Missing My L6

2008-12-22T15:59:00.001-08:00

I used to own a Motorola L6 from Cellular One once and I just have to say I had both good and bad times with this mobile phone. I just like the fact that it's not A RAZR, though there are similarities in their interface construction. Also, my L6 was given to me as a present, so there is what we call a 'sentimental value' attached to it. But sad to say, I had to part with my Motorola L6 when I need to upgrade to an advanced mobile phone.
I really had a hard time packing up all those Motorola cell phone accessories I have purchased throughout my time with my L6. I had customized cell phone cases of different designs and a couple of cell phone batteries I bought when my L6 accidentally fell to the floor. I did have my share of signal nightmares where I have to get to the roof in order for me to catch some reception.
Sure, I miss my L6. But life has got to go on, right?

Motorola ROKR E1 for Cellular One

2008-12-17T16:22:00.000-08:00

The Motorola ROKR E1 is the first non-Apple mobile phone that utilizes the iTunes music applications. As far as music is concerned, the Apple iPod has been very remarkably consistent on being the best portable music player. The fusion between Motorola and Apple to produce a very notable music phone is most likely a take on Sony Ericsson and Walkman's domination on that category.

But whether Motorola and Apple succeed or not, the Motorola ROKR E1 surely rocks! With built-in memory that can hold up to 100 songs, a very crisp voice quality on the headset and stereo speakers, and other features that, well, rock. Clad this mobile phone with Motorola cell phone accessories like cell phone cases, cell phone covers, etc. and you are good to go.
Cell phone batteries go a long way wit this mobile phone. Average talk time can go as far as 4 hours and 20 minutes. Stand by time can last for 230 hours.

Sony Ericcson Z310 for Cellular1

2008-12-08T15:46:00.000-08:00

For as low as $24.99, you can now have the Sony Ericsson Z310 by way of CellularOne. The Sony Ericsson Z310 was not designed for upper echelons of the consumer strata, but it sure does work like a high end mobile phone.

The Sony Ericsson is one of those mobile phones that use VGA cameras. In addition to that, the Sony Ericsson Z310 takes high quality photo for a VGA camera. Apart from that, the Z310 also has a wide solid range of features that would put other mobile phones within its price range to shame. The design is also something worth noting. For a clamshell, the Sony Ericsson is a beauty. No need to get those customized cell phone covers and other cell phone accessories for the looks overhaul. Although the plastic feel makes the Z310 seem cheap, the overall performance compensates entirely for that. And speaking of performance, the talk time max for this phone is a whooping 7 hours. No need to get spare cell phone batteries.

Is there a mobile phone out there that can top that?

HTC 4300

2008-10-09T16:51:00.001-07:00

CelluarOne's HTC 4300 is a great addition to their current lineup. The HTC smartphone that utilizes a full Qwerty keyboard and is also based off of the popular Windows Mobile 5 OS. The HTC 4300 is very similar to the MDA, in fact I think they're based off of the same platform, but none the less the HTC 4300 is quite the looker. For a phone that houses such features such as web browsing, picture messaging, memory card expansion slot, wifi, bluetooth, and a video recorder you would expect to be lugging around a computer. That's not the case with the HTC 4300 since it is complied nicely into a sleek and subtle phone. The HTC 4300 is currently available for about $479 from Cellular one of San Luis Obispo and for what you get with the phone, I would recommend this unit to any smart phone fanatic that uses CellularOne.

Nokia 5700 for CellularOne

2008-10-07T16:48:00.000-07:00

The Nokia 5700 became one of CellularOne’s hottest items in terms of sales. Speaking of which, it reveals that more and more people prefer mobile phones slash music and video player. Who doesn’t? Being able to turn you mobile phone to the ultimate companion during those long boring moments is one good thing. Twisting it to become the meanest sound wave conjurer is a better thing. Killing time has never been this entertaining.

Of course, to enjoy the full features of the 5700, one needs to pair with the right mix of cell phone accessories. Accessories for sound, specifically. Having Bluetooth connection with this mobile phone means you get to share, load, and play music without the hassles of wire. Hook the 5700 with original Nokia Bluetooth headsets and speaker, as well as other Nokia accessories, voila! You got yourself a music entertainment central.

As for the looks, interchangeable cell phone cases for the 5700 might be limited because of its unique twist design. But the stock case looks good enough, who needs to replace it?

