I was sent a link recently to a video that was powerful in the way it presented the idea of going the extra mile for customer in ways that were easy, but unexpected. I left the viewing of the video inspired and wanting to find new ways to make my own businesses better.

While I was inspired by the video and would willingly send anyone to the site I also discovered this video to be a video marketing strategy for a series of inspiring books and motivational downloads.

The video was the marketing tool. It was emotive, challenging and powerful, but it was also designed to BE the selling tool for the affiliated products. Testimonial after testimonial located after the viewing of the video indicated this series was an excellent resource and empowered employees to find job satisfaction in serving customers well.

I think the reason I was so taken with the approach was that it was vastly different from most video marketing strategies.

In most cases the video presented is a sales tool telling you why the available products are just what you need. The videos will provide the testimonials and bits of details that leave you with partial answers to thought provoking questions.

These are key elements in video marketing and they are effective, but the novel approach to giving you a complete and motivational video download was unexpected.

Here's why I believe this approach works. The emotive video does not actively sell a product or service. Because this is true there is no pressure, just the emotional connections associated with the viewing. Once the video is over the viewer will think of others that would benefit from viewing this feel good motivational video.

The soft sell of the video is literally making it possible for an incredible number of potential buyers to visit the site and find encouragement.

Even if they have no interest in buying the product they will likely keep the link handy to share with others over the long-term and I'm pretty certain there will be some of those that find the motivational material a strong enough reason to make a purchase.

What's more is that the video is essentially timeless. The end product could change from time to time, but the video remains the cornerstone of the marketing plan. And because so many will forward a link to business associates, family and friends the end result is a positive experience even after the viewer understand there is a no-obligation set of products that can be purchased following the viewing.

This is a great example of giving more than you have to, and by doing so you end up with improved traffic and a higher conversion rate.

I think part of the problem with most sales videos is that they often breed distrust from the beginning. Most people see the sales pitch and watch for the angle they know is coming. This secondary type of marketing approach takes them off guard it is a simple straightforward story that turns out to be true, emotional, motivating and inspirational. And that story ties very specifically into the product being sold, but in the end the video stands on its own merit.

I took two videos of my grandson on his first four wheeler and post them to youtube

Here are the titles that I used.

The only different is the word crash. That one word made a differences in 10,214 view in 6 months.

So when posting video try to find those words that you can us as tags to your video and you will very happy with your video post marketing.

Just go to youtube and do some searching under the market you are going after and scan through the videos and look for the videos that have a lot of views and check the tags that they have used in the title and in the tag field.

After you did you home work and have a video or slide show ready to go post it with the keywords that you think will pull the most traffic.

Also find a video format converter and convert the video you have to an new format and resubmit it with a new title and different tags and see how your case study come out for you.

If you are thinking about posting video's online for marketing reasons you want to try a few different things.

Posting Funny videos is probably the fastest way to get viewers. Funny videos are a dig hit.

The next kind of video would be some type of shock video. I did a test with a video title. I submitted the same video two times but in one of the titles I added the word crash. As of today the one with out the word crash has been viewed 39 times and the one with the word crash has been viewed 9,339 times.

This goes to show that keywords are a big player when submitting a video.

The next kind of video is plain commercials. These do not always work that great but every now and then you might get a hit so do not leave these out. I watch a guy do a video of just him talking to the camera and withing one month he had 70,000 views.

Another video I watched was in the funny categorie and it had over 500,000 views in two weeks. This is really what everybody wants. Just 1% of that converting to traffic to your webpage would probably help the pocket book if you are promoting a product, service or business.

So don't sit around waiting for video to get bigger jump in know and start video post maketing to drive traffic to your website.

1. Youtube videos are now listed in the video.google.com video search index.

2. Youtube has announced that they will start revenue sharing with video publishers.

Chad Hurley, co-founder of YouTube, said Saturday 27th January 2007 that his wildly successful site YouTube.com will start sharing revenue with its millions of users.

What affect has this had on the internet marketing community, to date, very little it seems. It appears the internet marketing community is slow on the pick up in relation to video marketing on the internet.

Here is a quote from a very large and popular internet marketing forum about video marketing "I always thought to rank well in a video search engine you have to have a good catchy video that is viral. This will help to get people embeded the google code into their site giving it more popularity and then Google will know this and rank it higher."

This is simply not the case. That is like saying, build a great website and the money will come, e.g. a Million dollar website not indexed in the search engines is worth exactly 0 dollars. This is the same with video on youtube and video.google.com. You may have the funniest or most inspiring video ever made but if it is not seen by anybody, you have just wasted a lot of time and energy producing it. When you have literally tens of thousands of people submitting videos each day the competition is fierce in terms of getting your videos to the next stage, which is listed on the high ranking lists, which is what you need to do to get maximum exposure to your videos.

