The date was June 12th, 2011. A Day that will live on in infamy for 31 year old Kris D from the United Kingdom. Kris purchased the above Stevie Nicks 1989 concert t-shirt from the VintagePimps eBay store on this date. After paying via PayPal, it traveled thousands of miles from my quiet town in New Jersey to the bustling lights of the UK, and from there it was worn to a Stevie Nicks concert and record signing, where according to Kris, she absolutely adored his new (vintage) digs! How cool is that?! Maybe that is the circle of life that they were referring to in the Lion King.

Over the past month, we have chatted with our new buddy Kris about his love for Stevie Nicks/Fleetwood Mac, and his passion for their music is easy to see. He also just recently bought a 1979 Fleetwood concert tee and a killer New Kids On The Block shirt from us ( Kris has the Right Stuff, Baby!). We asked him some Questions about the band that he loves, a singer that literally brings him to tears, and here are his answers.

Kris with Stevie Nicks herself, rockin' the vintage tee he purchased from VP's!

When and where did you meet Stevie Nicks: I met Stevie Nicks when did an album signing to celebrate the release of her new album 'In Your Dreams' at HMV record store, Oxford Circus London on Monday 27th June.

How long have you been a fan of Stevie Nicks/Fleetwood Mac: I'm 31 years old. I was brought up on Fleetwood Mac; I then discovered Stevie Nicks solo stuff in my early teens. It was stuff i'd heard, but not put the 2 together! I absolutely LOVE both!!!

Favorite song by Stevie/Fleetwood: WOW, thats a hard one! Errr, ok, i'm gonna have to have a couple by each, I can't pick 1! Fleetwood Mac i'll say, 'Hold Me', 'The Chain' 'Did You Ever Love Me', 'Go Your Own Way', Hypnotized', 'Oh Diane'... Lol! Now for Stevie - 'Stand Back', 'Rooms On Fire', 'Edge Of Seventeen', 'Talk To Me'.

How many vintage concert tees of Fleetwood do you own: I've got 5, soon to be 7 original Fleetwood Mac concert tee's and 2 Stevie Nicks.

How many Stevie/FW Mac shows have to you been to: Unfortunately only 1; Hard Rock Calling in London on the 26th June 2011. I'm considering taking a trip to OZ next year to see her new tour! I'm hoping she's tour the UK too! And hopefully, maybe one day, a reunion with the Mac!

What did Stevie Nicks say to you when you met her: Well, I had this whole speech set out - I couldn't speak, I froze! Then started crying. Stevie said, 'Oh Darling, whats wrong', all I could say was I love you! She held my hand and said "thank you i'm touched." Then we had a picture.

Did she comment on the shirt? She looked at the shirt before she looked at me, then smiled and gave me a warm knowing smile.

Having model/actress Brenna Roth in a photoshoot for VintagePimps signifies the start of some wonderful things to come. Brenna has been on the Hollywood scene for some time now, appearing in films such as Adventureland, Spider-Man 3, and the upcoming movie "The Tree of Life". She brings style and attitude to a brand that has brought tens of thousands of people killer vintage for the past 7 years! The shoot was done in Asbury Park on Tuesday May 24th by the talented photographer Craig Metz. We shot in the old casino area of the boardwalk, outside the Stone Pony nightclub, and in a retro Pinball Museum called Silverball Museum. If you are ever in Asbury Park, be sure to pay a visit. The owner Ron is a really nice guy who let us enter at no charge, take some killer pics, and even get in some pinball action. Also, we want to thank make-up artist Ivette and assistant to VP's Autumn Z for their work on the shoot.

The Rolling Stones 1981 Dragon Print

We intend to list the 60+ vintage tees we shot on eBay in the next couple of weeks, so be sure to have a look daily at our online store. In fact, we will be listing some killer pieces this Saturday, so cancel those plans and spend some time with us! Enjoy the below pictures of Brenna doing her thing, and we want to thank her again for hanging with us that sunny day on the boardwalk of New Jersey! It was a blast!

When I was asked by my good friend Michael Mantagas (VintagePimps) to write for this blog, I said "Yes" with the intention of talking about vintage T shirts as an investment. Simply for the fact that Michael and I have seen these items substantially increase in value over the last couple of years; and they do offer monetary gain for the buyer in the long run. But the more I thought about why I buy them, the less logical this excuse seemed. It turned out that once I dug into the depths of my God forsaken, obsessive VINTAGE MIND, that the real reason we buy them is for the feelings they give us or the feelings they bring back, for use of a better term, it doesn't have a God Damned thing to do with the money, although the money I make from my store, Trouser Snake Vintage Gallery, supports my habit. Deep down, making money is just some bullshit excuse I use to rationalize the purchase of these items. My business happens to be my love and my hobby, whether any of the readers on this blog can equate to the feelings of wearing a vintage T shirt they purchased or not, I assure you they can equate feelings to nearly everything they purchase. It could be the feeling you get from that new car smell (Accomplishment), to the feeling you get from a twenty dollar blow job from some back alley whore (Validation). We buy things based on feelings, not on money.

