Other than the state of Illinois's is the new model of political corruptness and that Mr. Obama's new policy direction is as clear as mud, there is something much more interesting happening. Case in point, today I had a colleague of mine at work mention the new stimulus package Mr. Obama is working on. Eager was the tone as the thought of 'free' money being given away. Noticeably like Mr. Obama, my friend only stated how awful the Bush administration was, and that big business was the only friend of George Bush. I wanted to reference one important fact that my esteemed colleague failed to mention, the company we work for is part of that big business. Secondly, I wanted to discuss another issue. Would he go to someone without any financial means and ask for a job or would he go somewhere where he would be compensated for his laborious toil? Most of Mr. Obama's supporters, not all but most, have no real idea what an Obama administration is going to do other than the tired phrase 'Change'. I am curious as to how my good friend will react when he notices a significant tax increase. Maybe he will think it is good, but his dreams of becoming filthy rich will take much longer under Mr. Obama as those who have steady work and have drive to succeed will be the ones who pay more than their share of the load. Charity begins at home, but don't force anyone to pay for the lame and lazy...but wait..that is how Obama plans to 'Change'. Good luck to the USA, we're going to need it.

Georgia Secured, Let's Get Minnesota Next

Finally some good news for the Republicans, Saxby Chambliss took Georgia with 58 percent of the vote. Now the Democrats will not have their filibuster proof Senate, something that has put the fire under the Republican base. With Georgia solved we are still looking at Minnesota and can only hope for a quick answer there as incumbent Norm Coleman takes on the former SNL sketch writer turned comedian turned author turned broadcaster now turned politic an Al Franken. The fight has been and still is tough. Coleman has vigorously fought off attacks from the Franken camp which has been fuel funded by the Moveon.org and other liberal machines. Chambliss has been in a month long duel with Democrat Jim Martin. The Georgia airwaves of both radio and TV have had a series of negative attack ads going for after Chambliss with unprecedented fury. To my friends, colleagues and the residents of Georgia, a heartfelt congratulations for the Chambliss win. Now we need to have Minnesota in our thoughts and prayers as the contested race starts its final approach, and with Norm Coleman the one at the helm.

Fresh New Faces, Or Old Recgonizable Ones?

The Obamaessiah is in the process of naming his cabinet post and as many might have guessed, there really isn't much change in his picks from the last Democratic presidency of Bill Clinton. We are seeing some familiar names in the muck of it all. Former Secretary of Energy Bill Richardson, has been named the new Commerce Secretary. Former advisor to Bill Clinton in 1998, Rham Emanuel, will be the White House Chief of Staff. Then you have Hillary Clinton as the new Secretary of State. Wow! Mr. Obama, you really pulled it over the American people. The platform of 'Change' was really a smoke screen of pushing the agenda forward. There has been some criticism of Mr. Obama for not bringing fresh new faces to the table, but in some cases I couldn't really blame him. There aren't too many fresh new faces in Washington to take the reigns and move the country ahead. Reason stems from that simple fact that most people see how ugly the politics have been that past 8 years. The constant blame President Bush for anything and everything has gone on far too long. Too many Americans are relying on the government to fulfill their basic needs. Now we have the choices for almost all of the Obama Cabinet and many come with some valuable experience but there are others who have a significant amount of baggage to lug around with them that can make them a target for the Republicans. Now the Republicans need to really take this information and carefully examine every move that these people make in their new found position and ensure that they act in responsible manner regarding the fate of the US. As most Conservatives are upset with an Obama victory, they can certainly take comfort in the fact that the same Clinton faces that will soon take residence in the Obama cabinet will most definitely feel the uncomfortable Conservative stare and cave under pressure.

America Got Change, Short Changed.

