Pet Fooled is a documentary exploring the underbelly of the pet food industry. As a business that is largely unregulated, and controlled by a conglomerate of companies, this film will take an inside look at whether the nutrition we feed our pets is actually good for them.

After the dramatic 2007 pet food recall that left thousands of pets dead- a news event that most likely didn’t make your headline news- a time has come when this industry needs to be investigated; held accountable for the injustice that is packaged and sold on a daily basis.

The film will examine the history of the pet food industry, highlighting the way these 5 corporations own and manufacture over 90% of commercial pet food. In doing so, the film will unearth the marketing manipulation which convinces society of information situated far from the truth. With 7 out of 10 individuals owning or having owned pets, this documentary will unveil the myths on a topic that touches close to heart, and hopefully in doing it will educate society of the misnomers regarding safety, regulation, and nutritional legitimacy of this industry.

The Time To End Trophy Hunting Is Now

Happy holidays everyone. There’s a great deal of excitement in our house, Santa Paws is coming! That means looking our best for his arrival.

A few weeks ago Mr. Twix had quite the makeover at PetSmart®. He was transformed from rags to rock ‘n’ roll, with the help of his groomer, Megan.

PetSmart Grooming Services

PetSmart offers a full menu of grooming services for all dog breeds.  In a previous grooming post, I recommend asking your groomer questions about the services your pet may need. Megan was incredibly helpful in discussing Mr Twix’ grooming needs. She was creative when deciding on what colours to use from the Pet Expressions service.

Something Fun

My little rockstar added to his grooming package the Pet Expressions “tattoo” on his cute little bum, and an ombre mohawk and tail. I had a few people ask me if the colour was permanent. It’s a chalk based product that fades after a few days. They’re perfect for special events and holidays. Just think of the fun designs your dog could wear on holiday photos.

Since Mr. Twix was groomed, his cut held its shape beautifully. The colour as mentioned earlier just faded away, and the mohawk grew in nicely. He’s not due for his next grooming just yet. When he’s ready, we’ll book the appointment through Petsmart’s easy booking system. The only in between grooming service we’ll need is a nail trim, and we can use their walk-in service for that In the meantime, watch Mr. Twix get into the holiday spirit. This video shows his cute style and personality. It’s his second year in a real home. I saved him from a life in the desert, where he’d never heard of Petsmart grooming service, let alone a mohawk.  A clean happy pet is important. It was one of the first things I did for Mr. Twix, to make him comfortable and clean.

Fast forward two years and this cheeky chap, is living the rock ‘n’ roll dream. I wonder if he ever thought he’d be wearing this funny elf hat.

Galgos Del Sol was founded in 2010 after Tina Wales-Solera and her little family moved to Spain. They were in search of a better life. 

They were shocked to find themselves surrounded by animal cruelty and neglect, and took on the challenge to do something about it. With no support, the effects of an economy crash & betrayal of a volunteer it led to a family breakdown and unimaginable stress. 

This is truly a story of a phoenix rising out of the ashes, for the abandoned Galgos in Spain.