Enough about why WE buy! To be honest with you, I only give a shit about why I buy and what I buy and the feelings I get from these shirts. You and your therapist can come up with the reasons you buy and the feelings they resurrect or convey. I'm currently collecting vintage skate T's from the 80's; skate T's from Powell Peralta, Santa Cruz and other skate companies that I used to own as a kid. These items bring back fond memories of NOT BEING IN SCHOOL or NOT WORKING; They bring back memories of NOT BEING ACCOUNTABLE; They bring back feelings of a lack of responsibility, and the freedom of being able to wander the streets aimlessly with four bucks in my pocket looking for my first piece of ass, all the while still knowing I had a loving home stocked with fruit roll ups, Sega games, and a genital caressing creepy Uncle to return to; no matter the outcome of my adventures. These items bring back feelings that I can still be reminded of today, minus the creepy genital caressing Uncle (who happens to be in prison!). It's funny the things we remember about our clothing when we come across something we haven't seen in a while, whether it's a skate T you might of been wearing when you got in your first fist fight, a prom dress you might have lost your virginity in, or the pair of jeans you were wearing when O.J. got acquitted. These items bring back feelings when we rediscover, hold and wear proudly.

There's another reason I buy vintage tees, or another feeling I should say that is a result of these purchases that I like to call "ENERGY.” I've also been collecting Vintage rock T's from the 70's and 80's. Most of the folks reading this blog are collectors that can relate to the feeling of energy that comes from opening a package containing a 1978 Rolling Stones concert T shirt or any piece of memorabilia "THAT WAS THERE.” You get my drift? IT WAS AT THE SHOW! It still has that energy on it; It reeks of the energy of 65,000 people inside a screaming venue from some night 35 years ago. This clothing gives off the feeling of a night of fun, sin, heavy drinking, drug use, sex and all the chaos absorbed from the original wearer three and a half decades afterwards. I'm addicted to this ENERGY! These objects have experience, and to be able to strap all that experience gathered over the years on your back and take it with you on a night out is a very powerful thing. It's great to wear and be able to talk about something that has a story, a history and just an overall vintage aura and patina radiating from it. Below are a few examples of some the items I'm collecting or currently have for sale at Trouser Snake Vintage Gallery and all of them give me certain feelings. Next time you think about purchasing a vintage T or any item of clothing for that matter, think about the feeling it's going to give you, or the feeling you want to give off to others, because that's really what you're buying. SERIOUSLY, FUCK THE MONEY!
I myself am a big fan of these t shirts, especially the Harley, Truckers Only, and Hog inspired prints. Whenever I get my hands on these, I know that I can get some decent prices for them on auction, or if the size is right (L), I keep it for myself!

Once a week or so I do an eBay 3D Emblem search. What is the big appeal of these tees? Well, in my opinion, it is the amazing fabric, the black color, the softness level, and the killer prints. International buyers really eat these up, especially in Malaysia and Thailand. Below are 3 samples of the nearly 100 3D Emblem vintage tees currently on ebay. VintagePimps (and newly added staff) have been working on creating a really cool website, scored on some very lucrative vintage buying trips, as well as really focusing on building a Facebook presence! Rest assured, we are back and will try our darned hardest to update you with some fun and exciting vintage news and stories on a daily basis! Vintage is our passion in life, and we intend to bring you along for this fun ride.

Our first entry is what we like to call "This Week in eBay Bidding." We will display all of the vintage items that we won for the week. We must spend 5-6 hours a week on eBay ( and hundreds of dollars) looking for cool shirts to add to our collection. With this collection, I hope to someday put out a book of rare vintage tees for my fans to see. A coffee table book for the vintage masses out there! So with this said, we welcome you back to VintagePimps blog and hope that you check back each day for more great vintage content. Enjoy!