It has been a couple of days since the Justice League has been defeated by the Legion of Doom. (That would be the Republicans versus the Democrats for those unaware of comic book heroes) I suppose that most of America is ready to move forward and get the country working together. We are hearing how Obama wants to work across the aisles with Republicans and Conservatives on issues that need the most serious attention first. Agreed however, we did have the White House for 8 years and I cannot think of a time when OUR president was given much if any respect. It was a continuous fight with democrats in Washington. So in the spirit of civility and fair play, I recommend that we Republicans give the Democrats the same respect that they had given us during the last 8 years. Oddly enough the tables will quickly turn upon us in the media. We will be chastised for our beliefs and have them misinterpret them as we are just 'racists' incapable of civilized debate. With that stated we as the Republicans should be preparing for our daily skewering by the media and develop the think skin it takes to hold public office. I guess America did get change, short changed!

Thoughts And Prayers For The Loss

My posts have never been favorable for Senator Obama, nor in the future will they based on his political views. In Hollywood, CA and in Lexington, KY have both played the trick card but neither one was in good taste. The difference was simply a matter of party choice. In Hollywood a home owner decided to have a mannequin of Sarah Palin hanging by a noose from a roof. In Lexington, a mannequin of Obama hanging from a tree. By no means are either in anyway acceptable nor funny. Now comes the difference in reporting from the media outlets. While we have the likeness of Sarah Palin hanging from a roof, the media first called it a protest. Okay, I can live with that, but still do not agree with the act. Then yesterday on the UK campus we have media reporting of an Obama effigy. Effigy? Now that is taking sides now isn't it?
It is no secret that for years the media fascination with democrats have been rubbed in the face of conservatives. Now we have Obama who has been rather successful in his Pied Piper act and charmed the media once again. So why is it there can be a protest of a Republican VP candidate and an 'effigy' of the democratic presidential candidate? This just proves how the news coverage of the candidates is so very skewed toward a Liberal States of America.
Let's say the polls are accurate and November 5th we will be introduced to President elect Obama. Just as we had more than our fair share of Bush bashers and protesters, I am sure that there will be the same for Obama. Or will there? If anyone dares speak out against Obama, be it verbal or by effigy, the labels will fly and brands will be inserted. Racists. I see that the Secret Service will have its share of work cut out for them. Just as they arrived in Lexington to investigate the Obama effigy. Yes, they did respond to the Palin protest however, they didn't seem as concerned, or so the media reports. Much like Biden has said that Obama will be tested in his first 6 months in office, so shall the First Amendment. Hate crimes accusations will increase exponentially simply because the commander in chief is a black man. Never mind the words Hillary and 'spirited' debate, it will be racist citizens protesting a landmark event in the course of American history. Much like the past, weshould expect the double standard to fall upon the side of the liberal democrats. It is acceptable for them to protest George Bush, he is a white male Republican, protesting a black liberal democrat is criminal.

Tells It Like It Is!

Finally somebody who can completely support my position. It was only a matter of time before the inevitable question was posed, who was I supporting for the President? I answered in my usual tones with 'I am supporting the McCain/Palin ticket'. I knew what was coming, 'are you not supporting Obama because he is black?' I was taken back since I was talking with someone who I thought should have, by my estimation, know me better than to immediately go with the nuclear race option. There it was, the formidable term racism looming overhead. This is nothing new this year. One could be assured that this very conversation is and will be the prominent topic discussed across this nation. The reason why? Many European Americans are simply stunned at the idea of being labeled racist becasue they are not voting for a candidate who is black. The democrats don't want to hear that several do not want to vote for Obama because they completely disagree with him on practically every issue facing this nation. They just want to focus on his race and that is why votes will not be cast in his favor.
Just as I was taken back by the very accusation of such a ridiculous statement, the only recourse is an answer uttered back with the same flawed ideas. With that said I have done some research and have come up with a few helpful responses when faced with the claim that not voting for Obama is indicative of being a racist.
1. Every time someone votes for Obama, God kills a kitten.
2. You have judged my by the color of my skin and not the content of my character. Shame on you.
3. I know you are but what am I? (childish but it works)
4. Because I prayed, and God told me to vote Republican.
5. Oh yeah? Well you molest small animals. Prove me wrong.
6. Obama is not my homeboy.
7. fo shizzle my nizzle (just sounds odd, throws them off course)
8. At least I am not an idiot.
9. Takes one to know one.
10. Don’t transfer your white guilt to me. I was never a Democrat. My Party was the party of Lincoln, abolition, and emancipation.