That said, the Nokia 5700’s performance as a phone is notable. CellularOne offers this mobile phone for as low as $205.99. That amount would seem sky high. But the benefits are worth it if you have some cash to spare. Otherwise, there are still good music phones out there that do not cost that much.

HTC S621 for Cellular One

2008-08-31T17:07:00.001-07:00

Being able to take charge of your business and personal life at the palm of your hand is power. But you need to have the right gadget to do so. Juggling two or more phones is an obvious hassle. But during the course of time, along with communications technology breakthroughs, we have now what we call the smart phone. However, choosing the right smart phone that perfectly meshes with your lifestyle and can keep up with our varying pace is quite tricky, so to speak. Honestly, there is no 100% guarantee that you will pick up the perfect smart phone for you. There is always something better out there. Always.
But if perfection is not on your list and you prefer ultimate function instead, then I suggest the HTC S621 for Cellular One. Of course, there are smart phones which are way better in every aspect, but the HTC S621 is not far behind. Aside from decent performances on all its features, the HTC S621 also had a sleek design. Cell phone accessories for the HTC S621 are widely distributed so you won't have any problems getting cell phone cases and cell phone covers, and the likes.
Cellualr One offers the HTC S621 for as low as $279.95. For that price, the HTC S621 can be a good buy or a deal buster. But then, you are not aiming for perfection, are you?

Nokia 6300 from CellularOne

2008-08-27T16:44:00.000-07:00

Ultimately, no mobile phone is ever the best. As mobile technology advances, better mobile phones are produced. So it all boils down to superb functionality at a low price. CellularOne offers such combination through the Nokia 6300. A Nokia mobile phone for less than a hundred bucks, expect that you will get much.

The Nokia 6300 employs the classic candy bar degn which is easy on the eyes and at the same time, provides a firm grip for its users. But if you're looking for too much features in this phone than what you really need, understand that the Nokia 6300 is first and foremost, a phone. Its bread-and-butter is to receive and make calls. The sound clarity is above average, offering you a more than decent performance on the conversation side. If it’s any consolation, the 6300 can play songs on mp3 and wma formats. The picture quality is also good. The Bluetooth connectivity allows users to engage calls and listen to music using Bluetooth headsets, and do other Bluetooth-related activities.

The only downside of this mobile phone is that the outer case is less than durable. But you can always get Nokia accessories if you want to change the looks and further enhance the protection level of your phone.

$14.99 per month - I can dig that..

2008-08-10T16:40:00.000-07:00

According to JD Powers & Associates, Virgin mobile won 'Highest in Customer Satisfaction with Wireless Prepaid service". With plans such as $14.99, per month with 100 minutes and no long term contract, I would even consider getting the phone if I only needed phone for emergencies. Pay $14.99 beats the heck out of sharing a public phone, given if you can locate one these days, with drug dealers and homeless. Check out Kyocera Accessories for Virgin mobile phones at Accessorygeeks.com.

BlackBerry 8700

2008-07-30T16:34:00.000-07:00

The BlackBerry 8700 has been available for Cellular One for some time now and I've never had a chance to write up a quick review of the phone so here it goes. The 8700 is similar to almost all Blackberry's in layout and function but differs in the overall look and feel. The BlackBerry 8700 is very sleek and has a great visual appearance with a very similar user interface. The 8700 comes featured with bluetooth compatibilities which is something of an industry standard these days.

The phone itself is great and works extremly well as a Blackerry. I had no real complaints on any of the functions or features, the phone was never marketed like the Pearl so I didn't expect Pearl features. I would recommend this phone for the business oriented individual who does prefers phones that don't utilize the problematic window OS system.

LG Dare

2008-07-24T11:37:00.000-07:00

This phone is the best phone Verizon currently has, touch screen or otherwise. There is a learning curve, especially if you came from using a PDA phone like a BlackBerry. I was able to use Bluetooth to move my contacts from my PC to the Dare with no problems. I had to manually enter calendar entries. Music can be synced through the included Rhapsody software, and you do not have to subscribe to do it.
The 3.2 megapixel camera takes great photos. The built in speaker is clear and loud, right on par with the BB Curve I left behind for the Dare.
I get strong signal everywhere I go.
I do not do much web surfing from my phone (that is what my PC is for), so the included web browser works well for me.
Maybe through future updates, the Dare will be able to sync with MS Office Outlook for contacts and calendar entries. LG also needs to make it less complex to transfer album art to the phone. There are also LG Dare accessories like a memory card so you can transfer files to you computer as well.
One of the best things is that this is not a PDA phone, so it is not subject to a $30 or higher data plan. I do recommend getting VCast and the contact backup manager. I would also recommend getting screen protectors.
I am still having BlackBerry withdrawals, but the Dare has made it rather easy.

