While the nation’s focus this past week has been watching California’s Democrat machine handcuff and abandon a bleeding Los Angeles with mocking joy, Mayor Mamdani is pushing ahead with turning NYC into the real Moscow on the Hudson.

(with apologies to everyone who enjoys this movie)

And while New York City’s tries to dine on the last of the Sinatra-esque nostalgia, a city’s who skyline is a testament to running-dog capitalism, the smiling communist in bespoke duds has his eye on confiscating property — for The People, of course.

The mayor’s socialist-stacked Rent Guidelines Board (RGB), not the free market, will decide how much is too much for a landlord to charge. The board is scheduled to take its final vote on price adjustments for rent-stabilized apartments on June 25, 2026. This plan, by design, injects government into the housing market through rent-control policies that would lower the stock of available units, increase rents and reduce housing quality.

Mamdani recently promised to transfer ownership from landlords to the community — or as Karl Marx might say, seizing and redistributing the means of production.

The RGB sets a price ceiling on 1 million rentable units, limiting the ability of owners to profit. Mamdani then attacks landlords for not maintaining rentals, though they have no profit incentive, using “Rental Ripoff Hearings.” This forum gives tenants the platform to share poor housing and landlord experiences, with the objective of removing “negligent” owners and confiscating private property. This is the textbook communist excuse for expropriation.

From Stalin’s imposition of famine on the Ukraine (the Holodomor) to bring the masses in line, to Mamdani’s plan to starve property owners of access to capital to create an excuse to seize their property, the tactics of the collectivist Left rarely change. Just their target du jour. It certainly isn’t for the good of actual people — in a mass they are just statistics. But the power to control their lives is the real goal of toxic narcissists like Mamdani. Nothing is really beyond the pale, including the hijacking of Christian scripture and torturing it to serve his ends.

Ah good.

The Islamist is now twisting scripture to support his socialist policies.

What could go wrong? https://t.co/cD3nfxVCd6

Isn’t that special? Zohran isn’t just after private property, he’s coming for people’s children, too.

The last free citizen to leave New York, please turn out the lights.

Of course they did. Of course he did. Tim Walz didn’t want to see or hear about no stinking fraud in Minnesota. Information like that was just SO inconvenient.

A Republican-led congressional oversight report alleges that senior Minnesota officials, including Gov. Tim Walz, D-Minn., failed for years to act on warnings about fraud in the state’s social services programs, allowing hundreds of millions of dollars in confirmed or alleged losses and placing billions more at risk.

The Walz administration had the power to stop fraudulent payments to high-risk entities receiving federal nutrition and Medicaid funds, but the state “repeatedly failed to act” after officials raised concerns, according to a 205-page final staff report released by the House Oversight Committee on Monday.

Congressional investigators found that concerns about potential racial discrimination claims — rather than legal constraints — contributed to the Walz administration’s decision to continue paying providers suspected of fraud.

The committee also spoke to nearly 30 whistleblowers, some of whom accused the Walz administration of retaliation against state employees for sounding the alarm about potential fraud.

Of course, because it is a Republican led committee, all the Democrats will wave this off as partisan hit job. The fact that they’ll want to continue sweeping the Quality Learing Centers and Feeding Our Future fraud under the rug tells us… THEY KNEW.

And willfully, deliberately failed to act. While also retaliating against whistleblowers.

1. Senior officials in Governor Walz’s office and Attorney General Ellison’s office were aware of credible, systemic fraud concerns in social services programs as early as 2019 within the Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) and by April 2020 within the state Department of Education (MDE), despite later public statements by Governor Walz suggesting otherwise.

2. Minnesota state agencies had clear authority to suspend or stop payments to providers suspected of fraud without requiring independent direction from courts, law enforcement agencies, or the federal government but failed to act.

3. In the case of fraud by non-profit Feeding our Future (FOF), MDE continued payments even after identifying serious program deficiencies. Continuing payments were a voluntary state action and not responsive to any court order to resume payments. The state’s decision to continue payments allowed hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars to continue going to fraudsters for another eight months until the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) executed a search warrant at FOF’s offices.

4. Litigation threats and fear of accusations of discrimination, not legal or regulatory barriers, were repeatedly cited by state officials as the reason for continued funding of entities suspected of fraud.

5. Despite Governor Walz’s claims, law enforcement agencies, including the FBI, never directed Minnesota state officials to continue payments to Feeding our Future or other suspected fraudulent providers.

Read all of that again. Minnesota officials KNEW there was fraud. And did nothing, other than penalize whistleblowers. Why? Because they didn’t want to antagonize the Somali community. Seriously.

Furthermore, the state media knew there was rampant fraud. And even now, are still trying to put lipstick on the fraud.

