THE PRODUCT

VENSTAR BITUME is properly classified as natural asphalt or natural bitumen mixed with inert materials in nature. It can be used “such as” as asphaltic conglomerate additive, or it can be catalyzed in order to be used as a hardening agent for bitumen. It is particularly suitable for high-modulus asphalt and for the production of mastic asphalt.

The estimated reserve in the possession of Venstar group consisting currently in 48 million tons.

ADVANTAGES IN USE

Cost Reduction - it has a very competitive cost compared to bitumen and its use allows the reduction of the thickness of the road surface.

Not subject to REACH - as a natural product it is exempt from registration

Not subject to CE Marking - in the absence of a harmonized standard, CE marking is not required, or can also be replaced, on request, by the European Technical Approval (ETA).

Eco-Friendly product - as natural product and not subject to industrial process, but simply extracted and stabilized.

Improvement of the final product - the elastic modulusincreases, reducing rutting and extending the life of the road pavement.

REPORT FROM THE GEOLOGICAL INSTITUTE OF VLORE, ALBANIA

Albania has, among many other resources, considerable reserve of Natural Asphalt. One of the most important deposits is that of Patos Fshat, in the district of Fieri.

The Patos Fshat tar sand mine is situated 48 km from Vlora and 8 km from the city of Fier. The tar sand deposits of Patos Fshat come in a monolithic form, with a North-West trend and a descending angle of 20°-25°. The deposit touches only one layer of tar sand, placed in the lower part of the N12t. The average thickness of the bituminous layer is 10-15 meters.

The bituminous content of Patos Fshat depends on the geological blocks and ranged from 8% to 16%. The predominant elements of the tar sand granulometry consists of sand fractions from 0.05 to 0.5 mm for the 92.2% of the total. The rest of the sandy mass consists of alevrolite (5.8%) and clay fractions (2%).

IL PRODOTTO

VENSTAR BITUME e’ propriamente classificato come asfalto naturale, ovvero bitume naturale mescolato in natura con materiali inerti. Puo’ essere utilizzato allo stato tal quale come additivo dei conglomerati asfaltici o puo’ essere catalizzato al fine di utilizzarlo come indurente del bitume. E’ particolarmente indicato per i conglomerati bituminosi ad alto modulo e per la produzione di asfalto colato.

Le reserve stimate in possesso del gruppo Venstar consistono attualmente in 48 milioni di tonnellate.

PERCHE’ USARLO

Economicita’ – ha un costo estremamente competitivo rispetto al bitume distillato ed il suo utilizzo permette la riduzione dello spessore del manto stradale.

Non soggetto a REACH – in quanto prodotto naturale e’ esente dalla registrazione.

Non soggetto a certificazione CE – in assenza di norma armonizzata non e’ richiesta la marcatura CE, che puo’essere sostituita, a richiesta, dal Benestare Tecnico Europeo (ETA).

Prodotto Eco-Friendly - in quanto naturale e non soggetto a procedimento industriale ma semplicemente estratto e stabilizzato.

Miglioramento del prodotto finale – aumenta il modulo elastico, riducendo l’ormaiamento e prolungando la vita della pavimentazione stradale

L’Albania ha, tra numerose altre risorse, considerevoli reserve di Asfalto Naturale. Uno dei depositi piu’ importanti e’ quello di Patos Fshat, nel distretto di Fieri.

La miniera di Patos Fshat e’ situata 48 km da Vlora (Valona) ed 8 km dalla citta’ di Fier. I depositi di Asfalto naturale di Patos Fshat si presentano sotto forma monolitica, con orientamento sull’asse Nord-Est ed un angolo discendente di 20°-25°. Il deposito tocca solo uno strato di Asfalto Naturale, sito nella parte inferiore del N12t. Lo spessore medio dello strato bituminoso e’ di 10-15 metri.

Il contenuto bituminoso di Patos Fshat dipende dai blocchi geologici e varia dall’8% al 16%. Gli elementi predominanti del conglomerato sabbioso consistono di frazioni da 0,05 a 0,5 mm per il 92,2% circa del totale. Il resto della massa sabbiosa consiste di alevrolite (5,8%) e frazioni argillose (2%).
