Another evidence of a well-done advertising campaign is parodies. One will never make parodies of something that nobody knows. But there are a lot of people and students that try to create similar commercials, some of them are as good and funny as the original ones.

Many books and movies are dedicated to horses. This smart animal is a symbol of grace, devotion and diligence. It is Monday again, and we have decided to begin a new hot working week with a good belly laugh. Today the main attraction of our attention will be men. After quite a positive post about black panther sighting videos I’d like to talk about some not so positive facts. A lot has been said about death penalty in China recently. There are 69 crimes that deserve death penalty by law and about 10,000 people are being shot in China every year for committing such crimes. This number is 5 times bigger that the number of people executed in other countries all together.

Nevertheless, there’s no evidence that death penalty will be restrained or abolished in China. Not long ago in the province of Hunan 100 Chinese pupils got the chance to attend a public execution. Together with other 2500 spectators these kids witnessed the execution of 6 Chinese criminals. Moreover there are some video clips that are being shown on TV during commercial breaks – and the whole country may watch an execution. Chinese authorities think that this will prevent the raise in the level of committed crimes. One of the crimes that deserve death penalty, according to Chinese authorities, is bribery. Among the 69 crimes are also smuggling, procuring, desecration of the graves and money forgery. As you can seem some of them are quite “innocent” but still the price for committing such crime will be the highest.

A lot of people object to such laws in China, even more object to death penalty existence in any country. Amnesty International Organization protests against death penalty, here you may watch its clip – execution the way the executed person sees it.

Anyway, death penalty still exists in many countries, and there are people that support it, saying that some criminals do not deserve to live. And, to my mind, they are right to some extent. There are people that rape and kill children – how can we allow such beasts to live, especially to live on the taxes paid by the citizens among which are the children’s parents?

People will never stop admiring cats: the way they walk, the way they play or the way they hunt. From simple domestic cats – to powerful tigers and majestic lions – they all possess a simple but unattainable grace, and black panther is, probably the best example. Black panther is a black color variation of an animal we call a panther. But in different countries different species bear this name. When we’re talking about panther in North America, we mean a cougar, while for Latin America panther stands for jaguar, and in other regions it is the second name of a leopard. But while existence of black leopards and jaguars are proved – there is no such certainty about black cougar that is supposed to inhabit North America.

There are no proved cases of truly black cougar though people from such states as Kentucky, South and North Carolina, Kansas, Texas and Nebraska report the sightings of black panthers. Biologists and breeders consider black cougar to be a myth they suppose that people misidentify the animal they see. In Florida two dark furred bobcats were caught. Their fur seemed to be black but at closer examination it turned out to be of chocolate and mahogany tint. Also there exists another species – jaguarundi, that looks like a cougar and has a dark fur. So, probably there are no black panthers in the North America. Nevertheless, Black Panthers exist in the folklore of many Indians and together with an owl it symbolizes Death. Also there are a lot of video clips that tend to multiply our doubts. It can be compared with the problem of existence of the Bigfoot - nobody knows for sure. May be the black panther myth is not a myth at all?

Today more and more people go out on a blind date. Though some time ago the ‘pushing factors’ were friends and relatives who wanted two solitary souls they know to meet, today this role is usually performed by our PCs and dating sites. Fill in the form, post a couple of your best pictures, explore other users’ pages and decide whom you would like to meet in real life. Seems so easy, huh?

But in fact it isn’t. According to the famous House M.D. - everybody lies. That’s why such dates are called blind dates: you possess the minimum of information about the person. And even if you think that you do have some information because you saw his or her photos and chatted with him or her online – you may be as well mistaken. You’ll never know if those were real photos and the person that talked to you wasn’t her brother’s or his mum’s little prank. Also you’re always running the risk to be the only one to come to the meeting spot. Moreover, even if both sides manage to show up, one of them might not be satisfied by the sight. Just like in this TV commercial.

Oh, there’s one more minus of the blind dates. The guy (or the girl – but rarely) can be a complete jerk. Or a zombie. Or both.

Anyway a blind date can turn out to be great and pleasant. There is also a veil of unpredictability that makes it so special. By the way, there were cases that people who discovered that they came on a date with their long-forgotten first love, or with the neighbor they were actually having rows with, or with their boss – such unexpected cases are numerous. There are no doubts you will have memories of your blind dates with you forever. Unfortunately, even something like this.

It is summer already – and many of us start thinking about taking a day off or going on vacation and enjoying the ocean. Bright and cloudless sky, sandy beach, roar of the surf – everything is so fine that we can hardly imagine that something wrong may happen. Unfortunately, there is danger hiding in the salty water and Sharks is the name of it.

