By 1943 the company was doing quite well and selling lots of typewriters, but then World War II came along and their factory suffered some damage as a result of the bombings and eventually the East German government took control over the company and renamed it Optima.&nbsp; <span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">Upon her return to the United States she formed the Wolf Company and was the first and only female artist of her time to establish her own publishing company with the financial backing of the Wolf brothers.</span>&nbsp;