Since Google.com has purchased Youtube there was much speculation about how and what this would affect the video community as a whole, this weekend we have seen that Video.google.com has now added the entire Youtube Video collection to its database effectively tripling the video.google.com video database. The true effects of this merge have yet to be seen, though those of us who regularly monitor the top 100 results in video.google.com will see that nothing much has changed in the top 100. Though videos that ranked well for specific niches have been pushed down the VERPS (Video Engine Ranking Positions) e.g. videos that for the last 6 months ranked in the top 5 for the search term Diet Coke Mentos, have now been pushed down the VERPS to the second page and replaced by videos from youtube.com.

Now Enters Youtube.com announcing that they will start revenue sharing, simply put, sharing the revenue generated by advertising surrounding the video content similar to what sites like www.thevideosense.com (sharing 50%)is doing currently with their video publishers. How they plan to do this and how much they will be sharing has not yet been released, the leaders in the video marketing community are hoping it will be a lot. There has been no mention of their terms and conditions relating to the video content that will qualify for revenue sharing, most likely this is one of their strategies to increase their fresh video content being submitted to youtube and trying to eliminate their members submitting copyright material which has caused them so much grief up to date.

At the very least, Since the recent youtube announcement this will get the attention of the internet marketing community now that there is the added possibility of making money from videos.

There are huge changes happening on the internet right now. This is a ground floor opportunity to be right at the forefront of Internet Video Marketing. Its pretty much an even playing field right now. There has never been a better opportunity to be involved.

Making a video is fun, but making a profitable video is even better. Best of all, to make a profitable video, all you need to do is create a video 'how-to' and provide links to your website inside that video. As for subject matter? That's truly the very best part because it doesn't matter what your 'how-to' video covers.

Just be sure that as you create your new how to video that your website url is:

At best, displayed the whole time your video is running, or
At worse, displayed when the video first starts and right before it ends.

Let's face it, people love how-to's... and they search for them every day on a very large scale. As an example, a friend of ours had this experience to share:

"Just a few days ago I was folding clothes, and on a whim I went to google videos and typed in "how to fold a shirt". Sure enough there were a few videos there. I watched them (and learned a very cool way to fold shirts), and it impressed the kids too."

She then told us, "So here's the thing. I'm not a professional shirt folder, I wasn't checking out the competition, I just did a search for something on a whim, and then I watched a few videos."
There's the key phrase - "ON A WHIM"

Internet marketers often find themselves with tunnel vision. They focus so intently on what they have to offer that they miss the big wide world, and what that world is doing while he or she is thinking exclusively about just their own website.

Also keep in mind that you aren't creating feature length films here. Your videos can be anywhere from 1 minute to 10-15 minutes or any length in between.

I have been working online since 1995. In all the years I have been marketing online I have never thought that getting first page search engine ranking would be so easy. I came across this website about 6 months ago about marketing online with free video hosting sites.

My first thought was I don't know how to make a video and I don't have any type of camera's either. But I kept reading and I am glad a did. I have been getting first page results with video marketing for the last 6 months. The best part was I did not need to have any type of special equipment. I had create my first video within 1 hour of getting this video posting service.

Here is a little test that I started June 25th. 2007.

I found a affiliate product online the 25th and create a free blog. This blog was not advertised any place, only with video's I submitted June 27th. 2007. It took me a little under two hours to create a video and submit it 6 times with 6 different keywords. When you post your video with software that sends it to 38 free video hosting sites this is what happens. 6 x 38 = 228 that is how many free video hosting sites I posted my video to. Plus 12 public social book marking sites. 12 x 6 = 72 now add 72 + 228 = 300 posting. That landed me first page results within 10 hours.

I submitted the same video 6 time with different keywords and this was my results.

1st. Keyword submitted 6-27. first page 10 hrs.
2nd. Keyword submitted 6-27. first page 10 hrs.
3rd. Keyword submitted 6-27 first page in 28 hrs.
4th. Keyword submitted 6-27 second Page in 40 hrs.
5th. Keyword submitted 6-27 First Page in 47 hrs.
6th. Keyword submitted 6-27 Found it on the 14th page in 47 hours. Found it on the 4th page under video search. No big deal I will just create a few more video's and post them with the 6th keyword and have first or second page ranking within 48 hours.

Do you think I could have posted that many times with out the template that this video posting company offers. I know for a fact I can't. Try to post a video at youtube and see how long that is going to take you. Speaking of youtube. Did you know Google purchased them for 1.6 billion dollars in 2006. A company that had 28 employees and under two years old. Why, Because video is the future of the internet and goolge has seen that.

Creating video is easy when learning with video. This is my #1 way to market anything online. Just think about what I said. I found a product, built a web blog and advertised with only video's and had first page ranking in google in 10 hours with 2 keywords. That is a new blog with no pr ranking. No back links and no advertising except for video.