Accusing? It's all out there. Blatant failures. As designed to destroy this state.
— TurdFerguson, MD (@TurdFer13999727) June 8, 2026

And the Minnesota Star Tribune is radio silent at this writing. As is, Tim Walz. Go figure.

It was only when the FBI got involved, along with the DOJ, and they also realized the media attention that started really brewing was going to make them look bad, that the mad scramble to cover their assess started. With Jazz Hands Timmy trying to convince everyone there was nothing to see.

Too little, too late though. They were trying to slam the barn door shut after it had been left wide open for years!

Minnesota Governor Tim Walz and Attorney General Keith Ellison are responsible for one of the most stunning oversight failures this Committee has ever examined,” committee chairman James Comer, R-Ky., said. “Today’s report is the culmination of months of investigative work and reveals hard evidence showing how the Walz Administration failed to stop widespread fraud, allowing criminals to enrich themselves at the expense of American taxpayers.

“Billions of dollars were stolen because Minnesota state leaders turned a blind eye to rampant fraud and retaliated against state employees who dared to raise concerns. It is now clear the Walz Administration chose to protect the system rather than protect the taxpayer,” he added. “Americans are fed up with fraud and expect action from the government entrusted with their hard-earned money.”

There have been convictions via the DOJ cases. But those convictions are barely the tip of the iceberg when you consider the fraud is in the billions of dollars range. As for those in the state agencies and the Administration level in Minnesota who turned a blind eye to all of this taxpayer fraud, what is next?

This is great & we all appreciate the investigations. The problem is, we all know nothing will EVER happen to any of these people. Nothing. Ever. Its sad. Its disgusting. We know that most politicians & Gov't employees are bought. We're just bank accounts for them.
— BeltFed Redacted (@BeltFedBS) June 8, 2026

Yes, there MUST be actionable consequences or all of this is meaningless and the American taxpayers will still get fleeced.

Something smells in the city of Los Angeles, and it isn’t the streets.

The mayoral primary election took place last Tuesday, and the expectation was that Spencer Pratt was heading for a second place finish after election night. Nithya Raman even gave a concession speech that night when the numbers began to come in.

Nithya Raman walked out to her campaign funeral in literal tears last night

She can't hide her disappointment at the red wave that showed out in LA Mayoral race

Angelenos are taking their city back from the grip of incompetence. pic.twitter.com/8q1ybdgQmG

— Danny De Urbina (@dannydeurbina) June 3, 2026

However, as the votes continued to be counted, it seemed like Gavin Newsom’s “break glass in case of emergency” measure was underway in both the gubernatorial race and in the Los Angeles mayoral race. The vote counts that were being released were heavily favoring Nithya Raman. Isn’t that just AMAZING, how she is gaining those votes so quickly?

On Sunday afternoon, even President Trump called out California’s snail pace of a vote count, before walking out on NBC’s Kristen Welker.

It's funny to watch "journalists" like Kristen Welker pretend that taking over a week to tell you who won an election is just "how they vote in California."

That doesn't happen in literally any developed nation in the world or any state in America besides California. pic.twitter.com/LlT4FUJJgu

— Greg Price (@greg_price11) June 7, 2026

And then by Sunday evening, Raman was in second place, with Decision Desk officially declaring her the second place winner who would advance in the primary. And even if these counts are hand-to-God accurate, it looks shady and corrupt.

Now, could the vote count still change? Yes. The problem is that in California, ballot “curing” (which allows voters to go back and “fix” their ballots after the election by verifying signatures) is completely legal, and the counting doesn’t even have to be FINISHED until July!

Los Angeles County continues to count ballots postmarked on or before Election Day and received by June 9, drawing the attention of the Republican National Committee. County officials must complete final official results by July 2, and the secretary of state will certify results by July 10.

California’s vote count often extends beyond Election Day because every active registered voter receives a mail ballot, ballots postmarked by Election Day may arrive up to seven days later, and election workers must verify signatures and process late-arriving ballots.

That extended amount of time between Election Day and certifying the results gives the impression that shenanigans can happen. And California’s laws do nothing to dissuade people of that.

I don’t think the L.A. election was stolen. What’s happening is legal.

The problem is that what’s legal in California is gross third-worldist slop that would make a dictator blush.

— Bonchie (@bonchieredstate) June 8, 2026

For his part, Spencer Pratt is… curious… about the current numbers.
https://twitter.com/spencerpratt/status/2063784193688056310
There are more ballots left to be counted, but the odds that they break for Pratt in enough numbers to retake second place? Doubtful. So, what happens now? Will Spencer Pratt walk away from Los Angeles, as he said he would, or will he try and stage a write-in campaign (a much more difficult endeavor)? Karen Bass has already decided that she is running against Nithya Raman, so the race is between the communist who stood by while the city burned, and the even further left loon. In other words, the status quo within Los Angeles will not change, or it will get worse. There are no promises to improve, clean up, or make the city safer. And both candidates will undoubtedly want more money for whatever social program they want to create this time around.

