The regatta has ancient origins, probably in the middle of the thirteenth century by the need to train the oar crews of the countless boats of Venice.
Nowadays the four competitions are divided into categories by age categories and types of boats: the most famous and exciting is the champions’ race in gondolas, whizzing Grand Canal to the finish line in front of the famous “machina“, the spectacular floating stage located in front of the Ca ‘Foscari Palace.

Also this year you can witness the procession and competitions sitting comfortably on our boats moored along the Grand Canal.

For a more exclusive experience you can watch the show from the balcony of an ancient palace a few steps from Ca’ Foscari, with catering service included: there are 2 living rooms with 5 windows overlooking the Grand Canal, for a maximum of 20 people. A buffet is served with cakes, tiramisu, ice cream, coffee, sparkling wine, soft drinks, from 14.30 onwards 19.30/20.00

As an alternative to the gondola you can achieve the same tour through the canals with another typical Venetian boat, simpler but more spacious.

– The version on the gondola is for a maximum of 2 people and lasts about one hour.
– The version on the traditional Venetian boat is for a maximum of 4 people and lasts about one hour.

With this second boat you can also realize longer tours, in the lagoon, with the use of a barbecue.

– La versione sulla gondola è per un massimo di 2 persone e dura un’ora.
– La versione sulla barca tradizionale veneziana è per un massimo di 4 persone e dura un’ora.
Con quest’ultima barca è possibile anche realizzare dei tour più lunghi, in laguna aperta, con utilizzo di barbecue.
