You may have heard of this. The new thing now days is to get these procedures dealing with stem cell replanting. They take fat from your belly and extract stem cells from it to use as needed in whatever part of the body you want them injected into. Some people have had success with these procedures. I don't know what to think but it sure beats plastic surgery doesn't it! Yeah. I've seen so many botched plastic surgeries to last me a lifetime and it's about time something new came along. I just never thought it would happen in my lifetime. Stem cells used to be controversial but now they have the green light so you see them everywhere. I think it's great if it actually works. Suzanne Somers used stem cells to regrow a breast after battling breast cancer! Sounds like it works to me. Now they have stem cell face lifts, which is really just your stem cells injected into your face. And supposedly it works. Maybe take off 10 or so years. Not bad. I'd like to use stem cells to repair my eyesight so I don't have to wear contacts and now it sounds possible. It's a shock really. But you know it's gotta cost a boat load of money. The kind of money us common folk don't have lying around. With innovations like this you have to be very weary of black market sellers trying to rip people off with fake injections full of something that's probably bad for you. For the rest of us it sounds like real promise. I also heard they were working on using stem cells to fight diabetes. That could work but it would require using stem cells to help you get back in shape, with exercise preferably. What a shock that would be.
Article #2,200! This video capture is from a photoshop tutorial I think. The creator was making something that looks like tentacles. I looked even closer and saw something more. You know what I saw? I see the perfect propulsion system if you look at how the tentacles were moving. This could explain how some creatures might move under water. No creature has tentacles that long in reality though. If something did it would be a new hybrid monster on the loose! Or maybe a designer Loch Ness created by a mad scientist. Wow, now that would make a cool episode of the "X-Files" or some show like that. We're on the edge of an age where things are changing too so it's possible that this would be the prefect time to have something lurking about that we couldn't quite imagine but yet we are able to create with modern technology. Would someone ever create some mutant Loch Ness creature to terrorize people on purpose? Yeah. Will it happen? Only if some mad scientist feels like it. If something had tentacles like this it would have no problem navigating through water faster than any water vehicle, including a hydroplane. In an age where we have nuclear accidents you never know what could be growing in the deep, dark depths. Man made horrors are the deadliest and the worst of the lot. We must fear ourselves. Or whatever lives below.
Versus Game #66. Since music is the name of the game last post I thought I'd run with it. This game "Beat Hazard" has a cool feature you won't find in any other game. It's so cool that I think I'm inspired. It responds to whatever music you put in. So if you want a tougher game then you put in some crazy ass psycho metal and you get a bunch of enemies spawning and end bosses up the yin yang. What I'd like to see in more games is a customizable soundtrack and this game takes it even further. This idea is incredibly revolutionary, but not as revolutionary as a motion sensor I suppose. Well it's revolutionary to me at least. Gosh darn it it is revolutionary to some people so there! I know most people are already hacking "Guitar Hero" to play whatever song they want, including heavy metal band I know, but this is cool beans to me. You can find it on the Xbox marketplace for free I think but don't let that deter you from it. It's sort of like a top view "R-Type", although not as amazingly cool as the legend. It's hard to beat a legend with a free download game ya know. If they did redo something like "R-Type" in a game with both side views and first person views then it would be the best. Until then we have "Beat Hazard"! Take caution on what kind of music you use for the difficulty. I'm still new to this technology, lol! It sure beats the hell out of Atari games so people should like it more. Don't ask me what the plot is. I dunno. Do you really care what the plot is? Hell no! Let's destroy!
This new Versus Girl is actually not an actress. I doubt they're all actresses anyways but that's besides the point. This time we got a singer! Her name is Cher Lloyd. I grew this fascination with her and fell in cyber wuv wit her. Don't laugh, well o.k. you can laugh. It's unrequited wuv at best. I came across this blog that made me think she was related to Christopher Lloyd from "Back To The Future", but she's not. That guy recently made a cameo in "Piranha 3-D" by the way. She's not related to any movie star but she's a breakout talent. It's not my first choice of music for me personally but I like to rant on anything I think is cyberpunk worthy since I keep other people's likes in mind. She's incredibly cute and I'd give my left arm just to meet her but that won't happen. That would be so cool if she were the daughter of Christopher Lloyd though wouldn't it? Oh well. Ya see, first I had a crush on Emma Watson, and now it's another U.K. girl. That's funny. It's always nice when they start doing something as a kid so they don't have any fear when they get older. How would you describe her music? Urban? Modern? Dunno, I'm not really into that type o' music as much as other but she's good. Her hairstyle is awesome with the one side shaved off to make it look like a mohawk. I'd call her cyberpunk just for that hairdo. She's got a punk feel to her with her new tats now. See her on "X-Factor" before all the tat work. Wat ya think? She's a hottie punk.

