Many, from experts to engineers agree that megapixel count has been promoted (by camera stores and camera companies) as a misleading marketing gimmick for years. My argument—and my test—maintains that 5 or 6 megapixels is plenty for enlargements up to, say, 16-by-24 inch posters.
There were still a few naysayers who don't believe the results. This one was typical: "Why do you insist in calling it a pixel myth? Other things being equal, 8 megapixels DOES give a higher quality than 5; you just can't see it."
(Um, dude? If you can't see any difference, then it's not higher quality.)
In this Article, I'd like to expound upon a couple of points that my print column didn't have room for.
First, one reason WHY a few more megapixels don't produce any visual differences in the print.
Let me tease you first with this question: How much bigger can I print a 10-megapixel photo than a 5-megapixel photo?
Most people answer, "twice as big" or even "four times as big."
But they're wrong. In fact, doubling the megapixels of a photo actually lets you add only 20 percent more area to each edge.
Here's the math. A 5-megapixel photo might measure 1944 x 2592 pixels. When printed at, say, 180 dots per inch, that's about 11 by 14 inches.
A 10-megapixel photo (2736 x 3648 pixels), meanwhile, yields a 180-dpi print that's about 15 by 20 inches—under three inches more on each margin!
Upping the resolution by even smaller amounts (from 5 to 7 megapixels, for example) produces an even tinier difference—too small to bother with.
Meanwhile, cramming more pixels onto a camera's sensor can actually LOWER the quality of the photo. A former Kodak manager wrote to explain it this way: "Too many megapixels can actually impair a camera's performance. For example, the typical sensor in a consumer camera is 0.5-0.7 inches. The more millions of pixels, the smaller each pixel must be—and the smaller the pixel, the less light-gathering efficiency it has, and the worse the camera performs in low-light or stop-action shots."
Now then: At the end of the Article, I pointed out that megapixels have become a handy crutch for consumers shopping for a camera. They'd come to rely on it as a letter grade that made comparison shopping easy—and camera makers exploited this fact. "Well, heck, this one has 10 megapixels! That's a lot better than this 6-megapixel model!"
But a million factors are far more important than the megapixels. The question is: Can we come up with a new one-digit crutch? Can we propose a more meaningful comparison factor?
Lots of you said yes, the sensor size is far more important. After all, it's undisputed that a 6-megapixel Nikon D40 digital S.L.R. takes better pictures than a 10-megapixel shirt-pocket camera, because its sensor is relatively gigantic. Its individual pixel sensors can be larger and soak in more light, even if there are fewer of them.
Unfortunately, the camera makers and salespeople aren't going to help you out here. You're not going to see starbursts in the ads saying, "3/4-INCH SENSOR"! But you should.

If you can do the math—you can find sensor sizes reported at camera-review Web sites, like steves-digicams.com, dpreview.com, and dcresource.com—you'll be well rewarded. There are a million factors to consider when you buy a camera, but this one's a fairly good predictor of picture quality.

"Incidentally, where the megapixel myth really goes berserk is with camera phones. Limited real estate forces the camera modules to be tiny, which means that the pixels get tiny--well under 2 microns--when the marketing people force the engineers to increase the pixel counts, because megapixels sell. Unfortunately, tiny pixels are noisy, work poorly in low light, and may not be utilized due to a physical phenomenon called lens diffraction. Engineers are well aware of the problems, and they keep butting heads with the marketing people.

Ethical hacking, also known “The White Hat” as penetration testing, intrusion testing or red teaming is used to find loopholes in an IT system and break into it. An ethical hacker is a computer and network expert who attacks a security system on behalf of its owners, seeking vulnerabilities that a malicious hacker could exploit. This work is ethical because it is performed to increase the safety of the computer systems, but only at the request of the company that owns the system and specifically to prevent others from attacking it. With the increasing use of the internet, it has become an essential part of IT security industry today.

Industry status
Last year ethical hacking was estimated to be a US$ 3.8 billion industry in the US alone. According to Nasscom, India will require at least 77,000 ethical hackers every year whereas we are producing only 15,000 in a year, currently. Ethical hacking is growing at a tremendous pace and offers a plethora of lucrative job opportunities.

