The National Enquirer goes on sale today with a cover story claiming Michael Jackson took… well I mean you can see it. It’s right there.

That’s more than 50 pills a day … more than 30 different types of drugs “for a variety of real and imagined” problems, according to police sources close to the official investigation.
“He was literally living on drugs,” a close source divulged.

Well, he wasn’t “literally” living on drugs but whatever. We shouldn’t jump to conclusions. What’s the recommended daily allowance on painkillers? Is it four? Because he was taking four. Maybe he wasn’t getting enough from his diet alone. And what better way to know what sedative or stimulants work best than to put 8 of them in your system at the same time and let em fight it out?

Lady GaGa attended a press conference in Malta today, um, wearing that. And I must admit, she doesn’t look nearly as ugly as she normally does. Hopefully this trend catches on with people like Courtney Love, Fergie and all the other ugly celebrities.

By now, everyone has seen Paris Michael Katherine Jackson’s moving speech on stage at her father Michael Jackson’s public memorial service yesterday.

Ken Ehrlich, the producer of the Michael Jackson memorial, told CNN that he “didn’t know the kids were going to come up with them” and that the touching moment “was not planned.”

He added, “A lot of the show was not scripted. Music was laid out, but most of the speakers really spoke from their heart – people who knew Michael well – and I think that’s what gave the show its heart.”

The Jackson family truly wanted it to be a public memorial and not a TV show, making it clear that “we don’t want to do a TV show, we want to do a memorial service. We hope you got the feeling you were watching a memorial service.”

Michael Jackson’s only daughter, 11-year-old Paris Michael Katherine, just gave an emotional speech at her father’s memorial service — saying he was the “best father you could ever imagine. I love him so much.”

Michael Jackson’s family is currently making their way to Forest Lawn for his private service and every network is following their every move. After that, the family and Michael Jackson’s body will make their way to the Staples Center for the memorial of all memorials (complete with elephants). TMZ says that the Swat Team will escort Michael’s coffin to his memorial. I’m guessing that they will also escort Michael back to Forest Lawn to be buried later today.

Over 1 billion people are expected to watch the memorial on TV or the internets. MSNBC, CNN and TMZ all have a livestream.

His friends. His family. His neighbors on the pop charts and in Hollywood. They’ve all had their chance to offer very public goodbyes to Michael Jackson - and now it’s your turn.

We are just a few hours away from watching the Michael Jackson Memorial televised. All major news networks will be broadcasting live this final live event with Michael Jackson. Fans all over the World who have Michael Jackson records, love his music and have followed his career will come to Staple Centers.

As you may know, Michael Jackson pop music fans were able to get free double tickets to enter thanks to an online lottery. Then a deadline was given to pick up the winning tickets at the staples Center.

So well, I guess this is the final good bye to one of the greatest musical geniuses from modern times and the absolute King of pop music. The Michael Jackson Memorial Service time will be 10:00 AM.

Today, the Staples Center in Los Angeles will be filled with thousands of people for Michael Jackson’s memorial, but his bestest friend Elizabeth Taylor won’t be there. Liz Twittered that she didn’t want to be a part of it.

“I’ve been asked to speak at the Staples Center. I cannot be part of the public whoopla. And I cannot guarantee that I would be coherent to say a word. I just don’t believe that Michael would want me to share my grief with millions of others. How I feel is between us. Not a public event. I said I wouldn’t go to the Staples Center and I certainly don’t want to become a part of it. I love him too much.”

And, for the record, she also writes she’s “not on suicide watch.”

The memorial will be televised on most major networks at 10am Pacific. So far, the list of performers and speakers include: Usher, Stevie Wonder, Mariah Carey, Jennifer Hudson, John Mayer, Rev. Al Sharpton, Shaheen Jafargholi (from Britain’s Got Talent), Lionel Richie, Smokey Robinson and Brooke Shields.

Larry King’s (who might be a ghost himself) TV crew was inside Neverland Ranch the other day when one of the cameras picked up something gliding (moonwalking, perhaps?) in front of a doorway. It could just be a shadow, a reflection or Joe Jackson looking for anything he could put on Ebay.

Michael Jackson’s funeral is going to be at the Staples centre in LA on Tuesday, as I mentioned in a previous post. Anyone in the area who (for their own reasons) would like to pay the $25 fee to attend may wanna hold their horses. There was a bulletin put out today by the organizers, that 11,000 tickets are going to be given away for free.

Fans wishing to attend singer Michael Jackson’s memorial service next week will have to register for free tickets – 11,000 of which will be given out, organizers said Thursday. Details on how to register for tickets for the service at the 20,000-seat Staples Center in Los Angeles, California, Tuesday will be announced at a press briefing Friday. (via CNN)

A $25,000, solid bronze, 14-karat gold plated, custom casket has been ordered for Michael Jackson. The casket, ordered last night from Batesville Casket Company, is called a Promethean and will feature a flame blue velvet interior and a hand-polished, mirror finish.

This is the same casket used to bury James Brown… and is extremely rare.
