As a person that enjoyed professional wrestling WWF, WCW/nWo and ECW during the 90's and early 00's (as well as still keeping an ear and eye on the scene) I became aware of "the real thing". As a teen and younger adult however real life combat violence wasn't entertaining to me.

In 2008 I played the demo of the UFC game on XBOX 360 and loved it. It was like the Wrestling games I loved mixed with the Street Fighter/Mortal Kombat/KI/Tekken/etc that I loved to play. I went out and bought a console and that game because of how much I enjoyed playing it...and I got good at it if I do say so myself...I haven't changed much as this year I bought a modern X series console along with the current offering #5.

As for "the real real thing" I grew to love of hate the fighters that were in the game. I caught McGregor fever earlier on, I loved the Diaz hype and I knew the focused guy whoms name I can't spell without looking up would defeat him.

Austin Bashi is the man I am watching now.

Back when this page started smart phones were really in their infancy and web browsing was more done on computers. This is an old school computer page I have to remember is more than likely to be viewed on a handheld device with mobile OS.

I may investigate this further but I have never been reported any issues.

Video Library NES Rentals and Knowing People - Game Hustles of the Past

Back in the early 90's the local video library chain i.e Video Ezy rented out NES titles for $5AUD for 3 Days. New-Releases or SNES titles may have attracted a higher premium but I don't recall because back then it was all about the NES!

The titles I clearly remember are Top Gun (our first rental and we couldn't get the landing..), Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles + TMNT II The Arcade Game (<3), Batman, Double Dragon II, Super Mario Bros 2 + 3, The Legend of Zelda, Operation Wolf, Captain Skyhawk, Golf, Hyper Soccer (an regional exclusive title), The Flintstones (Rescue of Dino + Hoppy ;) ) and North & South to name a few. I feel I'll discuss some of these gems again in more detail later on.

One particular time a neighbour of ours asked that we return a game for them because they were unable to and it still had a days credit on it allowing us to enjoy it before it was expected to be back.. This game was Air Fortress and we bought it as an ex-rental years later. It is a great NES title and to think it is unlikely that we would have ever had played this game (at least on original hardware) if not for these circumstances. This same individual sold his copy of Kung Fu to us - One of my all time favourite games, period.

Speaking of other people with the same Nintendo NES console back when it was becoming an aged system...what a great pool of people to have established game libraries including titles that they would have stopped playing awhile ago. These types of generous individuals loaned us games on a number of occasions and trust me for someone otherwise limited to a handful for repetitive games, I was VERY GRATEFUL!

Where to start? These games were from all kinds of people and the variety was very much welcomed. I can recall Double Dribble, Double Dragon 3, Ninja Gaiden, Total Recall, 'Probotector' , Faxanadu and some suspicious 'piggyback' multicarts.

Well, G'Day, G'Day - it has been some time between regular posts to this blog due to, let's say..a glitch which is of no one parties fault in particular, and I would like to add that if the time for moving forward together has been reached I am welcoming of this revelation and am keen to get back into things here.

P.S I host ads. Or at least I used to, or tried to...it was never any secret and the revenue that is generated by sharing my original content was used for good purposes such as supporting finance for solar, preserving books/historic items, and whims for projects for things such as this very site. And I was very grateful for every cent of it.

If you've landed here or any other random page of mine, for whatever reason (I used to really get some views just based on current topical items) thanks for spending your time here and I hope it was worth the visit/support.

As for the future, where ad dollarydoos are forthcoming - I expect to perhaps modify the format of the place. Though not too radically, just radically enough..and maybe. Much has happened since establishing view*know*do in March 2011

Hi all, Unless you weren't already aware I haven't updated anywhere near as regularly as I once did. However there is one thing that I notice. From time to time there is a spike in popularity - Recently I noticed a spike so high I don't think I've seen as much traffic before, ever.

What caused such a spike? A blog entry from the past about names on Coca-Cola (Coke) bottles.

