What affordable guarantees can you offer them that you run a legitimate business? When I started building up Veracity Technologies online presence, I asked myself those same questions. I came to the conclusion that a trust seal would be the most effective method to achieve my goal. By happenstance, Matt Joseph (President of VeraSafe) reached out to us and offered a trial of their services. I agreed and was immediately impressed with the thoroughness of their vetting process. This is serious enough that the Department of Homeland Security issued Vulnerability Note VU#625617:Java 7 fails to restrict access to privileged code. Today’s news about this issue is worse. Apparently hackers are exploiting this vulnerability and using it to install “ransomware” onto unsuspecting computers. The team over at The Next Web is helping keep users on top of things. Today they released this article: Oracle’s Java vulnerability left open since October 2012 ‘fix’, now being used to push ransomware. We think it’s a good idea to disable Java in all of your web browsers immediately. We have done the same following these instructions from Sophos’ Naked Security Team. Last December, Veracity Technologies became an affiliate of the Purdue Research Park in Southeast Indiana. We told you that we were developing a system of modular software components that would allow small- to medium-sized businesses to more effectively manage their processes. We haven’t made a lot of fuss about it, but we’ve had our first product in an extensive private beta since September 2011. In June of this year, we moved into the Purdue Research Park. Our business is sufficiently expanding to the point where we needed a more centrally located office. Being inside the Purdue Research Park has its benefits! The personalized business development coaching that we’re research is very valuable! For example, we’re going through Wendy Kennedy’s methodology to develop the business value of our intellectual property. We’ve also welcomed new customers to the Veracity Technologies family. The tornado ripped through our neighbor’s house 1/2 mile west of our house. Our little town of Henryville was hit very hard. The school was destroyed. The destruction is indescribable.
