- Admitting wrongdoing strengthens the healing process. As Christians, we should be willing to own our mistakes and seek forgiveness from those we've hurt.

- Healing requires both the offender and the victim to implement humility over pride. Like Esau, we may need to let go of bitterness to embrace reconciliation.

- God hears and responds to our cries of pain from father wounds with love and grace.

- Fathers are called to love and care for all their children equally, providing spiritual legacy, needs, authority, affirmation, and protection.

- Our Heavenly Father acknowledges, accepts, and approves of us as His beloved children, even when earthly fathers may fail.

- God created families to be image-bearers (Imago Dei), representing His character and compassion in the world.

- Sin has marred our ability to fully reflect God's image, leading to issues like control, cowardice, concealment, and compromise in our families.

- Through Christ, we have the opportunity to restore God's original purpose for our families and become better representatives of His love and rule.

- When God feels distant or like the source of our problems, we should still approach Him with our concerns. Our authenticity in prayer strengthens our relationship with Him.

- Meditating on God's past faithfulness can shift our perspective from grief to gratitude, even in the midst of challenging circumstances.

- It's crucial to distinguish between God's presence and the feeling of His presence. God may be working most profoundly in our lives when we feel He is most absent.

- Inadequacy often leads us to unhealthy comparisons or self-focus, but God calls us to see ourselves as part of His larger story.

- Our confidence should come from humble dependence on God, not self-competence. We are called to be faithful stewards, not flawless owners.

- Christ's work on the cross transforms our inadequacy, making us competent ministers of the new covenant through the power of the Holy Spirit.

- Our emotions are meant to inform us, not control us. We must strive for a balance between emotionalism and stoicism, submitting our feelings to Christ.

- Spiritual strongholds are beliefs or thoughts that oppose God's knowledge and can lead to spiritual regression. Recognizing and addressing these is crucial for our spiritual growth.

- We have the power through the Holy Spirit to control our emotional responses. This involves "taking off" our old self, being renewed in our minds, and "putting on" righteousness, purity, and truth.

- We are called to continually seek and set our minds on things above, which means pursuing Christ-like characteristics and viewing life through an eternal lens.

- Through Christ, we have the power to identify destructive thoughts, implement constructive ones, and control our mental responses to triggers.

- Our security in Christ empowers us to live with an eternal mindset, recognizing that our true life is hidden with Christ in God.

- Triggers that aren't submitted to Christ will always be misdiagnosed and mistreated because we'll choose an earthly strategy over a biblical one.

- God often uses unlikely sources and difficult situations to expose our triggers and draw us closer to Him.

- Pride, prestige, and projection are common reasons we hold onto our triggers instead of submitting them to God for healing.

- Emotions are described as the language of the soul. Don’t just bring your brain to prayer, bring your brokenness and raw emotions. 

- Hard circumstances drive us to Him, Hannah went to the temple and referred to the Lord as the Lord of host a military title in 1 Samuel 1:11. 

- Are you asking for things from God that you have no plans on giving Him back? If so, God is graciously holding things back so that you don't replace Him with whatever or whomever you may be seeking Him for.

- God's love is permanent and unbreakable, unlike human relationships that may fail us.

- We are "more than conquerors" through Christ, able to celebrate victory even in the midst of life's battles.

- Nothing in all creation can separate us from God's love – not hardship, not persecution, not even our own failings.

- An eternal perspective on suffering is essential for hope and endurance. Our present sufferings are not worth comparing to the glory that will be revealed in us.

- It's okay for God's children to groan, but we should avoid grumbling. Biblical groaning leads to devotion, while earthly grumbling leads to discontent.

- The Holy Spirit intercedes for us with "inexpressible groanings" when we don't know how to pray, ensuring our prayers align with God's will.

- Through Christ, we have the power to deny our sinful desires and the responsibility to "put to death" the deeds of the flesh.

- We are no longer slaves to fear but have received the Spirit of adoption, allowing us to cry out "Abba, Father" to God.

- As adopted children of God, we are co-heirs with Christ, sharing in both His sufferings and His glory.

- In Christ, there is no condemnation: We are freed from the guilt and penalty of sin, allowing us to live in the joy of God's forgiveness and acceptance.

- The Holy Spirit gives us a new mindset: As believers, we are empowered to set our minds on the things of the Spirit, leading to life and peace.

- Our future is secure: The same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead lives in us, guaranteeing our future resurrection and transformation.

