Are You Running Scared?

One of the most screwed up, high octane, insane action movies you'll see is "Running Scared". The name says a lot about the character. I'd be scared too if you knew the story. It stars Paul Walker of "The Fast And The Furious" fame. I see Chazz Palminteri in there too. And even Elizabeth Mitchell from "Lost". Oh... and the scientist guy from "Fringe" plays the bad guy mobster at the end. What a role change it was for him. This movie has such a twisted plot that I don't know where to begin. It's like trying to describe "Shoot 'Em Up" with Clive Owen. A neighbor boy steals the gun that a mobster fledgling loses after a botched drug deal, which was used to shoot a dirty cop, and now he has to find the boy to get the gun. The boy shoots his abusive dad with the gun as well. Now this is where it gets really insane. The boy gets lost and ends up kidnapped by some sickos that make really f**ked up porn. They had the kid in a closet suffocating from saran wrap around his head. I don't even wanna know what the medical cutting tools were for. So Walker's character saves the kid and ends up getting the short straw destiny by being thrown to the wolves, the Russian mob. They mess him up pretty bad. By the end he has to get the gun back from a mangy pimp and save the kid yet again. You'll be quite impressed with how raw this movie is. It's in-your-face and takes no prisoners. Kind of a shocker too. I'd like to see more action movies of this caliber in the straight to video arena. Paul Walker made this after "...Furious". Not all good movies reach theaters.

The Mystery Of The Towers

Versus Book #71. Got a new conspiracy theory here. You know there's nothing wrong with believing that something could be possible when it just seems like there's a piece to the puzzle missing. It doesn't mean it is true but you never really know sometimes. In this book "Where Did The Towers Go?" by Judy Wood she speaks about her theory on free energy weapon technology being used on the twin towers. I've heard all sorts of wild things so you never know what's possible. Heck, I once heard that the F.B.I. stage incidents to gain funding. Could be, or not. The thing about a conspiracy is that people wouldn't want you to know if it were real. People would do all they could to hide the fact and you would simply come up with a theory. That doesn't mean it's not possible if you have a good premise. Judy's premise is that the towers could in no way disintegrate and fall into pure ash with nothing left unless some sort of weapon destabilized the integrity of the object targeted. I could see how someone could come up with that. Now that I think about it that does seem a bit odd. They say the planes crashed into the building and caused a fire, which in turn heated a massive rod in the core holding the building up, and the core melted. But would that really turn a metal building into ash? I could see it falling in many different ways similar to a wrecking ball but it was a plane, not a bomb on the bottom floor. Even demolition crews using bombs and wrecking balls would have plenty of debris left to scour. It makes no scientific sense for it to just fall as ash leaving hundreds upon hundreds of fire fighters choking on the toxic bi-product. It looks more like Mount St. Helens after the explosion at ground zero. This would really sound far fetched if it weren't for the fact that Judy has plenty of training in her field of expertise. I don't know how some terrorists would get their hands on that sort of technology but someone could be privately funding it, just like that couple in the show "Revenge". Awesome show. It's so bizarre that it takes on the feel of an episode of "Fringe" where the alternate reality uses new technology on us. I would say from the evidence that this is valid so if this is your cup of tea you may find yourself believing in things you didn't believe in before. The picture says it all doesn't it? This is worth a look. She may be onto something. I'm agreeing with her theory actually. What's even scarier are the implications. What if someone framed the terrorists in the Middle East in order to destabilize our economy? Now that is my theory. Go run with it.

