Emerson’s Investigative Project on Terrorism reviewed videos posted on the YouTube channels of Tamerlan Tsarnaev and his younger brother Dzhokhar A. Tsarnaev.

Both brothers had YouTube channels in the United States and in Russia. Emerson’s group reviewed about half of the 22 videos posted on the U.S. channel. The videos were viewed by a small number of people. One video received 5,000 views, another just 1,000 views.

Based on the content of the videos, which feature Bin Laden, calls to kill Americans, Jews, Christians and exhortations to establish a world-wide caliphate, it is clear that these message are not directed just at Chechens. “They are directed primarily against all non-Muslims and are very similar to the Al Qaeda videos we’ve seen in years past.”

On Thursday, just hours after the FBI released blurry pictures of the two suspected Boston Marathon bombers, CNN anchor Erin Burnett assumed the suspects were “stereotypically” white Americans and not linked to any foreign terror group.

It turned out that the suspects–Dzhokhar and Tamerlan Tsarnaev–are technically “white” as they are ethnically Chechen (although Dzhokhar recently became a citizen). But what Burnett, like many in the mainstream media who instinctively assume such acts are committed by those who look like Timothy McVeigh, was implying was that the suspects in the photos were white Americans who were born in this country.

“They are young. They’re white. They’re very confident. They kind of look like college kids,” Burnett said on the Thursday evening edition of her low-rated primetime show, “Outfront.”

Later in the show, when Rep. Mike McCaul (R-TX) mentioned that he knew the, “Justice Department has requested the assistance of foreign countries in terms of foreign travel” about the suspects, Burnett seemed shocked.

Last night, I watched the amateur home video of the shootout between Boston and Watertown police and the person referred to as “Suspect #1.”
I learned that there were something on the order of 200 shots fired during that firefight.

Think about that for just a moment. It took a dozen or more cops, who are trained professionals, who practice on at least a weekly basis with their firearms, to fire 200 rounds before he finally died.

Yet our politicians (at least here in New York, and some in Washington — as well as other places, I’m sure) are saying that the most anyone needs to have to protect himself from armed intruders is seven rounds in the magazine.

Ghastly, unimaginable evil:

A former abortion clinic worker has capped the murder trial of her former boss with testimony that she saw more than 10 babies breathe before they were killed. Kareema Cross is the final prosecution witness against Dr. Kermit Gosnell. She says she saw the babies’ chests move but was told by Gosnell they were not breathing. She also says she saw three babies move their arms and legs and heard a fourth give a soft whine. Cross says she was so upset by clinic procedures that she took photos and called authorities. A 2011 grand jury report lambastes state and city officials for failing to inspect the busy Philadelphia clinic.

What else is there to be said? A few more things, actually: This woman is the prosecution’s star witness, though she mustn’t be confused with another Gosness “nurse” — a 15-year-old high school student employed at the clinic. That girl was paid under-the-table to assist in macabre late-term abortions, all with zero legal training. Trial testimony has also revealed that Gosnell re-used disposable, unclean surgical materials, posing major heath risks to the patients that he wasn’t intentionally killing (via Ed Morrissey):

Members of Congress have expressed astonishment that the U.S. Army Reserve would use a training brief that slams Catholics, evangelical Christians and others and are demanding the practice come to a halt – now.

“Our nation needs to have an honest conversation about religious extremism and what we can do to avoid religious violence. However, labeling these major world religions as extremists is wrong and hurtful,” said a letter by Rep. Doug Lamborn, R-Colo., that was signed by dozens of other members.

It was addressed to Army Secretary John. M . McHugh at the Pentagon.

“We call on you to rescind this briefing and set the record straight on the Army’s view on these faith groups by providing a balanced briefing on religious extremism,” the letter said.

Despite the current Leftist attempt to spin the Tsarnaev brothers as deluded malcontents who figured out how to carry out a massive bomb attack by relying on social media, the FBI has different ideas. According to the Daily Mirror, the FBI is looking for a terrorist “sleeper cell” with as many as 12 members that may have trained the brothers to carry out their deadly attack.

The British paper describes an army of more than 1,000 FBI agents working round-the-clock to track down the cell members. Before they found Dzhokhar hiding in a boat, the FBI had already arrested a man and two women in connection with the violence. One of the women arrested may have been hiding in plain sight, because her BMW carried the boastful license “Terrorista #1.” People in the community probably thought she was just being cute. She wasn’t.

Donald Trump asked a politically sensitive question Friday after it was announced that the second Boston Marathon bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev had been captured.

Via Twitter, “Is the Boston killer eligible for Obama Care to bring him back to health?”

In a bit of instant karma, Tsarnaev is currently at Beth Israel Deaconness Medical Center where a dozen of his bombing victims are being treated.

Alas, many of Trump’s followers didn’t see the humor in this and voiced their displeasure.

The Boy Scouts of America bowed to pressure and called for an end to its long-standing ban on openly gay youth members Friday, but the organization intends to uphold its ban on gay adult leaders.

The BSA will submit a proposal to the roughly 1,400 voting members of its National Council at a meeting in Texas the week of May 20. If the vote is approved, “no youth may be denied membership in the Boy Scouts of America on the basis of sexual orientation or preference alone,” Deron Smith, the organization’s spokesman, told Reuters.

The compromise comes as gay-rights groups have demanded a complete lifting of the ban amid political support from both president Barack Obama and former Republican presidential hopeful Mitt Romney. Corporate sponsors, including drugs giant Merck, have suspended funding for the BSA, citing its discrimination against gay people.

At the same time some religious and conservative groups have pressed for the ban to remain. The organisation estimates that easing the ban on gay adults could cost the organization 100,000 to 350,000 members. The BSA was founded in 1910 and has 2.7m youth members and over 1m adult volunteers. The Supreme Court upheld its right to ban gay members in 2000.

Late Friday, the FBI finally admitted that it had interviewed Tamerlan Tsarnaev, the older Boston Marathon bombing suspect who was killed by police early Friday morning. The FBI reversed itself after the Tsarnaevs’ mother, Zubeidat, told Russia Today that her son had been monitored by the FBI on Skype, and actually spoke with him “every step of the way.” She said, “They used to come [to our] home, they used to talk to me … they were telling me that he was really an extremist leader and that they were afraid of him.  They told me whatever information he is getting, he gets from these extremist sites… they were controlling him, they were controlling his every step…and now they say that this is a terrorist act!”

CBS News correspondent Bob Orr said that the FBI conducted the investigation into Tsarnaev after requests from a foreign government – likely Russia — but could not uncover any ties between Tsarnaev and any foreign terrorist entities.

CBS reports that the FBI likely ran a background check, including foreign communications and overseas travel. He was finally interviewed personally by the FBI.

This is the latest in a pattern of late intelligence from the FBI. They missed the boat on 9/11; they had a bead on Major Hasan Nadal prior to his terror attack at Fort Hood; they even interviewed Carlos Bledsoe, man who murdered a soldier at a recruitment post in Little Rock, Arkansas in 2009.
