In our passage Israel is feeling rejected by God, like all the promises have failed. In the same way as Israel, the servant is feeling similarly rejected, like he is inadequet for his task and despised by people. But where Israel doubts and is faithless, , the servant trusts and is faithful. As we explore this brilliant passage we will see that the servant is God's secret weapon for redeeming Israel. Where, Israel fails, the servant is successful in its place, making Israel acceptable to God. But God declares that it is too small a thing for the servant to just redeem Israel, instead he is to be a light to the nations. This is exactly what we see in the person of Jesus, the one who succeeded where we failed making a way for us to be acceptable To God. So the call this morning is in the face of our personal rejection to look up and around and see what God is doing in the world. Take comfort in our personal rejection knowing that in Jesus was have ultimate acceptance and embrace as we are brought in to be members of God's eternal family.</itunes:subtitle><itunes:keywords>Village,Church,Annandale,Sydney,Anglican,Jesus,Bible,Evangelical,Dominic,Steele,Jon,Kwan</itunes:keywords></item>