Dressed To Kill

Dark Angel #7. Some girls just seem to wander down the darkened path with shadows and vines, finding a new destiny. I don't know if Autumn Reeser was ever a sweet girl but she is cool. At least now she is. People don't always start out that way. Her first role was in "Star Trek: Voyager", and that's kinda nerdy. I watch the show too. I don't think you have to be a super nerd to like some things. Most of her work is in t.v. shows oddly. Either she really likes t.v. or she hasn't been noticed a whole lot till now. I liked her in "Smokin' Aces 2: Assassins' Ball". She can't really get much cooler than her role in this movie and it really is one of her few movies if not the only one. Odd how we end up in some parts. Well, she may not be a big movie star quite yet but I like her work. I did notice her in "No Ordinary Family", a t.v. show that I'm still pissed about being pulled from the air during the first season. They have this new strategy to use shows for only 1 season now with no chance of renewal. The bright side is new ideas get the chance to shine where they never would otherwise, at the cost of more lengthy shows, like "Lost". That was the last long t.v. series around. She was in "Human Target", another show I liked, also pulled from the air. And "Pushing Daisies", a sort of hidden gem in obscure and odd t.v. shows. Oh, another movie she was in: "Lost Boys: The Tribe". She likes the dark side thus she's our newest dark angel. "Ghost Whisperer" might be interesting to catch her in. I didn't know she was "The Girl Next Door". Gonna have to rewatch that one. She's one to keep an eye on. I always get her mixed up with Piper Perabo. "Smokin' Aces 2" is a good movie to start with! Two thumbs up if you like hired killers going all out battle royale style. Some other good actors in here too. She plays the redneck assassin with attitude.

Nightmares In A.I.

One movie I've ranted a bit about before was "Stealth", but it wasn't a review so I thought I'd get back around to it. It always seems like you have a good memory if you don't review them right away, haha. Jessica Biel is in this one as a new pilot. She's my woman, in my dreams at least. But that would make her like the only woman on the aircraft carrier with hundreds of men. I don't like those odds. The quest to make smarter and smarter technology leads us to make an A.I. driven jet fighter that can pilot itself. That is quite ambitious given that we're still using human controlled drone aircrafts, which are like overgrown toy planes with missiles attached. I fear the day that happens. It's like Skynet but not smart enough. Make them any smarter and it really could be a scale mutiny. The jet fighter in this movie was smart enough to create its own emotions and thoughts in a quantum brain. Now the problem with a quantum brain is that they can think for themselves. It can even have its feelings hurt. I think it's safe to say that while that might be possible it's like giving a machine life, literally. That's a Frankenstein nightmare really. I think it was inevitable that a movie like this would come out since that is a real fear. I really liked this movie. The only way it could be any better is if you up the action even more. Maybe Area 51 is working on an unmanned top secret aircraft. It would not surprise me. Moral of the story: don't join the Navy for the numerous droves of women.

Time For Unauthorized Surgery!

Sometimes I really, really like a foreign movie. This movie "Anatomy", or "Anatomie" in German, was very well done. I could totally imagine the U.S. making a movie like this but sometimes the U.S. does not come up with every good idea, as some would like to think. This is a great idea for a movie and it genuinely creeped me out. The idea is some doctors are part of an underground cult called the Anti-hippocratics. Ironic as that is, since they're hypocrites for performing sick, unauthorized surgeries on living people. Yes, living people! They end up as those figures you see in museums where you can see the anatomy of the body. They're real bodies in real life too! The made up part is where the movie takes over. In the movie we're led to believe they were all victims of this cult and sliced up while awake. What a sick thought. The cult said they were performing unauthorized research to get funding. That really makes you think about what they meant, but I still don't agree with it. Even if they did make a discovery it shouldn't be with unwilling victims using dangerous science. They wanted to come up with new medicines that were untested and sell them to pharmaceutical companies. It's really a delusion of grandeur. I could see how some discoveries could be made but most discoveries get made in a college, not by some experimental means. Maybe that's what happens when people are so smart. They might think they're smart enough to do it on their own and start their own group, secret society. This movie had great foreshadowing and suspense. It was sort of like "Hostel" at parts but still managed to take its own path. I was guessing who the psychos were the whole time. In the end it delivered and one guy really got the worst of it; being plasticized by his own injection. Just as he's trying to inject plain water with salt mixed in into his vein he freezes in that form forever as a figurine. You will really like this movie if you're a fan of horror and suspense and even some gore. I'm glad I found this one. Medical students scare me.

