Just when ya thought you were safe from what millions of Amerians suffer with,BAM, your one of us. You were loyal to those high ranking official, worked hard and perhaps had a false sense of security then BAM, they cut your throats too. Your out of work! Did you REALLY think that your devotion meant anything to them, did you believe you were that important? If you did you were fooling yourself and now your getting a small taste of what Americans feel everyday. Maybe this will be a eye openers for you who give AMERICAN CITIZENS, who worked and paid taxes all their lives, people down on their luck, disabled or making any kind of federal request for aid a hard time and being rude as if they were now nothing or contributed nothing to this great country

I do feel bad for federal workers that are temporarily out of work. I listen to the news and I hear them complain about how will they live and how will they pay their bills and what are they going to tell their children when the kids ask for something and they can't buy it for them.... well guess what, welcome to the life of millions of Americans. People who struggle financially on a daily basis. ...People who have to tell their children all the time that mommy and daddy can't buy you that toy. People who are unemployed and can't find work. These people make it sound like they are the only ones that know what a struggle is. I understand it is a hardship but give me a break. Stop crying suck it up and do what millions of other Americans do , take it day at a time and get through it. Your struggle is no greater than anyone elses. Your bills are no more important than anyone elses. Your children are no more important than anyone elses. When business gets slow and moneys tight I don't go crying to the media I suck it up and do what I gotta do. If its too much for you then go find a job in the private sector.

Florida Power and Light FPL Problem and Issue

Your never going to believe this but once again there was a problem with utilities in this area of Florida, Broward County Area Code 33026. This time with Florida Power and Light who, dont get me wrong, is a very good utility company. Reliable in most cases but as we know you are only as good as those working for you are. So my issue is with a field service technician who has caused our home a avoidable 8 hour loss of power.

This is a recorded issue and reflects call # 1160 in the event FPL cares to validate this post.

Thursday July 25, 2013 @ 7:30pm all electric power goes out. I did not find this unusual since Florida has frequent outages due to heat and excessive electric use. Not all uncommon and FPL is quick to respond.

I call in to report the outage at 7:45pm making my way through prompts which are actually easy to navigate unlike AT&T's. In my mind the grid is out and I'm sure other have called in also. I am assure by the prompt the issue will be fixed by 10:45pm.

I'm sitting outside are realized my neighbours have service but I do not so I check my meter and notice smoke soot all around the casing. I call FPL back and speak to a real person, without a problem may I add, and inform him that there was a short in meter box. He forwards the info to the field tech who is not yet here.

Finally a tech shows up at around 10:15pm. This guy was not a happy camper and it was obvious he didn't want to be here or out at this time. He opened the meter box and did a power check and visual inspection. He determined that the problem was underground somewhere so he will call in a different technician who will run a temporary line so I have power. He stated he will have someone here in about a hour and his grumpy butt vacated the premises.

I have no electric and he, who is getting paid a good buck, seems to be pissed.

Well now is about 11:30pm so I call in to be told by the prompt that the problem will be fixed by 1:45 am Friday the 26th. OK so I sit in the dark outside and wait.

OK so now it about 2:00am and you guessed it I call in only this time the prompt tells me they have no idea when the electric will be fixed. More waiting with my trusty flash light. So far in spite of the heat and being exhausted I'm handling this well though my wife isn't. Shes somehow is grouchy with me as if I had something to do with it. What can I say I'm sure a few of you guys have taken the rap for things you didn't do.

Now its 3:00am.Out of the blue here comes the cavalry, two big beautiful FP&L trucks! Lights flashing and pulling up in front of my home. It was a beautiful sight. Two men come out as friendly as can be, courteous, polite determined to get me up and running without question. Unlike the first guy who came here.

These guys were ready to hook me up with a temporary hook up. The one tech tested the voltage lines and noticed something different then the first technician. He did a extensive visual check of the cables stating there is power!The problem WAS NOT UNDERGROUND AS THE FIRST TECHNICIAN DETERMINED. He found that the cables have shorted and was able to make the repair within minutes!!! No temporary lines needed, just a simple splice and reconnect!!!!

