The king of Nepal also traditionally known as "maharajdhiraj" i.e. king of kings or great king were from shah dynasty .These kings used to serve as head of state and monarch from 1768 A.D. to 2008 A.D until they were abolished by the 1st constituent assembly on 28 may,2008 A.D ending the 240 year old rule .The kingdom of Nepal was founded on 25th September,1768 A.D. by Prithvi Narayan shah, king of Gorkha.

Important contributions /Major achievements:He was the first one in the line of kings to start and establish the base for unification campaign. Divya Upadesh(Divine counsel ) to his descendants.Victory over Kathmandu valley ,Nuwakot and Makwanpur.Build nine storey Basantapur Durbar and seven storey Durbar ,the Ranga Mahal and Tilanga house in Nuwakot.

2. Pratap Singh Shah:

Life span :1751-1777(age:26)
Reign started:11 January ,1775
Reign ended:17 November ,1777
Father/Mother: Prithvi Narayan shah/Narendra Rajya Laxmi
Family:Shah
Important contributions /Major achievements:He instigated war with Sikkim but lost.He began the tradition of having a pillar(linga) in Indrajatra and organized the conference of Sanskrit scholars attended by 12 different countries.

3. Rana Bahadur Shah:

Life span :1775-1806(age:30)
Reign started:17 November,1777
Reign ended:8 march ,1799 (abdicated)

Important contributions /Major achievements:The famous Dharahara and Sundhara were built during his reign .During his rule Nepal's border was extended from Kashmir to Sikkim,and from the Himalayas in the north to Agra, Bengal and Bihar in south.

4. Girvan Yuddha Bikram Shah:

Life span :1797-1816(age:19)
Reign started:8 march ,1799
Reign ended:20 November ,1816
Father/Mother: Rana Bahadur Shah/Kantavati Devi

Important contributions /Major achievements:Anglo -Nepal war fought with the British. Sugauli treaty of 1816 signed from both sides.

5. Rajendra Bikram Shah:

Life span :1813-1881(age:67)
Reign started:20 November ,1816
Reign ended:12 may ,1847(abdicated)
Father/Mother: Girvan Yudh Bikram shah/Gorakhsya Rajya Laxmi Devi
Family:Shah
Important contributions /Major achievements:Slavery abolished.Various economic reforms introduced.Various Kot massacre,Bhandarkhal massacre and Alou massacre which gave rise to Rana regime.

6. Surendra Bikram Shah:

Life span :1829-1881(age :51)
Reign started:12 May,1847
Reign ended:17 May, 1881
Father/Mother: Rajendra Bikram Shah/Samrajya Laxmi Devi

Important contributions /Major achievements:renovation of Swayambhu stupa. Abolishment of witchcraft from Kathmandu to Birgunj and Bhaktapur to Thankot were built.

Important contributions /Major achievements:Automobile was introduced to the country.High court and colleges were established.Nepal was recognized as sovereign country. Sati system was abolished.Nepal took part in the world war in the favor of British.

8. Tribhuvan Bir Bikram Shah:

Reign ended:13 March ,1955

Important contributions /Major achievements:End of the Rana regime.Democracy was brought to the country.Also known as 'father of nation'.

9. Mahendra Bir Bikram Shah:

Important contributions /Major achievements:Nepal became a member of UNO (United Nations) and diplomatic relationship with different countries were established.Introduced Panchayat system where the king had direct control over cabinet and people.

10. Birendra Bir Bikram Shah:

Reign started:31 January ,1972
Reign ended:1 June ,2001 (assassinated)

Important contributions /Major achievements:He announced Nepal as a democratic country in 1990 and then a new constitution in 1940.The 20 year health plan was executed and a new education plan was introduced. Panchayat system was abolished and a multi-party system was established.

11. Dipendra Bir Bikram Shah:

Reign started:1 June ,2001
Reign ended:4 June ,2001 (declared brain dead)

Accused of royal massacre in June 1,2001.King for the shortest duration in history of Nepal.

Important contributions /Major achievements:He was crowned twice ,1st in 1950 during Rana regime and again after the death of Dipendra. Important figure in Mahendra trust for nature conservation and has worked alongside the world wide fund.Last Shah monarch.