- Assurance of Christ's return should conform our conduct: We are called to live with holy conduct and godliness, displaying the fruits of the Spirit in our daily lives.

- God's patience is for our salvation: We should view the delay in Christ's return as an opportunity for more people to come to faith and for believers to examine their own faith.

- Be on guard against false teachings: We must be diligent in studying Scripture and discerning truth from error, especially regarding difficult passages.

- Belief in Christ's return keeps us from becoming spiritually complacent. We must actively cultivate our faith and knowledge of Scripture.

- God's apparent "delay" in Christ's return is actually an expression of His patience and desire for all to come to repentance.

- The day of the Lord will come unexpectedly, bringing both joy for believers and judgment for the ungodly.

- False teachers often lack true spiritual anointing and authority, despite their persuasive speech and showmanship.

- We must be wary of those who seek adoration and applause rather than genuinely glorifying God.

- True spiritual leaders are characterized by humility, sound doctrine, and a focus on Christ rather than personal gain.

- God's judgment is inevitable for the wicked, including false teachers, while His rescue is assured for the righteous. This should encourage us to persevere in faith despite the prevalence of ungodliness around us.

- Our response to sin matters and has eternal consequences. Like Lot, we may feel tormented by the constant exposure to wickedness, but we must stand firm in our faith and continue to live righteously.

- God's track record of rescuing the godly (like Noah and Lot) should give us confidence in His ability to rescue us from trials and temptations today.

- False teachers often use infiltration, isolation, and indoctrination to lead believers astray. We must be vigilant and grounded in Scripture to recognize these tactics.

- Not all miracles or accurate prophecies come from God. We should judge teachers by their gifts, fruit, and character, always prioritizing our love for God and His Word over charismatic individuals.

- God provides warning signs to keep us aligned with His will. We must pay attention to these signs in Scripture and in our lives to avoid spiritual deception.

- Know the Truth: We must actively engage with God's Word, understanding that knowing precedes remembering and reflecting. This knowledge acts as a safeguard against deception.

- Remember the Truth: Personal experiences, while valuable, should always be confirmed by Scripture. The Bible serves as our "lamp shining in a dark place" guiding us until Christ's return.

- Reflect the Truth: Our lives should mirror the truth we claim to believe. As Pastor Grissett quoted, "We believe something when we act as if it were true."

- Biblical literacy protects against false teaching: As we grow in our understanding of God's Word, we become better equipped to discern truth from error.

- Spiritual maturity is a process of active cultivation: God provides the power, but we must make the effort to supplement our faith with virtues like goodness, knowledge, self-control, and love.

- Our faith should produce visible fruit: As we grow in Christ, we should see increasing evidence of His work in our lives, leading to a more effective and fruitful walk with Him.

- True masculinity and strength are rooted in our identity as sons and daughters of God, not in external appearances or worldly success.

- As warriors for Christ, we must use faith to fight our fears and display trust during tribulation, just as the Israelites did at the Red Sea.

- Jesus, as the ultimate warrior, has already conquered every battle we face - from identity and sexuality to responsibility and spirituality. His victory empowers us to overcome our own challenges.

- God's plan often unfolds through unexpected and challenging circumstances. Just as Joseph's path to leadership in Egypt began with betrayal, our difficulties may be part of God's greater design.

- Forgiveness is a powerful tool for healing and reconciliation. Joseph's ability to forgive his brothers transformed their relationship and saved his family.

- Recognizing God's sovereignty in our lives can help us maintain perspective during trials. Joseph's statement, "You meant evil against me, but God meant it for good," reminds us to look for God's hand in all situations.

- Repentance involves admitting guilt, acknowledging our sinful condition, and accepting the consequences of our actions.

- Disengagement and distraction in our spiritual lives can lead to moral downfall, as illustrated by David's story.

- God desires integrity in our inner self and is more pleased with a broken and contrite heart than with outward sacrifices.

- God sees us differently than we see ourselves. He called Gideon a "valiant warrior" when Gideon saw himself as weak and insignificant.

- Our doubts and fears don't disqualify us from God's calling. Gideon repeatedly sought confirmation, yet God patiently worked with him.

- Stepping out in faith, even with imperfect trust, allows God to work powerfully through us. Gideon's obedience, despite his fears, led to victory for Israel.

- God's loving reception is the key to overcoming rejection. Even when we feel unloved or unnoticed by others, God sees us and responds with love.

- Seeking validation from others or through our accomplishments can lead to codependency and dissatisfaction. Our true worth comes from being God's creation, not from external factors.