The Voting Booth Should Be Color Blind

The closer to the the completion of this election the better a majority of the US population would feel. This is by far the most disturbing election for a number of reasons, the length of the campaign trail, the lack of REAL candidates on either side of the aisle and lastly the hype that both sides have been promoting. Last week we saw another one of those election moments that will remain the talk of the election no matter the outcome. Much like the Dukakis tank photo op which has outlasted his importance in the world of politics. This time it wasn't as moment frozen in time, it was a verbal faux paus. Not from Joe Biden, but from the Pennsylvania Senator Jack Murtha. Murtha stated that Western Pennsylvania "is a racist area", and then he tried to back pedal and correct the gaffe. He then say what he meant to say was that "Western Pennsylvania was really redneck". Now I am no Rhodes scholar but are either of these statements appropriate? My question once again is who is really putting emphasis on the issue of race in this election? During the Pennsylvania Democratic primary (which is partisan based, only Dems can vote) the exit polls asked if voted for Obama and if not what was the factor. 1 in 6 said they voted against Obama because of his race. This issue should really bother everyone for the fact that I believe that most Caucasians I feel harbor no racist inclinations at all. If Obama does not successfully get the reins of the White House, the racist fingers will be pointing to every white individual.
Now the other interesting idea presented is (yes once again another poll number) in a recent poll of black American voters, over 94 percent say that they are voting for Obama because he is black. So why the importance? Simply stated that the race card has been an issue for the Democrats, be it used simply for blame, or to just keep mentioning that his race is the issue in the event of a loss of the election to stoke the fire of modern racism in America.

The Top 10 Percent Are The Only Patriots

Recently in Seattle, WA, VP hopeful Joe Biden preached to his mutant followers another sermon, this one describing how Obama will 'be tested' on the world stage. He further pointed out he current economic crisis as well as the war in Iraq and Afaghanistan will be how the world judges Obama. Interesting to note that all issues already have Obama history attached. Obama was in favor of the deregulation of Fannie and Freddie, look how popular that has been on Wall Street. He mentioned our military was in Afghanistan 'air raiding villages and killing civilians' and lastly, we have Iraq. Yes, he voted agaisnt the war and subsequently some of the funding for the military.
Biden continued how things might seem unpopular but they will 'have to have the faith' that they do now in Obama. The unpopular decisions are more likely the wrong ones. I can only hope that the American people remember the sage like words of Biden if Obama is elected and then everything that conservative has warned about come to fruition. Remember taxes, the 16 month time table for surrender, and botched government health care. With all that said, Biden wants the American people to continue to have faith in the Obamessiah knowing that he is the savior to the nation and the world.
His tax proposal will be the first to hit the nation. The top 10 percent wage earners will have to burden even more of the debt (currently they are responsible forover 75 percent of all tax liability) and the lower 50 (responsible for less than 7 percent tax liability) will be not also be paying no tax, but getting $500 to $1000 refunds. Obama has said that he wants to spread the wealth and Biden has said that it is patriotic to pay taxes. I suppose the only patriots will be those in the top 10 percent of wage earners. As for the rest of Obama test results, well only the world will be able to judge. If Obama is elected, it will be the first time in my adult life I will not be proud of my country.

Mensa Members Attend The Premiere

The premiere of Oliver Stone's latest political fantasy film 'W' opened last night. And as with all movies with the subtle tones controversy, this was no exception. You did have the Hollywood elitist out in full force giving their own opinions of the Bush presidency, and none of which were favorable. As one blogger reported, "looks like a Mensa meeting outside the premiere'. I could not have said it better myself. So once you obtain your SAG card, you are simultaneously enlisted into the DNC. Oliver Stone enjoys making films of political controversy. Films about Nixon, JFK, Vietnam and now President Bush. The only film that Stone gave favorable treatment of a president was JFK. Color me surprised, but JFK was a democrat and Stone sees like the majority of Hollywood elitist, liberals are good and Republicans are the root of all evil in the world. Each time you have some actor bashing conservative based principles, the talking heads of liberal think tanks arrive on news programs to defend their ideas. Recently I had to endure Sheryl Crow on Larry King, (which was my first mistake by actually watching Larry King) and her rants about the tax cuts for wealthy and the Iraq war. Ms. Crow, like everyone is entitled to her opinions, but much like the rest of the liberal elitists in the entertainment industry, she is not entitled to her own facts.