I went for over 8 hours without service due to the incompetency of the first technician. How could one tech find the problem so quick and the other not see it at all? My service should have been on since 10:15 had the first technician just looked, examined and checked the cables. It was that obvious.

I don't hold FP&L at fault though they should look into this matter and those working for them. The first technician caused alot of avoidable discomfort due to his inability to trouble shoot a simple problem and would have, or maybe already did, cost FP&L some overtime money.

To the two technicians who corrected this problem. I Thank You for your expertise and general respect you gave this homeowner. You have represented FP&L with dignity and professionalism FP&L should be proud of.

AT&T Problem Upadate

Well I finally spoke to AT&T in regards to the outage issue I had for 3 days. Below is the original post and as you can see it took out my 3 phone line and my independent T1 DSL line. I wanted a credit for my lost service which should be automatic if AT&T were a honest and fair company but I found that if you don't call and complain they will not give you anything and act like nothing happened, as the customer service rep did here in my case. Well for all the problems AT&T caused me, the inconvenience, loss of service aggravation etc. etc. guess what they gave me? Please guess!

AT&T PROBLEM AND COMCAST

I have to share this true story with all of you in regards to AT&T. It is 100% true and worth reading if you are trying to decide which provider of phone and Internet services you should choose. Mind you I understand that each at one time or another has technical issues and we have all experienced service interruption along the road. The deciding factor of choice, to me, would be how responsive they are in rectifying the problem. Another factor is actually being able to contact and report a problem under 30 minutes and maybe, just maybe talk to a real person!

Here we go:

Note We use AT&T for our 3 phone lines and dedicated T1 high speed Internet access. We use Comcast for our cable TV connections.

Our Issue is with AT&T

Wednesday July 17th 2013 at 5am noticed we had no telephone or high speed Internet connections. We did have Cable TV. Nothing Nada Zip from AT&T.

Went to a neighbours home after being sure they were awake to see if they have phone service. They did. They did because they have Comcast. I used their Comcast phone to call AT&T and after prompting my way through their system for about 30 minutes hoped they got the message. A recording assured me the problem would be fixed soon. Sure it will.

Thursday July 18th 2013 at 5am.... Nothing Nada Zip from AT&T Dead! That's 24 hours down. From a cell phone I call AT&T same routine, prompt after prompt after prompt BUT they know about the problem. Seems obvious that they make sure no live person is there for you to talk to. Strange isn't it?

Same day two repair people show up to make sure its not MY FAULT inside the house. Nope not my fault and later they finally find the issue is a terminal box four houses down. Water got in it but they cant fix it cause its raining. These repair men had to call is a different crew for this type of repair.

Friday July 19th 2013 at 5am....Nothing Nada Zip again from AT&T! Whats that 48 hours without service? Not possible you must be saying, but true! BUT here it is at 11am I get a call! A call from the service man telling me he fixed the problem. After over 50+ hours I have phone and Internet again!

Now here is what gets me. When I spoke to a AT&T technician at my home he told me AT&T cannot compare to Comcast, on the down low of course. Those with Comcast phone, Internet and TV never lost a signal and their terminal boxes stand side by side in the same puddles and rain. Another thing worth mention is AT&T, at my place, has a Upload and Download speed loss after 5pm. You can set your watch by it and I pinged it. What does this mean? You don't get what your paying for. Comcast had no speed loss.

Today is Saturday. Im going to call AT&T to argue for a credit on my bill. I prompted my way for 20 minutes. Guess what? I think your gonna guess.