- God can use our experiences of rejection for protection, direction, and correction in our lives, ultimately drawing us closer to Him.

- God's redeeming love is more powerful than the depth and darkness of our sin. No matter our past, God can use us for His divine purpose when we submit to Him.

- Faith in action can lead to extraordinary outcomes. Rahab's decision to protect the Israelite spies, rooted in her belief in God's power, not only saved her and her family but also placed her in the lineage of Jesus Christ.

- The "scarlet cord" in Rahab's story symbolizes the blood of Christ and God's mercy, reminding us that our salvation comes through faith in God's promises, not our own merits.

- God uses those who yield to Him: Deborah's willingness to serve God in multiple roles (prophetess, judge, wife) demonstrates how God can use us powerfully when we submit to His will.

- Leadership requires courage and conviction: Deborah displayed fearlessness in battle and faithfulness despite rejection, reminding us to stand firm in our faith even when faced with challenges.

- Our actions have consequences: Barak's hesitation to follow God's command fully resulted in him missing out on the full honor God had prepared for him, teaching us the importance of obedience.

- Your relational status doesn't determine your divine purpose: Abigail's wisdom and faith shone despite being married to a foolish man.

- God can provide calm in chaos: Abigail's composure and quick thinking in a volatile situation exemplify how God equips us to face challenges.

- Wisdom and humility can diffuse tense situations: Abigail's approach to David shows how godly counsel can prevent regrettable actions and honor God.

- Keep and treasure God's commandments within yourself 

- God's Word gives life and should be treated as essential

- Write God's Word on your heart, not just possess it externally 

- Rejecting God's wisdom leads to arrogance, ignorance, and despair 

- Receiving God's wisdom involves fear of the Lord, faith, and fellowship

- True wisdom is found in walking with God and trusting His guidance

- Work and sowing are acts of worship designed by God before the fall

- Righteousness sown may not always yield immediate rewards, but God is ultimately faithful

- Our labor and sowing are participation in God's work, not the cause of the harvest

- The foolishness of boasting stems from our lack of control over life's circumstances. 

- We are entirely dependent on God for everything, including basic necessities

- Life is fleeting, and we should focus on living in the present rather than worrying about tomorrow.

- Proverbs is more than just wise sayings; it's the living Word of God.

- Trusting God with "all your heart" can be challenging but is crucial.

- Our own understanding is limited and can lead us astray.

- Wisdom is about making right decisions at the right time and in the right way. 

- Biblical wisdom, especially in Proverbs, is superior to human wisdom and stands the test of time.

- Responding to enemies with kindness can lead to personal transformation and spiritual growth.

- Prayer should be intentional, intimate, intercessional, and insistent. We need to prioritize prayer, seek undistracted time with God, pray for others, and persist even when answers seem delayed.

- Persistent prayer delights in God's will and is desperate for His presence. We should pray with the expectation that God will answer, not necessarily giving us what we want, but what we need - especially the gift of the Holy Spirit.

- The Holy Spirit's work in our lives is transformative. He convicts us of sin, converts us to new life, connects us to God as our Father, causes us to glorify God, and equips and empowers the church for ministry.

- Spiritual warfare is real, and we must be prepared to stand firm when challenges arise in our lives.

- The armor of God provides us with preparation, protection, and prevention against the enemy's attacks.

- The sword of the Spirit (God's Word) is our offensive weapon, and we must know how to use it effectively in our daily battles.

- Spiritual gifts are grace gifts from God, distributed according to His will, not our worthiness or natural abilities.

- Each believer has at least one spiritual gift, and we are called to use these gifts in service to the church and for God's glory.

- The body of Christ functions best when we recognize our interdependence and use our diverse gifts in unity and love.

- Walking in the Spirit is a daily decision to honor God in every aspect of our lives, relying on His power to overcome the desires of the flesh.

- The fruit of the Spirit (love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control) are characteristics given to believers that display love for God and submission to His lordship.

- Living out the fruit of the Spirit is how we "crucify" the desires of the flesh and grow in our Christian walk.

- Spirit-filled disciples display love for God, joyfully live for Him, and are willingly led by His Spirit.

- The filling of the Holy Spirit is a continuous process that empowers believers to live out God's will and resist temptation.

- Evidence of being Spirit-filled includes praise, thanksgiving, and submission to God and others.

- Our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit: This truth should impact how we live, think, and behave, recognizing the sacredness of our bodies as dwelling places for God's presence.

