Legalization of marijiuana beyond the bias.

2011-11-03T09:18:00.000-07:00

Anytime you even write or speak of this topic we as a society automatically assume that the speaker is an avid marijuana user. For me this is not the case at all. But I do pose a few question for all those who make these prejudices and are totally against legalization in anyway. Here are the Facts.
When comparing marijuana to alcohol by totals of fatalities. Each year over 500,000 thousand people die from complications to alcohol or car accidents linked to this drug. How many people die each year from marijuana? zero. In actuality there has never been any direct link to any death related to marijuana.
Also, Alcohol is one of the most addictive drugs on the market. and can lead to a very harmful disease known as alcoholism. Marijuana however contrary to popular belief, is scientifically non addictive. So by now you may ask yourself why is it illegal? We can attribute this to our own history and prejudices. Alcohol has been a part of our culture going way back to Europe and our ancestors. Marijuana however is considered to be "new" something very barbaric. Yellow Journalism is a big cause. Many owners of the biggest companies and newspapers hated Mexicans and people from South America. So with this hatred created the negative view towards marijuana. Its seen as lower class because of these prejudices.
We have ended the alcohol prohibition to turn our economy around during hard times, Will we do this again? Before you form opinions take a look at some facts and make your own mind up.

Athletes Being Paid up to 2K.

2011-11-01T09:41:00.000-07:00

New legislation is being passed to allow universities to pay up to 2,000 dollars a year. The thinking behind is that athletes do not have the time to work and make an income like normal college students can due to the sport that they play. So the NCAA as a reimbursement is going to allow these payments to be mad. I know there are a lot different opinions on this topic.

If Banners were hung in November

2011-10-26T18:08:00.000-07:00

If banners were hung in November then there would be about 3 teams that would win it every year. But that's the beauty of college basketball is that the season is a journey. Teams that learn and progress and get better as a unit through hard work and good coaching. That's the teams you see in the big dance. That's what makes it special.

Recovering from Mono

2011-10-21T06:11:00.000-07:00

This is by far one of the toughest things athletically to come back from. Mono is a virus that lowers your immune system and completely zaps your energy levels. All you want to do is sleep. Now that I am about 2 months recovering from it I still feel many of the affects from it especially now that we have started two a days with the team. And I have to cautious when you are recovering because you can easily go into relapse where you basically have it all over again.

My Promise

2011-10-17T06:11:00.000-07:00

I'm not gonna promise any of our fans and supporters huge success this year as far as final fours and 25+ wins, No I really cant promise any of that an as athletes none of us can I don't care where you play. But I promise that I will do everything for my Coaches, Teammates, and Fans to make this program better everyday, To make people truly proud to Topper fans. I will do whatever I have to do. Everyday is a challenge and a struggle with how hard we being pushed everyday. Our coaches are demanding so much out of us but that is what will carve us into greatness. I feel great about where I am and the family I have around me and I really believe that cohesiveness will show especially in times of adversity on and off the court. I thank God for whom without him nothing is possible, my family both blood and team, and my fans thank you. Good Times are coming to the Hill.

Mark Zuckerburg.

2011-10-12T07:45:00.000-07:00

I find this guy simply amazing. Now I know a lot of you saw the movie "Social Network" and many came away thinking wow this guy is a real dick and kind of a loser. I have to say after reading about him in interviews and Bio's I really admire this guy and the way he thinks. I mean I think the days of our innovators being stiffs in a tie is over. I mean our generation is based on this. I think that as individuals we must find our own path and strive to breakthrough in our way not in the ways that older society says in the norm. I mean for Zuckerburg he became a millionaire in shorts and flip flops and a different way of thinking. Think outside the box and take a different path.

Machine Gun Kelly Concert

2011-10-07T23:28:00.000-07:00

The was in Covington in a small theater setting and this place was going nuts. I have never really seen a performer quite like MGK. He was nuts grabbing fans and throwing champagne on the crowd it was insane. And he absolutely killed each song. If You haven't heard him DO SO NOW. He has amazing talent and will be doing very big things soon.
