alex d asked:

My wife and I are very concerned about preventing pregnancy (we have one child and both trying ). She doesn’t want to use birth control other than condoms because of side effects, also she’s kind of religious and I guess was taught that they can be wrong in some way..I don’t know, but I’m sure I could convince her otherwise since she’s apparently not against condoms. She doesn’t like it when I call her a hypocrite. Anyways, So…we use stinkin condoms! I freakin hate the crap out of condoms. I am now considering a vasectomy because I love sex, ya know actual sex…without a stupid rubber. For the meanwhile I’m trying to find the absolute best condom for pure feeling, I don’t care about preventing STD’s obviously, I’ve heard skin condoms are nice?

So any advice? As far as what to do, Vasectomy? (don’t want kids any time soon, and really, I’m happy with just one, but ya never now how we’ll feel in 5-10 years (I’m 26). Birth control? are there any forms that don’t have much side effects/risks? Or condoms? any suggestions which are the best for pleasure? Oh how I long for the good ol’ fashioned raw intercourse….sigh. Vasectomy sounding better and better….. Overall, I simply cannot keep going on using condoms, guess I want to have my cake and eat it too. And please don’t tell me, “well, being married you should be open to having more children…blah blah. One is quite enough for now. Anyone in with a similar experience?

The Quad Squad asked:

ok so i stopped taking the pill 2 months ago because i ran out and honestly i was hoping that my boyfriends insurance would cover a vasectomy because he is willing to get one so i don’t have to take the pill any more but it doesn’t cover it since a vasectomy isn’t medical related and is his choice. So I am thinking about an IUD or maybe some pill that i don’t have to take every single day. I mean how much worse can the side effects be than the every day pill? I don’t want the kind that makes me have 4 periods a year because to me a period is a reasurance of me not being pregnant and i like that security. I have heard horror stories about the nuva ring plus i am small and i don’t think i like that option. what are your stories of nuva ring good and bad and what specific pills can i take. I refuse to take the shot because my ex best friends ex girlfriend he was with for 2 years turned her into a complete jealos psycho. seriously when she quit taking the shot she became much nicer.
if it was Too much info then why bother answering. can you say immature….
My stupid @ss sister said that they won’t give you an IUD unless you are in a stable relationship which she defines as marraige. I am NEVER getting married but i have been with my boyfriend for 3 years and we are made for each other (I’m not a teenager) and she doesn’t seem to think 3 years is a stable relationship. i think she is a tard. Don’t you
I don’t have friends. I got my boyfriend and my pets. (10 of them) I never said my friend had a bad experience i said some people. meaning people on answers.
Hmmm well maybe I will have to have my boyfriend call his insurance company. He has tenn care which is an insurance where he pays $0 on perscriptions, office visits, dental and emergency. Because the vasectomy truely is our safest and best option. ecspecially since he is WILLING to get it so i don’t have to take birth control. ( I love my boyfriend!!)
I don’t think those impant birth controls are offers by the free clinic. (I get my birth controls for $0) I haven’t had insurance for 2 years.

diamondgirl21 asked:

I have been on loestrin for 3 weeks i stopped the medication on friday because the
side effects were too strong her nurse told me that the doctor said to stop as well because ive been having realy bad side effects . Today i went in to see her and she starts telling me that i had no side effects and that its all psychological because my pregnancy was a burden on us and a nightmare to her because of all the er visits during my Pregnancy and that i needed a psychiatrist because im too young to have children(im 24) my hubby(25)
then my hubby tell her that im having side effects from the hormones from the BC and that she knew that because last pregnancy i had bad effects from the ortrotrycyclin and that why did she give her more of that type of BC.
Then she told me hubby yull have to prove it first. Then she told my hubby well i reccomend you see a psychiatrist as well. Through all this she sounded bothered and angry. it is not her business about what age im having children at and she called our pregnancies a burden while we consider them a miracle we feel insulted and outraged. She also said that i should never have children anymore because i have 2 already and told my hubby to get a vasectomy.
And i was in the ER 10. Hrs. B4 i saw her they told me i was withdrawing from the pills and had a really bad rash on my neck and arm.( i dont think a rash is psychological) the er doc said that i needed to see my obgyn asap because of my sensitivity to hormonal contriceptives it was she knew that and stillgave me it. She sounded like an outraged parent and talked really angry. And i thought shed be understanding and gentle since shes a female.

CAustin II asked:

I ask this because there’s a lot of talk recently about female (and now the speculation of male) birth control pills, and the various disadvantages (and the usual boy-vs-girl bitterness characteristic to this section) of each.

My fiancee and I use an IUD, and I suppose I sort of assumed that their use was more common, given that there really aren’t a whole lot of ways that they aren’t superior to pills (they have a pregnancy prevention rate about parallel to vasectomy, they don’t have the hormonal side effects of pills, they don’t have to be ‘remembered,’ etc.) – other than the up-front cost, I suppose, which can be steep, but isn’t out of reach for most people.

How many people use pills as opposed to IUDs? And if so, I suppose I’m genuinely curious why someone would opt for the pill instead?
I suppose I should add, in case knowledge about IUDs is significantly sparser than I thought it was, some basic information about it.

Here’s the Planned Parenthood summary of the method:

We are just sick of them. We want to have children but we would like to be married for awhile (8-12 months) before we concieve.
I’m leery of the pill and its side effects and also Im not certain it would be worth it to go on it for less than a year. Would it?

Are there any other options? I dont want cervical caps or anything that has to be inserted. And he doesnt want a vasectomy. We dont want any costly surgeries etc. as I said, it would only be 8-12 months we would be wanting to put-off having children.

THANKS

I have looked into an IUD, my cervix is too small and would have to be dilated. Since a vasectomy is in the near future, I don’t want to go through that painful process.

Mr. B asked:

Hey everyone, I’m 27 years old and I’ve been considering getting a vasectomy for a couple of years now and really feel like I’m going to go through with it early next year. I know a guy who did it 2 years ago and he told me that it caused him to last longer during sex than he used to, he went from 15-20min. pre-op to 50-60min. post-op. I was wondering if anyone knew of any other potential side effects be it positive or negative that could occur. Thanks for any help!
I don’t want any children at all. I’ve spent alot of time thinking about this (going on about 3 years now) because I know it’s a big decision and all sources will tell you that you should consider vasectomy a PERMANENT solution. I thought at first that I was just young and didn’t like the idea of being tied down but as more time goes by I am finding that I really just DON’T want children and after a recent pregnancy scare I have realized that I definitely don’t want any accidental children. I’m not disgusted with children or anything like that I just don’t want any of my own.

If Oprah can do it, why can’t I? lol….