North Korean Threats Again

Can we talk street here, plain English? We have been watching North Korea and it's ruler Kim Jong-Un for a while now. See here is our issue, we have been just watching and listening taking every one of the threats as simple bluffs without any credibility. In the meantime North Korea has made great advances in their nuclear missile weapon developments. Well guess what? The United States is so used to just dismissing and not taking these threats serious that sooner or later were going to find a North Korean Nuke up our ass. You mark our words! The bluff ploy is working just the way Kim John-Un intends it to. These people are not as stupid as our government expects us to believe, they do have have nuclear capabilities now don't they? Bluff, bluff, bluff then Bang just when we least expect it. Ask any card player about "The Bluff".

Sanctions? Give us a break. I don't care how many sanctions that are imposed because not one of them so far has impacted North Korea. What good are sanction if there is no muscle behind it or ever used if ya got it! Here is where North Korea has called our bluff every time. They already know that these are nothing more then idle threats where we will do nothing about enforcement.

Its time America. Are we going to wait for another 911? Are we going to wait until countless Americans die again? That's what our government is doing and it doe's not take a genius to see it. Imagine living in California or Alaska or Hawaii knowing these people have actually declared war on the USA and your in range! In essence this is what they did. Can we continue to overlook this fact? Open you eyes people!

If I lived in any of these area's I would be protesting in the streets for protection via action from our government. These people will attack you and sad as it may sound in order for America to strike is for the North Koreans to strike first and kill a few thousand Americans. Don't take our word for it, just look back at history.

In plain English, American need to kick some ass. Not a man on the ground is needed since we know and can pin point all their missile's and defense's and take em out in a very short period. Maybe we should surprise them and finally enforce those sanctions.

Romney Cant Relate

This is not to attack either candidate but a reasonable logical view of Mr. Romney and those who never felt the pain, trials and tribulations the middle and lower class have had to endure. Its just not possible in any way for Mr. Romney to understand the middle and lower classes that have built this country. In order to understand us one would have had to endure what we have in our lifetimes. One cannot truly feel our concerns or what we have gone through if one has not only never been there but grew up where no one in their lives has. Its just not possible and I don't blame Mr. Romney since he was raised into this life knowing no other. Truth be told as much as he likes to make us believe he knows of our endeavors, he cant. Mr. Romney don't insult the intelligence of Americans by trying to convince us other wise. Be yourself for if not true to yourself you can never be true to us. You and yours have never suffered or struggled as we have so please don't say that you can relate or feel our pains and worries. Its just not possible.

By now we are sure all Americans and the world are aware of the most recent attacks and murders of Americans at the Embassy in the Middle East. When the hell is American Government going to finally admit that we are hated and do something about it. Notice I say "American Government" not "American People" because I believe "We The People" are very aware of the hate these countries have for us. Yet we still send them millions, more like billions, of our tax monies and other aid. Are we stupid? To them we are, believe me. If you were to take a poll on if the American People want any of our money sent to the Middle East I am pretty sure a big "NO" would be the answer. Why do you think our Government wont ask or allow us to vote on it?

We should be ENRAGED!!!! I don't see any protests. Where is the show of anger! Americans have been MURDERED on American turf at the Embassy. Expressing your anger in the comfort of your home will not get any attention my fellow Americans. At very least send E-mail to the White House and your States Governors Office. Call your local News Papers and express you anger! Rally your Clubs, Groups, Associations and Unions.

What we needs to do, and its simple. Connect with the Canadian Oil Pipe Line and have a open season on drilling for oil within our own countries boundaries. WE have more energy resources in America then the entire world yet because of environmental groups, who would rather save a rodent then save Americans, we don't take advantage of these God given resources. BUT I believe there is a underlying motive to restricting our progress to oil freedom and I want you to give this just a bit of thought. If WE were independent of the need for Middle East Oil we would destroy their economic empires! Now think about this. Obama stopped the Canadian pipe line right at the border just as it was about to connect to America then the prices of gas started to rise again. Why? Simple the threat to Middle East oil has been eliminated when Obama stopped the connection. Is Obama protecting the Middle East for some reason allowing the continuation of their hold on America with oil? Hmmmm aren't they Muslim? Just food for thought.

