Concert Review - Miyavi live in Munich 29th June 2008

Aloha folks,

it has been quite a while since my last posts. I was very busy in Munich taking up a new job opportunity that kept me totaly occupied for the whole week and left me unable to post here. Well now it is sunday and I have some free time so I decided to share my impressions of the Miyavi concert I was able to see while I was in Bavaria.

The location was the Backstage in Munich which seems to be the number one spot for visual kei artists to perform. Right after the security check I was handed a flyer for an upcoming Balzac concert in August. No idea if I will have a chance to see them too, hope I will be lucky. Funniest thing about the security check were the boxes full of confiscated items they had standing around. If you are thinking of sharp scissors or even weapons in there you are wrong. The only items I saw in all the boxes were .... well .... hairspray bottles hahahhahaha. Considering the audience -mostly young girls- it makes alot of sense. The only guys I saw were definetly their boyfriends, feeling unhappy that they missed the first half of the Europen Championship soccer finals between Spain and Germany which was broadcasted in a public viewing event approx 100m away from the concert. Exactly that event might also have been the reason for the concert to start at 7pm since Miyavi wanted to watch it too, at least he mentioned the game a couple of times and that he was going for Germany, who lost in the end as I found out after I got home from the concert.

The gig itself was completely unforgetable. I had some small doubts about the performance because Miyavi never really convinced me that he is a great vocalist. His guitar skills are hard to match and I was sure he wouldn't dissapoint me on that but now I can tell you that his singing does sound even better live. Now I make it sound asif Miyavi was doing it all alone which is a mean lie thinking of the awesome show the Kavki Boyz deliverd. Tyko and Saro located on the left n right side of the stage most of the time busted some very nice moves in sync with Miyavi in the center. Saro smiling from ear to ear all the time, sweating allover and filling the air with watery clouds as he clapped his hands. He was a pleasure to watch with all the joy on his smiling face.

As I mentioned in some previous posts I had a look at several concert reviews before my big day with Kavki Boyz. Something that amazed me was the fact that so many people were talking about the cute DJ and even so I really love DJ Hanger's music I didn't get the point. In my personal opinion he looks very cool, especially with his mohawk, but he isn't a role model for what I consider to be "cute". Noone ever mentioned his name though and at the concert I found out why, he isn't touring with them. Instead of DJ Hanger Miyavi brought Teddy Loid to Europe and yes oh my god what a cutey. The best moment in the concert for me was the Funky Monkey performance by Miyavi and Teddy only. Teddy beatboxing his lungs out and Miyavi kicking it with his insance slap guitar skills. I think I was standing there with open mouth not knowing what to say, it was too good to be true. Couldn't find a video of it with Teddy Loid, but I got the exact song performed with Tyko. Just use a little imagination :P

Miyavi and Tyko - Kimi ni Funky Monkey Vibration (live, beatboxed)

Another important member of the crew, whose name I was unable to discover, is Miyavis personal roady or stage assistant. Whenever Miyavi jumped onto his amplifiers he was the one kneeling behind them making sure Miyavi wont fall off and break his neck. He also had a very busy time making sure Miyavi was always in reach of a working microphone while climbing on the sides of the stage. And well, he was also the one who suddenly jumped onto the stage to carry Miyavi into the off like a baby, his guitar still around his neck. I don't know if he really collapsed or if it was just a show. It took him about 20 minutes to show up again in a new outfit and during that time Teddy took over and rocked the crowd with his remix show supported by Tyko.

Well overall it was an astonishing experience to see them all live and not just in youtube or on dvd. What I loved most was the variety of the whole show, so many different sounds, genres, styles ... all mixed together in a colorful cocktail that still felt as one whole homogene performance. Don't think twice if you get the chance to watch one of their gigs. You will never forget. It makes me sad I can't see them again on this tour before they are off for Asia again *sniff*

Better late than never I came across the news that Dir en Grey will release a new single named Glass Skin on 10th september 2008, which will also be the start of their upcoming national The Rose Trims Again tour across Japan. Other sites rumor that it might also be produced by Yoshiki, which is great, technically ... let's just hope they can keep up with the release date and that it won't steal Yoshiki's precious time working on the long awaited S.K.I.N. album.

News and Rumors - X Japan cancel their Shows in Paris, Taipei and New York

Sad rumors everyone,

because of health issues X Japan might cancel their gigs in Paris, Taipei and New York. Everybody hoping to see them live on the Japan Expo 2008 this July, including myself, might have to wait for Yoshiki's neck to fully recover. This hasn't been officially confirmed or denied by X Japan yet, but the news is already allover the net. I pray it isn't true, though I know that it is not the first time Yoshiki is suffering from these problems.

a couple of days ago a friend at HubPages dragged me into a brand new social network and got me addicted instantly. The funny thing is, aside from meeting alot of interesting people and getting them to read my blog I also earn money everytime somebody drops by at my profile. Sounds insane? Gidday everybody,

today I'd like to present you a great band -Sadie- playing a great song -Crimson Tear- in a video that invoked alot of negative reviews due to the fact that it looks so trashy and cheap, it seems to be spiraled all through time right from the 80's.

