         <title>Vodka Tasting &amp; Food Pairing</title>
         <description>Tasting is Believing!

When it comes to offering you a taste of the American experience, Historic Richmond Town serves you the best. With Uncorked!, The New York City Chili Cookoff, Cheese School and Decker Farm we have the gravitas required for foodie fun. We also have all those years baking golden brown bread in a 200 year old oven to give us that traditional and eclectic flare. Now, with the extraordinary knowledge and expertise of our Executive Chef and Farm Manager, David Cavagnaro, we have extended your holiday celebration with a little more cheer.

Vodka. The quintessential cool libation that has captured palettes from east to west. In the past few decades, vodka has become the most popular spirit in this country. Some say it's tasteless, but in truth, it's full of flavor. You might be surprised at the subtle differences. You will also be thrilled to discover sophisticated techniques in pairing flavors with food. A little history thrown in to the mix rounds out an evening filled with good cheer.&amp;#92;n
We'll keep that holiday tree burning bright for you as you twinkle into the night!

<title>FOOD AND FUN AT HISTORIC RICHMOND TOWN</title>
<description>New York City’s only living history museum complex celebrates our freedom with demonstrations by skilled craftspeople, old-time games, a Pinwheel Parade—and the smell of something baking in the beehive oven at the Guyon-Lake-Tysen House. Cooking demonstrations are from Noon to 3:00 p.m. Visitors can enter a homemade pie in the Pie Baking contest, which starts at 3:30 p.m. There is no age limit! Participate in an exciting competition that pits ordinary citizens of today against our expert “colonial” cooks, judged by volunteers. Attend a workshop on how to make your own pinwheel. We give you all of the materials. You can then show off your masterpiece by joining in the Pinwheel Parade. After the parade, help to churn and get a taste of old-fashioned, hand-cranked ice cream. Additional activities include tours of the oldest schoolhouse in the US and 1720 colonial farmhouse, a blacksmith demonstration, and participate in a reading of the Declaration of Independence. You can also meet patriotic villagers from the 1800’s and earlier! Admission to this patriotic celebration is all yours for our regular admission: $8.00/Adults&amp;#92;; $6.00/Seniors&amp;#92;; $5/Children ages 3 - 17. Free for SIHS members.

Things To Know

Participants in the Pie Baking Contest should bring their pie no later than 3pm. Please label the flavor of pie you are bringing, but do not have your name on it. Judges are selected from the visitors of the day. A person may not be a judge if they know someone that is participating in the contest.