The New VR Craze

This sexy girl happens to be Miku Hatsune, a vocaloid. Vocaloids are simply contructs that sing for you instead of you. You can have a virtual self sing for you and nobody would know that you're the one behind the voice. The figure here is the hentai version of Miku. If you don't know what hentai is then think big breasted young women losing their virginity to demons with many penis tentacles. Don't ask, I don't get it either, lol! But you gotta admit this figure is kinda nice like that huh. It's funny that someone would make a hentai version of a vocaloid but maybe there's gonna be some crossover hentai where regular anime girls get the porno treatment, haha. We all secretly wish we could meet some hyper developed young women. Nothing wrong with that. As long as they're not implants I'm o.k. with that. Demonic as it is you might be more attracted to this version of her than the other. Now what kind of application does a vocaloid have? It would be a virtual character that you could build or buy in a far future world. When virtual reality has taken over we'll have all kind of weird things out there. Virtual whorehouses, virtual killing games, virtual dreams for sale, you name it. Especially those Asians. They come out with things that we would never have, like vocaloids. Someone might even make a construct just to date her in a virtual world. Things like "Second Life" are only the beginning of a new world. Constructs will be your second persona. Miku is a hottie.

So You Want To Be An Acolyte

Well, I don't think I've reviewed this movie yet, lol! It can be hard to keep a track sometimes. I think I've only done one double review in my life, and that was a Batman game. It's a good game, ha. This time I got "Acolytes". The word acolyte refers to a student. An assistant if you will. A protégé. In this movie we have a killer burying a body in the woods and a kid sees what happened. He waits for the guy to go away and inspects the scene. This is an Australian movie by the way. One of the better ones. So the kid goes to school and gets two of his friends to try to blackmail the killer into killing a bully. Nice idea but a dangerous game to play. This starts to work at first but quickly it frays into madness as the bully counter offers the killer. Now the killer and the bully are on the same side. What we end up with is a standoff of sorts. The girl gets kidnapped and the guy that likes her is force to go looking for her. His friend has gone missing but later he finds out what really happened to him. The outcome is looking grim in this one already at this point. He tries to set her free and the killer comes back. His wife happens to be in the dark corner of this room with a knife. It turns out the killer is married to another killer! And they have a baby even. How twisted is that! The kid that wants to save his girlfriend meets a bad fate and learns why he was a bad student, or in other words, acolyte. The girl ends up being the survivor. It's an unapologetic, uncompromising, and realistic approach to show you how bad choices can lead to more bad choices. This movie does not go down the path you would think. Can killers fall in love with each other? Maybe.

The End Of Classic Art

What is classic art to you? To many it would be renaissance art. This picture here is classic art no doubt. You see a lot of detail in this picture and it's very clear. The reason for that is back then paintings were their photographs so they wanted to do a good job. That kinda makes me like painting more now. We all have digital cameras and cell phone cameras but we never think about how before all that paintings were the only way anyone could remember any person or place. Classic art is dead with the rise of photographs and those have been around a long time. The irony is how art has evolved. We have artworks all around us now that are just as good or better than those greats and we don't acknowledge them. Painting styles are cooler and more detailed now. You could call many modern classics. Photo art is amazing now days with the ability to manipulate photos and put multiples together. Truth is we've surpassed the greats a long time ago but the greats are the greats. It's like comics; we've all but mastered the comic art and there is some really cool comic art out there now days. Old comics are classic but the ones we have now are so much more full of talent that it's really ironic. Modern art is not classic but it could be. The problem is there are so many great artists now that it would be too many to notice. Real art is done for the art, not for acknowledgement, although it does help. The craft comes first. Tattooists are also highly skilled artists. It's not easy. Very skilled art.