One of the first places that people saw "Aeon Flux" and other animations, like "The Maxx", was on "Liquid Television". That show had some of the coolest animation I've seen anywhere and that was a long time ago by now. I imagine the animation would be a lot better by now. They should bring it back. Maybe it was just what people liked back then because it had a retro feel. To bring it back now you would have to update the look and feel. Or maybe it could come back as a net show exclusive. That's the rage now. I imagine net shows will get longer in length and more numerous with time. They may even start competing with regular t.v. shows if they were to get popular enough. That idea almost scares me though since that could kill television. We already shop at Amazon for books more than we do real book stores and that's killing the brick and mortar store. We rent movies online now too. That's killing DVD rentals. Anyways, a net show would be cool. Animation has come a long way since then so it's not a bad idea. One example of an independent show is "Robot Chicken", which got largely popular on digital cable, and now they sell DVD copies of the show. It was a free show on a free channel that made waves. Public access was kind of a dud but it may make a comeback. I'd like to see a "Heavy Metal" animation show based on the magazine! That would be raunchy and gratuitous. Until then we can dream of the animation boobies and gore. This type of show will pop up again someday.
One of the coolest sounding movies ever has to be "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter". This movie isn't out yet so I can't fully review it but I can sure as hell try, lol! From what I've seen this looks really good and it's going to be shot in 3-D! It was only a matter of time before someone thought of this. One of our most memorable presidents now takes on a secret life as a real hero. The idea is the people thought of him as a hero in real life so why not make a movie where he really is a hero, saving us from vampires. I think this has cool written all over it. The question is will it be an MTV movie? I only ask that because I saw an MTV interview. I doubt it is though. If it's in 3-D that means it's going to theaters. The book is supposed to be very well written, with many historical facts. I saw it on Amazon and it does look like something I'd read. And no doubt the book has much great praise. The man that helped liberate tons of slaves now let's the secret out; he fought the slave owners who were vampires! I have to say I do like these more historical vampire movies a lot because the modern ones are very much what you would imagine. I thought it was just a movie but being a book first is 100% cooler. The reason this movie is possible is because the copyrights on any literature pertaining to Abraham Lincoln are long gone. Much like what happened with H.P. Lovecraft works. They call this a mash-up I believe.
One of my fave shows on MTV was "Aeon Flux" starring the femme fatale super spy Aeon Flux herself. In a future like hers people lived in one of the last remaining cities on Earth after a mysterious plague swept across the planet. The premise is completely post-apocalyptic and for that I love it. I don't love the idea of an apocalypse but it makes for good viewing. They had some cool technology in this show, including portals and inter dimensions, morphing, sentient inanimate objects, speaking through dreams, alien sex, floating bases, killer grass, and much more. It boggles the mind to even think about a future that advanced. Yet, can you be jealous if it followed surmounting devastation at the hands of unknown origins? Not really. I mean that might be one of the last cities standing so you would have to enjoy a limited reality even if it is futuristic. The show itself is genius and ahead of its time even now. The movie did a good job of representing the animation series. The only gripe I have is that Aeon Flux didn't wear her same scantily clad outfit she wore in the anime. I mean Charlize Theron did a great job but I wanna see some skin! They did the same thing to Daisy Duke in "The Dukes Of Hazzard". But oh well. Can't get everything you want I suppose. This show birthed "Reign" as well. Good stuff.
Late, late night here. Been up all night like a vampire. Almost time to go to sleep. But before I crash I thought I'd review "The Last House On The Left" since the original was done by Wes Craven, which is a total shock. If you like his other stuff and his newer works then you should see what he did in the beginning. The original is a very disturbing sort of exploitation horror movie. You gotta see the creativity for what it is though. Back then they didn't have super great EFX and so stories were somewhat limited. I liked this idea for what it was. A couple of female friends go to the city in the original and meet up with some drug dealers and then end up taken to a house where they get brutalized and forced into submission, then murdered. The really disturbing part was how the killers in the first movie played with the bloody organs as if transfixed on the blood, pulling out the entrails, and then looked at each other afterwards with a look of guilt or shame and walked off. The second one is equally disturbing, albeit not as graphic in a literal sense. It was just as much hardcore as the predecessor but it's got a more modern horror feel. The subject matter itself is just as disturbing but the extreme side won't be found in this one. That's not a bad thing. I liked it and you have to remember the original is a real exploitation piece that's meant to be over the top. The new one is horror strictly. That doesn't mean they can't be over the top but they use discretion when deciding those things. They both work equally well. Wes Craven also directed this one. It's a new trend to be cool enough to remake your own movie. You wish you were that cool. Me too, lol!