Was Spencer Pratt, realistically, going to be elected mayor of Los Angeles? Probably not, but he had a shot of making the runoff, and the Democrats certainly treated him as a threat to their power structure. It just really depended on just how angry the voters were, and how big the turnout was. Even if this vote is as clean and pure as the driven snow, the public at large who would generally scoff at stories of election fraud and stolen votes has no answer for what is happening in California. It seems that the majority of voters in Los Angeles are willing to prove the definition of insanity yet again. What will it take for them to change their minds? More than fires burning down large parts of the city and the mayor being out of the country when it happened, apparently.

WOW. The dramatics from Scott Pelley are the gift that keeps on giving! He did a sniveling sobbing sit down with the New York Times. The entire interview is ALL about him. He claims he was there to represent. Instead he insists that all the firings, including his, “murdered” his 60 Minutes family.

Jobless news veteran Scott Pelley broke down in tears as he claimed the hysterical tirade that got him fired from “60 Minutes” was a response to the “murders” of his “family” in a “Black Thursday massacre” at the show.

Pelley, 68, broke down in tears several times during an interview with the New York Times as he discussed for the first time being axed from CBS News after nearly four decades at the network.

He conceded that he had been hyperbolic to accuse new network boss Bari Weiss of murdering “60 Minutes” — just to go even further, claiming it was the staff themselves that she murdered.

You know, he totally brought all of this on himself. He positioned himself in the meeting as THE GUY who could sit there and make demands while expecting his bosses to roll over and hand him the keys. By his actions, I think he’s been doing that crap for a very long time and his former bosses were such wimps, he got away with it.

But now, there’s a new sheriff in town. And they EXPECT better from everyone who works at CBS. Scott didn’t want to play ball. So he chose the dramatic tantrum route.

No one saw the Black Thursday massacre coming. This is our entire senior staff. Tanya Simon, our boss, she’s the first woman ever to be executive producer of “60 Minutes.” And she concluded this season with a growth in our audience of nine percent, which is unheard-of in broadcast television, and a growth of our online presence of 190 percent. Last season, we had 2.5 billion views. That’s a third of humanity! So we’re riding high.

“Black Thursday massacre.” Does he think he’s living in mob world??

Oh, so their ratings took a 9% uptick so that a THIRD of humanity is watching 60 Minutes?! Which means no one there is fireable? Horseshit.

As with any company, when there is new management and new ownership, there WILL be changes. As for those who don’t want to change with the new management, here’s the door. See ya!

What Scott refuses to acknowledge is that it was HIS actions at that meeting that were the last straw.

According to him, he had ALL the facts correct regarding Renee Good and Alex Pretti. It was Bari Weiss who was “remembering” wrongly.

And about four hours after our deadline, Bari Weiss sends an email to my boss, Tanya Simon. Two of the things in the email include, can we make the protesters look more violent? Now, I’m paraphrasing. I don’t have the quote, but that’s what was communicated to me. And the other thing, Renee Good’s car. You need to describe her as driving toward the officer.

This is not what you see on the video. On the video, you see the officer standing slightly off the front of the car. And you clearly see Ms. Good’s wheels turned completely as far as they will go, away from the officer. But he shoots her in the head, kills her, and says something about her that I can’t repeat in polite company.

We have gone out of our way in our plan from the very beginning to show the protesters for the responsibility that they had. We had already scrubbed the video archives, looking for those scenes. Somehow that wasn’t enough for Ms. Weiss. The video showed that the officer wasn’t standing in front of the car and she wasn’t driving toward him, but that’s what the president said about that, and that’s the way she wanted it described.

Oh. So Scott Pelley is correct about the events regarding Good and Pretti, and everyone else is wrong. Especially President Trump and Bari Weiss. Therefore, zero changes were made. That certainly didn’t play well with his bosses. Especially as I’m sure Scott made his feelings abundantly clear around the studio.

Then, in his arrogance, Scott claims he’s been in combat.

You haven't been "in combat for this country" you total fraud @ScottPelley. Like countless other journalists I also have been to war zones in Iraq and Afghanistan on assignment and never in a million years would I pretend that was "combat".
Talk about stolen valor. https://t.co/0kU9lczmZQ
— Miranda Devine (@mirandadevine) June 7, 2026

You were a reporter hovering around the edges of combat zones. In NO WAY does that make you even a pseudo soldier! Jerk.

