It's Time For An Update

Ok la, I admit that it has been 6 months that I actually wrote something on my blog. Not that I have given up on it, I just couldn’t find time for it! Maybe it is just an excuse :p

Needless to say, the past 6 months has been entirely interesting for me. I’ve received strong criticism from my superior on my work attitude, as I was at my lowest point during that particular period. However, I turned the criticism into a source of confidence for myself to pick up myself again and go in stronger than ever. And thankfully, I prevailed till today :)

With just a blink of an eye, I’ve been working in Macro Kiosk Berhad for 1 year 2 months. I’ve enjoyed myself tremendously with all the events organized by the company, memorable outings with my colleagues and also with my gf :) Oh, I’ve even gotten myself a new smart phone, the legendary HTC Legend. Kinda upset with the OS update to Android 2.2 (Froyo). Need to wait for another several weeks! Damn… And don’t think my machine could support Android 2.3 (Gingerbread).

Also, I attended a number of weddings. Time has changed, used to attend friend’s birthday parties and now, I’m attending their weddings. Whether I’ve grown older or the people around me just move faster than I am hahaha :) Nonetheless, I wished those newlyweds a happy life.

Not That Smart After All

Most of the times, I do not know how to handle you guys. You agreed on a particular statement that anything beyond that date will be charged to your account. But now you tell me that you will not sign the form? You even claimed that I did the wrong thing for you.

Let's set the record straight. First of all, the first change was based on Mr. X's review. After that, we reached an agreement that that portion will be the last round of change. 3 weeks later, you get back to me telling me there are more changes. And these reviews are done by a different person. Therefore, those are 2 different opinions and it has got nothing to do with me.

That also meant I did not do wrong. It was your own people that did the review wrongly. Very smart to push it back to me.

You are really a kiasu fella. 'Nuff said.

He has decided on his future and had enough of the current environment. Perhaps he is doing something for himself after achieving so much for the past 30-odd years working in the same industry that he used to fell in love with.

He has so many supportive peers that looked up to him when things went wrong. He was a respective figure, and still is. Knowing how strong he is in his earlier days, he managed to pull everything together, receiving priceless awards that made his team and company one of the great force in the industry.

Anyways, it did came as a shocking news to me when he finally spoke it out. We had it coming but I, in particular, wasn't aware of the ongoing. It's rather disappointing to hear it from the horse's mouth but that the best and the clearest that can be.

He will now focus more on his newly-set-up business, together with his golfing-kaki's. They may be new but everything has to start from the beginning, right? :) I am sure they have the kick to pull something off, with their vast experience and an eye for prospect.

On another note, he's worried about disappointing his old ones but I told him not to fret. He still has us. We are his backbone to keep him up when he's down, to shine on him when others don't and to have faith in him when he fails.

Support is something that I will always give him.

Come what may, he will forever be my ol' man :)

A Short Trip

It was the time (end of the year) when I decided to cash in a complimentary 1-night stay in First World Genting Highlands (thanks Uncle Lim!). So far, this is the 3rd time I've been offered such complimentary but only my first time taking it :)

Anyways, my main reason is to check out on my tortoises, that I've released about 1.5 months ago. Obviously they won't come running to me like other pets do. Back then, they will scratch the container (that I put them in) whenever I'm nearby.

So, I have a mission on that day - To recognize my pair!! :D

To sum up my luck in casino, we were down quite badly. Thought of stopping just there but the urge to try another game was too strong, LOL. Don't get me wrong, we're NOT hardcore gamblers.

In the end, we managed to gain back the losses. Well, practically... :) It's just for the fun of it and I'm not planning to go in there again any time sooner.

9 Emperor Gods Festival

This is like a freaking long-delayed post! =.=

Anyways, 25/10/2009 was the main prayers during the 9 Emperor Gods Festival. We woke up pretty early to get to the market to buy some stuff before heading to the temple, located in Ampang.

Adidas SALA [X vs X]

I've been wearing Adidas Predator for at least 2 years now. However, recently there aren't much choice for the Predator range.

So, while I was loitering around Summit Subang (was attending some event there), I came across the Adidas Factory Outlet boutique. Without any hesitation, I went into scout for a new pair of futsal shoes. I can say that ALL the shoes are at least 50% off the retail price, cos it's factory outlet maaa, hahaha.

Well, wanted to get a new pair of Predator but the size was too big. Then, I saw the Adidas SALA range. I always thought of getting a pair to get the feel of the shoes as many claimed that it's a good pair for futsal cos it's light and comfortable.
And I didn't put myself in a difficult situation and immediately get a pair. It only cost me RM110, compared to the retail, it's selling at RM220. What a catch XD
Bottom line, I've found a new love but I'm still looking forward to the new range of Predator for the World Cup 2010! ^^

Somebody Call 911

It was the night of any other nights when this happened...
This fiery incident happened at around 7:45pm at OUG, while we were passing by NPE. It felt eerie when I saw the heat produced by the flame.

The workers tried to put off the fire with pails of water. Don't think that's gonna help. And 2 fire engines were parked by the road side but not doing anything. Perhaps no sense of urgency??

Oh well, I just hope it didn't claim anyone's life.

The Day I Let Them Go

On the day of Mid Autumn, dad, mum and I went up to Genting Highlands to release the pair of tortoises that have been with us for the past 9 years. I remember I bought them for a mere RM1.50 each and have changed 5 containers just to accommodate their fast-growing size.

Before leaving home...