Scream For Us

Scream Queen #12. For a good scream there's always Paris. I don't mean the destination. I mean the blonde. Yes that would be Paris Hilton. She did a good job in "House Of Wax" alongside Elisha Cuthbert. I was wondering if she'd ever do any mainstream horror since I'd seen a DVD cover or two at the video store with her in some lesser known horror movies. Yup she can scream. And she can die pretty good too. She had an awesome death scene in this movie with a rusty metal pipe jamming through her forehead. I was crazy about her after watching "The Simple Life" and I like her more for doing horror movies. That's funny when you think about it. Poor Elisha didn't fare too well either in this movie. Didn't she get her fingertip cut off? Ouch! Those girls dun got cut up. I did notice the scene where she was in night vision, lol, making fun of her ex that released footage no doubt. Classic. The story behind house of wax was really good and it was easily one of the best remakes out there. If you look up the original it's from 1953! This one is from 2005. Too bad she won't be doing much more horror. I have a feeling she's done dying in movies. I was hoping to count the many death scenes of Paris but I think she's moving on. Oh well. We can hope she comes back. Come back to horror Paris! You know you want another fatality under your belt.

Ghost Slaves And Masters

In this anime movie "Ghost In The Shell 2: Innocence" the atmosphere takes on a whole new feel compared to the original. The first anime was one of the most successful anime successes of all time and still is one of them. It has had games and a series made from it. It has become legend. In this movie you don't know what to think at first because you have no idea how it relates to the first movie at all, but it sucks you in immediately. A detective whose humanity is almost all gone, aside from his brain being real, searches for the answers to who killed the owner of a sex bot. He's a cyborg in a world where people hardly know if they're human or cyborg anymore because cyborgs have grown feelings. The main difference is the cyborgs don't age. I imagine that could become big business in the future where everyone wants to stay young forever, like a doll. The sex bot is basically an artificially intelligent robot made for sex, and made to act just like a real woman. It's the evolution of the sex doll. Imagine people marrying sex drones in the future because they know how to love and act totally human. What a weird world that would be. You could buy a wife. And she might not mind if you're a cyborg right? Yeah so the line gets blurred. This mystery leads the detective to search for the killer until he finds the problem. A man that runs the company making the sex bots steals human souls and puts them into the robots. Now the souls can't be real but you can make a digital construct copy of a person's soul in the future, which is pretty much the same thing. So a robot could feel tortured if it were a life that remembers who it was. The best part, which this is a spoiler for, is that the robot's ghost from the first movie comes back in this one. In the first one she fled into the internet from her body. Now she came back and entered a new robotic body to save her partner. Her partner was more human in the first one. I love the story behind this one and it's sure to make you really think and rewatch more than once. This future scares me but at the same time I'd love to be a part of it. The question is how human you'd really be.

What You See Is Not What You Get

Looking at this picture of Hayden Panettiere I almost wondered if she had tats for real. Not many celebs really change that much that quickly so I didn't fall for it. It does make one wonder what's possible digitally though if you can put tattoos on people. You could manipulate anything you can see on the internet really and nobody would be the wiser. We only know what we see really. In the future all t.v. may be broadcast over the internet so the wool could be pulled over our eyes quite easily. This reminds me of a movie where they manipulate war propaganda on t.v. and everyone thought it was real. Well on the internet that would be much easier to accomplish. One day you have a nice, clean image and the next you could have tats. Pretty wild in a way. And for all you know people would believe it. I've even seen sites that have fake news articles along with fake pictures so nothing is off limits these days. In a world where news online can be tampered with who can we trust? It might seem like cyberpunks are untrusting but that's only because of the possibility of reality turning out like one of those cool movies. If censorship online got too bad then that could lead to something similar. If we had new laws that went against our way of life that could do it too. While other countries have different laws they say we have it worse with censorship in certain areas. That makes me wonder what that means. You can't trust what you see on the internet. It's getting to be a world where we don't know what's real anymore. Does that scare anyone? It's good to be aware and alert. To an extent some paranoia is healthy. We have no idea if someone is watching our activity as we type even. "The Matrix" has applicable attributes to reality. Do you trust the electronic world before us?

