Very Exciting news that one of my favorite brands Silken Favours has been nominated for Best British Product by Elle Decorations British Design Awards 2013

These bespoke animal cushions were dreamed up by Vicki Murdoch the talented illustrator behind the brand. Each one is lovingly screen printed by hand to make these original cushions come to life! Choose from her collection or you can submit a photo for a bespoke service to create a unique portrait of your pet. All of her products start their life from intricate line drawings.

Ok so it's been bloomin' ages since I last made a post. But I am back, and about to go crazy this week with numerous blog posts. I have now been freelance for over a year and a half and things are starting to pick up speed with work.

I've had a very busy summer, I'm looking forward to a break in September when I shall be exploring the north cornish coast and staying in a yurt for a week! :)

The whole country seems to be gearing up for the Royal Jubilee, there's a buzz in London as shops and streets bring out the bunting.

Field Work Pop Up Shop

I spent this Saturday at the opening of Field Work, the Pop Up Shop co-curated by my housemate Caitlin Hinshelwood with fellow textile designer Rose de Borman. The shop is located in Shorditch on 54 Rivington Street London, and is open from the 10th - 18th December. There is a special open evening on the 15th.

My photos don't really do it justice, it is just the most beautiful shop I've ever seen. Showcasing an exciting selection of beautifully crafted products from independent British designers and artists, alongside folk art pieces, and stocking fillers from recent trips to Mexico and India. The shop is filled with colourful treats for a delightful Christmas shopping experience.

There is a large selection of printed textiles, (including some pretty amazing cushions) knitwear, stationary, antiques, original artwork and curiosities. Some of my favorite things are the smallest, like the indian spinning tops and papier mache dolls. Rose's dog Tina is also helping out, making sure everyone has a cuddle and sniffing out any stray mince pies.

Renegrade Craft Fair Gift Wrap HQ

Last weekend I went to the awesome Renegade Craft Fair to hang out with my housemate Victoria Jane on her stall Gift Wrap HQ Inspired by a recent trip to Japan, a love of stationary and gift giving.

Gift Wrap HQ was on hand to give attendees the opportunity to creatively wrap their purchases at the fair, and help give something back by donating all money raised to the British Red Cross Japan Tsunami Appeal. Victoria put a huge amount of effort into making the stall look fabulous as you can see from my snaps. A little birdie tells me there are more beautifully wrapped events coming soon so I will keep you posted!

Sneak Peak from tonight's creative still life shoot from my Iphone! I quite like how it turned out. Really looking forward to getting these retouched. The turrets in the background are meant to be castles.... I think the shoes look like princess shoes so I went with the pink castle theme. It is rather random I know but I think it works. These shoes are like kitsch ornaments for your feet!