Government fields
Government departments like CBI, Military Intelligence, R&AW.They Need Highly skilled ethical hackers in their cyber cells to get information on various suspicious criminal and terrorist activities. They need highly skilled brains on watch 24x7 to keep safe their servers and sensitive data. As the criminals are becoming more and more Skilled, even more skilled people are needed.

Skillset required
First and foremost is the ability to write programmes in many programming languages like C, C++, Perl, Python, and Ruby. For those working with web applications, Microsoft .NET and PHP are vital. Knowledge of assembly language is also essential for those who want to analyse disassembled binaries. Knowledge of a variety of operating systems (Microsoft Windows, various versions of Linux, etc) is critical. Experience with various network devices, including switches, routers and firewalls is also important. An ethical hacker also should have a basic understanding of TCP/IP protocols such as SMTP, ICMP and HTTP. In addition to technical skills, an ethical hacker needs good soft skills. Perhaps the most important skill, however, is adaptability. When testing software and systems, ethical hackers never know what will come up, so the ability to be resourceful is vital.

Growth areas
The information security industry is going at a current worldwide growth rate of 21%. Frost & Sullivan have estimated that there are 2.28 million information security professionals worldwide which is expected to increase to nearly 4.2 million by 2015. The need for information security for security compliance in India is mandatory for all companies with an IT backbone. The requirement for such personnel is especially high with organisations in the IT/ITES space.

Remuneration
A fresher may work as an intern for a couple of months and can start with a minimum of Rs 4.5 lakh per annum. With one year of experience, one can expect upto Rs 10-12 lakh per annum. Those with work experience five years or more can get 20+ lakh per annum.

Awesome apps that can change your old boring Android Interface.
You have often wondered ,how you want to change your old android interface.
If you are bored of your old interface, check out the new apps that can change the look, experience on your device.
1. Aviate
One of the recent launching app for android, its really a primarily
launcher which replaces your default Android launcher app.It gives a lot
new experience in its new pattern of home screens ,folders, notification
bars and drawers. Its totally different from the default UI. The Aviate
has a complete different approach, it keeps changing according to your
usage (as well as your location and time during a day). Suppose you are
travelling, this app can suggest you the music that suits for the
location, the navigation apps and even foursquare(app which can tell you
where you can go out to meet friends at the moment). The interesting
feature of this app is that the launcher keeps learning as your usage
increases which is really interesting. As we all know ,nothing is
perfect, minor bugs have been detected which are needed to be cleared by
the developers.Well you won't find any serious issues like crashes or
lags.

Aviate is available on Google playstore.
To download Aviate click on the link below.
                                                                     http://bit.ly/1cApGJr

2.Themer
Well this one is really cool in its layout, homescreen(which are
customizable). This is same as Aviate which is launcher app for the
default android launcher. Themer is developed by MyColorScreen .Well
this one is the one of the best app if wish to create(more specifically
transform) your Android Smartphone's looks and layouts.Currently there
are more than 55000 unique homescreens at themers for you to
download(depends on the specification of the device). At first , you may
find difficult in managing the layouts and designs as every design and
layout differ from one another, but if you starts understanding it,it is
the best, amazing ,cool UI you can get.

Well this app is working for all android 4.1 smartphones(not sure about
working in tablets,as it still in developing for big screens).

Themer is available on Google playstore.

To download Themer click on the link below.

http://bit.ly/IUanR1

3. GO Launcher EX

This is the most popular and downloaded launcher app for
Android. It contains vast range of customizable themes, making it so
popular, perhaps the most downloaded launcher app for Android
Smartphones. The appreciative feature of this app is that is that you
can customize your icons, wallpaper and lock-screen with lots of themes
and patterns. And other important feature is that ,you can change the
launcher app to default Android app launcher easily.(It also contains
Alienware theme)

GO launcher EX is available on Google playstore.