Let The Tournament Begin

I love me a good action movie with hired guns going at it with each other. This movie "The Tournament" was a nice surprise. It takes place in a random city that ends up getting shut down. Yup, the whole entire city folks! So that can't be a major city at all I'm guessing. If it were that would be way too insane. This secret society of rich people run tournaments where hired killers face off against each other against their own will in order to save their lives. But there can be only one winner so obviously someone has to die. The premise is really cool and there aren't many movies where they do similar things from what I know of. They have the whole gamut of players here too so you can bet on seeing every type of hired gun there is, or a good assortment at least. You don't really feel like rooting anyone on since they're all killers so you inevitably don't care what happens to them, but don't let that stop you from wondering. I kept trying to guess the whole time. I wish there were more movies with plots like this but then they would say that movie is copying this other movie so take it as it comes. That's some serious stuff if they can shut down a whole city for this death match. You'll most likely have a favorite kill after watching a few. They even implanted microchips to track them so it's like a video game. I'd be really pissed off at whoever was sponsoring that. Are there any winners in this? You gotta find out. Why do rich people have to be demented? They're so bored that they get their kicks off of killing. Crazy rich people.

War Of The Badasses

You think you're badass? Are you as tough as these two? I decided to use these two since they resemble super soldiers. Rain from "Ninja Assassin" and Phillipe Nover from UFC. I think it's safe to say that most of us aren't super fighters and far from super soldiers. Keeping up with current news it's plain to see that things are changing. Stem cells are all the rage now. So what if someone used stem cells to create super strong people like in "Dark Angel" the t.v. series or "UKM: Ultimate Killing Machine"? I have this theory. If it's in movies then the military already knows about it and are working on it. You could say I have this fear that our government is one step ahead of us at all times. Think about it, they say Area 51 is supposed to be hiding top secret technology and stem cells are already being used in the news as an alternative to surgery. Lasers are being used as surgery alternatives as well since you don't have to cut into a person. I didn't even know they could do that yet. So who's to say that people couldn't be experimenting on soldiers? Times are changing faster than we think and we really don't know what's possible. I'd love to be a super soldier. I did read once in a magazine about how they're trying to make people that create their own proteins so they don't have to work out to stay in buff shape. Hell, I also read about doctors working on cyborgs. These two look like cyborgs. And they are two badasses. How do you sign up to be a super soldier?

Punk Saves The Day

Versus Killer #32. A new Versus Killer is upon us. That man is Travis in "Taxi Driver". He didn't start out in the beginning of the movie killing but he may very well have had to in Vietnam. The mentally unstable vet wallows in loneliness and despair, feeling detached from the busy bustle of the city life he's surrounded by. The atrocities he witnessed in the war give him a different view of life. One that separates him from the very society he's wanting to be a part of. He grows a sort of distaste and disgust for the ugly side of mankind and becomes unhinged. He thinks about killing someone that encroaches on our civil rights in a political office. The more frayed he becomes the more he grows anti-social. That's about when he cuts his hair into a mohawk. You get the sense that he doesn't have anyone in life to relate to or talk to. He sets out to save a young adolescent from the clutches of a pimp and the group that house her. So in his own way he makes progress from going after a politician to going after a group of mobsters, even though killing won't give him a good ending. He really doesn't care for a good ending and it seems finalistic, like as if he's fed up with everything and wants to just get away from it all, even if that means a prison cell. We can relate to the punk and feel sorry for the man. This isn't a movie review but I kinda did divulge the whole plot in a nutshell. He wasn't cut out for war as most soldiers aren't. At least he was a hero.

Why Zombies Hate Us

Zombies are a lively bunch... actually they're not. At all. They don't play dead. They are dead. Things didn't start that way though. Once they were alive and now they hate us. Not because they want to hate us but because they have no choice. It's like regressing to a more primal state but it's more complicated than that. If you kill the mind and body slowly enough while increasing the adrenaline you could also end up with the same effect. It could give a person a rabid feeling without getting rabies, like in "Quarantine". I always imagined the process including that a person rots while alive, which is really weird, and the body would produce more adrenaline to kill the pain and strengthen the immune system without result. Sort of like a negative feedback loop. A similar rot could be seen in "Feast" where the guy is moving slowly and his body is "soft" enough for the monster to smash his head with its claws. So it's the adrenaline that makes them hate us as it gets to be too high. Consider it an adrenaline high that has the wrong effect since the brain is half rotted. It could easily regress a mind to a more primal state. A primal human is more like a creature than man. In fact that could explain those movies where zombies seem more like creatures with a bad attitude. The main fact is that zombies must be rotting. As for buried dead, it would require nuclear-electro magnetic energy. It's like reanimating a puppet with invisible strings. In the original "Night Of The Living Dead" the cause was nuclear so that was probably more like fallout. My idea is puppetry. It's like superimposing a magnetic negative of life over a dead body. A buried person would have no life left at all. Kinda like injecting a ghost.