- Sanctification is the ongoing work of the Holy Spirit: The Spirit continually works to conform us to Christ's image, rescuing us from sin and empowering us for good works.

- The Holy Spirit's indwelling is permanent for believers: Unlike in the Old Testament, we now have the assurance of God's constant presence within us, transforming us from the inside out.

- Suffering is universal, but it can be sanctifying and refining when viewed through faith.

- Job's story teaches us to trust, worship, and praise God even in the midst of intense suffering.

- Our response to suffering can lead to spiritual growth, deeper understanding of God, and the ability to intercede for others.

- God's revelation is often more valuable than resolution: While we may not always get answers to our "why" questions, God provides us with the "who" – reminding us of His character and sovereignty.

- Our perspective is limited: Job's encounter with God reminds us of our finite understanding compared to God's infinite wisdom and power.

- Trust in God's presence and provision: Even when we can't feel or hear God, He is present and working in our lives, just as He cares for all of His creation.

- We must be cautious not to judge a person's character solely based on their circumstances. Suffering is not always a direct consequence of sin.

- When comforting those who are hurting, we should offer sympathy, encouragement, assurance, affirmation, and love, rather than sarcasm, personal experiences, assumptions, advice, or legalism.

- We must seek the Lord's guidance in our compassion and counsel, relying on the wisdom of the Holy Spirit rather than our own understanding or experiences.

- Suffering and supernatural power can coexist. Like Job, we can experience God's power and presence even in the midst of trials and grief.

- When suffering, we should allow ourselves to grieve but not let grief define us. We can still worship, proclaim God's sovereignty, process pain through prayer and reflection, praise Him, and stay connected to our faith community.  

- God is always at work in our suffering, even when we don't perceive it. He uses trials to produce endurance, character, hope, and Christ-likeness in us.

- Suffering is a reality in this fallen world, but as believers, we can find hope knowing that Christ suffered for us, and that our suffering has an expiration date.

- God is sovereign over our suffering; while He may allow it, He never abandons us in the midst of it. We must never mistake God's silence for His indifference.  

- Suffering tests the depth of our faith, hope, and motives. Like Job, we can choose to worship God, proclaim His sovereignty, and continue serving Him, even in our pain.

- Our Emotions are meant to be gifts.

- Angers calls us to Action.

- Always Pause with God for Reflection before Responding in Anger

- Direct your pain to God in prayer, naming your emotions and acknowledging the impact of hurtful words or actions that you've experienced.

- Endure the pain by seeking God's strength and direction, rather than trying to escape or retreat from the situation.

- Process your pain purposefully by voicing your feelings to God, while trusting in His justice and sovereignty.

- Conflict as an Opportunity for Growth: We discussed how separation in relationships, though difficult, can lead to personal and communal growth if handled with godly wisdom.

- Biblical Guidance for Healthy Separation: We examined scenarios that may necessitate a temporary separation in relationships, stressing that the ultimate goal is always reconciliation.

- Restorative Separation: Our conversation included practical steps such as contrition, contemplation, community, communication, and connection which must any period of separation to ensure it remains restorative.

- The Role of Community: We were reminded of the importance of the community's role in both the calling and resolution of conflicts within the church.

- The Power of Reconciliation: Highlighted by the eventual reunion of Paul and Mark, we celebrated the hope that shines through when estranged relationships are mended through faith.

Here are a few key takeaways to meditate on this week:

- Roots of Conflict is Internal: We explored James 4 to understand that conflicts often arise from pride and self-centeredness. Our internal processing significantly influences our external responses to such situations.

- We Need to be LOVER's: A transformative approach to handling conflict that includes Leading with restoration, Overlooking some offenses, Viewing others as God’s creations, giving people our Ear while listening to understand rather than just to respond and Resisting vengeance.

- Overcoming Comparison: By examining the relationship between David and Saul, we learned the importance of resisting comparison and embracing the unique purpose and timing God has for each of us. Embrace your calling and don't compare your calling to that of others.

- Choosing Restoration Over Retaliation: David's example taught us the power of mercy and purpose, even when faced with hostility, as we saw in his restraint with Saul.

- Recognize the roots of conflict, often stemming from family of origin issues, self-centeredness, and pride, and address these issues with a heart of humility.

- Use Scriptural guidance, such as the wisdom found in James and the teachings of Jesus, to transform disputes into opportunities for growth and peacemaking.

- Practice introspection and accountability by owning our part in disagreements and seeking to preserve relationships over being right.