India passes its citizenship amendment bill 2019

The bill originally proposed in the Lok Shaba on 9th December, 2019 by current ruling majority party Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)'s presdient Amit Shah that amends the Citizenship act,1955 to make illegal migrants who are Sikhs,Hindus,Buddhists,Jains,Parsis and Christians (non-Muslim communities) who entered on or before 31st December 2014 from Afghanistan ,Pakistan and Bangladesh eligible for Indian citizenship. Previously under this act, an applicant must have resided in India during last 12 months and for 11 of the previous 14 years.The new bill however reduces this 11 year requirement from 11 years to 5 years for person belonging to the same six religion and three countries.The bill however exempts the tribal area of Assam ,Mizoram,Meghalaya and Tripura included in the sixth schedule of the constitution from its applicability.

The union cabinet cleared the bill on 4th ,December,2019.It was passed by the Lok Sabha on 10th,Dec,2019 and subsequently in the Rajya Sabha on 11th,Dec,2019.The bill also provides that the registration of Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) cardholders may be cancelled if they violate any laws notified by the central government.

SAG 2019 (South Asian Games) summary

The 13th edition of SAG 2019 (South Asian Games) were held in the city of Kathmandu and Pokhara
from December 1-10, 2019.There were a total of 7 nations participating with the number of athletes being 2,715.The opening ceremony was held in December 1st and was officially opened by Bidhya Devi Bhandari (President of Nepal).

These games featured 26 sports with cricket returning after 8 years.Golf and Karate were the two sports added by the hosts as their choice.All events must include a minimum of four participating teams otherwise it will not be held.paragliding which was scheduled to debut,was removed as only two nations (Nepal and Pakistan) had registered competitors.

The results of the 10 days long(Dec 1-10) games came to an end and the medal tally were as follows:

The 13th edition of SAG came to and end with lot of drama and suspense.The audience presence and support made it more exciting.The host nation(Nepal) themselves had an amazing performance and result,ranking second in medal tally only to India.The next major multi-sport official event of 14th SAG will be held in 2022 in Karachi,Pakistan.

"OBESITY" an ever growing problem with no halt whatsoever.

WHO(world health organization ) defines obesity or overweight "as abnormal or excessive fat accumulation that presents a risk to health".In terms of scientific terms it can be defined as a condition where BMI (Body Mass Index )of an individual is generally 30 or more.To calculate the BMI of any individual ,divide your weights in pounds by your height in inches squared and multiply by 703,or,divide your weight in kilograms by your height in meters squared.

And find your current status from the following, as the result may be.Hope its fine. Hope.yes, because according to data provided by WHO worldwide obesity has tripled since 1975.And as in 2016 ,39% of adults aged 18 years and over were overweight and 13% were obese.41 million children under the age of 5 were overweight or obese in 2016.Alarming yet?

Most of the population in countries in the world have been found to be living in countries where overweight kills more people than underweight.

So why has this alarming problem still not touched our consciousness yet? well ,its because some people simply dont want to change the way it is,including you if it was not fine back then.Big fast food companies dont want us (people) to realize the fact that a slow poison is being inserted to our food everyday.Big app developer ,gaming companies and tech developer too dont want their customer(us) to realize that a big chunk of our time is being killed everyday.Doing nothing .Yes no matter whatever the feeling of achievement may be from social media and games ,we actually at the end of the day do nothing spending soo much of our precious time.They want us to stick to their products which as not only a causing inactive period but also hampering the very mobile nature of the human evolution itself.

However a sole blame cant be put just on giants only.Because no one sells poison until he expects a customer.We at last ,as a consumer and a responsible parents,guardian and citizen have a free choice whether to take things being served or not.But due to continuous brain washing from advertisements,pressure from peer groups, social media flexing ,total taste craving and random ignorance has made us so foolish enough to choose the danger and deaths of ourselves ,our loved ones and others.

The increasing use of trends,imaginary cool life, need of unwanted attention,easy availability of wrong things has been able to make a smart and intelligent species like humans to glorify their misdeeds,wrongful life and foolishness.

The first step towards better self ,for anyone is realization.Lets give a little more time to ourselves ,a little more attention to our health,a little more love to our life and little more care to our loved ones.At last no matter however old the proverb might be but the words "health is wealth" is equally relevant to our time as well.