Here’s something else. He literally believes that there is NO bias in journalism.

Give me a break. I worked at Viacom/CBS (now Paramount) for over a decade. Of course, it was +90% Democrats.

Everyone knows this. Everyone.

And newsrooms in particular vote Democrat to a higher degree than Berkeley, California.

And you know what? Fine. I have lots of… https://t.co/OjwkeDfIWd
— John Papola (@JohnPapola) June 7, 2026

Pelley is totally left-wing, and his bias has been evident in many a 60 Minute episode. His arrogant dismissal of media bias during this interview speaks volumes.

Pelley’s arrogance is on full display during that interview. He truly believes he should’ve been able to dictate the terms of his employment. And ran right into a reality buzz saw.

One of the reasons why trust in media is so low is because many legacy journalists are completely out of touch.

You could not get away with that behavior at any run of the mill job. It is revealing to see how blind some are to that.
— Brendan Carr (@BrendanCarrFCC) June 7, 2026

Scott Pelley can snivel and whine all he wants about how all the firings “murdered” the 60 Minutes family. The only adults in the room are those who still work for 60 Minutes.

James Talarico’s campaign thought it a great idea to trot out a girlfriend to try and shore up Beto 2.0’s masculine bona fides about a week ago. Meanwhile, his church is all about “Faithful Polyamory 101”.

The giggles over James’ masculinity began before the standard-issue progressive girlfriend, going back to the wider exposure of his past statements like God is non-binary, “there are six biological sexes”, and “Jesus is a radical feminist”.

Texas Democrats tapped Vanity Fair to put Beto on its cover, wearing jeans posed next to a pick-up and dog, to try and goose his T quotient.

Vanity Fair Cover April 2019 low-res Editorial use only

No one really bought it, but Texas progressives aren’t going to give up on a Talarico make-over, so time to trot out Esquire magazine. Author Dave Holmes takes the tactic that to make James masculinity look better is to both redefine it and to attack the masculinity of any male who has questions.

The rising Democratic star is injecting some wisdom and empathy into Texas politics. Jesse Watters, Stephen Miller, and the like can’t seem to handle it. (snip)

James Talarico is injecting some wisdom and intellect and empathy into Texas politics and becoming extremely popular doing it, while Jesse Watters is on the television talking at length about whether it’s gay for a man to drink from a straw. I know who I’d rather spend my time with. I know who I’d rather be.

These are not real men, and they know it.

Oh, tell us what you really feel, Dave:

These men fall short of their own definitions of masculinity, and it is killing them. And the conflict is happening in a part of their brains and souls that they are too terrified to examine, so all they can do is lash out at the men who don’t care to follow. All they can do is reflexively insult a James Talarico, and the only insult that they can come up with is that he’s not actually a man.

Dave can’t define why so many people — women as well as males — find Talarico’s brand of maleness unconvincing. Hence his attempt is to fall back on the gay panic claim that criticism of Talarico comes from secret gay feelings. Part of this, too, is that Dave is making the call from inside the rainbow-striped tent. The former MTV VJ has his own family issues when it comes to a closeted-gay, artsy boy in a sporty family.

Talarico’s masculinity problem is tied up, too, in his claim to being a Christian pastor. Far be it from anyone to pass judgement on someone’s professed beliefs, but the behavior in the name of those beliefs is fair game. Besides Talarico’s own mindnumbing comments on what God and Jesus are really about, the Austin church he’s a member of, and the seminary he graduated from, are part of The Presbyterian Church USA and … boy howdy … are they little more than Woke-on-Steroids pseudo-ideology wrapped in vestments.

A progressive Christian denomination is facing sharp internal backlash over a proposed rule that would require ordained clergy to be in monogamous sexual relationships.

The Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) is set to vote on the monogamy requirement at its General Assembly this summer in Milwaukee. The measure has sparked fierce debate and outrage from three official progressive church committees and polyamorous church groups, according to Religion News Service.

PC(USA)has dabbled in politics for decades and, in the early 2000’s, decided to oppose Israel in all things. Their embrace of the so-called LGBTQA+ community started in the 1970s and has followed the same radical trajectory as the secular movement, including ordination of gay clergy in 2011 and redefinition of marriage in 2014. PC(USA) worships now on the altar of DEI and can’t believe that anyone would hold ordained clergy to monogamy. PC(USA)’s LGBTQA+ ministry is having a collective fit about the proposed monogamy rule:

In its official response, the Advocacy Committee for Women and Gender Justice claimed that requiring pastors to be monogamous attempts to “regulate the private lives and relational structures of individuals in ways that risk harm rather than healing.” The committee further argued that a monogamy mandate could “unintentionally reinforce systems of shame, silence, and spiritual coercion.”