We left home pretty early, around 8am. It was pouring heavily once we reached there. If it was gloomy, the weather it just perfectly nice :) We had a quick breakfast before proceeding to Chin Swee Temple.

Futsal On The Roof Of The Building

This is the first time I play futsal on the roof of a building! It reminds me of the scene in Tokyo Drift, whereby a bunch of Japanese dudes playing futsal. Awesome~

I have to say the air is fresh and it's definitely so much cooler than playing in a warehouse-factory-like arena.

A new experience and I'm looking forward to more games in the future.

Elaine's Birthday Lunch Treat (Postponed)

We went to Zang Toi @ Pavilion to treat Elaine (head of PMO) a birthday lunch. Her birthday falls on 20/09/2009 or 20092009. Nice date eh :)

Fish Head Noodles @ Win Soon Cafe, Kuchai Lama

On Saturday, I brought Mei Ling to try out the second-best fish head noodles in town (just a "claim" by me :). Well, I did not know much about this place until my colleagues spoke about how nice this dish is and they've tried it many times before (of course). They went on Wednesday but I didn't follow, as I was feeling a lil' bit under the weather.

So, out of curiosity, I went for a food-hunting session with Mei Ling :)

Got lost a few times, ended up calling Elaine for directions. Well, it's not that difficult to locate the restaurant, it's just the amount of buildings blocking the view, haaa~
They are specialized in nothing but fish head noodles. However, there are other varieties as well, such as fish paste and fresh prawns, if you like to add on to your order.

... And I ordered mine with fresh prawn added :)
What I like about the fresh prawn is that it added a flavorful prawn taste to the soup, combining together with the fish flavor. It's just so scrumptious! :D
However, the MSG added to the soup is a bit too much to my liking. I tend to drink more and my mouth feels dry after that.

Here's the total:
Fish Head Mee Hoon : RM7.50
Fresh Prawn and Fish Head Mee Hoon : RM13.80
Iced Lemon Tea : RM3.50
Iced Honey Sea Coconut : RM2.50

Grand Total : RM27.30

I guess it's a reasonable price for a well-known restaurant. But I just think that it's unnecessary to charged an extra RM6 for a piece of fresh prawn, which is cut into half.

My rating : 7.5/10

A Night Of Incidents

While Kanye West is being an ass towards Taylor Swift in the recent VMA 2009, I have met some stuck up people too last night. These people have they similarity - when they lose temper/ you outsmart them, they'll hurt you in any way.

Obviously, I think Kanye was protecting his culture but he could have done it at the back of the stage, instead of national tv. Well, anyway... He sucks.

She thought he'll congratulate her...

... But it was otherwise. Taylor looked dumbfounded...

... Yup, like an ass that he has always been.

Taylor is a young and huge talent at her age. I've always admired her. It's great that she didn't break down in the middle of the stage. That would probably spoil her make up :) And kudos to Beyonce Knowles for standing up for Taylor, awesome sight ;)

Anyways, for my side of the story, we've been playing futsal with the SAME bunch of people, with the SAME attitude and SAME attitude for the past 2 years. 2 years on and they still never change. Why? Ego, my friends. Emotions run high, tempers flare.

When people get too emotional during a game, they eventually forgotten about sportsmanship. This is an eye-sore. They always try to prove to everyone how good they are and all, okay, but do it like a professional.

Trust me, every night, they just gotta play rough. 2 person in particular. Honestly, what do you get from that???

Oh yea. One shit thing about it is that they'll drunk themselves before coming for the game. WTF right?? This is when they get extremely rough and bringing all their unsporting behavior to the court. I thought of suggesting to give them a ban but I don't have the final say.

So, last night was the final straw. V lost his temper and screwed M after the game cos M was blaming V for not being able to control his team. V stated that M should be telling to us, NOT him, which I 100% agreed with him. What an ass! Ass#2 goes to M. Sorry, you gotta take your turn to be #1.

However, in the court was a different story. M loves to give everyone a kick and elbow which I've been on the receiving end far too many times. I told him nicely to not to raise his elbow too much or to stick his leg in for any kinda reasons. As ass as he can be, he ignored.

Then comes the biggest ass for all time. I could only named him as B. He, in particular, has high level of testosterone. No kidding. He goes in with a tackle, runs his mouth and shows people who's boss. Now, this is Ass#1.

I'm really sick having to play with these 2. Each and every time we play, we gotta tell ourselves not to play rough on them but they are just as bull as they can be.

B ran into me once early in the game. I was okay with it cos it was unintentional. He then apologizes and the game carried on. The second time he ran into me was deliberate! And with that impact, I uttered a loud noise. He came up to me on the spot and asked:
B: What happened huh?? (I knew he was gonna be unhappy about something)
Me: It's okay, just carry on.
B: Then why you said *something* (Couldn't hear what was he mumbling)
Me: I never say anything.

The game played on. Once I received the ball and within a split second, B came from behind and lunged into me. WTF?!?!?! Seriously, this is so damn unprofessional! Right now, my ankle hurts because of that.

Not only these. I got screwed before for bringing friends who are not that good in futsal. And one of them even condemned my friend in front of everyone!

Those kinda incidents really put the game off and people eventually lose interest for the remaining of the game. How are we suppose to enjoy when the opponents are always drunk and they start playing rough? Sigh!

Though we settled our differences after the game, deep inside me I think that's so unnecessary. I owe him NO apology and I stand by that. I play to make friends, NOT foes.

To the 2 of you, please join the professional league instead. Perhaps this time you'll get the beating of your life.