Versus Movie #109. In a scientifically prominent future where people are able to get rejuvenations for the right price anything is possible. That future might be one akin to the one in "Gattaca". This movie stood out to me for a lot of reasons but there was one really big thing that stood out. Looking for work in a future like that would possibly make things even harder to get a job. Actually it would. Definitely. Can you imagine a future where you get better jobs based on having better DNA? It'll be the new racism. Color of skin wouldn't even matter anymore in the far future. Most of the prejudices we have now days will probably be replaced with new ones down the road. Much further down the road that is. Now days people pick on others for being bigger, or less cool, or any stupid thing they can think of but the prejudices of the future will most likely be far worse. It makes sense that things would change for the better in some areas and for the worse in others. You can't have everything be perfect in a future where everyone will judge you based on what science tells them. How do you argue science right? It sounds like science is the new witchcraft because it may well be the religion of a future world. This movie did a good job of showing what someone might go through with so much pressure to be perfect. And you think we got it bad now but we have no idea of knowing what the future holds for any of us truly. The grass is always... oh but there might not be grass in this future.
Versus Music #59. This new underground band KILLWHITNEYDEAD are taking the world by storm. They're a deathcore band from Greensboro, NC. This ain't yo mama's deathcore though. They're what I would refer to as evolved deathcore. It's hard hitting, vicious, and catchy as hell. The lead singer has a voice that just emanates evil incarnate. I can honestly say I've never heard vocals like his ever. That's astonishing. They started out as death metal and they were really good for death metal I must say, but their deathcore stuff is much harsher and power packed. What's really cool is their gimmick. Every band has a gimmick and theirs is writing songs about love gone really, really wrong. They're like psycho love stories that you can imagine teenagers spewing out about how much they hate their last girlfriend or something. It's kinda funny but their music is no joke. It's the real deal. They've gotten so popular in such a short time that they already have a box set available. And what's really crazy is they recorded most of that material in the span of 6 months. I say they have a major grindcore influence but that is up for debate. The irony is their packaging would dictate that Whitney, if it's her, botched the killing and took her revenge. Whitney is a hard girl to kill I'd say. Hell hath no fury like a woman... well you know the rest. Don't mess with Whitney. She's pissed!

It's true I've reviewed this movie "V For Vendetta" before but I thought I'd use it as a basis for a side rant. This sort of follows the last post about internet freedom. Internet freedom is closely entwined with physical freedom. They go hand in hand. If we're being suppressed on the internet then it wouldn't be long before something happens in real life. In that movie was depicted a future in the U.K. where the world is so censored that it's appalling. They were censoring everything and damn near everything was illegal. The government was going after people for having their own voice and covering up anything. What if the debates we have now were crimes? You could end up committing a crime so easily in a future like that. If the government was corporation run then they could outlaw anything, even love if they wanted to, like in "1984". The internet is not a good place for censorship because if it got too extreme then websites would vanish and news would be altered. People would only know the truth they would want to show us. I don't agree with piracy but when people share a download they bought it's not exactly piracy since they're not charging for that copy. What they want is to stop us from having the right to copy our own personal items but its been that way for a long time. As the law is now you can copy a DVD or CD as long as it's for personal use. So is P2P really that bad? Are tube sites really bad? You can make copies for yourself but they would rather you don't share them. Well, I doubt those copies are killing the music industry. Some bands, like Nine Inch Nails, have sold work online to cope with this. Stephen King also sold a book online because he knew he could get more profit that way, as he should. Now people sharing that stuff with others is inevitable. I would rather blame war for the big economy problem, not P2P. That's just what they want you to think. They've ran our budget into the ground and they're blaming a mortgage crisis on it. Tube sites are cool no doubt and if someone really wants the DVD they would buy it. If that's supposedly damaging sales then blame the job crisis on them, but it won't work. To eliminate file sharing is an injustice. Imagine a world without it. You would have to suffer during these times if you can't afford anything. People wouldn't like that at all. It's not a crime until they want more money. Then they make the rules. The internet war has started.