- The Resurrection as the Ultimate Comeback - compared the resurrection to some of the most remarkable comeback stories in sports and personal life, showing that Christ's triumph over death is the greatest victory, offering us eternal hope and purpose.

- Spiritual Renewal for Everyone - the message at the tomb was not just for the disciples but for all of us. Jesus' resurrection signifies a promise of renewal for the marginalized, the sorrowful, and anyone seeking redemption.

- Victory Over Death and Despair -  scripture reminds us that the resurrection assures us of a final destination characterized by peace and joy, free from pain and suffering.

- Our Divine Identity: We are each a unique masterpiece created by God, wonderfully crafted for a purpose. Remember, no matter our traits or inclinations, we are His possession, the pinnacle of His creation, and we hold a special position in His plan that calls us to perform good works prepared for us beforehand.

- The Power of Sister Friends: Like trees in a forest, we thrive through the support and protection of one another. Our sister friends lift us up, carry us through tough times, and provide accountability. Let's commit to expanding our circles and embracing new relationships within our church family.

- Finding Beauty in Brokenness: Just as a seed must break to sprout and grow, our brokenness can lead to growth and the emergence of new life. Challenges and trials, while tough, are the very things that can forge our strength and beauty in faith.

- Community Building: Inclusivity is key in nurturing our church community, especially among our sisters of all races and backgrounds. Let us be proactive in welcoming new members and weaving their unique threads into the rich tapestry of our church family.

- The Purpose and Power of Prayer: We discussed that prayer is more than just making requests; it's an act of obedience, service, and a means to align our will with God's. Rooted in faith, Jesus' name, and the power of the Holy Spirit, prayer can change not just our circumstances but us as individuals.

- Navigating Sin and Salvation: We tackled the difficult concept of the 'sin leading to death' and the importance of the Holy Spirit in our salvation. Remember, while some sins seem daunting, our intercessory prayers can still make a difference in the lives of those who stumble.

- Resisting Modern-Day Idolatry: Our conversation included a warning against the subtle idolatries of power, pride, and self-reliance. It's crucial to remain vigilant and keep our relationship with Christ at the forefront.

- The Conquering Power of Love: We discussed the biblical assertion that true victory comes through our faith in Jesus Christ and our obedience to His commands. This love, as taught in the scriptures, conquers all.

- Eternal Life through Jesus: The message highlighted the importance of the testimony given by the Spirit, the water, and the blood, affirming the life and divinity of Jesus Christ. By believing in Him, we are granted the promise of eternal life.

- The Unbreakable Bond of Christ's Love: We were reminded that nothing can separate us from the love of Christ. This assurance enables us to face life's challenges with confidence and hope, knowing we are more than conquerors in Him.

- Living for the Kingdom: We are called to live lives that reflect the ultimate victory of Jesus, with our actions and testimonies contributing to the grand narrative of God's eternal glory.

- Love in Action and Truth: We were reminded that genuine love is not just expressed in words but through righteous actions. As 1 John 3:18 encourages us, let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth.

- Our Identity as Children of God: He emphasized our identity in Christ, especially in the light of Easter, and challenged us to live authentically, resisting worldly temptations and embracing our divine affiliation.

- The Power of Sacrificial Love: The ultimate act of love, demonstrated by Jesus Christ's sacrifice, was highlighted as a model for us to foster within our community, encouraging us to put others' needs above our own.

- Resisting Deception and Temptation: We discussed the importance of being vigilant against the lies and temptations that can lead us away from God's path, and the necessity of relying on the Holy Spirit for guidance and strength.

- Community and Fellowship: Pastor Sandy brought to light the transformative power of Christian fellowship, urging us to actively participate in our church’s Be One Make One Groups where we seek to practice love selflessly. 

- Jesus Our Advocate: We learned about the role of Jesus as our advocate, providing satisfaction and reconciliation between humanity and God. His sacrifice is available to all, yet requires personal acceptance (John 3:18).

- Obedience is God's Love Language: Our love for God is best expressed through our obedience to His commands (John 14:15). This obedience is not a burden but a natural response to the love we have received from Him.

- The New Commandment to Love: The command to love one another, as taught by Jesus, goes beyond the Old Testament understanding. It calls us to love others as an extension of our love for God (John 13:35).

- Discernment Against Deception: John made a distinction between antichrist and The Antichrist who is a future political leader possessed by Satan who will deceive many. We were reminded of the importance of spiritual wisdom and discernment to recognize and resist teachings that veer us away from truth, as well as the significance of the anointing we all have through the Holy Spirit.

