The idea behind a tiny and cheap computer for kids came in 2006, when Eben Upton and his colleagues at the University of Cambridge’s Computer Laboratory, including Rob Mullins, Jack Lang and Alan Mycroft, became concerned about the year-on-year decline in the numbers and skills levels of the A Level students applying to read Computer Science in each academic year. From a situation in the 1990s where most of the kids applying were coming to interview as experienced hobbyist programmers, the landscape in the 2000s was very different; a typical applicant might only have done a little web design.

Something had changed the way kids were interacting with computers. A number of problems were identified: the colonisation of the ICT curriculum with lessons on using Word and Excel, or writing webpages; the end of the dot-com boom; and the rise of the home PC and games console to replace the Amigas, BBC Micros, Spectrum ZX and Commodore 64 machines that people of an earlier generation learned to program on.

Putrajaya Youth Festival 2013 is a celebration of National Youth Day and will be held for 4 days 3 nights from 23 to 26 May 2013.  This concept of gathering is to develop the potential, creativity and innovative sustain and uphold the unity and integrity.

Putrajaya Youth Festival 2013 is a collection of activities that are geared towards education, spirituality, skill, artistry, talent, interaction and volunteerism.  This is to give them the space to young people for self-expression and self-test capability to compete in an open and challenging stage.

All the events will be held along Persiaran Perdana from Precinct 1 to Precinct 6, 18 and 20 with the proposed overall activites of 30 segments with 500 events.

The new design of Red FM, channel 104.9 for Klang Valley, is rebranding as well and it looks better than previous logo. Simplicity and straight forward design showing RED dot FM as their name, indeed.. though it seems like brand from Japan ; ) And with the new tagline Living It!

Program Jelajah Anak Malaysia bertemakan Transformasi Rakyat yang diadakan pada 30 Jan hingga 12 Mac ini bertujuan untuk memastikan gerakan anak muda dapat merasai denyut nadi rakyat dan berkongsi pengalaman kehidupan di seluruh Malaysia. Program ini akan melalui tiga bentuk fasa iaitu 30 Januarihingga 16 Februari di Semenanjung Malaysia, 25 Februari hingga 3 Mac(Sarawak) manakala 5 hingga 12 Mac di Sabah. Presiden Persatuan Alumni Pemimpin Mahasiswa Aspirasi Malaysia (Aspirasi), Mohd. Shahar Abdullah berkata, program yang mendapat sokongan daripada 46 pertubuhan bukan kerajaan (NGO) itu turut menawarkan 11 program yang menarik golongan muda terutama program Rakyat Service Centre.

Tujuan Kelab ini ditubuhkan adalah untuk mengumpul anak2 seagama Islam tidak mengira sudah menyertai mana2 majlis NGO atau masih kosong, lelaki mahupun wanita.

Matlamat penubuhan Kelab ini amat jelas iaitu semata-mata untuk menyatukan kita yg seagama.

Pelbagai aktiviti telah dirancang dan dijalankan sepanjang penubuhan Kelab ini.. Ini termasuklah aktiviti permotoran, rekriasi dan sukan.

Selain dari itu, Kelab ini juga menjalankan aktiviti amal bersama masyarakat setempat.

Ahli Kelab ini digalakan untuk menyertai aktiviti-aktiviti yang dianjurkan.. Selain dari beriadah, kita juga dapat saling mengenali dan ikatan ukhwah akan terjalin.

Kelab ni tiada kaitan dengan mana2 pertubuhan / NGO lain. Walau bagaimana pun, di dalam Kelab ini ahli-ahlinya terdiri dari ahli pelbagai majlis NGO lain seluruh Malaysia.

Syarat pengambilan menjadi ahli amat mudah iaitu harus seorang Muslim berumur 14 tahun dan keatas.
