the studio for less than two weeks, I have already turned one of my photographs into a beautiful sunset canvas painting. I have created this one in my popular contemporary style in the colours of deep red and crimson so enjoy. Dont forget to check out the lastest gallery additions each day at vanmarcianoart.com

Canvas Paintings by Van Marciano Art
