I have never seen this kind of sale before on Burberry Coats and Trenches before. So I have to post it very quickly so that you don't miss it. If you are looking for a classic Burberry but are lamenting about the fact it's never on sale, here it is. And it ends today. So hurry. Use code TREAT. I have tried adding this Daylesmoore Wool Blend Coat and Burberry London Sandringham Short Trench in the shopping cart and the code was honored on both items. This is a rare sale - I have never seen the Sandringham on sale before. It is a very slim fit version of their classic style. You need to size up. I'm between 0-2 in Burberry coats, and for this style, I take a 2 for a very slim fit.

Daylesmoore Wool Blend Coat (size 2 popped up this morning) in Camel. This is a classic camel coat that I recently bought from Sak's when they were running a promotion. I love it's length - not too long to overwhelm short frames, and the color is beautiful. The sleeves are a tiny bit too long on me, but I can get by without alterations. See it on Jean in many posts. She had her sleeves shortened and belt loops moved up.

I found myself reaching for this Reymoore Trench more often than any. The reason is for its versatility. It has a removable hood which I think is so useful in cold and rainy days. It also has a removable liner which adds warmth to the otherwise think layer of cotton. This feature extends this coat's season by quite a bit. I took a size 2 on this coat.

They've been running a few similar sales recently and every time I checked this chateau parka was excluded from the sale. Well, this time most of the colors are still excluded but there are a few that are not. The colors that are on sale with extra 30% off eligible are dark forest (a beautiful pine green), golden sun (not my kind of color, but can see this a mood changer in the dark dreary winter), and my favorite heathered chestnut (very fallish reddish brown).

I own this coat from last year and love it. The color was called heathered acorn, and I don't see a similar color offered this year. This coat did run a size smaller for J.Crew sizing. I usually wear 0P for J.Crew coat but had to size down to 00P for this coat..

I've been eying this nice little carry on luggage for a while ever since I saw it on Jean's blog. First time I saw it in person was when I was in Paris last Month and visited the Galeries Lafayette. The original price there was around $100 less than in the US so I almost took one home. Well, it turns out there was only 1 left and it came with a kink somehow. So we left without it. The luggage is well made and very light. Because it was made of the molded polycarbonate, the luggage is super bendable. The leather trim is my favorite part of the luggage. It's simply beautiful. The SA in Galeries Lafayette also introduced me to the luggage cover specifically made for the Brics. They come in difference sizes. If you are contemplating getting a larger one for check in and worry about it being tortured on the conveyor belt, you might want to consider the cover.

For a limited time, Amazon is selling the 21" carry on version for $330 (That's $220 off the original price). I have never seen this color combo on sale ever, so the price is pretty attractive to pass. Kicker is that I was not the one who found this deal. Hubby did. He knew I was in love with this spinner trunk. :)

This Wintress Puffer Coat with faux fur hood is a remake of the wintress puffer coat I bought last year without the fur hood. I love the one I got. It's very warm. It makes me look stylish while keeping warm. The cinch on the waist really helps making that happen. I took a black in size xsp which has room for thick sweater underneath.

This Belted Zip Trench coat in wool melton caught my eyes while I was browing. I love the stable brown color.

Hubby recently ordered this mug for the whole family so we never have to argue whose much it is any more. I love it. The only minor gripe I have is the handle design doesn't allow for more than 1 finger through so holding it requires basically both hand since the mug is actually quite substantial in weight. The Golden Monogram version is also back in stock here. Do note though that due to the gold trims the mug is not microwave safe. So for me even though it's quite lovely, the fact that I can't reheat my beverage easy is a showstopper. However, since it's cute sitting there on its own, you can use it for other purposes - like storing office supplies or make up brushes.

I highly recommend this Steve Madden Troopa 2.0 Combat boots. I haven't seen these boots on such a big discount before (was $119, now $54.99), especially when all colors and sizes are available. Back in August, I bought my daughter the original Troopa and had to size up half a size for her. She's worn it for many months now and love it to pieces. Here's what it looked like on her. Troopa 2.0 seems to have added a layer of rubber on the bottom of the boots so that it has more traction.

The sizes of these boots are controversial. So my suggestion is that you get more sizes to try and return the ones that don't fit (free shipping and returns on most sizes).