- Embracing Forgiveness and our Identity in Christ: The transformative power of forgiveness through Jesus and the comfort we receive in knowing that we are known by God gives us comfort and purpose.

In this message, we will see what makes Christianity unique compared to other religions, and how God's love for us is unlike any other kind of love in the world.

1. Bold Community: Drawing from the early church's example in Acts, we must intentionally and lovingly access the community and support provided by the Holy Spirit.

2. Koinonia and Community: Exploring the biblical call to fellowship and the "one anothers," we must overcome personal barriers to embrace the church as our family.

3. The Danger of Isolation: The story of Ananias and Sapphira serves as a warning against superficial involvement in the faith community and how isolation from the community of faith is plot of the enemy to attack the unity of the Body of Christ. 

4. Kingdom vs. Cultural Community: as believers we embrace interdependence over independence as we know that God chooses the members of the Body of Christ as it pleases Him.

5. False Doctrine and True Generosity: prosperity theology misuses the act of dropping money as the apostles feet and attempts to present godliness as a means to financial gain, but Barnabas, who demonstrated genuine generosity within the Christian community shows us holistic generosity and stands in contrasts to Ananias and Sapphira and the false doctrine of the prosperity gospel. 

6. The Heavenly High Priest: Barnabas was a Levite which reminds us of the priesthood and Christ in our High Priest who sacrificed His life to make us sons and daughters. 

We studied four different mechanics of prayer this week:

- Brought to God in faith (James 1:6).

- Open to God’s plan and method (John 16:23).

- Led by the Holy Spirit (Romans 8:26).

- Done constantly (1 Thessalonians 5:16).

There are essentially two types of boldness:

- Secular Boldness

- Spiritual Boldness 

As we meditate on having Spirit-filled boldness let's remember that Christ’s bold display of forgiveness should lead us to bold displays of faith. 

As we conclude our Christmas series for 2023, Pastor Gay reminds us that Jesus came to earth as the fulfillment of prophecy. And that means several important things. Most importantly, it means that Jesus is the promised Messiah who is the only one who can save the world.

To protect the oneness of the marriage couples MUST establish healthy boundaries with their parents.

- Relational – what level of access or influence will you allow your parents to have? This must be established dependent upon their spiritual view and ability to communicate.

- Parental – what do you allow your parents to say to your children? 

- Time – set boundaries around time, spending hours talking to your parents may be impacting your spouse in way that you’re unaware of.

- Communication – set boundaries on how you allow your parents to talk to your spouse and what you share with them. 

- Financial – make sure you’re not dependent or being manipulated financially by your parent(s).

- Spiritual – if you don’t share the same beliefs, you must set a boundary.

1. Doubters (Jude 1:22) – those who waver. 

2. Doomed (Jude 1:23) – those in hell fire.

3. Defiled (Jude 1:23) – those who are defiled. 

The Tactics of False Teachers and Enemies

- Partnership (Ezra 4:22) – offer a relationship. 

- Punishment (Ezra 4:4) – rejection.

- Payment (Ezra 4:5) – buy your loyalty. 

- Plot (Ezra 4:11-16) – scheme against you.

False teachers reject biblical exposition (Jude 1:8).

False teachers rely on themselves (Jude 1:9-10). 

False teachers rebel against God’s authority (Jude 1:11-13).

We must be aware of the teaching and character of false teachers because they lead people astray. In today's climate people can have millions of subscribers, the title pastor, prophet, or apostle and lead millions of people astray. As we continue our journey through this book, let's pray for false teachers to repent and people following them to find healthy communities of faith that preach the gospel.

While we need to fight against false teachers and their teachings it’s important to remember that contending isn’t separate from caring. In fact, we contend out of a heart of love for people are being led astray. Here are several ways that we contend for the faith:

Care for the Wounded (Jude 1:22)

Compassion for People Struggling (Jude 1:22).

Contend Against False Teachers (Jude 1:3)

Complete the Mission (Jude 1:5-7).

Commune with Believers (Jude 1:20).

Chase After Those that are Wandering (Jude 1:23).

Condemnation for Unbelievers (Jude 1:15). 

Let's be intentional about building ourselves up in the faith and warning people of the steps to apostasy from a place of love, not control.

Jude is going to tell us in two verses that we’re called, loved, and kept and that he wants mercy, love, and peace to be multiplied to his recipients and us because when it looks and feels like you’re losing you need to know that despite what it looks like, you and I win because He won!