To download GO Launcher EX click on the link below.

http://bit.ly/1c8bROF

4.Cover

Its just like Aviate, the app learns according to your usage and
keeps updated with your location and the time of the day. Well it seems
it is made for screen lock app if you use Android device(more
specifically smartphones). The latest and most recently used apps are
placed at the top in a clean looking screen. This launcher is good ,user
friendly. This app is handy in checking the updates and needed
downloads.

than completely replacing the design pattern.Another feature is it has
its own lock screen, its own wallpaper ,icons and widgets. This app is
developed by Xiaomi, a chinese smartphone and app maker. The launcher app
can be used in Android devices using 2.3 and above. Many variety of
customizable themes are available at Xiaomi's store.

As i'm writing after a very long time, i thought to write about something that would enable people to be safe.
5 Password Myths You Should Stop Believing
1. A file, folder, computer, or account protected by a password is
safe.
Read the rest of the article and learn why that statement is no longer true.
2. Your passwords are secure as long as you only deal with reputable online businesses. Big online businesses that serve tens of millions of customers worldwide are expected to hold a treasure trove of personal information – the favorite diet of identity thieves. Therefore, these companies are always in the crosshairs of the world’s most highly-skilled hackers.
Take these recent examples, for instance:
LinkedIn - A file with 6.5 million passwords from LinkedIn accounts appeared in an online forum based in Russia
Yahoo - 450,000 usernames and passwords from Yahoo! were posted online
Sony (Playstation) - This massive breach involved 77 million Sony Playstation user accounts containing passwords and other personal information.
Reputable businesses like LinkedIn, Yahoo! and Sony should be implementing the strongest security countermeasuresavailable. But even these are not strong enough to withstand attacks all the time…
3. A password input box that obscures characters as you type hides your password from prying
eyes. The dots or asterisks displayed on a password input box are just meant to prevent people near you from seeing what you’re entering in there. How the password is actually stored or sent is a different story.
4. “Strong” passwords are difficult to compromise. Even if your password is long and complex (e.g. a combination of uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers and other non-alphanumeri c characters), if it is stored or sent in plaintext, you’re toast if the hackers get hold of it. Plaintext means it can be viewed exactly the way it has been entered, using easily accessible tools. For example, if your password is Super$ecretp@Ss, a free downloadable tool like Ettercap enables your password to be viewed exactly in that form: Super$ecretp@Ss. If, however, your password is encrypted, it means that it has been scrambled; it cannot be viewed using the same tool (Ettercap). It might be displayed something like this: xt%y&1sm^*gt;>2. Unfortunately, many software applications still store and send passwords in plaintext. That is why hackers still find the first three items in the next section so
effective.
5. Hackers use sophisticated tools to steal your password. Actually, many successfulhackers don’t require sophisticated tools to acquire passwords. Some simply use crafty conversational skills. In the highly publicised hacking of Wired Senior Writer Mat Honan, the hackers made extensive use of social engineering, a technique that relies heavily on the art of deception

Facebook has released an update to the Facebook Messenger app for iOS and Android that brings with it a complete overhaul of the UI. The design clearly looks like it was made for the new iOS 7 but carries over to the Android version as well.

At launch you’ll notice that the older dull gray and Facebook blue
colors have been replaced by bright white and a brilliant blue
combination. There are no more gradients and drop shadows anymore and
the UI has a clean, flat UI that is consistent with the rest of iOS 7.

The new app makes it easy to see who is online and who isn’t. It also
lets you send messages to people who are not on Facebook over SMS but
you will have to sync your contacts with the app for them to appear in
your list. Most of the other features remain the same.

The new design is available on both iOS and Android and even though
it is optimized for iOS 7 it still looks great on Android. I’m hoping
the main Facebook app also gets this updated UI shortly as it is long
overdue. You can download the Facebook Messenger update from the links
below.

According to the International Data Corporation (IDC) Worldwide
Quarterly Mobile Phone Tracker, the Android platform just crossed 80%
marketshare in the third quarter of 2013. With 211.6 million smartphones
shipped in this quarter, Android continues to maintain its dominant
position in the market, this time reaching an all time high with a 51.3%
growth over last year. Samsung singlehandedly contributed to almost 40%
of the total shipments this quarter.