Yes it seems something I bothered writing about in years past was relevant only to North America recently - People searched it like they once did here in Australia I guess no one else much had written on the subject :P

I'm glad what I wrote was as entertaining/Informative as ever! And appreciate that my page counter ticks overly respectably month after month.

With that, I'll leave for now but I will also take this opportunity to tell visitors that there is some good content within my pages, check out the historical entries - Maybe you'll find one you like :)

Occasionally web pages under my umbrella-ella-ella-ah-ah-ah (Rihanna) get some interesting comments. Here are some of the more recent ones that I found amusing that came in from a bunch of crazed Guy Sebastian* fans (or just one obsessed 'Guy' die-hard?). Either way, Enjoy. Please :)

That is 20 seconds of my life I will never get back. You are a piece of garbage my friend. I take pleasure in the fact that the more success Guy has, the more it will rankle you. As to where he was #1. Try #1 on the ARIA Charts for six weeks this year with his sixth #1 single. If you don't know what the ARIA Charts are (wouldn't be surprised if a dumb twit like you didn't) they are Australia's music charts which report on what music people are buying each week. Guy's recent SMASH HIT Battle Scars has just achieved 6x platinum sales to become the second highest selling single ever released by an Australian act, only surpassed by Gotye's one hit wonder Somebody That I Used To Know. Guy also has three other songs in the top ten highest selling Australian artist songs ever as well. So he is not going away anytime soon. Hang in there arsehole, it is going to be painful for you.

Energy Drinks - The "new" gateway drug?

Energy drinks...generally carbonated soft drinks laced with all sorts of plant extracts generally offering 'stimulating' of 'focus' effects (or 'highs') . Formulated science waters can offer all sorts of modern day concoctions - with vitamins and minerals as well as recommended dietary 'supplements' mixed into water and a slash of 'natural' colour and flavour too, perhaps.

'Energy' drinks are nothing new. Can you imagine a cave-person slugging back on icy cold bottle of refreshingly tasty cola...a concoction packed up the ying-yang with sugar and caffeine?

It'd be like a modern day hill billy high on some pure Mexican shard ('crystal meth')-CHAOS!!

And yet it's beyond that now with 2000> energy drinks offering all sorts of 'exotic' berries and plant extracts. It's like a South American Stimulant crossed with Asian focus powders. Who needs that much concentration?!?

What's a bit more concerning is the classification of caffeine as a 'food' rather than a 'drug'. Has pure caffeine have any nutritional value over say ye-yo (cocaine)? In that case why isn't cocaine considered a culinary offering from Mexico and Mexico's neighbours? A culinary offering that North American's happen to LOVE!!

So with seemingly no rules or regulations surrounding 'energized'+sugar-laden beverages and their sale...other than the ridiculous prices attached to them.

And as the juiced up techno-teens that grew up downing the popular branded energy drinks now reach drinking age, they are simply 'ruski-ing up/Irishing up/Scotching up' (adding alcohol to) their favourite energy drink.

Nothing like a stimulant/depressant drug cocktail to chase the blues away!

Oh and the other caffeine 'junkies' are the stereotypical 'workers' - Coffee addicts. Pods, bags, espresso, double-shot, etc all chasing their next hit of caffeine...living life from on drum of ground beans to the next.

Designer Drugs of 2012 and Beyond

Personally think it's hilarious that there were two allotments of time given on National Television in the past <24 hours on the subject of 2012 designer drugs developed specifically to bypass ill-advised legislation (referred to as 'poisons' in some regions no less) and create their developers and manufacturers (and everyone in between) a SHIT LOAD of Cha-ching $$$ !!!

A law enforcement officer admitted, on recorded video that he 'was not a chemist' but essentially knew how the crafty devils get around the laws (current). A wise monkey that one.

And doctors are 'worried' about the consequences of ever-emerging NEW "designer" substances? I wonder if the potential for something really untested to reach the LEGAL market concerns them more than the substances that creates the demand for them in the first place - i.e. Does cannabis use 'worry' them as much as a newly released 'legal high' created to mimic marijuana?