Bobeau one-button fleece wrap cardigan (was $58, now $29.92 in 15 colors)

I have the mink color in xsp and love it to pieces. I also have seen heather charcoal in person on an SA in Nordstrom before, and loved the look on her. This is the first time I've seen this wrap go down this low in the neutral colors. So grab it while it lasts. I can wear both xxsp or xsp but kept the xsp for ease of layering.

Hello my lovely readers! I decided to do an experimental random thoughts update post to talk about ... stuff. Not just fashion, clothes, sales, but things that I have experienced in my life, things that have helped me in any way, things that I care about, things that I learned, etc. The reason I was contemplating this was because when I learned something cool I always thought, wow, wish I knew this earlier. So I thought, why not share it on the blog so others can benefit too. So here we go, in no particular order.

1. This video cracked me up! How to be instagram famous. I stumbled across it earlier today. How many of you can relate? :)

2. Due to the low euro this year, lots of people from the US decided to take vacations to Europe. I have since read so many blog posts that are just phenomenal. Dogeared here for reference.

-- EuroTrip: London, Paris, Venice, Rome. Great coverage of her impression of the 4 cities by my friend Cee. Very clever and useful overview.

-- Packing for an European Spring Vacation. Again by Cee. I'll sure be referencing it when I need to pack for my Paris trip in October. Well, probably quite different weather wise,

4. Japanese coffee house chain Ogawa opened its first international store in Boston. I've heard so many good things about it. Next time I'm in town, I will sure give it a try. Just look at the latte art ...

I've recently picked up this setlist pullover top in stripe in store and love it. The fabric is heavy so you can wear it into fall. Very nice looking neckline. The color is amazing too. I picked up the xs in store and felt that it was the right amount of slouchiness on me. It shrank a bit after wash. The shirt length in the back is longer than front, which makes it easier to wear leggings. Highly recommend.

I also picked up the les îles de la société tee in xs. Nice soft cotton tee with nautical vibe.

2015 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Presale - My picks

Nordstrom's Anniversary sale never fails to excite me, every year. This year is no different. It's an opportunity to browse this falls new design, AND pick up some new things at a discount. It's not a seasonal clearance, rather a look-forward sale. Prices go back after the sale.

Presale started on Thursday (7/9-7/16) while I was out in California for a work trip. I was too busy to do any browsing, so I couldn't wait this morning to look through some of their selections. You can only purchase presale items if you are a nordstrom card holder, but you are able to see the sale price now. Hello everyone! Hope you are having a great weekend so far. My family went to Cancun for a week long vacation and that was the best part of 2015 for me. The brutal New England Weather has reminded me of why I had a hard time settling down after moving here 12 years ago from the sunny California. Nordstrom's highly rated BP 'Transit' Tall Boot is now $55.97 (60% off original price). Colors and sizes get replenished every day, so if you can't find your size (make sure to size up 1/2 size) check back often. I ordered a black and due to the blizzard in the east coast, haven't received them yet. I do expect them to fit nicely though. See them on Jean here and on Annie here.

Bobeau one-button fleece wrap cardigan in rainbow of colors on sale for $39.90. This sale price is not new and has been there for many months. I purchased mink color a few months ago and loved it. It's very warm and cozy. (On Jean here.) The Heather wild ruby color is on further reduction though to $19.90 which I think is a steal.

Original Tonal Rain Boot (kids) in bright coral (on sale for $45) - I highly recommend these Hunter boots. I am an adult size 6 and I went with size 4M. Fits perfectly. If you are not petite like me, and need a higher shaft version, the women's sizes in burgundy color is on sale for 33% off here.

Burberry coats on sale here. 20% off is not the best I've seen on Burberry sales, but it's decent. Sizes are selective already, but they do pop up. I really like the camel version of the Daylesmoore coat but it only has black left.

List of items that didn't work for me

Elsie fabric Pumps (highly rated, but just doesn't fit my feet) I ordered a 6.5 originally, sized up 1/2 size from my normal shoe size which is what I do on J.crew shoes always, but they are too big. I then tried a size 6, fits fine but the shoes caused a lot of rubbing on the Thalmus, and it makes a squeaky noice when I'm walking. Sigh. The shoes are so cute that I would be heartbroken to return them but I don't seem to be able to wear them. So sad.
