Viking Releases New Enhancements to Operator Line Up Irvine, CA March 18th, 2010 - Viking is consistently updating and enhancing it's line of gate operators to meet the needs of their customers. Their latest revisions will be incorporated on all machines in the second quarter of 2010.

The All New Viking Q-5 Commercial Slide Gate Operator - The Viking Slide Gate Operator line will now include the brand new Q-5 Heavy-Duty Commercial Slide Gate Operator. This operator is capable of handling gates up to 5000 pounds and has the option of using rack and pinion operation for strong, secure gate movement. It's larger footprint and roomier chassis will allow more space for accessories and adjustments. It uses a mechanical manual release system allowing for a true gate disconnect. The new modular power supply is designed for plug and play functionality.Convenient switches are built in for high voltage, low voltage and battery power disconnect. The heavy-duty gearbox has a receptacle built in for use with the optional heater kit. This machine is ideal for high security gate applications.

Enhancements on the Viking Slide Gate Operators - Viking's L-3 and H-10 Slide Gate Operators have also been implemented with new design and functional enhancements. They are now built on a larger chassis, offering more space for accessories and a larger operational footprint. The new chassis also have built in post mount receptacles, making post mount installations easier and without the need for a post mount kit. These slide gate operators will incorporate the the new mechanical manual release system for true gate disconnect. The modular power supply will make installation or replacement simple. Include as well are the new convenient disconnect switches for high voltage, low voltage and battery power. These machines will continue to operate at 100% duty cycle and are UL Listed.

Enhancements to the Viking F-1 Swing Gate Operator - The Viking F-1 Operator has been redesigned to use the larger, more robust chassis of the Viking T-21 Swing Gate Operator. This allows more room for installation of accessories and operator setup and testing. It will also include the new, convenient disconnect switches for high voltage, low voltage and battery power.

Preliminary Features List for Viking Phone

Irvine, CA December 10th, 2009 - Viking Access Systems has released preliminary specifications for the anticipated release of it’s Viking Phone System. The following information comprises a feature list as of today and is subject to change.

The Viking Phone is a wireless unit, communicating with tenants using VoIP ( voice over IP ) via WiFi,Cell phone or Network Card. The user interface on this system takes advantage of state of the art technology including; touch screen, voice command recognition ( hands free operation ), noise cancelling microphone, finger print recognition ( tight security - live finger detection ), face recognition, improve tight security ( including front and tilt angle recognition and face recognition with glasses on ). It also uses a visual graphical interface, voice guidance system, high definition amplifier, true motion detector (video camera based and PIR ), smart skin detector, auto focus, and auto zoom.

Some of the Viking Phone’s features include, a voice dial command by name or tenant code, an entry code by use of touch screen, finger print or face recognition, and the ability to dial tenant using VoIP. The user is able to establish a video phone conversation with tenant using web phone, computer or smart device such as PDA's and Smart phones. They can leave a video message in case no connection can be established and the tenant can receive video message in email format.

This phone system has easy to use, self guided data base control for; an unlimited number of tenants, each with 7 day timer allowance, an unlimited number of managers, each with various level of accessibility, and an unlimited number of utility companies, each with 7 day timer allowance.

The phone systems uses 7 timer per day 7 days a week with the ability to save unlimited number of timers settings for each.

The Viking phone will offer; remote access for data base maintenance, programmable back-up in multiple media devices, programmable password for access including any combination of password, finger print and face recognition and a user friendly query system to retrieve history of transactions.

Corrosion Resistance

Corrosion is a chemical reaction between a metal and its surroundings during which the metal is oxidized, creating gradual disintegration of the material.

UL325, the standard for safety for gate operators, stipulates in section 11 the necessary Protection Against Corrosion in a gate operator or systems as follows;

"UL325 11.1 Iron and steel parts shall be protected against corrosion by enameling, galvanizing, plating, or other equivalent means, if corrosion of such parts could result in a risk of fire, electric shock, or injury to persons."

The steel chassis of the Viking Access Systems Gate operators comply and surpass the requirements set by UL325. Viking Chassis have a zinc coating uniformly applied to an average of 0.00061 in or more on each surface. Besides the zinc plating provided Viking Chassis have an extra coat of organic finish in the form of powder coating.

Viking Access Systems has invested in extra protection not just for the reliability of the equipment and durability of the same but to present to the market an aesthetic gate operator setting up new marks in the industry.

Viking has tested the corrosion against entrapment in special laboratories where the units are submitted to salt-spray vapor. After the test we can accentuate that not only we comply with UL325 but also ASTM B 117-07a reaching military standards for salt spray test.

Irvine, CA June 16th, 2009 - We are very excited to announce the release of our B-12™ Barrier Gate Operator. This operator is available and shipping right now.

We started this barrier gate project 3 years ago and have been researching, developing and modifying our designs to best integrate the needs of the installers. Our final goal was to create an operator with simple design and advanced technology and power under the cover. The result has surpasses even our expectations!

We have created a single unit that can handle any arm type, arm length and speed. The versatility of this unit is so vast that can handle heavy arms up to 18’ without compromising the operational speed or efficiency, making it the perfect candidate for solar operation. It features strut assistant arm operation. This strut helps absorb stress and assists the arm in very smooth motion, thereby increasing the longevity of the mechanical parts. This is the reason we have such a strong warranty behind it.

Here's a great example of why we are so excited about this machine; we set up a solar system to run the B-12™ with the 16-1/2’ aluminum arm at our testing facility. When we started the test, the weather was overcast ( not too promising for solar operation right? ). Well, the overcast lasted for the next 2 weeks, and amazingly this unit ran 600 cycles a day with no problems! We even added solar powered lighting accessories to the load and still ran perfectly.

We like the fact that this unit is very spacious, making it easy to install, service and add accessories. Plus, it has many options ; Viking Blue, Loop Racks, Switch control of the battery, AC and Motor Power, A Lockable Cabinet, and a Safety Kill Switch just to name a few.

New Viking Blue

Irvine, CA April 15th, 2009 - Viking Access Systems has released the Viking Blue plug and play wireless communication system. Gate operator master-slave installation, operation and diagnostics are all simplified by using this wireless device and accompanying software.

Wireless diagnostics not only allow remote operation of timer adjustment, obstruction sensor and fine tune settings but also run pre-programed self diagnostics and technical data transmission to the Viking Support Line, allowing rapid troubleshooting and resolution. Voice recognition allows the use of voice commands for all functions. Speech technology allows the gate operator to communicate verbally, answering questions related to the state of the gate operator. The Viking Blue Software works on any PDA or SMARTPHONE and uses a graphical interface to visually find voltages, amperages and other various setting and functions of the gate operator. The Viking Blue module establishes a reliable wireless communication between master and slave operators up to 100 feet in range.
