Dear Band Directors,

The Pride of Oklahoma is continuing it’s “Game Day Guest” program for students that are considering coming to OU and participating in the Pride.  This unique experience is FREE to the student, and is only for the student. It allows for them to spend the entire Game Day with The Pride – at our morning rehearsal, at lunch, at rewarm, the pregame concert, ON THE SIDELINES for both Pregame and Halftime, and the Post Game Concert!!

The participating students sit with The Pride (this is NOT a performing opportunity like HS Band Day, so they do not bring any instruments) and experience what it is like to be “in” The Pride during a game.  Every home game (except this first, since it is our HS Band Day event) is an option to attend.  The student will select games in priority order when they register.

If any of your students might be interested in this opportunity, here is the information for them:

1. It is FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED (there are a limited number of seats per game, so get registered early!)
2. Seniors in HS get 1st priority, then Juniors
3. Sophomores may apply, but might not be able to participate (based on the number of upper-class applications)
4. Everyone must register at bands.ou.edu
5. They must send in 2 forms of recommendation (the form is emailed to them after they register)
6. They must send in a resume (something that would be sent for a scholarship opportunity)
   

Once their file is complete, it will be reviewed.  If their resume and recommendation letters are approved, and space is still available for the games they selected, they are invited by the Faculty here at OU to spend an entire game day with us!

Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions about this, or just give my information to your students!  We love to offer this to the HS students and they love to attend! It’s a lot of fun for them and yes – TOTALLY FREE FOR THEM!!!

With the help from fellow Blue Pride Veterans, the Rookies made a butt load of progress. . . Even though it was hot as the dickens. They put forth a lot of effort and showed that this my be a great year.

This is Timmy, your 2010-2011 Band historian. I would like to take this time to thank you for electing me to this office. I will try my best to record our band’s activities in an organized form so that future bands can look back at our accomplishments and recognize our failures.

I have set myself some goals:
1. To take pictures and video of our band participating at various contest, games, and other events.
2. To compile these pictures and videos into one presentation that will be shown at our end of the year awards banquet.
3. To work with our Public Relations Officer and publicize our band through the paper and social media.

So these are my goals that I have set. Please be cooperative in my efforts and lets make this year great!