HTC Fusion. The Bad News

2008-07-23T13:30:00.000-07:00

I woke up the other morning despising my mobile phone. I'd been forced to spend some time without my HTC 5800 from Bell Mobility. In its stead I'd gone back to my old Palm Treo 650.I only just picked up the HTC device last October, and I'd realized almost right away that I didn't like it. I suppose I got suckered into its fancy slide-out keyboard. Of course, it's far less bulkier than the Treo, and doesn't have an antennae, so I recall that being a bonus. Over time, however, I've grown to absolutely despise this device. Here's why: Windows Mobile. This is a most lame excuse for a mobile OS. Rather than ask, "How can we enable a positive mobile experience for users?", Microsoft seems more intent on replicating the Windows experience in one's hand, warts and all. This concept is highlighted when you consider how un-Mac-like the iPhone is, as it's more about a unique mobile user experience. The dongle. Never again will I buy a device that has a dongle to enable a proprietary data port to interface with USB. If I ever lose this damned dongle (and I temporarily have, from time to time), I'm screwed, as it's essentially for charging and syncing the device. Words to live by: dongles are evil. The battery. If I'm lucky, I'll get an hour or two of talk time out of this thing. Standby? Maybe 20 hours. And that's on the decrepit 1X network in the Horse. When I visit Vancouver and do a lot of data, the device needs to be charged twice daily. The cute noises. In general, I can turn off most noises on this device. However, no matter what I do, I can't kill the cute little dingily noise the damn thing makes whenever I slide open the keyboard or shut it. And trust me, it's a lame noise. I guess to help this cell phone some HTC Fusion accessories should help it.

3220 for Cellular One

2008-07-20T16:42:00.000-07:00

The Nokia 3220 is certainly one of the attractive mobile phones and one of the affordable phones as well. Along with the low-end price are features that are quite impressive for a small unit but useful at the same time. The outer casing of the 3220 sports a funky, sporty theme. Definitely not the kind of phone business executives would want to carry around. But it appeals to the young people of the market.

With an assortment of customized cell phone cases, cell phone covers, and other Nokia accessories, the 3220 is pretty much a fashionable mobile phone. But though the 3220 seems to be a youngster's mobile phone of choice, the features are also worth noting. The display is pretty much impressive. The picture quality is acceptable. Voice quality for phone calls is decent. Phone conversations with the 3220 are not that bad.
As for flaws, I am pretty sure there some but who cares? For $99.99, this mobile phone is the bomb!

Kyocera Switch Back leather case

2008-07-08T16:39:00.000-07:00

The Kyocera Switch Back from Virgin Mobile is a great mobile phone to begin with. And a great phone needs the best mobile phone accessories to ensure its longevity. And speaking of longevity, nothing beats leather. Nothing. There are a whole lot of plastic cell phone cases, but admittedly, plastic feels cheap, regardless of what they say or what material they are made of. Go for leather.
Available from Virgin Mobile accessories, the Kyocera Switch Back leather case can now be yours for only $14.99. Made of high grade calf leather, this leather case protects your precious Kyocera Switch Back more than a mama dog guards her pups. Maybe that's an exaggeration but who cares?

Leather translates to classic, no frills, just business attitude. And that’s what the Kyocera Switch Back leather case is all about. No frills, just straight protection for your phone from elements, scratches, or even your stupid self. Get one now. Your Kyocera Switch Back deserves it.

Panasonic to follow "green" trend of other companies

2008-06-24T16:43:00.000-07:00

Panasonic, a Japanese based electronics manufacturer under the Matsushita Electric parent company, has currently agreed to a 7-year environmental conservation plan with the World Wildlife Fund (WWF). This environmental plan concerns the Yellow Sea region of the world, surrounding the coasts of China, Korea, and Japan. As a Japanese manufacturer, this area directly affects the company. Panasonic has also been a corporate supporter of the WWF, as they have a history of responsible and environmentally conscious business practices. The surrounding Yellow Sea has played and continues to play a huge role in the coastal life of eastern Asia. This area holds the world's most impressive continental shelf and is home to an extremely diverse array of sealife. Because of this, the WWF has stated this region as one to be conserved with high priority. For thousands of years, the people living near this region has so heavily depended on its resources. It is extremely important that this region remains intact and untouched by harmful hands. Hopefully, this region will continue to flourish as a result of this 7-year plan.