Recently some of you may have heard about the Wikipedia blackout. They were protesting something called SOPA. An act to stop online piracy. This whole piracy thing is getting out of hand if you ask me. I mean you could say that Limewire was taken down as censorship because taking down Limewire won't stop P2P from being harmless. What they're after is a way to stop pirated songs, or movies, or whatever from moving but P2P itself is harmless and taking down Limewire was pointless. Now it's leading to the possible censorship of websites that might infringe copyright. What that means is even if you're not directly infringing copyright they can put an order to shut down your site immediately just like in that movie "I Am Number Four" where they were hacking and taking sites down. That means they don't need direct justification for erasing a site except that it might be because an image was used. Even as simple as a blog image. My blog is full of free images from the net but I am in no way infringing copyright and I already know it for a fact. But that wouldn't stop an act like that from allowing corporations from doing it. That would destroy blogging as we know it. That would also destroy internet freedom. If such an act were to go into power then that would be the start of the "real" cyberpunks taking back the internet. You know those movies where the cyberpunks save the world, well life could be like that if they keep trying to censor things. This could affect Youtube too. There are videos, including my own, that use songs, and now they have a technology that reads the song and reports it back to the corporation that owns the song. The only reason my video isn't taken down is because I'm not assuming to be the owner of the song and I'm not trying to make money from the video directly. You want to know what real censorship is like? Look at China. They have a completely censored internet. People there have to use VPN just to see American Youtube videos not allowed there. You know musicians and movie directors and even porn creators are furious about this uprising of free information being hosted everywhere for people to watch or listen to but maybe it's not for them to control. Maybe they could use it to their advantage if they knew how to make even more money. I don't agree with censorship because it could affect other things indirectly, even Wikipedia, if they felt there was too much information about someone or something out in the open. Do you want a future like something out of "Johnny Mnemonic"? If not then we must protect freedom because then the only freedom left would be VR and that's a bit ahead of our time. In a way our news could even be censored. What this could allow is any corporation to whitewash our reality. I don't like the thought of corporate rule but if cyberpunk movies predict it then it might be inevitable. But even still, internet censorship is where the line is drawn for everyone. Piracy should be made clearer. If I download a song I'm not hurting the economy. Now I know some people like those convenient tube sites that have videos available to view without charging. They have this uncanny knack of having the most amazing selection. They're like libraries of awesomeness. I don't know how you protect against piracy but those sites aren't really doing anything anyone hasn't thought of. It's like accusing teens of making illegal porn for taking nude pictures of each other with camera enabled phones. And then teens get put in prison for it. That is ludicrous! Tube sites are a different matter, and I say it shouldn't matter because if people would rather watch a less than stellar copy of a movie then they won't get the blu-ray quality. If people download a song they won't get the actual CD so let them I say. A song for a dollar or a song shared; it's not a big deal except for those that feel they're losing money. But what about Hulu? It's o.k. because they only show movies with expired copyrights? What about new shows? I have seen clone sites and they have amazing selection. If you ask me I don't think it's worth it to keep people from downloading shared info. What will keep people from downloading is the economy getting better. When more jobs are available more people will make more money to spend on goods. During a recession it could cause war so let it be.