The Beginnings Of Skynet

It's no doubt that I must have ranted about GPS before but I got a new angle. You know that movie "Resident Evil: Extinction" where Alice is found by GPS satellite? Well That is a very real fear. We've heard about Onstar and how they could possibly track you even after stopping service, which doesn't matter to me, but what could that lead to? It could lead to the soldiers being tracked on the battlefield so we know what happens to them. It could lead to the old fear of a laser from the sky that could vaporize a human without scathing the ground. It could lead to a big brother world where we no longer use social security numbers because they could track us with implants. It could lead to a world where we have no privacy what so ever. In a world like that it would make sense since the use of paper would be lessened and that would mean less social security cards. Maybe no wallets even. It would all be in us. Satellite technology is great but it's not hard to imagine that one could watch us like an eagle eye. In that sort of world cyberpunks would rise with the increase in possible security everywhere, the stifling of liberties, the rise of censorship in news, the rise of internet censorship, the rise in corporate run government, etc.

Welcome To Tracer Heaven

I like tracers as much as the next guy but not this much. Apparently there's a sort of fetish for shooting with tracer rounds and blowing things up at night. Like a club if you will. But who would have those sort of rounds or explosives? Who would do this for fun? Either ex-military or a militia or some rednecks with connections. I can see how you'd like to blow things up for fun in safety without getting put in prison for it. Actually that does sound like fun. For some reason I think you could get addicted to that rush and end up like Tyler Durden in "Fight Club". I wonder how quick your money would go that way? It might also be a cool way to learn how to shoot better if you got the right type of goggles. I don't promote blowing things up near residential areas or suburbs but if you know of any wide open expanses that nobody cares for then that might be your ticket. That makes me think of kids playing war games in dessicated cities devastated by war. A new kind of paintball maybe? Tracer paintballs? But what about the explosives; those aren't really safe no matter what you do. Maybe they could be staged to go off in certain locations or be non lethal bombs or self extinguishing flash fire bombs. Don't mess with fire around a forest though. A destroyed city or run down town might work best people. Think about it. Non lethal rounds and bombs could be fun!

Not Strictly Street Legal

Most people like cars that seat two people. I don't mind cars that seat four people either. But when it comes to some dune buggies or smaller cars sometimes you only have room for one or two people. This car is a concept made by none other than Nike, the shoe brand. They have their sights set on making some cars for racing now and this one looks cool. The only thing is this car only seats one. It sure looks fast though. It's called the "Nike One". I don't know what kind of motor it would have but most critics will agree that it would have to have some sort of computerized motor with microchips in order to have this build. That is the wave of the future ya know, the computer motors. They're much lighter and have no moving parts. Someday fixing a car will require a computer programmer. Yikes! I bet this thing takes the corners hard and does better on really flat expanses. Another critic point of view is where's the suspension? That is a good question. I'd say it's probably built into the tires and body itself like a new kind of suspension system not made yet. The rest is what you could imagine. It's fast, it's able to maneuver through traffic quickly, it's possibly not even street legal, and it doesn't exist. But it sure is nice. I'd like one. It would be even better if it somehow had the option to seat two with innovation. Maybe like a jet fighter cockpit would be nice. I'd like to see a car like that. The one seat model is nice though. Wear a helmet with this.