On Verizon

2008-03-09T23:10:00.000-07:00

Verizon has a wide range for both mobile phones and mobile phone accessories. Parading an impressive array of cell phones from Nokia, BlackBerry, Samsung, and a lot others, no wonder Verizon has been named one of the power players in the mobile phone carrier scene. They also have Nokia accessories, BlackBerry accessories, Motorola cell phone accessories, among others so customizing and improving the looks and functions of your phone is no problem at all. And if you don’t need to go branded, Verizon also has an assortment of generic cell phone accessories to boot.
Plus, Verizon covers a wide range of network so signal strength is already in the bag. Verizon also offers affordable packages along with notable premiums to ensure that each and every individual has a mobile phone in his or her possession. And obviously, cell phone ownership is pretty much necessary if every one of us wants to better our lives, or something else.

Verizon Launches Samsung u550

2008-02-21T03:02:00.000-08:00

The long wait is over as Verizon unveils its latest mobile phone from their fold: the Samsung u550. The Samsung u550 is a mid-range clamshell built for fashion and function. It's elegant flip design is one of Samsung's best as far as clamshell phones are concerned. The external display featuring the Roman numerals on the clock is simply magnificent.
The Samsung u550 performs extremely well. Features, both basic and advanced, are quite user-friendly. The Samsung u550 is a great phone overall. But one major flaw would be its web connection. It is not as slow as a snail trying to cross a highway, but it would have been better if it was bit speedier. But even with that kind of mishap, the Samsung u550 will predictably revel in its domination over other mid-class mobile phones.
As for customizing, Verizon offers a wide range of Samsung cell phone accessories such as cell phone batteries and cell phone antenna. Personlizing your phone is pretty much easier than you think.

Wireless G'Zone for Verizon

2008-02-14T21:00:00.000-08:00

Admittedly, Verizon has a very impressibe line-up of mobile phones, smart phones, PDA's, as well as a huge array of cell phone accessories. Accessories include cell phone cases, cell phone batteries, cell phone covers and others. Verizon also houses brand names that are huge in the mobile phone industry. Names like Nokia, Samsung, Motorola, LG and Samsung, just to name a few. Nokia accessories, LG cell phone ac cessories, and BlackBerry accesories are pretty much inside Verizon's vault. No wonder, within this massive assortment Verizon offers, almost everyone fails to no notice the docile Wireless G'Zone Push-To-Talk mobile phone on the side.

The Wireless G'Zone does not take quality photos, nor does it have any MP3 player in its armament. But what this mobile does is simply fulfill its primary role as a wireless telephone. Voice quality is crisp and clear. Phone conversations with this phone are never dull. Battery life is pretty much okay. But what makes this phone standout from Verizon's other mobile phones is its durability. This mobile phone can take any beatings, any hard falls, and still give you the performance you bought you money for.For $99.99m the Wireless G'Zone is absolutely worth it.

Red BlackBerry 8830

2008-02-06T02:30:00.000-08:00

Red is the color of blood. Red signifies passion. The color of the Red Cross is red. So is the Crusaders' emblem. Drunken eyes are undeniably red. Red is the first hue you'll see in a rainbow. No matter how you define the word 'red', it is not just some color you picked on an idle Wednesday morning.
And speaking of red, Verizon's latest offering, the BlackBerry 8830 World Edition Smartphone, now also comes in red. Now we all know how great a BlackBerry gadget can be, much more if we armed it with all the BlackBerry accessories we can get our hands on. That means red cell phone cases, red cell phone covers, and red cell phone batteries if they have it.
And before we all forget, the red day is fast approaching. That translates to red roses, red lingerie, red dress, and red champagne. The red BlackBerry 8830 World Edition might be an ideal gift, too. Now, if only we can get that red sports car with the stallion logo.