The hold for oil is what the American Government fears NOT these countries armies. Call it as it is, we could take them off the map without sending a man over there if we wanted to. Its is because of this "Hold" ,that the Middle east is well aware of, that makes them so sure that we wont strike back. Yea well let the drilling begin and the pipe line through. Order home all Americans out there and then lets see what happens then. This "Hold" the have on America is what allows them to get away with the killing and terror attacks knowing that our Government will do little about it except maybe make threats like " if this ever happens again we are going to impose sanctions". Whats that song? "A Little Less Talk and Alot More Action"?

You are so self-righteously offended by the big bankers and the American automobile manufacturers yet do nothing about the real thieves in this situation, Mr. Dodd, Mr. Frank, Franklin Raines, Jamie Gorelic, the Fannie Mae bonuses, and the Freddie Mac bonuses. What do you intend to do about them? Anything? I seriously doubt it.

What about the U.S. House members passing out $9.1 million in bonuses to their staff members on top of the $2.5 million in automatic pay raises that lawmakers gave themselves? I understand the average House aide got a 17% bonus. I took a 5% cut in my pay to save jobs with my employer. You haven't said anything about that. Who authorized that? I surely didn't!

Executives at Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac will be receiving $210 million in bonuses over an eighteen-month period, that's $45 million more than the AIG bonuses. In fact, Fannie and Freddie executives have already been awarded $51 million not a bad take. Who authorized that and why haven't you expressed your outrage at this group who are largely responsible for the economic mess we have right now?

I resent that you take me and my fellow citizens as brain-dead and not caring about what you idiots do. We are watching what you are doing and we are getting increasingly fed up with all of you.

I also want you to know that I personally find just about everything you do and say to be offensive to every one of my sensibilities. I promise you that I will work tirelessly to see that you do not get a chance to spend two terms destroying my beautiful country.

Please tell your children not to take candy from anyone even a class mate because this drug that looks like pop rocks is actually crystal meth rocked up with strawberry flavor & can kill them. This is happening all over the country share with all your friends

As we all know Crystal Meth is a addicting drug and the purpose of its distribution to children is to instill the addiction at a young age. It is inexpensive and can be purchasd with "lunch money" so to speak so it is very affordable for our youth. In many case's this form of drug in the form of candy can be passed from one child to another without the child being aware that it is a drug at all.

TO ALL THE KIDS WHO SURVIVED THE 50's, 60's and 70's! First, we survived being born to mothers Who smoked and/or drank while they were Pregnant. They took aspirin, ate blue cheese dressing, Tuna from a can and didn't get tested for diabetes. Then after that trauma, we were put to sleep on our tummies in baby cribs covered with bright colored lead-base paints.
We had no childproof lids on medicine bottles, Locks on doors or cabinets and when we rode Our bikes, we had baseball caps not helmets on our heads. As infants & children, We would ride in cars with no car seats, No booster seats, no seat belts, no air bags, bald tires and sometimes no brakes. Riding in the back of a pick-up truck on a warm day Was always a special treat. We drank water From the garden hose and not from... a bottle. We shared one soft drink with four friends, From one bottle and no one actually died from this. We ate cupcakes, white bread, real butter and bacon.. We drank Kool-Aid made with real white sugar. And, we weren't overweight. WHY? Because we were Always outside playing...that's why! We would leave home in the morning and play all day, As long as we were back when the Streetlights came on. No one was able To reach us all day. And, we were O.K.
We would spend hours building our go-carts out of scraps And then ride them down the hill, only to find out We forgot the brakes. After running into the bushes a few times, we learned to solve the problem. We did not have Playstations, Nintendo's and X-boxes. There were no video games, no 150 channels on cable, No video movies or DVD's, no surround-sound or CD's, No cell phones, No personal computers, no Internet and no chat rooms. WE HAD FRIENDS And we went outside and found them! We fell out of trees, got cut, broke bones and teeth And there were no lawsuits from these accidents. We ate worms and mud pies made from dirt, And the worms did not live in us Forever. We were given BB guns for our 10th birthdays, Made up games with sticks and tennis balls and, Although we were told it would happen, We did not put out very many eyes. We rode bikes or walked to a friend's house and Knocked on the door or rang the bell, or just Walked in and talked to them. Little League had tryouts and not everyone made the team. Those who didn't had to learn to deal With disappointment. Imagine that!! The idea of a parent bailing us out if we broke the law Was unheard of. They actually sided with the law! These generations have produced some of the best Risk-takers, problem solvers and inventors ever. The past 50 years Have been an explosion of innovation and new ideas. We had freedom, failure, success and responsibility, and we learned how to deal with it all. If YOU are one of them? CONGRATULATIONS!