Sharks are the most mysterious and dangerous creatures that inhabit oceans. These predators can feel the smallest electric field and sounds of the lowest frequency. Their fine sense of smell allows them to feel a single drop of blood dissolved in a million of water drops. That’s why scuba divers that fasten the harpooned fish to their belts often fall prey to the sharks. Though the shark’s vision is considered to be weak – that’s a delusion. They can see perfectly on great distances. Moreover they can feel the weakest water vibrations and identify their source. Their hearing is also very good, so it’s no use following an old belief that if you scream in the water, the shark won’t bite you. It vice versa: as soon as you make a sound you double your chances to be bitten.

If you follow certain precaution steps, such as no swimming if you have any bleeding scratches or wounds, no swimming alone, no abrupt movements in the presence of a shark, etc. – you may escape the dangers. But some people aren’t so lucky.

Sharks rarely attack without any reason. And there is an opinion that people do more harm to sharks that they do to people. And, to my mind, this opinion isn’t groundless. People sometimes act like unwelcome intruders in the sharks’ home. And isn’t it natural to protect your home and territory?
Anyway, be careful if you are going to the beach. And have a good vacation!

A burnout (a peel out or power brake) happen when you keep your car stationary and try to spin its wheels. Because of the friction tires heat up and produce smoke, which is quite an impressive sight. Sometimes tire are not able to get over the spinning race and blow up. Here’s the first clip that will give you the idea.

At first burnouts were a must at the drag racing: if the drag racing tires had high temperature it enhanced the performance of the car. So right before the start of the race participants did burnouts in order to raise the temperature. It probably looked so cool that very soon burnout itself became a form of competition that attracted many spectators that act as the judges of the competition that pay attention to the style and quality of burnouts and point out the best one. Australia is the most famous country were burnout competitions are held, they also take place in North America. Burnouts are also an indispensable part of informal street racing.

Nevertheless burnouts in public places are illegal in many countries, though the punishments differ from paying a fine up to confiscating the car for a period of time. It happens very often that parents get their cars confiscated because their children were caught while doing burnouts. They get fined up to $500 and also have to pay a storage fee around $15-20 a day.

But burnouts also have another happy aspect: sometimes winners of NASCAR races perform outstanding burnouts to mark their victory.

Some people seem to be attracting all the bad luck. Giving stupid answers, behaving in a dumb way – whatever. And sometimes it’s not a simple public ‘oops’ that can happen to anyone, it looks like some human beings forget how to think rationally. Just like this criminal.

Of course, you may say that he was too nervous to notice the sign “pull” or to think and try pulling instead of hammering his body into the door, but in his case I would call it the dumbest preparation for the robbery. Funny, though. Reminds me of a related episode in the movie “Lock Stock & Two Smoking Barrels”.
Here comes another one. While the fist criminal was simply scared and blinded by the fear, this one was already born dumb. No more comments.

OK, enough crime, let’s skip to more intellectual dumbs. Looks like this one really wanted to be a millionaire. Thanks God he didn’t get through the first question. Just look at the impression on his face when he gets it wrong – love that moment, makes me feel important with my ‘B’ in Physics in my 8th grade (that was long ago).

Have you ever thought that dumbness is contagious? Like the swine flu… Well, let’s call it ‘dog flu’. Stay away!

Public Oops Video: Could You Handle It Better?

Every person has a fear to find him or herself in an awkward situation, like falling from the steps in front of a large audience on a special event, or making his or her boss the butt of a joke while he’s standing right behind, or being on the verge of wetting his or her pants with no restrooms available. People try to avoid such situations, but nevertheless they happen whether we want it or not. Yep, doo happens. But it is up to us to decide how to handle embarrassing situations.

Women seem to be an unlimited source of funny and not so funny ‘oops’, but the way they get over the situation is another reason for men to take their hats off. Would you continue to dance if your top was falling off? Or continue to walk when you’ve just fallen off your heels? Twice? Being recorded on video and shown in the news? Some of us would simply run away and hide.

Embarrassing situations are often reproduced on TV: comedies and different commercials offer us a great variety of scenes to laugh at while thanking God we’re not the main characters of the episode.

Anyway, there are some good tips to follow if you managed to perform an ‘oops’. First of all – you should learn how to laugh at yourself. Our sense of humor often helps us to cast away the awkwardness of the situation. Secondly – learn to accept your mistake or the event that had happened. And at last – don’t stick to the problem: never return to it in your talks and in your mind. Tell yourself: ‘Yes, that happened but it’s over now’.