Nuclear Obama

Round two of the presidential debate was at best boring. Although it did have its moments, but I once again have to say that McCain could have done better. Obama was as he always is, poised and well spoken, but incorrect and misleading. Case in point would have to be his newest stance on nuclear energy. His favorable position indicates that sees the potential benefits, including the reasonable cost and it environmental aspects. With that said I do recall Obama having a completely different view on nuclear energy just about one year ago. Nuclear energy is a viable energy source, but so is clean coal technology, wind and solar power.
McCain has been what I like to term the all of the above approach. His energy policies would encourage multi level energy sources as a way to 1 - create a diverse market place for fuel which goes hand in hand with lower costs 2- helps create much need jobs for a solid economic stance 3 - makes the US a true power player in the new world of the Green Standard. The opposition has been seen as 'Big Oil' but that really isn't the problem. Most oil companies are currently involved with solid new technology that is Eco friendly. But is Big Oil the actual problem or could it be government involvement? The facts show that petroleum companies make less profit on their commodity than the US government is making just by its tax. Yes tax dollars go to interstate infrastructure, but our worst roads are far more better than many nations best. So the next time you have to endure losing the money you use to fill your tank, ask this, why is it that the government profits on each gallon are double what oil companies make.

Common Sense And Speedos

I can appreciate fashion and style as much as the next. With style and fashion there are some rules somewhere that usually are applicable. Recently during the course of my day I was exposed to something that I just could help but bursting out in pure unadulterated laughter. Clear your mind and allow me to paint the canvas with the image I was witness to. A woman who appeared to be about 57 but was most likely only 37, blond hair that was in need of a wash with white strands throughout and about shoulder length. The pants were your average sleep pant, the ones that are lighter than sweat pants, faded from repeat washings with the tweety bird design just barely visible. A lit cigarette in the left hand with a diet Coke in the other and not a tooth in her head. The shirt was black and written in white was the phrase "Don't hate me 'cause you ain't me". I just couldn't help myself and laughed till I cried. I didn't even bother to hide the fact that I was laughing at her. I know I should have used decorum and civility, but if anyone has the backbone and intestinal fortitude to wear such a shirt when they clearly do not fit the phrasing on the front deserves whatever hand is dealt. There are some things that do not go together by the very laws of good taste, common sense and human dignity; oil and water, obesity and speedos, and garlic at dinner before the first kiss.

Personal Responsibility Or Government Intervention

The VP debate in St. Louis has finally given Governor Sarah Palin the much needed respect that she has not been given by the liberal media. Several news organizations had wrote her off and had expected her to blunder her way through the debates and not be a serious broker. Although Joe Biden did show that his vast knowledge and experience on foreign policy made him a formidable foe, he didn't connect with the American people. The measure of a quality candidate isn't always the campaign political rhetoric that has been over played in the political arena for years, it the ability to gain the trust of the people whom they wish to serve. Yes, Biden has been around the Washington loop for several years, is he a bad candidate, no. He is just a political liability for the US in times when we need to ensure that the best days for the US are in front and not looking back. Obama/Biden administration tells us they can fix the partisan bickering in Washington. They can lessen the current economic struggles of American families. Their plans are nothing more than progressive liberal talking points with the bottom lines being nothing but increased government and redistribution of wealth. Palin reinforced the principles that made the conservatives what they are. We need less government, less taxes and to be a leader in the world economically, politically and socially. Put our faith in the places where faith is best served, with God and not with broken social programs that do nothing but over burden the American worker. McCain has never been the poster child of conservatism, but he does have proven track record of bi-partisanship. There are very clear fundamental differences from both candidates. Both, I believe want the best, but it is in the manner in which they are achieved. Either with conservative theory of increased personal responsibility or with just simple liberal government intervention.

