Trimurthy Day Celebrations - 2017

It was an awesome musical day today at Bridgewater temple, New Jersey. Students from all music schools in and around New Jersey participated and paid their tribute to the legendary Mumoorthigal, the trinity of Carnatic Music, Sri Tyagaraja, Shyama Sastrigal and Muthuswamy Dikshitar.

This year, my students were all set to perform in Dikshitar section and had practiced two krithis.
There were concerts from local artists and the whole day turned out to be a good one and so peaceful.

They performed 2 Muthuswamy Dishitar krithis, Gajananayutham and Maha Ganapathim accompanied by Master.Rahul Swaminathan in Mridangam.

Vijayadhwani Students at Tyagaraja Day Celebrations , NJ

Unforgettable Tyagaraja Day Celebrations - January 31st, 2015. . It was around 11/2 hours drive to Ridgewood, NJ. The route was new and so baddd that we got delayed 20 minutes. We reached the venue with lot of tension, then came the sweet news that the program was running with a 2 hour delay :):( We were allotted the 4.30 P.M. slot, but waited for 2 hours and finally my students got to sing around 6.30 P.M. But the wait was not that boring as we were immersed in the concert of Sri. Rohit Chandrasekar. But still some parents who came well ahead of time were so upset with the delay. My Students had given 3 performances. All were pretty good and we enjoyed the drive back !

My little one just turned 5 a week back but he was the hero of the slot I would say. He did a great job singing Gatha Moha Krithi with his sister. I was surprised to see that he had no stage fear, he thoroughly enjoyed performing in front of the crowd. Worth the wait !!!

Hanuman Chalisa Song by my students

This summer, I had planned a 8 week session to teach Hanuman Chalisa , a great Lord Hanuman devotional song . Around 25 students had registered and learnt the song with great enthusiasm and interest.

On June 5th, 2014, Vijayadhwani Students were blessed with a great opportunity to perform at Sai Mandhir, North Brunswick on their 4th anniversary Celebration.
All the kids were awesome and am really proud to be training such young talents and spreading the carnatic music in the U.S.
The kritis performed were MahaGanapathim by Muthuswamy Dikshitar, Mayil Vahana by Papanasam Sivam, Bantureethi Kolu by St.Tyagaraja , Varnams and many more bhajans like Lingashtakam, Ganesha Pancharatnam, etc..

'Mayil meedhu vilayadum' sung and made famous by Smt.Nithyasree Mahadevan has become a top of my favourite list, so close to my heart.

The Dheivadam in the raaga 'V(a)asanthi' which is a janya of 27th mela 'Sarasangi' raaga brings out such a soul feeling sometimes a sad mood too.

Carnatic Music lessons starts with Swaravali Varisai where the students get introduced to the seven swaras. Sa,(Shadjam), Ri (Rishabam), Ga (Gandharam), Ma (Madhyamam), Pa(Panchamam), Dha(Dheivatham) and Nishadam(Ni).
I was able to record and post the swaravali varisai lessons for my students and all others who have started to take their music lessons.

It was a great evening today(March 15th, 2014) at Sai Mandhir, North Brunswick, NJ.
My students had a wonderful opportunity to perform in the temple in the sannidhi of Seeradi Saibaba.

The students sang around 20 bhajans accompanied by Archit Krishna in Tabla ,
It was a bliss to hear the kids sing and the two hours of evening was splendid filled with good music.