Sports were my life as a kid, especially the NBA. I literally lived and breathed basketball, memorizing league stats and player stats, as well as immitating some of my favorite players signature moves on the court ( or at least attempting to!)
Now that I am in the vintage clothing game, it is so cool to come across sports items from that era. I was lucky enough to come across 2 amazing Chalk Line snap jackets of Michael Jordan and Larry Bird, which got me thinking of the game Jordan vs Bird, which came out in 1988.
Here are some pictures to refresh your memory...I am sure if you had sega in the early 90's and were an NBA fan, this game might have been in your collection.
In todays installment of "Special Vintage Delivery," I am proud to present the 3 below tees, all from the late 1970's. These will proudly be for sale when I open my vintage store in August 2011 ( details to come so be sure to follow my blog!)
This package included a Blue Oyster Cult concert t-shirt from 1978, and 2 Seattle Supersonics tees from 1979. Sure as hell beats getting bills in the mail!

If you don't know this man, then I suggest that you go to Youtube right now, and listen to this. Nick Drake, in my musical opinion, is one of the best songwriters of all time, and probably the most unique guitar player to ever strum the 6-string. What is sad is that he didn't ever really get to enjoy his success, as his music didn't get popular until the past few years.

In 1974, Nick passed away in his sleep at the age of 26. The cause of death was an overdose of anti-depressants, and it is still speculation whether or not it was on purpose or accidental. Simply put, Nick's legacy still remains intact today and each one of his songs really tug on my heart strings. I recently bought his biography on ebay ( for $1.45!) and am looking forward to reading it.

Please check out Nick Drake if you have never heard his music. It will really tame your soul and make you see how he viewed the world. Some of my favorite songs by Nick Drake are: River Man, Day is Done, The Thoughts of Mary Jane, Saturday Sun, Northern Sky, Which Will, Pink Moon, and From The Morning. Give them a listen and let me know what you think.
Well, we just listed some wicked vintage clothing in our ebay store on this fine day, Halloween. I spent all day answering the doorbell, dishing out chocolate to the kiddies in my neighborhood, and trying to post some of my new vintage goodies. Well, I was able to post 40 items! Have a look here at the 250+ premium items in the store. Below are some of the highlights of what was posted today. Also, be sure to add Vintagepimps on facebook by clicking here. Take it from Kyle at Stormcrow-Vintage when he says that this Motley Crue tee is the holy grail of all Crue tees. Who are we to disagree with this seemingly very true statement? I would have to agree with my good buddy here. The graphic on this one of a kind Crue tee is fantastic, and with Halloween right around the corner, I challenge anyone to prove our opinions wrong!

Stormcrow just listed over 70 new vintage tees. Definitely have a look and support the man, the myth, and the legend. Run and Tell that, Homeboy!
When I picked up the above tee a month or so ago, I definitely let out a hardy chuckle or two. What a cool tee, circa the 1970s. How can you not love 2 pieces of Shit ( I think they are actually good souls) arm in arm, frolicking to some sort of social event. I like to think that they were just reunited after years apart in the sewage systems of Manhattan. A man can dream, can't he?

Here at Vintagepimps, we are gearing up for some amazing listings! We also just recently became a Top Rated Seller! Go us. Have a look here at our fine ebay store, stacked wall to wall with some of the coolest vintage tees around. And as always, thanks for stopping by and reading what is on our twisted vintage mind.
Kyle sure knows his way around a closet filled with vintage concert tees ( I am convinced that he sometimes sleeps on mounds of them). The guy lives and breathes the vintage tee business just like VP's does, and it is with great Vintage pleasure that we announce that his store, Stormcrow-vintage, has nearly 170 hard to find tees on sale. This is your chance to buy an early xmas present, spoil your chest and buy that tee you always wanted, or just throw caution to the wind and put some t shirts on your credit card!
Be sure to check his store on a daily basis, as Kyle has assured me that he will be listing some new goodies very soon. Stormcrow is one of the highest ranked vintage t shirt sellers on the planet, so take it from us and get familiar with them if you aren't already.

The founder of the world famous Defunkd Vintage, Jimmy J, has created "The world's only vintage-centric search engine," and the vintage community couldn't be more excited! He calls this vintage brain child 'MothFood', a well thought out website that caters to the vintage clothing fan who wants to buy authentic vintage clothing from the most trusted sellers out there.

Built in this website is a search engine that searches the Web, Ebay, and Etsy for the vintage item of your choice, all the while pulling back sellers who have a great reputation and have been approved by the vintage Don himself, Jimmy J! The great part about this search feature is that you don't even have to type in the word vintage. The site knows that this is what you want! How cool is that?!