Obama, The Organizing Czar.

The United States has been fighting the Global War on Terror for 7 years now. We have taken on the evil men guided with the premise that Allah will bless them for destructive acts of violence. This is nothing new to us, we have taken on evil benefactors before with great success. Our history is full of circumstances mired in adversity, met with strength followed by triumph. Not too long ago the US had another evil empire, remember the Soviet Union? The nation whose government tumbled under the pressure to conform led by the great Ronald Reagen. Since the 'official' end to Soviet born communism and the Cold War, the US has been playing nice with Russia. Going so far as to consider them in some cases Allies rather than enemy.

Now we come to the economic factor. Russia has attempted to venture into the capitalism version of economics and did not fare well as the world can attest. Then President Yeltsin was seeing trouble brewing in the former Bloc nations and their succession from the beloved mother land wanting to stand on their own two feet to create a better way of life, was the ultimate snub to their former keeper. President Yeltsin took the very broken country and attempted to form a success story. He tried and did not have marked victory. The people of Russia spoke up and enter former KGB agent turned President, Vladamir Putin, takes the center stage. His popularity soared and for good reason. He knew the dark history behind the old Iron Curtain and took his knowledge and banked on it. He was younger and had moderate success in business during the capitalism rush. The people were making more money, their image was improving around the globe and they were once again serious players on the world stage. His eight years gave him street credibility. Here is the only problem as I see it. Russia should still be a major concern for the US and not disregarded as a has been super power. For the US to just blindly look away at Russia and not have serious concerns is not good foreign policy for the future security of the planet. The population of Russia is younger and full of new ideas that, if not proper harnessed, can create another revolution. Historically Russia has kept a level of instability that depending on what day it is will determine which way the pendulum will swing. The biggest concern is what type of revolution are those grassroots organizers starting. Here's an idea, Obama has a proven track record of community organizing, maybe he should put his skills to a use that will truly be a positive impact. His title will be the Organizing Czar.

The Obamesssiah

Four years ago several of our leaders spoke out on Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. We had comments from both sides giving direct support for the programs and others indicating that without the proper oversight regulations that we would be facing 'the modern Depression era with much more responsibility to burden the taxpayers'. At the end of the the day we had several prominent democrat leaders stating the leadership of Franklin Raines was strong and the 2004 Office of Federal Housing Enterprise Oversight investigation on the accounting practices was just another political witch hunt. So almost 4 years to the day both Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac went into conservatorship under the FHFA. Interestingly enough we now have the Speaker Pelosi rushing to save the ill fated business venture. The investigation had already shown the numerous accounting flaws and subsequent actions that the government needed to respond to as to avoid the current financial crisis. Here's the really good part, guess whose leadership was responsible for implementing the controls? You guessed it, the liberal controlled House and Senate. Although both major parties have some level of responsibility, the democrats seemed to make light of an official investigation that, if followed the recommendations, could have prevented this devastating financial position now facing the American people. Wait a minute, maybe that is why the Obamessiah is going to save us from certain peril.

Freddie, Fannie And The Infidel

Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac start the banking decline and the governement in its wisdom, decides that it is going to bail them out of trouble. Just great. To add insult to injury we have Iranian President Mahmood Ahmendinjead spouting the decline of western culture and explicit finger pointing at the US. Essentially reminding the nations of the world of the Great Satan, the Infidels we are and our lack of understanding for their fascist regimes. It should come as no suprise that the US is evil, after all we only defeated other supreme leaders Hitler, Hussein, and the like. How dare western ideology of freedom and capitalism be levied to all nations, giving value to all human life. So guess what? Like other freedom loving persons I will proudly wear the label of infidel if it means that I stand on the side of the US even if we do happen to be wrong from time to time. At the end of the day the qulaity of life and the broken governement we do have is much more solid and consisent than that of suicide bombs and the belief that Holocast was a myth as the mad Iranian has indicated. All things being equal, Ahmendinjead is not qualified to give advice on world affairs to anyone especially to the US. Let's face it, we should have taken a more permanent action against Iran back in the early 80's when we had the chance. Hindsight is 20/20.