I really feel for the victims of 'designer' drug use, and drug use and misuse in general. However I do not feel that the blame should be placed on the substance itself, but rather those that push people towards the consumption of these risky substances because they want to prohibit 'drug' use.

The TV Shows were both on the 7 network of Australia.

They (nicotine containing tobacco products) contain known carcinogens (cancer causing/aggravating matter) and you know...the sale is regulated from the sale in plan packaging (see HERE - April 10, 2011) to the specified places where it is deemed you can spark up a cancer stick cancer stick being slang for a tobacco cigarette, perhaps an Australian thing?

Oh and the Government earns revenue from the sale of these nasty death delivery systems (cigarettes) in the form of taxes)

Want to know something stupid about Steroid users, public medical supervised injecting clinics with rehab services, habitual/addicted intravenous/intramuscular needle users (or 'junkies')?

There's only 1 of these responsible injecting clinics available in Australia, and only a small segment of the targeted users are fully law abiding by making use of the facility (for possessing/transporting controlled substances like morphine, oxycontin painkiller pills, street heroin, methadone, that stuff they rob ambo's for, amphetamines, and cocaine...which are all injectable...oh and they want to patrol the surrounding area housing the clinic with *common* illicit drug detecting canines (DOGS!).

According to the experts (Zoo Weekly) a 'men's mag' with a broad range of readers which one would have to assume is targeted at the younger adult male population - In issue 343, Sept 24, 2012 "4 out of 5 (80%) of the time Australia police sniffer dog wrongly identify drug carriers" - Reckon they could detect steroids and the "pre and post workout" pills gym junkies pop? Or pharmaceutical painkilling drugs or stimulants? Or just the street drugs?

So poor criminal junkies get a record and can't get work, they need medical attention and instead get a cell and an addiction that turns them to a life of crime, lining the pockets of violent and manipulative criminal syndicates.

Makes a lot of sense don't it?

Seeing as we are all friends let's discuss this one...he's #1 on some rubbish TV chart -I thought he pissed off the religious fan-base by saying he loves his wife and family more than Jesus...so with those lost why is there still a market for this product of a, what? 2003? Reality TV fad?

If he were a race horse he'd already be the adhesive holding up portraits of Black Caviar.

The fact that energy and resources are invested into burning his 'art' onto polymer compact discs and using wood pulp for booklets/promotional works for his brand of expired fad-core 'music', let alone transportation (physical and digital) of the audio and visual pollution bound for any poor saps A/V system to reproduce the atrocity which is, Guy 'Lord Douchebag' Sebastian, makes me want to write something about it...which I have and now offer to you at no cost to share and muse over.

Hi all,

Long time no entry...unfortunately not much motivates me to create new content for this page these days - Hopefully this will change, I have fond memories of publishing to this blog.

This page however still does receive some steady traffic daily and my page counter continues to click over. To my visitors new and old I thank you and I hope/trust you find my historical content and new content to come to be worthy of your time and visit.

I write today to provide this short update and thanks AND to inform you all that I have decided to close down my other blogs (my so-called "sister blogs") but to continue their legacy by posting their content here.

Although these other projects never came to full fruition nor paralleled the successes of this page, I still believe them to be worthy of transfer.

Blogger tries hand at Wordpress

Yes it's true - Yours truly tried his hand at Wordpress earlier this year. In a way a retaliation for Google disapproving our advertising partnership :(

I'll try to find the address for my one entry and share it by the time I get to the end of this entry.

BTW these days I'm using 1.5 GB of my 10.1 GB email account ;)

Wordpress didn't make me switch blog host providers. It seemed nice and functional, but really, compared to what I have going here with Blogger, I really have no real reason to make the change. It was nice to try something so-called "new" and "different"; although I found the make up of the site to possesses neither of these traits.

So really what my Wordpress experience offered me was reassurance in something...by the time it's all said and done, it all comes back to the quality and relevance of the original content that the service hosts. Content that is sought after, consumed and enjoyed whether in a positive or negative way.