Speaking of time travel, here we got "Terra Nova". a cool new show. The season finale just came about so we're gonna have to cross our fingers that they don't leave us with a huge cliffhanger where we have no idea what the ending of the finale meant. The ending was really good too. It's so good that it really makes you hope they won't cut it off. But when it's that good of a cliffhanger maybe they didn't have anything planned. Sometimes that happens with these shows lately, like with "Fastforward". The ending to Fastforward was ended abruptly and it sure left you with some questions. I'd hate to see that happen to this show. The show about a future where resources are almost all used up and cities are housed in big bubbles on a ravaged Earth landscape is a bleak vision of what life could be like if we kept using up all our resources too fast. So what do they do? They create time travel by using a portal and send a colony back to start anew. The problem is that the decaying future doesn't want to die so the one in charge had plans to rob the rich soil of the past of its vast minerals and metals. Even if you could rob the past wouldn't that affect the future? I'm not really sure in this show since they brought up the idea of an alternate reality. If it were an alternate reality then is it really our past? That might explain the end of the finale possibly. It's so far out that you have to really try hard to figure it out. Apparently there was a ship figurehead found in the badlands of this prehistoric world. And the soldiers that came back to destroy the colony fled there once defeated almost immediately, without food or water. It's as if something was waiting for them there. How weird is that? That would be the most insane cliffhanger ever if they don't renew that show. They better! I'm tired of all this cancelling. The finale was great. I loved the dinosaur coming back the future and eating everyone, the guy running to the portal with a dinosaur chasing him, and the destruction of the portal. It was perfect but can it live up to that episode? Sometimes these sort of endings are done to end them abruptly without any explanation. I would hate that. I agree some endings can be bad but even worse if the writers don't know where to take it after trying a really radical plot path. A show like "V" had a sort of bad ending when the alien mother killed the cop woman's boy and father, and her own mother. This may have been a bit too extreme and either done to end the series quickly, like Fastforward, or because they chose the bad ending route. So either it was ended on purpose with a radical idea or it was cancelled for being a bad idea. I really don't know what to say about that since I've seen other shows do this approach as well but I really don't want to see this bizarre ending to Terra Nova be one of those. Is it too bizarre to come up with a follow-up story? Will we be left guessing what it all meant? They better continue this one.

This film "Primer" is a confusing movie so I thought I'd take a stab at it myself. Yes, I have seen the movie and yes I have seen the explanation videos on Youtube, the reviews, and the commentary. I even rewatched parts of the movie to double check the explanation videos. It's a simple idea that comes off nerve racking but it's not that bad once you get it. These smart guys with day jobs they deplore look for something else to do and create a machine that they consider an experiment not intended for what happens later. The idea started as one thing and turned into another when they found a fungus growing in the machine. Their original idea was to create something that could be used for mass transit light rail or satellite launching, since something that suspends something with less mass could be used to shuttle bullet trains or even a missile (satellite rocket). Sounds like a cool enough idea. I was wondering what they were trying to make at first. It's actually quite ambitious for these technology grads to take on such an idea in their own garage. The machine itself is bizarre and apparently has unlimited applications. How do you come up with something like that? That in itself is a great plot. A machine with unspecified use that's basically able to manipulate an electromagnetic field and disrupt the mass of an object. Wow, that's a mouthful. I can't say I've ever had an inkling for such a possibility. This machine is really a strange contraption that sits in a metal box and uses some hard to find materials just to even power it. They were talking about plutonium and palladium, Argon, car batteries, magnets, and other dangerous substances. I don't know where you get half of those things but if the government ever restricted materials then they could track who bought what. There are only so many uses for some things. At one point they insert what looks like a radioactive isotope into the machine. I think in some way this takes it from a mere suspension system to something much more powerful. Their idea was too grand in scope. It's like creating a nuclear bomb in your basement. They even wondered how it stayed powered on after disconnecting the car batteries. Well, the radioactive energy and electromagnetism is enough to keep it running. So these guys found the aforementioned fungus and learn by accident that they had sped up time within the electromagnetic field of the chamber inside the machine. This by fluke shows them that if they can speed up time then they can slow it down, or rather, turn back time. That's the whole basis of the movie and it's freaky how possible that could be. I don't doubt that someone has even figured something out already, but they would never tell us. Some critics wonder how they learned of time travel if they sped up time, well it is the opposite. So once they learn this they do what any geek squad would think of, they study the stock market to make loads of cash. They end up making a machine with a compartment big enough for a person that resembles a coffin hooked up to a big machine. They go back in time by only a day at a time. Simple enough plan but then they learn of their doubles. The doubles are themselves basically. This is dangerous and to run into your double could lead to a paradox. The scary part is the original self doesn't affect anything as long as he stays out of the way, but they learn that you can create a paradox and keep the original self there. One guy creates a fail safe box that goes back a week. Then one of them has a double take the fail safe box back a week and this creates a third self. The third self tries to stop them all from using time travel to get rich and knocks one guy out. Another guy uses his double to become a hero to get adoration from a woman. In the end the doubles want their lives and the original selves must leave in order to stay alive. It's very screwed up. In the end one guy is employing a bunch of people to make a warehouse size time machine but we don't know what for. If I were him I'd be more worried about what to do with doubles if they don't disappear. Very scary idea there. It might be quite intellectual for some but that's what makes it the type of movie you'd watch more than once to figure out. In the end it works. This idea could be more realistic than we know if it's based on real science.
