Rocking Out is available again on Amazon Kindle(previously published by Dreamspinner). This is one book of mine that I don't think ever really found its readership. I think this is because most people came into it expecting a rip-roring rock and roll love story, when the actual center of the narrative is the protagonist's struggle with his anxiety disorder.

Bevin knows that he loves his old flame, now a famous musicians. He is not sure however, that he can cope with having Scott back in his life. Scott is honestly a bit of an insensitive and self-centered guy, as charismatic and famous people can often be. But the emotional journey for this couple is toward that classic recognition that people who are very different can bring out the best in each other.

I hope that the new cover helps create the right expectation given that the story is told only from Bevin's point of view and takes place more in suburbia than the glamorous locations you might expect with a rock star love interest. The story is told from Bevin's perspective because, quite honestly, he is the more interesting character with the more difficult lesson to learn. He is one of my favorite protagonists and I am happy to have this book available again!

Samhain Titles

As of today my Samhain Titles: "King of Dragons, King of Men", "Wolfkin", "Father of Dragons" and "Lover of Ghosts" are no longer available from Samhain and the rights to them have been returned to me.

"Wolfkin", "Father of Dragons" and "Lover of Ghosts" will be reissued in ebook form by the end of the year, with paperback versions of "Father of Dragons" and "Lover of Ghosts" to follow. The third part of that trilogy "Brother of Brume" is still on the docket--but not for release any time soon.

I am still considering options for "King of Dragons, King of Men". I am open to suggestions.

The manuscript for Doe Velvet has gone off to the editor for appraisal. Hopefully it is in fairly good shape, so that I don't start off too far in the red for this project. As this is my first foray, both into F/M romance and self-publishing right out of the gate, I have no idea how well it will sell.

Other than caribou and reindeer, in most species of deer only males have antlers. However anomalous antlered does have been reported in blacktail, elk (Buss & Solf, 1959), mule deer (Buechner, 1957;Diem, 1958; Dixon, 1917 Wislocki, 1956), red deer, roe deer, and whitetail (Buechner, 1957; Wislocki, 1954; 1956).

Doe antlers sometimes appear equivalent to those in the male and sometimes small, deformed, or in velvet after the velvet should have been shed. This condition is variously attributed to hermaphroditism or reduced ovaries function from disease or old age. Some does in antler are fertile (Diem, 1958) and others are not.

It has been observed that mature and fertile does have antlers that remain in velvet unless damaged. Thos with polished antlers are more likely to be hermaphrodites (Diem, 1958).

Doe Velvet first Draft

I have finished the first draft of Doe Velvet and am very happy with how it turned out. This is a book I decided to write simply on the principle that if I write what I like, other people may also like it. The conventional wisdom is that high fantasy romance is unpopular and alpha female romance (that is not in any way BDSM) just does not have a readership. Maybe that is true. I guess I will find out.

In any case, I like my heroine Thera. She is down-to-earth woman in a high fantasy world. She is by nature confidant, despite having had quite a difficult life. And if a passing prince should fall head over heels in love with her, who is she to argue with that? Of course royalty comes with complications, and in this case a dangerous quest.

I am working on edits now and narrowing down who my external editor will be.

Speaking if books being re-released, here is the new cover for Blue Murder (previously with the ate Aspen Mountain Press). I have never really been totally comfortable with this book I like the characters but the plot meanders a bit. Still, some people really like it so I am going to put it up on Kindle and see what happens.