The Advocacy Committee on LGBTQIA+ Equity also argued that the monogamy rule reinforced White privilege. The group claimed the mandate imposes “a narrow, culturally specific understanding of family” that “privileges a dominant cultural framework over the lived realities of communities of color and global Christians.”

Talerico was raised and educated in this environment. Steeped in its hostility towards any real Christian tradition, beliefs, or values so that even monogamy for clergy is beyond the pale of what is acceptable to “church”. How can any man be masculine in an environment that preaches against the most basic of values of the Judeo-Christian Bible — a man committed to a woman and being responsible to his own wife and children? Genesis 2:24

Talarico is male. But we don’t see any “man” in him.

The critics used words like “shame”, “persona non grata”, “clown” and “disgrace” to denigrate Secretary of War Pete Hegseth for his comments on the 82nd Anniversary of D-Day, June 6, 1944. We served up our blood and treasure that day. As our Nina told you yesterday, we offered up 4,000 on that very first day. For your situational awareness, saving Europe’s bacon gives us every right to lecture them, especially the Cheese-eating Surrender Monkeys known as the French.

Too harsh? Nah! They called Secretary Hegseth a “disgrace” and much more. From the Mirror US:

U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth was branded a “clown” and a “disgrace” Saturday after using a D-Day anniversary ceremony on French soil to take aim at NATO allies and European immigration policies, sparking a furious backlash online.

Critics flooded social media with condemnation after H egseth addressed the 82nd anniversary of the Allied landings in Normandy, with many arguing he had desecrated a solemn occasion honoring the sacrifice of thousands of soldiers who died liberating Europe from Nazi occupation.

Whiny liberals who know little to nothing of the Long Gray Line of service in the Profession of Arms get the luxury of kvetching with no cost. More:

“Having this clown speak is a disgrace in the first place,” wrote one user, who said he still couldn’t believe “this is the trash the people of this country chose to represent us on the global stage.”

Oh, maybe we are the same level of trash. Naff off, whiners. We voted and we won. We do need partners with us:

Hegseth uses his D-Day anniversary speech in Franch to take veiled shots at NATO and European immigration policies pic.twitter.com/D588VxMweq

Hegseth is right that the boats of men arrive and force leaders their native-born citizens to cave to the demands of these immigrants who share no common values. Worse, they don’t try.

We all have seen the problems of Great Britain. What about the scenes in Europe:

The riots in Paris and now in Brussels are not new events. They are a recurring pattern. Muslim immigrants and their second and third generations exploit any random pretext to erupt in spontaneous rage and burn Western cities.

Here is a clear example from Italy.

In September… pic.twitter.com/wlYUISgoHp

— Liza Rosen (@LizaRosen0000) June 4, 2026

The rest of the Mirror US:

The outrage was triggered after Hegseth invoked the imagery of wartime beach landings to attack migration across the continent.

“Sadly, today, different European beaches are stormed by different dangerous ideologies,” Hegseth said.

“Beaches in Spain, in Italy, in Greece, and in Bulgaria. Boats and men arrive. When will European capitals do something about that invasion?”

He also warned that European leaders had grown too “comfortable” with their freedoms since World War II, adding, “The men who fought and died here restored freedom to Europe.”

“That freedom must be maintained by this generation of leaders and war fighters, or what they fought for was merely temporary.”

Hegseth has had several deployments and knows the costs. What would be a true disgrace would be having to go back and send in our blood and treasure once again. Especially when we know that they have thrown away their safety and security with both hands. Pishers. You can read Secretary Hegseth’s full speech right here.

NATO has not stepped up to help the United States but hangs out in the cafes because of that we provide. Interestingly, out Middle East partners have stepped up. Theocratic fascism is a more immediate threat to those living in the Middle East. NATO has well-forgotten what the Middle East has learned more recently.

The 82nd Airborne Division Chorus performed for the 82nd Anniversary of D-Day. The 82nd Airborne Division is the World’s 911 and America’s Guard of Honor. Here the theme from “Band of Brothers” is performed:

Maybe the Europeans don’t want to remember the costs of that time. Too bad. It would have been a disgrace if Hegseth hadn’t reminded them.

Just when you thought things could not get any worse on the left coast, we bring you Oregon governor, Tina Kotek.

Kotek, who is up for re-election later this year made many empty promises. Those with common sense knew this. Portland is still very much a trash pile- unsafe, unsavory, with homelessness of mentally ill and drug users still on the streets. Schools are atrocious. Infrastructure is crumbling. ICE protests have been a clown show. And, speaking of clown shows, a recent (satirical) article in That Oregon Life highlights the utter ridiculousness of Kotek’s leadership.