This movie "Mindhunters" was cool and it was straight-to-video. The FBI are good profilers but what if they were up against their own? That could prove taxing. In this movie that's exactly what happens. A group of new profiler recruits are sent to train for a mission when something goes wrong and they're stuck in the middle of nowhere with a psycho that's obsessed with time and clocks. When the time runs out a trap is set, or rather, set off. This movie did a good job of creating tension and suspense. You won't find a lot of high octane action but nobody expects that from a movie like this so you still end up feeling satisfied in the end. The cast was pretty cool: Christian Slater, Val Kilmer, LL Cool J, Jonny Lee Miller, Clifton Collins Jr., and more. Very nice cast indeed for an unknown. This just goes to show you that not all movies have to be theater caliber to be deemed worthy of watching. Sometimes a good script is enough for a more well known actor to take on something, while the lesser knowns get more notoriety for starring next to big movie stars. I won't tell you who the killer was but I can tell you that the guy has a screw loose. I was trying to guess who it was the whole time. Good movies keep you guesssing. The name must refer to setting up smart people.
If ninjas did use this then that would explain something, but... this is supposed to be a samurai throwing knife, not ninja. I don't know if that's true but I could believe it. How else would you use a double bladed knife? It looks like one of those fantasy knives they sell and you never know if it is. Kinda big for a throwing knife though huh? I knew it to be for something like that since hand to hand combat with this might not work so well. Samurai are a secretive bunch and I've never heard of something like this. I know they have throwing knives though. There are different types of throwing knives from different countries. People think it's easy when watching movies but you have to exert a great amount of force to really throw a knife and kill someone with it. You'd have to practice like archery. Now samurai aren't ninja but they do get mixed up all the time. A long time ago they may have been enemies more like it. Ninjas do have throwing knives too. Ninjas are different because they're supposed to be assassins whereas samurai are warriors. I would hate to face either one. Many think that modern groups like Yakuza could be modern day samurai. The thing is samurai weren't bad unless they went rogue. Yakuza aren't exactly good guys. If they exist then there might be a different group as well, a true modern day samurai team. This blade is said to belong to ronin, rogue samurais. I knew a guy that owned one of these once but he didn't throw it at anyone. Special gloves would help. You could play spin the ninja. Spin the scary knife but two will get chosen. Better for fighting.
One of my fave comics is this one right here. "The Maxx" was on MTV a while ago now but it's still one of the coolest comic t.v. shows that existed. The comic itself was very trippy and it went back and forth from the subconscious to the conscious world constantly since The Maxx was a character from the girl's imagination. Or was he? That was most of the debate when reading the comic. It was a mystery that you had to figure out. It had similarities to "The Darkness" with the evil witch doctor and his tiny creatures without eyes. I don't know why MTV follows ratings now days since they're not on one of the main channels. They shouldn't have to worry about popularity and this show was made back when it didn't matter. Now they have shows that disappear. It's not the same world anymore. Fans of this comic would also know about "Pitt" and "Bloodwulf". During that time period comics were quite inventive and straying against the norm. It would be really hard to imagine this comic as a movie because the EFX would have to be very good to do it justice. Otherwise it would come off like cheap CGI and we don't want that. Only expensive CGI for good stuff, lol! The DVD case looks really awesome here.
"Dr. Who" you say. Yes, Dr. Who? Who. Bad joke, haha, nevermind. Dr. Who is a long running show in the U.K. for some time now. It's actually the longest running sci-fi show in history. It's always nice when shows don't get affected by ratings like on the main U.S. channels. Other channels have shows that have lasted a long time, like "24" and "Supernatural". Not so on channel 4, 5, 7, and 13. Dr. Who is widely popular and believe it or not it did get cancelled once a long time ago. Its been redone for the new age we live in, just like "The Outer Limits" and "The Twilight Zone". Except it's still going on strong. The plot is simple enough. It's about an alien doctor and his friends battling evil wherever they find it as they travel through time and space. There's some more campiness in this show than others and it takes a lot of risks, meaning it likes to go into new territory and it's not afraid to be different. I like all sorts of shows and this one is the most imaginative of the bunch hands down. I used to read a comic called "Dr. Strange" and this reminded me of that. Dr. Strange is from the U.S. though. I love time traveling shows like this and "Sliders" because you know it's gonna be totally different every time. Very cool show.

