finally we had some sun so we decided to head over to Cockatoo Island for some

touristy pass times

Today was an extremely hectic day

first we headed out for lunch and met with a monstrous grunt

turns out we had a flat tire

so we rushed it to hospital (not before downing a few tarts and mocha)

turns out it's fine, we even did a little shopping and I bought the foam for my final year project

anyway

Finally I've paid a visit to the enigmatic Croquembouche Pâtisserie

established sometime around the Christmas of 2005

the dynamic duo from France

started this cafe with impressive resume tucked under their chef aprons

having driven past numerous time at night and the logo still caught my eye

this, was truly an orgasmic moment for my taste buds

even if it's a little outta the way for you guys I'd suggest you to hit it!

(note the font I'm in an extremely chocolaty mood)

First up we tried the

Tarte aux Legumes grillés et Fromage de Chèvre
(Grilled vegetables and goat cheese tart)

To be followed with a creamy salmon crepe

I don't know what they put it in it, leek or something

but together with the fish it brought me right back to the

crepes stand on the streets of Paris

Then stella polished off a blueberry tart engulfed in creamy custard that had a hint of coconut

The coffee......was SO hot and creamy

need I say more?

The mouth watering display rack reminded me of Paris so much

it's amazing that they opened a cafe with such an air of je ne sais quoi

right in the middle of an industrial zone of Port Botany

right across the road is like a crane factory !

Croquembouche is a French dessert made by stacking cream puffs in a conical shape and cementing them together with a toffee.

The owner has a backspace filled with antique furniture

his original idea was to cross a cafe & furniture shop

but he's still testing waters

A friendly duo served us, engaged in the friendliest of banters about

how anal the council could be

next to these beautiful retro Victorian cutlery

were 百年好合 chopsticks as well as a MASSIVE

UFO sized rice cooker (LOL!)

WOW.

I'd respect any cafe with a SMEG fridge.

Food wise .....

sadly, not up to par. especially the coffee, a bit watered down.

They have every element to success if they hired a proper chef & barista

will revisit for his furniture!!!

The White Rabbit Collection is one of the world's largest and
most significant collections of contemporary Chinese art.

Founded by Kerr and Judith Neilson, it focuses on works produced after 2000.

They are a non profit organization, the entire gallery is more of a philanthropic effort,
the building is beautifully designed and curated
I must say Sydney is very lucky to have a gallery as such!!!

Never before had I thought Chinese art can be so awesome.

This was from a few weeks back when I got Sean to drive me to a few
Art Month Sydney venues

First off was CarriageARTWorks

I read a bit about Carriage Works history,
the last time we went there was for Hope Street Market & Saturday in Design !

"The Eveleigh Rail Yards were built between 1880 and 1889,
including the now heritage listed Carriage Workshops.
Train carriages for Sydney's expanding rail network were built from scratch
and maintained within the building."

Now it's a hub for contemporary art and design!

There's a reason the bakers/staff at Luxe Bakery wears a big fat heart on their tees
cause they LOVE their breads and they LOVE their customers more!
They were so enthusiastic and bubbly,
we were peering at the different cakes and immediately one of the lads
almost gave us the recipe to how to bake each of the sweets!