The Ultimate Cure

You may have heard of this. The new thing now days is to get these procedures dealing with stem cell replanting. They take fat from your belly and extract stem cells from it to use as needed in whatever part of the body you want them injected into. Some people have had success with these procedures. I don't know what to think but it sure beats plastic surgery doesn't it! Yeah. I've seen so many botched plastic surgeries to last me a lifetime and it's about time something new came along. I just never thought it would happen in my lifetime. Stem cells used to be controversial but now they have the green light so you see them everywhere. I think it's great if it actually works. Suzanne Somers used stem cells to regrow a breast after battling breast cancer! Sounds like it works to me. Now they have stem cell face lifts, which is really just your stem cells injected into your face. And supposedly it works. Maybe take off 10 or so years. Not bad. I'd like to use stem cells to repair my eyesight so I don't have to wear contacts and now it sounds possible. It's a shock really. But you know it's gotta cost a boat load of money. The kind of money us common folk don't have lying around. With innovations like this you have to be very weary of black market sellers trying to rip people off with fake injections full of something that's probably bad for you. For the rest of us it sounds like real promise. I also heard they were working on using stem cells to fight diabetes. That could work but it would require using stem cells to help you get back in shape, with exercise preferably. What a shock that would be.

Creating Loch Ness

Article #2,200! This video capture is from a photoshop tutorial I think. The creator was making something that looks like tentacles. I looked even closer and saw something more. You know what I saw? I see the perfect propulsion system if you look at how the tentacles were moving. This could explain how some creatures might move under water. No creature has tentacles that long in reality though. If something did it would be a new hybrid monster on the loose! Or maybe a designer Loch Ness created by a mad scientist. Wow, now that would make a cool episode of the "X-Files" or some show like that. We're on the edge of an age where things are changing too so it's possible that this would be the prefect time to have something lurking about that we couldn't quite imagine but yet we are able to create with modern technology. Would someone ever create some mutant Loch Ness creature to terrorize people on purpose? Yeah. Will it happen? Only if some mad scientist feels like it. If something had tentacles like this it would have no problem navigating through water faster than any water vehicle, including a hydroplane. In an age where we have nuclear accidents you never know what could be growing in the deep, dark depths. Man made horrors are the deadliest and the worst of the lot. We must fear ourselves. Or whatever lives below.

The Beat Sets The Hazard

Versus Game #66. Since music is the name of the game last post I thought I'd run with it. This game "Beat Hazard" has a cool feature you won't find in any other game. It's so cool that I think I'm inspired. It responds to whatever music you put in. So if you want a tougher game then you put in some crazy ass psycho metal and you get a bunch of enemies spawning and end bosses up the yin yang. What I'd like to see in more games is a customizable soundtrack and this game takes it even further. This idea is incredibly revolutionary, but not as revolutionary as a motion sensor I suppose. Well it's revolutionary to me at least. Gosh darn it it is revolutionary to some people so there! I know most people are already hacking "Guitar Hero" to play whatever song they want, including heavy metal band I know, but this is cool beans to me. You can find it on the Xbox marketplace for free I think but don't let that deter you from it. It's sort of like a top view "R-Type", although not as amazingly cool as the legend. It's hard to beat a legend with a free download game ya know. If they did redo something like "R-Type" in a game with both side views and first person views then it would be the best. Until then we have "Beat Hazard"! Take caution on what kind of music you use for the difficulty. I'm still new to this technology, lol! It sure beats the hell out of Atari games so people should like it more. Don't ask me what the plot is. I dunno. Do you really care what the plot is? Hell no! Let's destroy!

VERSUS GIRL #68 - Punky Goddess

This new Versus Girl is actually not an actress. I doubt they're all actresses anyways but that's besides the point. This time we got a singer! Her name is Cher Lloyd. I grew this fascination with her and fell in cyber wuv wit her. Don't laugh, well o.k. you can laugh. It's unrequited wuv at best. I came across this blog that made me think she was related to Christopher Lloyd from "Back To The Future", but she's not. That guy recently made a cameo in "Piranha 3-D" by the way. She's not related to any movie star but she's a breakout talent. It's not my first choice of music for me personally but I like to rant on anything I think is cyberpunk worthy since I keep other people's likes in mind. She's incredibly cute and I'd give my left arm just to meet her but that won't happen. That would be so cool if she were the daughter of Christopher Lloyd though wouldn't it? Oh well. Ya see, first I had a crush on Emma Watson, and now it's another U.K. girl. That's funny. It's always nice when they start doing something as a kid so they don't have any fear when they get older. How would you describe her music? Urban? Modern? Dunno, I'm not really into that type o' music as much as other but she's good. Her hairstyle is awesome with the one side shaved off to make it look like a mohawk. I'd call her cyberpunk just for that hairdo. She's got a punk feel to her with her new tats now. See her on "X-Factor" before all the tat work. Wat ya think? She's a hottie punk.