Madonnas Super Bowl Halftime Show

Madonna did a wonderful halftime performance last night at the Super Bowl before audiences of all ages AND more important the show was age appropriate for ALL ages. No wardrobe malfunctions, no garbled words, no foul language, no questionable lyrics. No suggestive body language. The choreography was splendid the music well arranged and the costumes outstanding without a hint of sexual innuendo's. Our Jersey crew, and I mean a REAL Jersey crew ,all agree she proved without a doubt she is a true talent able to perform without the need of "the sleazy or shock" factor. Thank you Madonna for a show well done that everyone was able to enjoy. Your a Star Lady!

Primary Election Time.....A view from Abroad

You know the world is watching our primary elections. Make no mistake they are very interested and they are seeing all we mentioned in our previous post. They see the inability of our leaders to agree on pretty much anything. They see the division of parties. They see the slander thrown back and forth like missiles on attack. They see the angry American and how our countries leaders have hidden facts from us on issues that had a great effect on our economy. I hate to say this America but sometimes you have to step out of your own comfort zone in order to see things as others do, be it right or wrong, from another perspective so to speak. So what I want you to do is see whats going on here from another countries point be them friends or foe. You can be sure of one thing, our enemies are pleased and our friends are concerned. The more turmoil we have the more our enemies are pleased and I tell ya now these primaries show a complete lack of unity within our government. What does this mean? A total inability to make important perhaps life and liberty saving decisions that can cost Americans dearly on all fronts. How ironic a government that preaches peace, unity, brotherhood etc etc cant within its own borders of government. We have Americans out of work, families torn apart, crime is at a high level because many are forced into crime to feed their family. Our American Government has lost credibility not only to good Americans but to many foreign countries by not taking care of their own. To "Lead By Example" can no longer apply to our Government bodies. This countries current condition speaks volumes to the world. "They cant take care of their own" is a phrase the world is now using to describe our politicians. Now if we as Americans are not taken care of how in the name of God do you expect to have credibility anywhere. So our government, who cant fix our problems, is going to fix another countries? This is this best country in the world. Its not the people who are bad, its the politicians!

Elections 2012 VIew from a Distance

As I sit here watching the primaries I find my a bit, OK a whole lot, disgusted by the process and what these primaries have turned into. Slander, verbal attacks, mud slinging, character attacks, secrets exposed etc etc. It becomes obvious that everything we are hearing today didn't just happen today and these harsh shocking acts being used against each other were being hidden for a long time by the same parties who are now using them against each other. In my world that ratting on each other so no wonder even politicians don't trust each other. I am not saying the public should not be made aware, what I am saying is why were these issues not exposed when they happened when perhaps something could have been done about them. A true Politician of the People would expose a situation at the time of its occurrence and move to address it. So what dos this tell us? We have no real Politicians of the People. All of them held silent of any unjust acts of other politicians until such a time they would use them against each other for personal gain. Did they use them to protect the public....a big no. Think about it. When you live in a glass house you really cant throw stones now can you. When you hide issues that effect Americas best interest and allow those who committed these acts to continue in this manner by "turning a temporary nose until you need to use it" you my politician are guilty and are just as guilty as your political rival. What you need to know before you retire to Florida

First off please understand that what we inform you of here is FACT about problems you may encounter if you have plans to move, retire, to the State of Florida. Issues even your realtor is reluctant to tell you but if your aware and ask the realtor they must tell you by law. This is for most, and in some cases, the deciding factor on affordability that you do not what to find out while in the buying process since in will come about after you sign a contract.

