This is a reasonably priced, head-turning car that will gather a crowd anywhere it goes for years to come! This 1960 Corvette appears to be either a very original car, or an older restoration. Paint is still very nice with a good shine, showing few blemishes, but still showing a few signs of age. Chrome looks to be all original and shows some patina; convertible top is a few years old, but still in very good condition with a clear window. Exterior chrome door handles look to be original as well. Door weatherstripping is a few years old, but still very soft with no cracking. This 1960 Corvette features a set of original hubcaps that are in very nice condition with no dings and a good shine. Tires are Dunlop Gold wide whitewalls with tread showing, however we recommend replacing these tires immediately as they have dry-rotted sidewalls, and are therefore not safe to drive on. One single T3 headlamp remains; the others are halogen units. Taillights are in good condition with no cracks or breaks. The interior of this car is very much if not ALL original, including the seat covers, gauges, steering wheel, door panels, and carpet. All of these components show some wear from age, but nonetheless there are no tears in the seat covers, dash, or door panels. A vintage White-Westinghouse cassette deck has been installed in the factory location with no cuts, and a Hurst shifter has been installed as well. Engine casting number shows 1102043; casting date corresponds to July 5, 1959. We believe this to be a Numbers Matching car, although being a 1960 model, this car was built before VIN numbers were cast in the engine block, and therefore we cannot say for certain. This 1960 Corvette features its CORRECT original generator!! An Edelbrock carburetor has been added; exhaust and intake manifold casting numbers are illegible. This car features a solid frame, and would be perfect for someone that wants to be able to drive a classic Corvette without a huge investment or having to worry about driving it to the grocery store. We don't like to use the word perfect when describing a car, but it seems appropriate in this case! The stainless trim on the vehicle has been polished to such a high shine that we were under the impression that it had been chromed, although the previous owner assures us it is still stainless steel. Weather stripping is brand new all around, and is extremely soft. The chrome door handles are just as nice as the bumpers, as is all the other chrome trim on the car -- even the ashtray shows a flawless mirror finish! A 1998-02 Camaro SS style hood looks right at home on this car, and appears to be the only body modification made to this C1. This beauty rides on polished 17x7 American Racing Torque Thrust wheels, which show brand new Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD3 rubber, size 225/55/17. Convertible top is brand new and just as nice as the rest of the car. At quick glance, the interior of this '62 looks factory stock, although a closer inspection yields some nice subtle upgrades. The seats have been redone in real leather by Al Knoch, and are glove-soft with no excuses. Correct loop carpet has given way to plush cut-pile, which goes nicely with the softer-appearing seats. In addition, the original gauges have been seamlessly replaced with premium Auto Meter units, all in the original mounting locations, but now providing accurate readouts. Once again, every knob, screw, and piece of trim on this interior has either been redone or is brand new! This is not your quick average straight axle restoration with seat covers, carpet, and otherwise all original trim. The paint on the instrument panel is just as nice as the paint on the exterior! Dash pad is also of course brand new and looks great. This car features a correct steering wheel with one difference from most other vehicles from vintage: it's perfect! Not even the slightest scratch on the horn button. Original seatbelts have been replaced with a set of G-FORCE harnesses, which appear to be much stronger than the originals. A vintage-look cassette deck from by Custom Auto Sound is mounted in the stock location, and matches the interior nicely. Original 4 wheel drum brakes have been replaced with disc all around -- extremely common and easy-to-service GM brakes have been installed up front, which share the same pads with such Chevrolet cars as the 1977-90 Caprice, 1982-94 S10, 1982-92 Camaro, and 1978-87 Monte Carlo. Due to their vast interchangeability, these brake pads can be readily had at any auto parts store and are generally very inexpensive, despite the fact that they are relatively large pads. Ford Explorer discs and calipers have been mounted in the rear. The in-precise and heavy factory steering box has been replaced with a Flaming River Rack & Pinion setup, making this straight axle much easier and more enjoyable to drive. A QA1 front coil-over system courtesy of Jim Meyer Racing helps this car keep its footing in tight turns. Keeping the balance between raw power and reliability is the 430hp Edelbrock crate engine, which features polished valve covers, Edelbrock Performer intake and carburetor, serpentine belt setup with polished pulleys, and a polished fuel pump and thermostat housing. An electric fan has also been added to maximize the efficiency of this engine. Ignition system is all MSD components, which includes the distributor, coil, and wires. A chrome alternator and air cleaner help to set this engine bay off nicely. Backing this engine up is a Richmond 6 speed transmission, giving you the feel of a vintage 4 speed in first gear, and the highway smoothness of a C6 in sixth. Finally, the drag racer's choice Ford 9 inch rear-end puts the power to the ground. Exhaust notes are provided by a set of coated longtube headers and an exhaust system composed of David Lord Custom Performance and Magnaflow components. No worries about the frame, it's clean enough to eat off of, like everything else on the car! This car has an original 1962 Fuelie engine with correct stampings, although it is not the original engine that came in the car. However, this engine has been balanced and blueprinted, with very few miles having been put on it after this work was completed. A nearly identical Roman Red 1962 Fuelie with the less desirable standard Black interior sold at Barrett-Jackson in January 2009 for $148,500 -- we are offering this car to you at nearly a third of that price!! Although the fuel is currently delivered via a 4 barrel Holley carb and Edelbrock Performer intake, an original Fuelie setup is included to turn this car back to stock if desired. Tons of receipts for parts will be included; according to said receipts, this car was painted in 1996, and has probably not been driven much since, as the paint is overall very good with an excellent shine and just a few small touch-ups. Front chrome has a great shine and no rust or dings. Rear chrome is excellent with no apparent flaws. Stainless trim looks mostly original and is in overall very good condition. Door handles are in overall very good condition as well. Original hubcaps and wheels are present; hubcaps are in very good shape with no visible dings or rust, and have been nicely polished. Tires are Firestone whitewalls, and appear to be bias-ply. All 4 headlights are correct T3 units. Date coded glass appears to be correct and original. Weatherstripping appears newer and is soft and pliable. Although it is older, the convertible top still looks great with no tears or rips. Interior shows very well with the newer seat covers having no tears or rips; dash pad is also excellent, as are the door panels. Carpet is correct loop style and looks newer. Gauges are good with very minor fading; clock is not working at this time. Steering wheel is excellent and shiny, and in very nice original condition with no cracks. The frame on this car is extremely solid and rust-free as well. Engine compartment of this car is nicely detailed, and shows correct fuel injection exhaust manifolds, correct hose clamps, and the correct position for the washer fluid reservoir in a fuel injection car, which also appears intact. Ignition shielding is not currently installed, but is included with the fuel injection setup. Current VIN was issued by the state of Kansas in 1980, which we have documentation for, as well as a copy of a title from 1978 stating the original VIN. Also included is a list of previous owners (some with phone numbers) and a written history of the car, as well as the original owner's manual, original Chevrolet shop manual, and several other manuals and guides to the fuel injection setup.