Jason Bourne Is Very Afraid Of A Disney Film

The world was introduced to Alaska Governor Sarah Palin less than 30 days ago and since her formal introduction into the realm of National politics there has been a relentless pursuit of attacks against her. Many are from the liberal staple of critics, but then there are others who in my own estimation would be wise to keep quiet. It is no secret that celebrities generally fall on the left side of the political scale, and I suppose they are compelled to voice their expert voice of reason. Case in point, Matt Damon in a recent interview noted he was "troubled" by Gov. Palin citing her lack of experience and he compared her nomination as vice president to that of a bad Disney film. Mr. Damon has been awarded an Academy Award, but does that make him qualified to be a commentator on the national political stage? No, but being a citizen does. With that said, Mr. Damon, as does the rest of the Hollywood elite, understands that although they may just wish to be a average citizen their statements carry considerable weight with the ill informed public. "If Jason Bourne is afraid then I should be as well". (For those ill informed citizens who do not frequent the cinema, Jason Bourne is a character made famous by the actor Matt Damon) Celebrity status under any particular genre seemingly makes artists, athletes and entertainers instant experts on any subject from foreign policy to local political options. Opinions vary, I am one who prides my opinions based on ipso facto information. Although I have been wrong before, I can admit my faulty doctrinal beliefs when the occasion arises. I don't want to seem an overtly harsh critic of Mr. Damon, but I could only hope that those Hollywood elites understand that while they possess the public attention in tabloids and in their vein of entertainment, they should be careful not to ostracize the other part of the public who do not harbor their ideology.

9/11

In remembrance of 9/11. As a local reporter admits, 'Generally the average American could care less why the nations in the EU think however, with the US being the superpower we are, our president is the leader of the free world'. I happen to agree with some exception. Most countries around the globe do receive a great deal of foreign aid from the US, and depending on the outcome may very well be the complete end of those funds or at very least a significant decrease. Both major candidates have advocated the decrease of funding overseas, but if Obama truly wants to improve the image of the US, nothing says 'we love America' better than a fat check of American taxpayer dollars for whatever it is that a particular country wants financed. McCain hasn't given too much detail about his foreign aid that goes out, but he has previously stated that we do give much every where and need to focus on American soil.
I remember several years ago just prior to the Gulf War, the US was in the process of forgiving a multi billion dollar debt from Egypt. The only real problem about that issue was the fact that while the US was wanting to exhibit superpower status, our military, who was actively preparing for action against Iraqi occupied Kuwait, wasn't qualifying for hazard duty pay. (Usually entailed an additional 100 dollars per month) At the time I suppose it was more important to forgive than pay was what my take was back then. Several military officials stepped up to the plate to make absolute certain that our military was going to be compensated (I remember it well) for our contribution to the global efforts to eliminate Saddam Hussein.
At the end of the day, everyone, including our global allies, are as interested in the outcome of the current election as the American people. We the taxpayers are concerned about our money and its uses, our allies are concerned about our money and its uses.

RNC Resumes in MN

The RNC officially started yesterday, but the majority of the convention was suspended due to hurricane Gustav. The Republican VP choice, Sarah Palin the Governor of Alaska is now on the ticket with John McCain. The one big issue she will have in common with Obama is the lack of experience. The liberal supporters will now use the experience issue that conservatives have leveled against Obama. Now Palin does have the advantage in that she was running a state, albeit a low population one, but one that plays a significant role with energy policy as well as environmental concerns with the ANWAR region. Other sources of contention that we can expect are her strong family and pro-life choices. She is a mother of 5 with 1 serving in the military and her youngest has Down Syndrome. Her background makes her more of a real person than that of Obama and Biden. The democratic nominees are more of the same, both attorney's, both senators, Obama with under 1 term and Biden with several (6 I believe), both males. The Hillary supporters are slowly crossing the stream to Obama/Biden, but you have to wonder if they have just the hint of a gleam that with Palin as VP that women have to feel good about that irregardless of their political affiliation.
