One of the most anticipated American remakes adapted from the late Swedish novelist Stieg Larsson. This film is of course the second adaptation of the book, with the first being the classic 2009 Swedish language film of the same name.

Though I am not a supporter of American Remakes as they are:
A. Generally not as good as the original foreign counterparts
B. Assuming that Americans are idiots and won't get the original or will not read subtitles.
C. CGI laden and never seem to stick to the original style that made the foreign version so popular.
this ones (based on what I have seen for the trailer) seems to have at least stayed true to the book as well as the look and feel staying true to the original Swedish movie.

To me Noomi Repace (pictured above in the original movie)will always be Lisbeth Salander, but I definitely am interested to see what Rooney Mara, the little known actress , brings to the role. Especially since there were so many actress reportedly pursuing this role, like
Carey Mulligan and Anne Hathaway. Some other "supposed" actress vying for the roll were Natalie Portman , Keira Knightley, Emma Watson( Harry Potter), Ellen Page (Juno Fame), Mia Wasikowska( Easy A and the new Mary Jane Watson from Spiderman Reboot). Its even been said that Scarlett Johansson and perpetual "Debbie Downer" Kristen Stewart (Bella of Twilight) wanted the roll...But honestly Scarlett Johansson? Are you even serious? Do we not remember that horrible Aeon Flux movie with Charlize Theron? BUT, Kristen Stewart would have incited a riot. Secretly, my curiosity would have liked to see "Hermiome"(Emma Watson) get a little gritty, lol...she supposedly even cut her hair to show dedication to getting the part.

Wonder how good the remake will be?

The WOLF PACK is back in town! Get ready for "The Hangover:Part 2" when Phil(Bradley Cooper), Alan(Zach Galifianakis) and Doug(Justin Bartha ) travel to Bangkok for Stu’s(Ed Helms) wedding. After the bachelor party in Las Vegas, Stu is taking no chances and has opted for a safe, subdued pre-wedding brunch. However, things don't always go as planned.
Mike Tyson is scheduled to reprise his role as himself from the first film and if you notice Ed Helms character "Stu" has "face tattoo" like Mike. Paul Giamatti has been cast in an unspecified role and it Ken Jeong is back as Leslie Chow.
Liam Neeson will have a cameo as Neeson replaced Mel Gibson as a Bangkok tattoo artist following a revolt by the cast and crew against Gibson's involvement in the movie.

Update: Word also has it that they are looking for Charlie Sheen to make some sort of appearance in the movie, even though shooting for this film has ended....WINNING!

After seeing the film to promote Jawbone, creators of mobile accessories (most known for their bluetooth headsets),I don't know whether to laugh, or cringe.
The whole premise of the commercial is to show how "Jawbone products eliminate noise" , illustrated after an obnoxious yuppie comes into the store and starts stereotyping the workers.
It was funny up until the end, where the extreme graphics made us slightly uncomfortable...which is hard as we are definitely inappropriate people most of the time. Take a look at the commercial below...but don't ask me why they labeled it "Hot Asian Girls Beat Down White Guy"

By now most of us have seen or heard of that awful "Friday" Song by Rebecca Black, the teen age pop singer and with most videos, it has gone viral. Considered by many people be the worst pop song ever, its not surprising that it has already garnered 15 million views on youtube.
When I first saw the clip on a "show that shall remain nameless" I thought that they had doctored the clip , but after seeing the original, I see that it is how she really sounds. I would say her voice sounds "chipmunk like" with a little touch of "robot", but even Alvin and the chipmunks could sing in tune. Now as with all viral hits, the "Parodies" and "Mash Up's" have started...this one is one of the better ones called "Friday vs Friday" which is a mashop of Jessica Black's song and the Ice-Cube/ Chris Tucker cult classic movie "Friday"...take a look below and if you want to see the original Friday song by Rebecca Black, take a look below the mash up.

For those of you who have been in a hole, the new trailer for X-Men: First Class has just arrived. Starring James McAvoy and Micheal Fassbender playing Profession Xavier and Magneto respectively, this is no doubt one of the most anticipated movies of the year.
On a side note I am really excited to see Azazel, the red demon who has the ability to teleport and shoot "energy bolts" from his hands. He as well as Mystique are the biological parents of popular mutant Nightcrawler, who got his teleportation from Azazel and the blue skin from Mystique. This being something that was never even mentioned in the X-Men Part 2 film

FINALLY!, Futurama is back!