Android is not the only platform doing well. Although not quite there
yet in terms of total marketshare, Microsoft's Windows Phone platform
grew by 156% year-over-year, reaching 3.6% marketshare in the third
quarter in terms of shipment. Nokia alone contributed to 93.2% of the
total shipments.

iOS also continued it's slower but continued growth, with a 12.9% marketshare that is 25.6% over last year.

One thing to remember that these numbers only take into account
shipments and not actual devices sold or actually being used, which
could paint a different picture.

CyanogenMod ROM a breeze. Of course, the user’s Android smartphone must
be on the list compatible devices to get the special treatment.

You can download the CyanogenMod installer in the Google Play Store right now.

To Do so we will be using “netstat” command in windows. If you want to
know the IP address of a specific person on facebook or orkut or any
chat service, there is only one way: Just invite or ping him for a chat
and while chat is ON open ‘Command Prompt‘ on your PC (Start
>Run>cmd).
note: before trying this make sure you close all
the other tabs in your browser. and only facebook is open. also if
possible delete all the history and cache from your browser.
When command prompt opens Type the following command and hit Enter.
netstat -an
And you will get all established connections IP addresses there. Note down all the suspicious IP’s.
The Next Step is to Trace that user using his IP address.
To do so we will be using IP tracer service. Go to the below address
and paste the IP address in the box that says “lookup this ip or
website”. and it will show you the location of the user.
http:// www.ip-adress.co m/ip_tracer/
It will show you all the information about that user along with his ISP
and a Location in the MAP. Now in the MAP Just click on “click for big
ip address location” in the big picture you can actually zoom in. and
try to recognize the area. If any serious matter just note down the ISP
details in that page and contact them about the IP. they will respond
you.
Other netstat commands:
-a Displays all connections and listening ports.
-e Displays Ethernet statistics. This may be combined with the -s option.
-n Displays addresses and port numbers in numerical form.
-p proto Shows connections for the protocol specified by proto; proto may be TCP or UDP.
-s option to display per-protocol statistics, proto may be TCP, UDP, or IP.
-r Displays the routing table.
-s Displays per-protocol statistics. By default, statistics are shown for TCP, UDP and IP; the
-p option may be used to specify a subset of the default.

Here's something you probably haven't even heard of yet. It's a
little something that Google engineers have been working on for over two
years, which will change the very way your Android smartphone runs
apps.

ART, which is short for Android Runtime, aims to replace Dalvik and
change the way your Android-powered smartphone runs. Dalvik is the one
responsible for running apps on Android. Its runtime uses the JIT
complier (Just-In-Time) to interpret bycode, which is a partial version
of the original application code. ART uses the AOT process
(Ahead-Of-Time) and basically pre-compiling the bycode into machine
language the moment an app is installed, making them in essence native
apps.

This will eliminate the need for a virtual machine or interpreting
code, which will cut startup times greatly. Currently ART is in
experimental stages but you can still enable it on your KitKat Nexus
device by going to Settings > Developer options > Select runtime.
Keep in mind that this will require a reboot and will take about 10
minutes to boot all apps up again. Also don't try this on AOSP builds
right now as it makes the OS crash and become unusable.

Initial observations show that execution time on most apps has been
cut in half. And once Google gets around to making ART official, the
runtime process would be market ready and much faster.

The compromises with this method of running apps is that each app
would take a longer time to install, which isn't ideal if you're coming
from a backup and are waiting for loads of apps to install. Also the app
would consume more storage because the bycode is being fully compiled -
around 10% to 20% more.

Still if ART proves ready for prime time it would promise better app
loading times, increased battery life and superior multitasking.

A developer at XDA Forum has found a way to access Google Now in all almost every language supported by the Jelly Bean OS. Sletmo,
the coder behind the tweak, has created a modified version of the
Google Now application, which is compatible with any system language.

To start using Google Now in your language, all you need to do is to
replace the original system app with the modified version. Of course,
you will have to root your smartphone in order to complete the process
successfully.