According to this, Tina Kotek was said to have “shocked residents this week” when she showed up wearing her usual lesbian pant suit accessorized with a new mohawk. Orange, perhaps?

Tina Kotek, you absolute disaster, spare us the pathetic #WearOrange circus!
While you’re prancing around in your virtue signal orange, pretending to “honor victims,” Oregon is bleeding from the failed, soft on crime, gun grabbing nightmare you’ve inflicted on us. “Common sense…

— OregonWolf (@WhitewolfOr7) June 5, 2026

Think again. Bright purple suits her, they/them, whatever, better.

No, this is not an episode of Portlandia, although it very well could be. Kotek was said to have shaved the sides of her head and is now sporting a mohawk. What would happen if Tina were to truly do this? Would the wokesters of Oregon be cringing and crying out cultural appropriation? According to this, there would be none of that outrage. “They think it suits her well”. Willing to wager that they would cover for Kotek, calling her choice to shave her head and dye her hair purple as a bold move. Because Oregon is a bold state. Yeah, a bold state of perpetually triggered, politically correct weirdos in the bigger cities surrounding rational Americans.

Tina’s popularity is, indeed slipping, so there is some hope:

But this article is a laugh.

Governor Kotek believes government should reflect the people it serves. And after reviewing recent legislative sessions, transportation proposals, and public comments on social media, we felt the mohawk was the most accurate representation available.”-a “spokesperson” for Tina Kotek

More snickers:

Despite the criticism, insiders say the governor is fully committed to the new look.

State agencies reportedly spent most of Tuesday updating official photos, replacing portraits, revising websites, and determining whether the mohawk qualifies as critical infrastructure.

The Oregon Department of Transportation even announced a preliminary study to determine whether the hairstyle could help improve traffic flow.”-Tyler James, That Oregon Life

And more:

Meanwhile, lawmakers are already discussing additional style changes to better reflect their policy priorities.

One proposal would require every member of the legislature to adopt a hairstyle matching their district’s budget deficit.

Another would allow state employees to claim hair dye as a transportation-related expense.
As of press time, thousands of Oregonians were still debating whether the governor’s new haircut was real, while several Portland residents had already copied it and declared it a protected cultural landmark.”-Tyler James, That Oregon Life

Earlier this year, Tina Kotek extended Oregon’s homelessness emergency for the third time in her tenure, citing “improvements” although the increased of number of homeless Oregonians tells another story. Walk along the streets of Portland to see for yourself that not much has changed, if at all. One never knows where and when they will stumble upon a tent or see a poor, addicted soul, on the verge of being a total zombie, hunched over in the perils of addiction.

Oregon is reported as one of the worst performers in the country, educationally, ranking 50th among states in fourth-grade math and reading, 49th in eighth-grade math, and 47th in eighth-grade reading. Then, there was the misuse of funds, potentially for the First Spouse. Most recently, Kotek ordered DMV to not offer undercover license plates to ICE.

Tina Kotek’s leadership has been a disaster for the state of Oregon. Her stance on crime, drugs on the streets, illegal criminal activity and state infrastructure has been a wreck. It is no wonder someone wrote a satirical article on the official “hairdo” of Oregon.

Orange really is your color, Governor.

You decriminalized hard drugs, turned Portland into an open-air fentanyl market, and ran a revolving-door justice system that kept putting predators back on the street. But sure—throw on the bright vest, pose in the garden, and lecture us…

— Sadie (@knockknock_x3) June 5, 2026

Honestly, a purple mohawk on that face would be an improvement. Now, all she needs is some stretched ears and one of those ugly septum piercings. These expressions are also, cultural appropriation, hipster-kiddies, but we can’t expect y’all to know historical significance if you can’t read or write.

Happy Sunday, dear friends! Wow, here we are at the first Sunday of June. Kids on vacation, weather warming, and thoughts drift to beaches, picnics and bbqs. The portside never sleeps, I fear. Lots of shenanigans this past week as we are still witnessing in real time the FUBAR of “vote counting” by the cheating Democrats of California. It’s going to be a wild ride come this November. Don’t worry, dears, I’ll be sure to have a fully-stocked bar of the best of adult beverages for us. Let me pass the plates and flutes of bubbly and let’s get to it. L’Chaim!

It’s been 82 years since over 4,000 lives were lost in the first wave of attacks at Normandy. In all, over 70,000 troops were involved. From Omaha, to Utah, to Sword Beach, and all the paratroopers involved in the airborne attack. So many of them were barely 18 years of age. It is up to us to remember WHY they fought.

Yes, they fought for Freedom. But they also fought to free men from the yoke of governments who were dictating every aspect of their lives and taking away their religious freedoms as well.