Other features of this site include an extensive blog that promises to bring us entertaining entries on a whole array of vintage clothing topics, a Forum for vintage lovers to meet and chat, a Directory that will store all of the top Vintage sellers websites and links, as well as a Twitter section that will house nothing but Vintage Tweets. Does it get any better than this?

We dig the name MothFood, and our curious minds led us to a Google search of what Moths like to eat. Here is what the moth experts have to say: "Some moth larvae eat fabrics such as wool and silk. The caterpillars will eat plants. Adult moths do not eat. They drink nectar and water. Some large moths do not have mouths." All I have to say to the moths are STAY AWAY FROM MY VINTAGE TEES! AND LEAVE MY VINTAGE BUDDIES ALONE TOO! YOU CAN EAT THE COUNTERFEITERS CLOTHES ANYTIME THOUGH! Okay, no more CAPS....

Well done Jimmy J. You truly are a vintage pioneer.

Howdy folks! Today's Ebay tee of the day is a t-shirt we just listed in our store. I must admit that I absolutely fell in love with this shirt as soon as I laid my eyes on it. It is amazing! Irish 6-Pack of Lepricans! I mean how much more amazing can a t-shirt graphic be?!
It may only be August, and a few months out from St. Patty's Day, but this shirt will surely be the hit of the day. People will take pictures with you, make you sign autographs...you will be famous. So why not buy it. I have it listed for $80 or B/O. So if you want it, click here, and be sure to look at all of the new vintage tees we have added in our store.

VintagePimps is sorry to say that we took an extra long nap and have neglected to do a post in nearly 2 weeks...Unacceptable, I know..

But, to make up for it, we have listed some wicked vintage tees and will continue listing them in our Ebay Store. Have a look here as we know you will enjoy the tees we are going to be displaying. They come from our personal collection that has been growing and growing over the years! My closet has no room, so it is time to sell some to someone who will appreciate it. Just like the way Willy Wonka gave Charlie the chocolate factory! (My favorite all time movie scene)

The nap was good but we are refreshed and ready to rock and roll. Oh yeah, and we are going to be doing some major eating. You get hungry from not eating for 2 weeks, let me tell you. Off to Taco Bell!

Writing a blog entry about something you love should prove to be rather easy, but at times, it is extremely difficult. There are so many things to show, so many wonderful vintage t shirts to display, vintage sellers to promote, personal items to brag about. But tonight what struck me the hardest was the amazing vintage t shirt collection from our Canadian friends Vintage Retro Wear. They are a loyal blog sponsor who have been selling on Ebay for over 10 years! One of the original vintage pioneers. Have a look here at their amazing store.

They currently have 2143 t-shirts listed in their store at the time of this entry. What a great number...has 1 4 3 in it! We do love them indeed, and I think they love each of us in a very special way. Why else would they list so many killer vintage tees?! We stand behind their store, and you should have a peek! You will certainly find a t shirt that you MUST HAVE!

Happy Friday as they like to say in the Corporate world. Yuck! Anyhoot, Vintagepimps just scored 25 amazing Grateful Dead tees from the 1970s and 1980's Below are 3 such shirts that we wanted to unveil to the world (or the 5 or so of you who read this blog).

The first Dead tee is from their Radio City Music Hall concert in October of 1981. This tee is PAPER THIN! Completely see through with amazing graphics on the front and back. I was pretty pysched to get this t shirt situated in my ever growing collection.

The second GD tee has equally, if not better graphics on the front and back. This is a Grateful Dead tribute tee chronicling their then 14 year journey on the music scene, beautifully titled "What A Long Strange Trip It's Been." What I love about this tee is all of the Dead symbols, as well as the fact that this is an original tee from 1979. For those of you familiar with the company Junk Food, they took this exact front image and plastered it onto millions of "retro" tees a couple of years back. Real deal here...no immitations will ever grace my closet!

The last Dead tee is one of a kind, and a dream collectible for any Dead, or Star Trek Fan. This tee is from the 1986 Dead Trek convention. It too is buttery soft and see through, and I bet you will never see this shirt ever again. It is essentially priceless in my book. This tee graces my t-shirt wall of fame, and will be proudly hung up next spring in my Chelsea Vintage Store. Look at Garcia, Captain Kirk, and Mr. Spock. Amazing!

Leave it to Kyle, owner of StormCrow-Vintage, to list one of the rarest Sabbath tees known to man. When I saw this on his site, I was rather impressed at his ability to find the rarest concert tees on this planet (then again I am always in awe at what he has listed). be sure to have a look at his ebay store, and rest assured that he is the coolest and most honest seller on Ebay, period. Show his store some love and be sure to buy a one of a kind concert tee for your torso.