As I rediscover my Wordpress page a smile comes across my face. Because as I said, it's about the unique Original Content

The World went got itself in a big hurry

Hi all,

To loyal followers, it's been awhile - I struggle for ideas worth sharing. Although by the stats it seems my "legacy" posts are still relevant and worth reading...with pleasing visitor figures. To you all I thank you.

Lately I've been thinking about the resources available to us in 2013. Yes, it's a technology entry :)

A person in my exact position, but say 50 years prior to this day, may have had the privilege of access to a typewriter for documentation and correspondence. A landline telephone and dealing with a population a fraction of what exists today, with a narrower scope of cultural diversity to acknowledge and respect.

These days it's a laptop PC and/or tablet PC so you may be on someone's beckon-call seemingly 24/7...in case you smart phone's battery has drained from constant bombardment of messages, requests, reminders and even phone calls. At a desktop you may have 2 display monitors, or more.

Television comes in SD/HD and sometimes 3D, perhaps via satellite or cable and channels went from perhaps a total of five 20 years ago to over 15 today on free to air TV (Australia).

...And there's a whole lot more websites these days....

Makes me wonder with all this efficiency how many jobs do need to exist versus the people that 'need' to work, because of an economic model.

Screw Android - DELL

Technology giant DELL have revealed that they will be withdrawing from the smartphone market and Android at least for the short term future, with website 'techbuffalo' reporting the news.

Instead DELL look to gear themselves up with their range of MICROSOFT O/S tablets. Is that a big middle finger to Google from DELL?!? Sounds very much like it to this observer :)

Additionally, "Google says that it is not developing apps for Windows Mobile or Windows 8". It's not even the end of 2012 and Google decide to give modern Windows products the cold shoulder with DELL doing likewise to the Android OS. This should make for interesting times. Again, in this observers opinion, this sounds like a severe case of Google being a whiny little runt of an organisation. So much self involved and proud are they that they won't develop for what could be a key market for everyone.

And to think, if Windows had combed out their undesirable app developers andf Google were on it, a stink would surely have been created over it.

With a strongly fought battle between Apple and Samsung over the mobile O/S device market already and with these announcements all us tech-enthusiasts can do is sit back and watch the fireworks and place bets on who will get buried first.

Adsense Penny-Pinching

Greetings all.

Just a quick entry to my loyal followers and visitors. Something has changed to this site...ads are no longer hosted. Why? Reason's unexplained. What I can tell you is that I have used Google Search for approximately 10 years, Gmail for approximately 6 years, etc, etc.

I am now reconsidering my use of any and all Google services and products.

The problem is that my content has generated a little money on the side, which I have disclosed openly, and was investing for renewable power (solar energy). The money earned but not paid out (In Australia you have to rack up $150 before Google release it, no doubt earning interest off the work of Australian content hosts) has simply disappeared - A root cause of my just anger and disappointment.

The money is not a big deal, but instead the accusations that I have done something wrong and the fact that the money I earned honestly will line someone else's pockets when I was going to use it to benefit the environment as well as educate others by sharing the experience. Google has dented that dream from coming to fruition, delaying it by a time period unknown - As this will become an ongoing financial pick-pocketing by Google

My right of appeal was rejected (valid points ignored?) and my YouTube 'channel' advertising ties have also been cut as well as any opportunity for my account/s to earn revenue through their systems.

Watch this space as it, along with all other content hosted on Google may be removed and hosted at a more loyal and trusting service provider.

Same great service, none of the Google horse-crap.

End of an Era - HOPE Folding Team

Approximately at the end of 2007 or during 2008 the 'HOPE Priority Limited' Folding @ Home Team with the intentions of demonstrating my own contributions to the distributed computing project as well as the individuals I influenced to become involved in the cause.

From the beginning of 2013 I will cease to credit my work units to this particular team. I will not be decreasing my work efforts, I will simply be having my workloads credited to a different team altogether, perhaps a new team of my own creation.

With about 2 weeks left of folding to go in 2012 I am aiming to churn through as many work units as possible :)

The current total work unit credit count accredited to the team CURRENTLY stands at over 3,400!

The legacy will live on forever :)