So what, exactly, did they fight and die to protect?

We reach for familiar words — freedom, democracy, the American way of life. They are true words. But beneath them, older and more fundamental, lies a freedom we too often neglect to name first: religious liberty. The right of every human soul to seek God without a government’s hand on its throat.

The Founders did not place religious liberty at the head of the Bill of Rights by accident. Thomas Jefferson’s Virginia Statute for Religious Freedom, which predated the Constitution and became part of the intellectual foundation of the First Amendment, rested on a radical conviction: that conscience belongs to God, not the state. The Declaration of Independence had already established the principle — that rights come not from governments but from the Creator, and that no government can legitimately take what it did not give.

The logic was simple and profound: If government can control conscience, no other freedom is secure. Religious liberty is not merely one freedom among many. It is the sentinel right. When it falls, every other liberty becomes vulnerable.

The men who landed at Normandy understood this. They knew instinctively that they were fighting against regimes that demanded absolute allegiance not merely from the body, but from the soul itself.

Nazi Germany sought to dominate every institution that stood above the state, including the church. Independent clergymen were silenced, imprisoned, or killed. Religious belief was tolerated only so long as it submitted to political authority. Across Europe, totalitarian governments claimed the authority to define truth, morality, and human worth itself.

D-Day was not merely a military operation. It was part of a broader struggle against governments that believed human dignity and conscience existed only by permission of the state.

Did our soldiers completely understand it as they were landing on the beach? Scaling the cliffs under heavy fire? Fighting their way across France and enduring insanely harsh winters? Not completely. But they KNEW that if they didn’t fight and prevail, all would be lost and Europe would fall to one of the most insane dictatorships in the world.

Nazi Germany, led by the insanity of Hitler, was profoundly evil. So evil that those who stood trial at Nuremberg were, in several cases, baffled as to why their following Hitler’s rules were such a problem. That’s how much they absorbed his evil and thought it was good.

As for our American soldiers and our allies, D-Day was the start of righting a very terrible wrong. At the cost of over 4,000 lives that first day, many more on the next waves, and countless more in the months to come.

90% of the soldiers on the first boats to hit the beach didn't live to see the end of the day. Look at those faces. Some of them never made it to 18.

Never forget that they paid the ultimate price for our freedom. We live our lives the way we do because of them. pic.twitter.com/nVCkuLaVHs
— The Iceman (@the_iceman64) June 5, 2026

Medal of Honor recipient Walter Ehlers and his brother, Roland, landed at Omaha Beach as part of the second wave.

The Ehlers brothers were several hundred yards apart when they approached Omaha Beach in their boats, facing machine-gun, mortar and rifle fire from Germans on the cliffs.

Walter Ehlers led his 12-man reconnaissance team onto the beach through water nearly over the men’s heads, and they made it to the heights through a breach in German minefields without a single casualty. The next day Walter learned that Roland was missing in action.

On June 9, Sergeant Ehlers single-handedly killed four German soldiers while on patrol amid the Normandy hedgerows, then destroyed three machine-gun nests and a mortar position, at one point leading a bayonet charge. The day after that, firing away while in the open, he enabled his men to withdraw when they were surrounded. He was shot in the back, but he managed to carry a wounded comrade to safety.

It wasn’t until June 14 that Walter found out his brother Roland was killed and never stepped foot on Omaha Beach. That same story happened to so many other soldiers over those days.

Our soldiers spent years away from their families. Years of hardship and battling through towns, fields, the woods, and dealing with all kinds of weather conditions, lack of supplies and more.

Again, they persevered in order to bring Freedom to all. And many lie in graves across Normandy, Luxembourg, Belgium, Italy, Africa, and across the Pacific. They persevered for Freedom while missing loved ones at home.

It certainly got dusty in here!

In 1984 President Ronald Reagan eloquently spoke of our soldiers who fought and prevailed against unimaginable odds.

https://twitter.com/JerryDunleavy/status/2063267754694639981

And then they fought again and again through Europe.

Many, as is brilliantly portrayed in Band of Brothers, fully understood the freedoms they were fighting for when they camp upon the horrific concentration camps.

It is imperative that we not only remember, but that we teach our children and grandchildren why D-Day was so important for the war, and for the world.

82 years ago, D-Day turned the tide towards freedom. We honor, we remember, and we are so very thankful for men such as they.

Just in time for Pride Month, New York State Democrats have passed a bill to remove the words “mother, father, paternity” from all state laws. Just a signature from Gov. Hochul and — voila! — “Mother’s Day” becomes “Gestating Parent’s Day.”