We are doing this article because so many in their golden years are finding they cannot, or can no longer, afford to live here in Florida due to ever rising Insurance and Taxes. Some still think that Florida is a value like it was YEARS ago. No More! Matter of fact Floridas Home Owners Insurance rates may be the highest in the country.

Florida is considered a risk State due to hurricanes and flood. Both of which have not been seen in about 11 years and if you notice variations in weather patterns have shifted where other states, that pay much lower rates, have had all the problem nature has to offer. Yet Florida is punished, maybe because State Government allows constant raises without cause. In other words "In 11 years we had no claims". Politics, maybe. Im not going to get into politics...yet.

Lets get to the point:

Always keep this in mind if your retiring, a sad but true FACT. A retired couple up in age must realize that yes you and yours each receive you Social Security checks BUT a good portion will be lost when life ends for one of you. So you cannot depend on two checks to pay your bills. If you did you will be moving soon due to the loss of income.

Lets create a actual situation:

If you moved to Florida now and purchased a 100.000.00 home your taxes would be about 3000.00 per year, your Home Owners Insurance about 4500.00 per year and Fema Flood Insurance about 500.00 per year. So far your down 8000.00 per year or about 666.00 per month. And this is on only a 100.000.00 home which is not much of a home these days in Florida. And dont forget you have auto insurance, utilities, food, maybe association fees etc etc. These figures are based upon a no mortage purchase but even if you have a mortage payment that payment would be LOWER then your insurance rates. See its not mortgage rates that make Florida expensive, its INSURANCE THEN TAXES that force even Floridas retired to leave the state. And rest assured every year these rates rise but your income does not. Combined a retired couple in the example above would pay somewhere between 1100.00 and 1300.00 per month. Thats without a mortage and no other loans.

The Insurance Scam:

Very few homes built from the 70s on ever are totaled due to construction. What you read about are the older wood frames and mobile homes in most cases where total destruction is involved. This is what the insurance companies dont say when they cry about their losses making you believe you can sustain the same damages. The Fear Factor!

I live in a area that took a direct overhead 150 mph hurricane hit. I lost several roof tiles BUT NOT THE ROOF. Trees and shrubs of course. A wood fence went down next door.Rain but nothing came in the home. What am I getting at? The INSURANCE DEDUCTABLES which range from 4500.00 to 8000.00. This means you pay these figures, out of pocket, before insurance kicks in reducing the insuance companies liability where in many cases the insurance company end up with no out lay at all! Example a very nice high grade wooden fence on the property we speak of is under the deductable and a roof on a 100.000.00 home, which is a small home, is about 8000.00. So the insurance company has no outlay at all BUT you have out of pocket costs. In essence if you pay insurance of 4500.00 per year and you pay a high deductable..what did the insurer pay..nada. In most cases you end up paying out of pocket more then the insurance company did. Now heres the kicker when the insurers shows proof of their losses to get a rate raise before the state they show your 4500.00 claim, what they dont say is "but it didnt cost us a dime due to the deductable the home owner had to pay first".

We all know that the Insurance Industry has been allowed to rob the public for years.Its big business and politics, we all know it. Our best protection in knowledge and we want our seniors to know what they are facing so they can retire to a comfortable and affordable life. Florida was once a great affordable place to retire but it is not any longer for everyone.

And believe me you dont want to know about Florida Goverment and Politics. When did a election ever go smooth?
