UK Mail Strikes Called Off

The current series of strikes has been called off to allow negotiations to take place in a "state of calm" and to allow Christmas deliveries to proceed as normal.

I suspect this means that the next couple of weeks will see a gradual reduction in the backlog and services returning to normal just in time for the Christmas rush.

We will begin posting parcels daily again from Tuesday next week.

15 mm Corvus Belli Stock Arrived Early!

Thanks to Fernando and his team in Spain, my first shipment of stock arrived today. I've unpacked everything and so all 117 Corvus Belli 15 mm packs are now in stock.

The large box arrived a few days earlier than I'd expected which was a nice surprise. I initially thought the parcel was being shipped by regular airmail but it came care of those nice people at UPS. Not only could I track it all the way but it was totally unaffected by the mail strikes.

All advance orders will be posted on Monday.

Mirliton Fantasy, Future Wars And Nightmares

Earlier today, I helped someone order quite a few Mirliton Fantasy packs. Whilst working away it struck me that the Mirliton 28 mm Fantasy ranges hadn't been updated for a while. Some of the 2009 re-releases were missing.

So I spent the rest of the day adding lots of packs to various web pages. It's all done now and the site now has full listings of all the ex-Grenadier Fantasy, Future Wars, & Nightmares ranges. All available via our special order system just in time for Christmas.

Update On UK Mail Strikes

Yesterday the postal worker's union announced two 24 hour strikes on 22-23 October. On the first day, mail centre staff and drivers will strike. The next day it will be delivery and collection staff.

The Special Delivery service is usually unaffected so UK orders over £40.00 should still arrive as normal. For the remainder, instead of posting orders daily I will switch to posting weekly at least 72 hours before any planned strikes. This should minimise the chance of parcels being caught in any backlog.

Customers with orders below £40.00 will be offered an option to upgrade to Special Delivery for a small fee. This will be done manually on receipt of an order because the exact fee will depend on the weight etc.

Vexillia Now Distributing 15 mm Corvus Belli

The HYW range has been a big success. So much so that I've agreed to stock all their 15 mm ranges and act as UK distributor for these figures.

This means the excellent range covering ancient Rome, her allies & enemies will be available from Vexillia very soon; to both public and trade customers. All codes now have pictures uploaded.

The only drawback is the possibility of a UK mail strike which may hamper the delivery of the first stock consignment. Until the situation improves only advance orders are being accepted.

Ga Pa Army Lists In Stock

The first volume of the Gå På army lists, covering the "Armies of the War of the Spanish Succession and the Great Northern War", is now in stock and available to buy.

The book contains 23 lists for 7 nations and 60 colour uniform plates. For the contents page and an example list with uniform plates download the free sample pages.

Postal Delays

I'm afraid a small number of mainland and overseas customers are experiencing delays in receiving their orders as a result of random strikes by Royal Mail employees which began in mid-August.

At the moment the Royal Mail insist that 90% of mail is getting through as usual. However, the dispute may escalate to a nationwide strike depending on a vote in October.

As all of this is beyond my control, and very hit and miss, please be patient if your parcel doesn't arrive as expected. Anyone suffering delays of more than 20 working days will be offered either a full refund or a replacement parcel.

Ga Pa Rules Now In Stock

The Gå På rules cover the early 18th century and can easily be adapted for both the late 17th century and the mid 18th century.

The rules were extensively revised in 2008 when the second edition was published. The games focuses on command and control, and on morale at the battalion level. Basing and figure scale is flexible.

The rule book consist of 84 bound A4 pages with clear plastic front and back covers. There are free sample pages available including Thomas' designer notes.