Although the woke movement has slowed, it certainly hasn’t died, and like a roach infestation, even if you think you’ve won, it can come back with a bang. The proof in the pudding: the obnoxious new bill passed by both chambers of the New York state legislature that changes the words “mom” and “dad” to “gestating person” and “non-gestating person.”

New York Democrats just advanced Democrat State Sen Luis R. Sepúlveda’s bill which would replace the words mother and father with terms like “gestating parent” and “non-gestating parent”

This is real pic.twitter.com/uxUc3OXPlR

— Libs of TikTok (@libsoftiktok) June 2, 2026

Democrats, of course, will tell you this is all about inclusivity because somewhere, somehow, the word mother as a description of a female who has given birth has offended them. And, as we all know, the offended individual — real or imagined — takes precedence over all logic and common sense.

“Mother” would be replaced with “gestating parent” while “father” becomes “non-gestating parent” or “parent” in family court along with in domestic and education law, under the legislation, passed this week by state Democrats.

“Paternity” proceedings to determine a child’s biological father would meanwhile become “parentage” cases, under the bill, which was rammed through the Assembly in March and of the Senate this week.

A “putative father” — also known as a deadbeat dad — would now be called “an alleged parent” in official state records, under the bill, which was sponsored by liberals Sen. Luis Sepulveda (D-Bronx) and Assemblywoman Amy Paulin (D-Westchester) and will go to Gov. Kathy Hochul’s desk for approval.

While the bill hasn’t made it to Hochul’s desk yet, she has shown herself to be a ready and willing Woke ally no matter how radical the demands. Though, when Woke demands conflict, what will she do? Here we have a bill to stop offending the Queer crowd with “mother, father” words and yet there is another bill on deck for her that will proclaim August 6, 2026 as MOTHER’S Equal Pay Day

MEMORIALIZING Governor Kathy Hochul to proclaim August 6, 2026, as Mother’s Equal Pay Day in the State of New York

WHEREAS Mothers who work full time, year round and have children under 18 at home typically have lower earnings than fathers ($38,000 compared to $55,000), meaning mothers only make 69 cents for every dollar paid to fathers; this translates to a wage gap of 31 cents on the dollar, which is larger than the overall wage gap of 23 cents; and

Leave aside for a moment the perpetuation of the false claim of a “wage gap” here, how do Democrats demand that so-call gender-neutral language must be used in legislation while also promoting the idea that mothers earn less than fathers? Maybe we should ask James Talarico if he could poll some of his Neighbors With a Uterus for an answer.

It’s one thing for us to point and laugh at this insanity, but we ignore it at our own risk.

The goal of Karl Marx was to eliminate the family. You’re seeing it happen before your eyes.

Let’s add the continued radical nature of government school districts grooming children in Queer activism including the marginalization of parents and the rights of mothers and fathers to know what is happening in the classroom. And the Democrats full court press in supporting the continued mutilation and sterilization of children, including the ideology behind that push.

And while this radical Queering continues apace, some gays and lesbians are noticing that family-oriented straights are rethinking their support of a movement that said “We just want to be left alone” when it is coming for their kids.

The rigid refusal to compromise on this radicalization — they also changed the Pride flag to insert mandatory references to TQ+, the discredited BLM themes, and “brown people” — is merely a part of re-writing the narrative back to the 1970s, before AIDS and gay integration. There is little attempt to engage the straight majority with reason anymore — or even gays and lesbians queasy at these new mandates — just an impulse to provoke, condemn, or cancel them.

I suspect the queers are so insulated they don’t even realize that this is what they have been effectively saying to Joe Public for a decade now. Remember when they told you that gay and lesbian people were just like everyone else, and just wanted to be left alone? Scrap that. We’re actually queers who believe marriage is a “fundamentally violent institution” and that the sex binary is a white supremacist fiction. Now we’ve gotten marriage, we will indoctrinate your kids in queer and gender theory, fire you if you don’t repeat our pronouns, force girls to shower next to boys in locker rooms, give irreversible sex changes to minors, and insist that “a penis is not a male body part. It’s just an unusual body part for a woman.”

And, after a few years of this kind of messaging, and no pushback from regular gays and lesbians … guess what?

Support for marriage equality from the center and center-right is nosediving. Gallup shows a decline from 71 percent to 65 percent support for gay marriage among all Americans in just three years.

In a word … DOAH!

Those of us who warned the 2015 SCOTUS decision in Obergefell v. Hodges was one hot mess that would lead to every bit of the radical queering of the culture we see now can only say … Told.You.So.

Hey, Sully? You’re a little late to the party, pal. Now get all those regular gays and lesbians you talk about, and who are whispering to you in private, to stand up and be counted to counter the Queer. Because, unless the TQ+ part of Pride Parade stops targeting families, women, and children, this is going to get ugly.
