Vienna Ice Cafe will be opening in our new space at 4784 N. High Street in the spring of 2013. . In the meantime, Mozart’s will be offering all of our treats and ice creams as well as accepting coupons and offers.

Last Saturday (September 29) we were happy to host the Columbus Yelp Elite Party for September, and we had a blast! A great crowd of young and old alike gathered for the first kid-friendly Yelp Elite event here in Columbus. We listened to live classical music, played the LEGO Challenge for Million LEGO for Kids and enjoyed some great pairings. We featured Mozart’s Apple Strudel paired with Apple Pie Gelato, Mozart’s Marzipan Peach with Peach Cobbler Ice Cream and Mozart’s Key Lime Pie with Key Lime Pie Gelato.

We’re working on a new flavor of the month, Peach Cobbler Ice Cream. Peach cobbler is a perfect mix of pastry and summery goodness with chunks of peaches from right here in Ohio blended with delicious clusters of cobbler. Stop by anytime this month to try our newest flavor.

Along with our new Brothers Drake Gelati Flavors, this adds to all the more reason you should stop be Vienna to try some of the new wonderful flavors we’ve been whipping up.

Our Wine and Ice pairing event with Camelot Cellars was recently featured on Columbus Crave’s blog. Our next event is coming up soon, August 14, so don’t forget to snag your tickets soon before they sell out.

“…To put together the pairings, the staff at Vienna Ice Cafe picked out a few of their favorite flavors, keeping in mind which ones lended themselves to going well with wine, and then the staff at Camelot Cellars selected the right wines as accompaniments. The three pairings–a strawberry white merlot with strawberry champagne ice cream, riesling ice wine with lavender and honey ice cream and peach ice wine with key lime pie ice cream–were all quite sweet (fair warning to those of you who are sugar-rush resistant.) But for dessert-hounds (me!), it was fun to see how the flavors developed after a little wine.

My friend and I both adored the lavender and honey, with its balance of sweet and floral amplified with a sip of riesling. And we were equally enamored with Camelot’s comfortable bar area, where we could linger and enjoy both our desserts and one another’s company…”

Vienna Ice Cafe is Working with Brothers Drake Meadery

We’re so so excited to be creating gelati and ice creams in conjunction with Brothers Drake Meadery. Brothers Drake creates delicious meads, or honey wine, from the freshest local ingredients that they can find. To them, local isn’t a buzz word, it’s their guiding principle.

We’ve created our first two mead gelati, Brothers Drake Bergamot Blue Gelato and Brothers Drake Paw Paw Gelato, and we hope you have a chance to swing by and try them. Each is a creamy combination of dessert-y goodness and mead, and you really can’t go wrong with that combination.

Vienna’s First Birthday Party

Wine and Ice at Camelot Cellars, Round 2

Our first wine and ice cream pairing at Camelot Cellars went remarkably well, and we’re looking forward to round 2 in just a few weeks. On August 14 join us for Wine and Ice 2 with some really fantastic pairings. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at http://wineandice2.eventbrite.com.

National Ice Cream Day at Vienna Ice Cafe

Chase Mission: Small Business

We’ve applied to be one of the businesses up for the $250K small business grant from Chase. We’re hoping to build a new location in Clintonville that can be the home of both Mozart’s and Vienna Ice Cafe. Our new building would feature a patio as well as the opportunity for more jobs here in Clintonville. Once we hit 250 votes, we’re eligible to be chosen for the grant. We know a lot of small businesses throughout the country are vying for this, so we’re appreciative of all of the support Mozart’s and Vienna have received in this new endeavor so far.