This movie "Nemesis Game" was pretty cool for a straight-to-video movie. Starring Adrian Paul of "Highlander" t.v. show fame, this movie kept a dark mysterious atmosphere the whole time. It kept you in suspense and managed to make you wonder if there was some huge conspiracy cult ring running some depraved riddle game that ends in murder just like the story from history (in the movie). I liked the premise and it seemed believable. I wouldn't be surprised if there ever were a real nemesis game in history. I love conspiracies and this movie made it look very plausible. The clue that started it all was the blue card with a picture on it. So the story is a student girl wants to get a bit of excitement in her monotonous routine and starts getting into solving riddles. The local comic shop owner happens to be a riddle buff and knows more than any comic shop owner should know. That right there would tip me off. But this is a movie and the movie girl never does what I tell her to do. It turns out that guy is a bit of a weirdo. Who would've guessed? The riddle maker turns out to be a weirdo obsessed with riddles. The guy was the psycho behind the game the whole time. The really scary part was how the game went on without him in the end. That means people kept perpetuating it on their own. And the prize at the end of each puzzle was murder since that's what Nemesis did in the story from the book. What a scary idea. Good movie though. This shows that some mysteries are better left unsolved. The creepy part is the murder theme kept going even after that guy.

I love the show "Fringe" and it's crazy fringe science antics. Fringe science is really the most insane of the sciences but if there were strange, unexplainable phenomena then I don't doubt there would be a secret division specially made for this. Now the t.v. show Fringe has a comic. Well, the comic has been out for a while but now there's "Beyond The Fringe". This comic is really cool, not only for its art, but also because it explores what could happen with other far out theories of theirs not explored in the t.v. show. This takes the adventures and mishaps in the show to new levels as these theories are pushing the limits of what one could imagine being on it. You have to admit this show started out with a bang when the first episode had a man with his face melting off. That was enough to make me slightly afraid and yet drawn in by scientific madness. To regular people those possibilities won't enthrall but to people that aren't afraid of actually thinking then nerdy ideas don't have to be nerdy. It's kinda wild to imagine what could be possible out there that they don't tell us about. Something tells me that this comic will be even more out there than the show so you might like this if you like that. Some of those theories are so over my head but I can still grasp them. Cortexifan sounds like nasty business from some game like "Galerians" for the PS1 or something. The psychic drug used in the show gave kids heightened abilities beyond anything known to man. I could see how heightening abilities is possible so that does open the door for freaky outcomes. If you're a brain freak like I tend to be sometimes then this comic could be a real trip. How far beyond the fringe does it go? You'll have to read it to find out. Mad scientists might like this. Or freaks. What's really cool is that DC is allowing Joshua Jackson to write for the comic.
If you like hotrods then you're gonna like this rant. I love hotrods so much that I keep thinking up ways to remodel and mod them. It just occured to me that some things will get better with time. Of course I won't be around in the far future to experience some of these good things but that doesn't make me bitter. We're supposed to imagine what the future will be like. And in the far future people will still be imagining what the future will be like. Or maybe not. Maybe the cycle will lead them to wonder about the past. You never know. So here's my idea... old hotrods of the future will be so much more powerful than anything out now or ever in the history of cars. That's kinda cool. The race to become the fastest land vehicle is still on but I know what would make them faster. If they could hover using some sort of displaced energy to hold back matter then they could slide across a landscape at unreal speeds. Until then though, even land vehicles with wheels will be far more powerful in the future too. I like the sound of a car like the one in "Mad Max" with the motor sticking out really far with the fan belt visible. That car had a nitrous system with turbo "fighter style" button ignition. I have no doubt that cops in the future will have nitrous made available to them. They have a license to kill and guns mounted on the cars. It's gonna be a regular demolition derby. What comes after the motor? The microchip. Microchipped motors will be coming out someday and they'll be smaller and faster. We may not have a huge need for speed over 300 MPH now but if the world was a dust bowl nuclear wasteland like in "Priest" then it could come in handy. If a car went fast enough it would send a huge plume of dirt into the air following behind like in this picture. Might need a force field to keep the car together. At such speeds a vehicle could even lift off into space if made for it.