The instructions to install the modified version of Google Now are
available at the source link below. However, please proceed with the
instructions only if you are sure what you are doing.
It’s been a bit over a week since iOS 7 became officially available
to download and install on older iPhones and it has already hit around
60% adoption rate. Only a small part of that is due to newly purchased
iPhone 5s and 5c units, as both combined account for around 2% of all
iPhones according to Mixpanel.

Mixpanel has iOS 7 adoption at a hair over 62%, having surpassed the
dwindling iOS 6 share sometime on September 20 (just a couple of days
after release).

Another tracking firm, Fiksu, has the iOS 7 adoption at around 58%
currently after a 60% peak. According to Fiksu numbers, the adoption of
the new OS version is quicker than the iOS 6 adoption, which itself was
quicker than that of version 5.

Those numbers are probably not 100% accurate as they use apps to
track the install base, but they should be close to the truth. They are
unquestionably impressive and a testament of what can be achieved when a
single company runs the hardware and the software show and there are
only a few devices (in terms of different models) to update.

A new kickstarter campaign aims to let your 3.5mm audio jack become an extra button for your Android smartphone.

You can configure the button to do a variety of configurable one-touch actions like turn on your flashlight, take a quick photo, or even start phone call/audio recording.

You can customize the actions the button will take through the dedicated Pressy app. You can select different actions for single, double and long clicks.

The Pressy app lets you perform all sorts of actions, and you can
even add custom ones. And, if you ever need your audio jack for its
intended purpose, your headset button can take on the same functionality
as Pressy with the help of the app. Way cool!

Pressy has already met almost $380,000 of its $40,000 target and , so odds
are we’ll be seeing these around soon enough. Check out their Kickstarter page to make a donation.

The new XP941 PCIe-based SSDs are also smaller than their predecessors making them ideal for use in ultrabooks.

The SSDs will come in 128 GB, 256 GB and 512 GB variants. The new XP941 SSD allows for 1400 MB/s read, due to the PCIe 2.0 interface. It weighs around 6 grams (compared to the average of around 50 grams of 2.5″ SATA SSDs) and offers a seventh of the 2.5″ SATA SSDs volume, leaving more room for stuff like battery.

To put things in perspective, Samsung points that the new XP941 SSD will be able to read 10 HD movies at around 5 GB each in 10 seconds.

Currently the mid 2013 MacBook Air is the first device on the market rocking Samsung’s PCIe SSD but other PC makers are lined up for the upgrade.

Evernote is one of the (if not the) best and most complex ways of storing and organizing notes and all sorts of content. It’s latest update for Android finally brings one of the most often requested featured – reminders.

Version 5.1 adds the ability to make just about every note into a reminder and set a day and time for Evernote to remind you about it.
The date and time-choosing interface has been revamped in the latest Evernote for Android, which slightly reminds of the way Google re-made its Calendar interface. If the new look doesn’t inspire you there’s still an option to go to the old-fashioned style of doing things.
When you create a reminder Evernote bumps it up to the top of your list and checking a reminder as done will literally strike it in the app, much like with Any.DO. You can find the app in the Source link below or via Google Play on your own device.
A few images portraying Nexus-branded concept devices show us what some fans may be expecting from future-generation Nexus products.

Since it’s the weekend, and we’re just a few days away from Google
I/O 2013, these concepts are a great pastime while we wait to see what
new products Google will unveil. Designer Bob Freking has imagined what
future Nexus smartphones and tablets could look like, and in what
follows you’ll be able to see renders for various devices including the
Nexus 5, Nexus 8 and Nexus 11. And their listed specs look rather
reasonable.

LG Nexus 5

The Nexus 5 has been recently said to be, like its predecessor, awarded to LG. While that's not yet a fact, we’re not surprised to see Freking offer viewers an LG Nexus 5 design.

In addition to the Nexus 5 render, the designer also mentions
potential specs and features for the handset. We’re looking at a 5-inch
smartphone with 1920 x 1080 True IPS+ display, 1.9GHz quad-core
Snapdragon 800 CPU, Adreno 330 GPU, 13-megapixel camera, 2-megapixel
front-facing camer and the “latest version of Android.”