Liquid Animation

One of the first places that people saw "Aeon Flux" and other animations, like "The Maxx", was on "Liquid Television". That show had some of the coolest animation I've seen anywhere and that was a long time ago by now. I imagine the animation would be a lot better by now. They should bring it back. Maybe it was just what people liked back then because it had a retro feel. To bring it back now you would have to update the look and feel. Or maybe it could come back as a net show exclusive. That's the rage now. I imagine net shows will get longer in length and more numerous with time. They may even start competing with regular t.v. shows if they were to get popular enough. That idea almost scares me though since that could kill television. We already shop at Amazon for books more than we do real book stores and that's killing the brick and mortar store. We rent movies online now too. That's killing DVD rentals. Anyways, a net show would be cool. Animation has come a long way since then so it's not a bad idea. One example of an independent show is "Robot Chicken", which got largely popular on digital cable, and now they sell DVD copies of the show. It was a free show on a free channel that made waves. Public access was kind of a dud but it may make a comeback. I'd like to see a "Heavy Metal" animation show based on the magazine! That would be raunchy and gratuitous. Until then we can dream of the animation boobies and gore. This type of show will pop up again someday.

Abraham V.H.

One of the coolest sounding movies ever has to be "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter". This movie isn't out yet so I can't fully review it but I can sure as hell try, lol! From what I've seen this looks really good and it's going to be shot in 3-D! It was only a matter of time before someone thought of this. One of our most memorable presidents now takes on a secret life as a real hero. The idea is the people thought of him as a hero in real life so why not make a movie where he really is a hero, saving us from vampires. I think this has cool written all over it. The question is will it be an MTV movie? I only ask that because I saw an MTV interview. I doubt it is though. If it's in 3-D that means it's going to theaters. The book is supposed to be very well written, with many historical facts. I saw it on Amazon and it does look like something I'd read. And no doubt the book has much great praise. The man that helped liberate tons of slaves now let's the secret out; he fought the slave owners who were vampires! I have to say I do like these more historical vampire movies a lot because the modern ones are very much what you would imagine. I thought it was just a movie but being a book first is 100% cooler. The reason this movie is possible is because the copyrights on any literature pertaining to Abraham Lincoln are long gone. Much like what happened with H.P. Lovecraft works. They call this a mash-up I believe.

Her Name Was Flux

One of my fave shows on MTV was "Aeon Flux" starring the femme fatale super spy Aeon Flux herself. In a future like hers people lived in one of the last remaining cities on Earth after a mysterious plague swept across the planet. The premise is completely post-apocalyptic and for that I love it. I don't love the idea of an apocalypse but it makes for good viewing. They had some cool technology in this show, including portals and inter dimensions, morphing, sentient inanimate objects, speaking through dreams, alien sex, floating bases, killer grass, and much more. It boggles the mind to even think about a future that advanced. Yet, can you be jealous if it followed surmounting devastation at the hands of unknown origins? Not really. I mean that might be one of the last cities standing so you would have to enjoy a limited reality even if it is futuristic. The show itself is genius and ahead of its time even now. The movie did a good job of representing the animation series. The only gripe I have is that Aeon Flux didn't wear her same scantily clad outfit she wore in the anime. I mean Charlize Theron did a great job but I wanna see some skin! They did the same thing to Daisy Duke in "The Dukes Of Hazzard". But oh well. Can't get everything you want I suppose. This show birthed "Reign" as well. Good stuff.
