In the song, Dylan sounds off on the alleged acts of racism and profiling that took place against Carter which lead up to an unfair trial and life sentence in 1967. The Federal Courts later overturned the ruling setting Rubin Carter free.

Dylan’s Hurricaine was released on Dylan’s 1976 album Desire. Later it was featured on the soundtrack of the film biography “Hurricane” which re-told of story of Rubin Carter. This is a great song by Dylan. Enjoy!

The Ramones released “California Sun” on their 1976 compilation “All the Stuff (And More!) Volume 1″ and again later on 1999’s “Hey! Ho! Let’s Go: The Anthology”.

Originally, “California Sun” was written by Henry Glover and Morris Levy, and performed by The Rivieras and has since been covered by many others. The Ramones version has really distanced itself from the others however, as the Ramones version can often be heard anywhere from movies to television commercials. Enjoy!