Pricing would start at $299 for the 16GB model.

Asus Nexus 8

Instead of a second-generation Nexus 7, like the one we saw recently in an analyst’s report, Freking imagines a slightly bigger tablet: the Asus Nexus 8.

The Nexus 8 render also comes with specs and features: 8-inch 1920 x
1200 IPS LCD display, 1.7GHz quad-core Snapdragon 600 CPU, Adreno 320
GPU, 3-megapixel camera and 2-megapixel front-facing shooter. The
“latest version of Android” will obviously be found on board.

The 8GB model would cost $199, according to the designer.

Samsung Nexus 11

Finally, we have a Samsung Nexus 11 concept – after all, Samsung is rumored to work on such a device.
The Nexus 11 would offer us an 11-inch Super PLS display with 2560 x
1600 resolution, 1.8GHz quad-core Tegra 4 processor, 72-core NVIDIA
GeForce GPU, 5-megapixel camera, 2-megapixel front-facing camera and
– you've guessed it – the “latest version of Android.” We're looking at a
starting price of $399 for the 16GB version.

While we did say the specs were reasonable for these three imagined
products, we'll also have to say that Tegra 4 doesn't look like it
belongs here, especially considering that Samsung has its own chip for
such products. Replace that with an Exynos CPU, maybe the Exynos 5 Octa,
and you'd have a device that could be closer to reality – in such a
case the GeForce GPU would have to go too.

On Monday, Samsung Electronics announced it had developed a new “5G” wireless standard that could be hundreds of times faster than today’s 4G networks.

The new wireless standard is at least seven years away, so you won’t be streaming full seasons of Game Of Thrones in 3D soon. And seven years is a lifetime in tech—taking nothing away from Samsung’s accomplishment, I’d be surprised if we didn’t see a few standards competing for our bandwidth by 2020.

Already, Alcatel-Lucent (ALU) has a ridiculously fast landline system in France. In the U.S., Google (GOOG) Fiber has brought gigabit Internet to Kansas City, Mo., with Austin, Tex., and Provo, Utah, next up for installation. That’s because the rush for more bandwidth is akin to an oil rush. Get data-transmission speeds fast enough, and it doesn’t mean people can simply open Web pages faster; it means whole new businesses can thrive.

For Samsung, one of those businesses is ultra-high definition TV. This new, incredibly high-resolution format was a big deal at this year’s Consumer Electronics Show but remains more theoretical than real, as movies encoded in this format have a file size that would sink a ship. Trying to stream a UHD movie over today’s networks takes days, not minutes. But if Samsung’s new network technology is for real, UHD will suddenly become viable. And if you’re Samsung, that’s nothing to sneeze at, since you’re already the world’s largest TV manufacturer.

Samsung also said that a faster wireless network could help give rise to advanced medical services, since doctors would need high-resolution images to work remotely. That also lines up with the conglomerate’s goal of expanding into health-care technology. Indeed, the company’s goal is to be a major player in that industry by 2020—the same year its new wireless standard is expected.

Wireless standards used to be developed by consortiums that included wireless providers. But Samsung’s move into this field indicates two things: Bandwidth is the life-giving force that allows new devices (and new revenue streams) to flourish, and innovation in this area may no longer come from third-party groups, but directly from the businesses that stand to benefit the most from it.

At the JP Morgan Technology, Media & Telecom Conference in Boston
today, Tami Reller of Microsoft announced that the Windows 8.1 update,
previously carrying the Blue moniker, is going to be free.

Microsoft will launch the update through its Windows Store with a
public preview becoming available on June 26 (coinciding with the Build
conference). In the meantime, the company will unveil the update’s newly
added features and fixes.

She touted that the Windows Store now offers more than 70,000 apps. That’s 20,000 more than the store packed just two months ago.

An exact date for the release of the final version of Windows 8.1
hasn’t been disclosed yet, but it’s expected to launch around the end of
the year. Expect an RTM version of the update around August, provided
it keeps the schedule that Windows 8 established last year.

