Vermont Computing, Inc. (www.vermontcomputing.com) announces the launch of the innovative new service @VCISupport. This service allows anyone to submit a technical query via twitter and receive a response in 140 characters or less. The service is completely open as of launch, but there is an expectation of limiting the service to a certain number of inquiries/per user/ per day. Today also marks the first day of our new Remote Support Technician, Richard Yell.

And it looks like the last one I will be doing. We’re in mid-level negotiations with someone to take over the role of scanning and posting these menus. It’s exciting, since there’s been so much momentum behind them. It’s also a bit sad for me, since I’ve enjoyed doing them. I started playing with web stuff back in 1995, before WYSIWYG editors. Now I use Dreamweaver which annoys my web team. These menu sites have been fun, but it’s time for me to worry about taking them to the next level, which requires addressing other parts of the project.

Windows 7 @ VCI

We’ve had our Windows 7 party and we’ve been using it for months. How does that effect you, our customers?

We love Windows 7. Let’s say that again… we love Windows 7. We are currently stocking Windows 7 laptops, both full size and Netbooks. We’re also starting to build Windows 7 PCs. Currently, we’re still offering XP (both Home and Pro) and for many customers this IS the appropriate choice. But that’s the key – you have a choice. While most vendors have already switched completely, we’ll work with you to determine what is the best path for your needs.

And if you have Win 7 questions – please ask us. We’re the experts and we’ll answer whatever ones you have.

Halloween Weekend Resident Evil Marathon

RandolphMenus.com met with success!

Sometimes you come up with a game-changing idea. VCI has been lucky enough to have more than one, and RandolphMenus.com is likely to be the next. Reception in the first 15 minutes was incredible. People seem to love the “menu randomizer” that we developed. Of course the site is still in development, but it’s nice to know that people like what you’re doing!