Verizon CDM 8905

2008-01-22T01:02:00.000-08:00

Those who are on the lookout for a quality call phone (not cell phone) may need to look on this. Verizon has a phone that might fit the bill. For as low as $19.99, you can now enjoy quality phone conversations with the Verizon CDM 8905.
Aside from the crisp sound quality, the Verizon CDM 8905 also has a strong signal reception with its external cell phone antenna. This mobile phone from Verizon can last up to 3 hours of continuous talk time, which is just ordinary for a mobile phone. But you need not to get some spare cell phone batteries on this one.
All that said, the Verizon CDm 8905 has nothing else to offer, except for the low price. It's no Motorola or Nokia. Adding a personal touch will be difficult. Cell phone accessories for this baby are not as abundant as Nokia accessories.
But who knows? This phone might be all you need.

2 RAZR V3's for $9.99 from Verizon

2008-01-12T02:52:00.000-08:00

To all who are in love with the RAZR V3's, Verizon now gives you two of the clamshells for a whooping price of $9.99! What an incredible offer! Order right now and you'll get the two RAZR V3's with a new tw0-year contract and after a $90 online discount! Now that part I didn't get.

What do they mean by 'after a $90 online discount'? I thought we could get two RAZR's for almost ten bucks? Sure, RAZR lovers would bite into it but how about me? Will somebody tell me how the promo works? Does the package include Motorola cell phone accessories like cell phone batteries and chargers? They do have the cell phone cases with the package, right? I mean they have to be free as well.

I know there's a catch in this $9.99 thingy but I can't quite seem to get it. Will somebody tell me?

Wait. They are RAZR's, right? I hate RAZRS.

But two RAZRS! For almost ten dollars!

Never mind. RAZR's suck.

Verizon Launches Motorola Smartphone

2008-01-09T00:27:00.000-08:00

Probably one of the bestselling Smartphones in the market today, the Motorola MOTO Q Music 9M from Verizon has turned a lot of heads and yanked in positive comments and some negative too.

The design of this phone is very much a refreshing change from other Smartphones and PDA's, most of which looked almost exactly the same. The keypad is the ultimate attraction for this communications device. Its unique keypad interface allows quick typing and fast scrolling. The keys are flat but then large enough for immediate pressing. However, the delete key is still way above the keypad so quick editing can be ruled out here.

From it's name alone, the 9M allows you to listen to your favorite tracks but sound quality is mediocre. User reviews say there are background noise when they use this smartphone. Aside from that, no complaints arose regarding on sound clarity. The stock memory of the 9M can be expanded up to 4GB through mini memory cards. Wireless connection is okay but there are instances where some pages took a lot of time to load. Customizing the looks of the 9M would prove to be a hard sell since accessories for this gadget are very limited, unlike Motorola cell phone accessories. Battery life is excellent. The average talktime can last up to 5 hours. On stand by mode, this PDA can go as long as 16 days. Users will appreciate definitely appreciate this effeciency, unlike some cell phone batteries.

Performance-wise, the phone side of the 9M is above average; a $199.99 deal on this Smartphone from Verizon may prove to be a good buy, or it may not.

What to say over the Phone

2007-09-14T13:44:00.000-07:00

Do you ever wondering when your having a conversation over the phone "Is their someone else listening to our conversation?" Well in Maine the Public Utilities Commission has thought about investigating Verizon whether if they violated privacy laws by sharing information with the domestic surveillance program. Some privacy act may have been violated. Who knows? Well the Bush administration is threatening to sue Maine's regulators if they decide to investigate. The federal government will do anything to silence something that tarnishes their name. More reports now come in about other phone companies cooperating with the government surveillance efforts by giving away phone call records. Should we speak about our secrets over the phone now?

Verizon welcomes new LG Chocolate.

2007-07-10T09:23:00.000-07:00

Verizon jumps from EV-DO to Rev. A

2007-07-02T11:53:00.000-07:00

In a recent effort to overshadow the iPhone and to stay on the map, Verizon has upgraded its EV-DO network to Revision A technology. This service, which has already been implemented in areas across the nation, will allow Verizon subscribers to access content and extremely higher rates of speed. EV-DO subscribers can expect average downloads times to be between 600kbps to 1.4 Mbps and the upload times will be within the 500-800 kbps range. This is a great attempt from Verizon to up their network to combat the surge in service offered by competing carriers from the likes of Cingular and Sprint. Kudos to Verizon for upping their network, next on the list is to offer better looking phones.

Cheers,

John