NVIDIA surprised everyone at CES with its Project SHIELD handheld
gaming console and now the chip maker released the full specs along with
launch date and price. SHIELD is powered by NVIDIA’s own Tegra 4
chipset, which packs for Cortex-A15 cores, a fifth power-saver core and a
mobile GeForce GPU.

The gadget runs pure Android 4.2 with TegraZone pre-installed – this is a repository of Tegra-optimized games. In an impressive demo, SHIELD ran a ported PlayStation 3 game with better graphics than the PS3.

But since it’s Android, you get access to all the Google services –
Play Store for games, movies and music – and there’s all the
connectivity you’d expect from a smartphone, including GPS and Bluetooth
3.0. Wi-Fi uses a 2×2 antenna for better connectivity.

What sets Project SHIELD apart from smartphones is the controllers
that is similar to that of the PS3 or Xbox 360 with two analog sticks,
D-pad, A/B/X/Y buttons, two analog triggers and two bumpers.

Games can be played on the 5″ 720p touchscreen or you can use the
miniHDMI to plug in the console to a TV. Or you can play a computer game
on the SHIELD – if your PC has an NVIDIA GPU (GTX650 or better), it can
stream the video to the 5″ screen and you can control the game from
the controller, which is great if you need to continue playing while
away from the computer (like you can with the Nintendo Wii U).

Project SHIELD comes with 16GB of built-in storage and a microSD card
slot if you need more (high-end Android games can eat up several GB
each). Sonic The Hedgehog 4 Episode II and Expendable: Rearmed will be preinstalled.

Project SHIELD will cost $350 with pre-orders starting in less than a week on May 20 (you can sign up for updates here) and it will ship in June. Newegg, GameStop, Micro Center and Canada Computers will carry the handheld.

A couple of accessories will also be available – a carrying case for
$40 and custom lids (glossy black or carbon fiber) for $20.

The BBM has been one of BlackBerry OS most popular features, years before there was iMessaging, Viber, or WhatsApp. Today, at the company's annual Blackberry Live 2013 conference, CEO Thorsten Heins announced that this summer they will make the trademark BlackBerry messaging service available as a third-party app to the two most popular smart platforms - iOS and Android.

Initially, the BlackBerry Messenger or BBM, as it's more commonly known, will only support BBM chats, multi-person chats, voice note sharing, and BlackBerry Groups, where BBM users are able to set up groups to share calendar, photos, files, etc.

However, as Heins stated on stage, they have plans of making BBM as fully featured on those other platforms as possible. BlackBerry has plans to expand the functionality of the iOS and Android apps with some of the new BBM features such as Voice and video calls, Screenshare, and the just announced Channels. These will come as subsequent updates.

BBM Channels is a new way for BBM users to connect with the businesses, brands, celebrities and groups they are passionate about.

The BBM will be available to iPhones, running at least iOS 6.0, and to droids, running at least Android Ice Cream Sandwich.

In its continuing quest to streamline its online services, Google
brought three of its most popular goodies under the same roof. In its
official Gmail blog, the search giant announced that, beginning over the
next couple of weeks, Gmail, Google Drive, and Google+ will merge into
the same 15GB pool of shared cloud storage.

The move by Google, allows users to allocate their available storage
any way they like between the three services. An updated Google Drive
storage page will be updated to show the usage of the storage space.

Google has done away with the old Gmail storage upgrade plans. New
ones will apply for all three services starting at $4.99 a month for
additional 100GB.

HTC HD2 has been one of the most developer friendly devices for a long time now. The smartphone was launched with Windows Mobile on board and later, the device was hacked to run everything from Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, through Ubuntu to Windows RT.

Now, the developers have ported the recently launched Firefox OS to run on HTC HD2. Unfortunately, the ported OS has a few issues with SIM not being detected, low volume, camera and mass storage for now. However, the developer is said to be working on fixes and a bug free version of the OS is expected to be available in the coming days.
The Firefox OS for the HTC HD2 is available in the source link below
and please do remember that the process of flashing your phone involves
some risk and would void your warranty. So, proceed with the
instructions only if you know what you are up to.