An announcement was made on June 9th that Comedy Central had picked up the show for 26 new half-hour episodes that will begin airing in mid-2010. It was announced that a casting notice was posted to replace the entire cast when 20th Century Fox ( the parent company) would not meet their salary demands, so during Comic Con , many fans converged on the Futurama booth to voice displeasure. If its one thing you don't mess with, it's devoted fans of cult t.v shows.
So with the help of Maurice LaMarche ( who voices Kif on the show) who sent a message that was sent to members of the "Save the Voices of Futurama" group on Facebook, all the members of the original show are coming back. So that means West, Sagal, DiMaggio, LaMarche, MacNeille, Tom, LaMarr, and Herman will all be returning.
When Futurama first aired on fox it had a decent following as it was created by "The Simpsons" creator and aired after the show, but by the 4th season ratings had dropped and Fox canceled the series in 2003. But much like other "brilliant but canceled" shows, Cartoon Network became the savior of the series, picking it up as well as "Family Guy" (which we are fans of) and began airing it with "Family Guy" during the "Adult Swim" block at night. This "Adult Swim " block helped get "Family Guy" back on the air at Fox, but sadly that didn't happen with "Futurama"Enter Comedy Central , who committed to sixteen new episodes and decided that four films would be produced. With that "Bender's Big Score", "The Beast with Billion Backs" , "Bender's Game" and "Into the Wild Green Yonder" were made and aired with "Into the Wild Green Yonder" intending to be the series finale.
We are excited that this show is coming back, especially in the wake of some of the other crap that is on t.v right now.

Now I am a celebrated pooper like alot of people, but the individuals behind the PooTrap have taken it a step to far. This contraption (patent pending) is out of Asia (Big Surprise) and buckles around your dogs body, enabling the dog to poop directly in the a sanitary bag.
According to the company, the "first time" is always the hardest, but for long-term and better results it will benefit your pet in the long run.
REALLY? Since when is having a plastic bag strapped to your anus improving your quality of life? The company also states that 98% of dogs will get use to this product once they try it for three days.
Though this product is Asia based they do have distributors in other countries via the web.The PooTrap sells for between $29.95 and $38.95 in the USA depending on the size of your dog. The bags cost extra - about $5 for a pack of 30.
Also, since this glorified body harness seems to look a little complicated, the company has a couple of videos to show you how to use the product .

Take notice of the background music, lol.So I guess the moral of this story is that if you wrestle and weigh your dog down for three consecutive days then you to can save 3 precious minutes of your life that you would have spent extending your arm and reaching down and scooping up the pop.

Law & Order: SVU

So I walk out of my house and what do I see.....the bastards have shut down my street for something, which annoyed me, until I saw that they were filming Law & Order :SVU. Then my disgust turned into a little bit of a star stuck fan.
Unfortunately, I only had my crappy low megapixel camera phone so I snapped a couple of shots with it.

So this is my shot of Chris Meloni aka Stabler running across the street to start the scene....yes that is him in the suite on the left. While I was across the street like a stalkerazzi, the little crowd of people next to me were lamenting about trying to see Ice-T. I then had to school this newly minted fans about the Law & Order protocal. ...and that is you rarely see both sets of partners out together.The same for all the Law & Order Franchise.

I finally had to leave ( I did actually have something to do) and said "screw it", so I walked across the street and as I walked by got a nice close up shot of Mariska Hargitay aka Olivia and Chris Meloni aka Stabler talking in between scenes. They seem to be comfortable with each other ( take a hint Vincent D'onofrio) and that translates well on screen. Mariska was limping, ...I later found out after googling, that she had an accident with her leg a little while ago.

I was actually thinking that they were going to stop me from getting to close. I had visions of being tackled and then getting my mug splayed across the six o'clock news, but the SVU crew was very nice and new that people were just curious. As long as we didn't over step our bounds, they went on about their business.

And while I was getting in a cab, I turn around and who do I see about to enter the scene? None other than Mahershalalhashbaz Ali, best none for playing Richard on The 4400....yes people, that is his actual name...that is a mouthful, but kudos for him for not changing it for hollywood like alot of actors do.
So it looks like he is going to be making an appearance on this season of SVU.

I can't wait....Law & Order:SVU.........watch it

Michael Jackson was many things to many people and his personal life in the latter years, often over shadowed his professional accomplishements. No matter what has been said about Michaeal (true or false) no one can ever argue that he wasn't the "King of Pop". He influenced dozens of artist and no one will ever come close to his music and pop culture status.
At Vintage Pop Tees, we choose to remember him from his "Off the Wall " album. This was the first album I was given and I was so excited that I took it too school to show everyone!

We choose to remember the good and positive aspects of his life and have added several new tees to our line in tribute to and icon.