If you like monsters then you've probably been keeping up with "Grimm" on t.v. lately. This show revolves around mythical monsters from fables and stories read to us as kids to scare us. Well, it turns out those stories are true! Nice idea considering there are more than enough fairy tales to keep the plot going. So the main character is a Grimm, a person that can see these creatures for who they are. Something that really stuck out to me was the story about an ogre. Ogres have unusually strong bones and skin. This condition has been found in humans rarely. One guy in real life on the show "Stan Lee's Superhumans" was able to pound a nail into a board with his forehead because his bones were twice as thick as the normal person. Ouch! There are a lot of cool characters to be found in this show and the EFX are cool. If it weren't for CGI this show couldn't exist. The cop's friend happens to be a wolf-like creature, pictured here. Now the real plot is deeper. It seems the chief of police is the one commanding all the bad mythic creatures, yet he sends out a Grimm to dispatch of other bad ones. What's his motive? My guess is a guess as old as time, power. People can be so power hungry. The amount of CGI in this show shows how t.v. will change in the future. The transformations might be digital but the full transformation phase is actually make-up. That would feel like being in a movie. I like the grim story.
Versus Science #86. Virtual reality can have a bad effect on our subconscious mind if we allow it. That probably went over your head but I'll explain what I'm thinking. I'm thinking of ghosts actually. Not your everyday regular ghosts. Think VR ghosts. And you're like what? Well, it's simple, when it comes to virtual reality people can be susceptible to "cerebral cortex hallucinatory apparitions" as I call them. That would mean that what the mind sees doesn't have to be in the conscious mind, but in the subconscious. You might think that means that a vision doesn't exist but that isn't necessarily true. Just because it's not there in front of you it doesn't mean it isn't in front of you in your mind, and your mind has a way of making things real. Yes that's right, the mind can make something real if the psychic energy was strong enough. Now if you blend this idea with my ghost idea the premise is if your mind believes there's a ghost in front of you then it could literally create the ghost even if it didn't exist before. A real ghost. This is fringe science but I know I'm right about this one. Nobody else may see it but that doesn't mean it can't be visible to you and even kill you. I believe most ghosts to be manifestations of the mind and therefore others cannot see them for this reason possibly. If your mind was strong enough then you could make it real enough for others to see too. And VR could easily make your mind believe that there's something there. VR could create something that wasn't real before. It's not easy to explain but I can imagine it. There are more mental possibilities than they like us to believe.

Here's a cool film from 2007. "The Deaths Of Ian Stone" was part of the After Dark Horrorfest II series. It's up to IV now. This movie stood out to me a lot since it was so original. The story is a guy keeps reliving the same day over and over only to die over and over at the hands of a murderer. That would be really disturbing to me. Especially if you remember dying over and over right? So he has to find out why he keeps living the same day and getting murdered a different way each time in order to stop it all. It sounds like a mix of "Groundhog's Day" with a really twisted horror plot. Not a bad idea really. It's more twisted than you think too. I couldn't figure out what was going on for the life of me but once he did it got really good. Apparently he was being stalked by a demonic force that wanted him dead for reasons we didn't know until later. The twist is nice and it works since I can't really figure out why else he would be dying over and over. There are a lot of critics out there but this movie was cool to me. I like how he woke up in different realities only to die soon after. The tying thread was his friend that kept reappearing for some reason. This is when he starts to unravel the mystery. It's like waking up and remembering past lives. How freaky that would be. It's quite original and there aren't many like it out there. Cool poster. I found it rewatchable and cool.

This girl Anna Chapman is on the cover of a Russian issue of Maxim. She happens to be an ex-Russian spy that nested in the U.S. in New York spying on academic professionals, entrepreneurs, and business lobbyists. She was using the cover of a real estate developer. Her arrest was for conspiracy to work for a foreign government and money laundering. What a sweet gal. She's no deported from the U.S. back to Russia and the U.K. won't let her back either. She wanted to live in the U.K. but oh well. So now she teaches business classes in Russia. Ironic? I thought so. She posed for Maxim detailing her failed spy career. She also had leaked nude photos in Playboy. She did modeling and acting. It sounds like she got back to finding a dream to keep her from feeling bad. The failed spy turned business woman. Well, that might be more lucrative in the long run. Sometimes you have to mess up with bad motives to find out it could've been easier if you just did it with good motives. I don't know how you catch a spy like that because she wasn't really spying on the government but they did indeed catch her in the act. Now we're all gonna really imagine sexy spies when we watch all those spy movies. I sure hope she likes Russia 'cause that's where she's gonna be for a while I'd say. Do you feel sorry for her? Maybe it's for the better. She would never have posed for Maxim otherwise after all.