But I tell you what, I like it. I like the blood, the puking, the Kyo like style and the bad horror-movie-wanna-be directing. Oh yeah and I love the fact that the blonde chick is scared to hell.

You might consider it offending, scary or just plain bad. Well, tell me about it. The song still rocks and the video always manages to make me giggle. Give it a try, turn up the volume, make sure you have enough space and enjoy the oldschool metal sound with alot of weird screams and growls.

Based on that information a blogger can gain knowledge about what makes users happy and what will cast them away and therefor discover new strategies for more prosperous blogging fun.

I'm still right in the middle of the learning process myself, but I understand the importance and complexity of this and keep on reading about all that more and more in other peoples blogs.

One of the aspects about blogging I was quite suspicious about from the start is the whole monetizing hype. I was familiar with AdSense when I started my first blog and that was about it. When I browsed through bloglists I drowned in a flood of "make money" blogs and it felt weird because I expected to enter a world full of colorful topics, instead there were just a few everybody seemed to blog about. Today I think different. I guess after a couple of months of passing by blogs in which people talk about their earnings I felt a bit silly for not trying it myself. Okay so in the end I joined programs that actually pay you to write about specific topics and so I did. Since this site covers a very special subject of japanese media and I don't have too many users I don't get the big fishes like others, but I had the chance to gain some experience on that sector aswell. So suddenly I was not a fun blogger anymore, I was dealing with customer needs, trying to get some good deals before others did and so on, asif I don't have enough of that in my job.

Now take all my statements from above, the socialising aspects, the intelligence and the monetizing strategies and imagine a single service that combines all that. That's what SocialSpark is! I just discoverd another quite thrilling news about Miyavi, the visual kei and jrock god. As it seems he will be catwalking for the popular fashion house Laforet, which is bringing selected goodies from Baby, the Stars shine bright and Black Peace Now to Europe. Both brands are the absolute top of the gothic lolita fashion movement.

The event is going to be held on July 5 2008 at Paris, Parc des Expositions de Paris-Nord Villepinte.

Furthermore X-Japan announced they will be playing a concert the very same day at the Japan Expo! Bring X to Europe! Oh my goodness, this is going to be a wonderful visual kei and jrock summer here in europe.

I just browsed a couple of concert reviews of Miyavi's Kabuki Rock Tour, totaly mouthwatering I can tell you. I so hope I can make it to Munich on the 29th to see the show. Everybody seemed to be very very pleased with the show, the performance and the set list.

Band Feature - Girugämesh

Girugämesh are a very hot visual kei band from Japan, consisting of Satoshi, Shuu, Nii and Яyo. The name Girugämesh is derived from the name Gilgamesh, which was the name of the 5th king of Uruk, the city later known as Babylon, approx 2600 BC.

The band was formed in 2003 in Tokyo by Shuu and Nii who had been friends since elementary school. Girugämesh began playing gigs with their current lineup in 2004, until they were signed to record label Gaina-Japan. Their first major single, Kaisen Sengen was ranked #10 on the Oricon Indies chart, an instant success.

In 2005, Girugamesh toured allover Japan, after which they released their first live DVD, featuring footage from the tour, and after that, released an EP, Goku - Shohankei Enban.

In 2007, Girugamesh was signed to the European label Gan-Shin, making them one of the select Japanese rock groups to be distributed outside of Japan. The band then was part of a 9-band Japanese rock festival in Los Angeles, California called "J-Rock Revolution". They were part of the second night alongside Merry, D'espairsRay, and Mucc. Around the time of J-Rock Revolution, some of the performing bands released material on iTunes, including Girugamesh, making them one of the few Japanese rock artists to be available on the online music store. On this, Ryo has commented that "if you really like the band after the initial listen, you will buy the original CD."

In the summer of 2007, Girugamesh released an EP entitled Reason of Crying, followed by their eponymous album, Girugämesh.

In 2008, the band performed their first European tour, entitled "Stupid Tour '08", and after another Japanese leg of the tour, the Girugamesh will play at the landmark metal festival, Wacken Open Air as well as going on their first european tour earlier in the year.

Hi again,

after a couple of months of posting about whatever came to our mind we managed to get our blog approved in the Pay per Post network.

I first stumbled upon other people posting for Pay per Post in Entrecard. I didn't get what all the stuff was about. Why would people put advertisments, reviews and product placements into their diary? As you can see I used to be pretty clueless about the whole blogging scene until I started to give it a try myself. So now that I know what I can do with a blog it sounded more and more interesting to me to get a little payment out of my hobby. Pay per Post offers a very decent service for that once you get approved. In order to do that you need to fulfill a couple of simple requirements. Make sure you display the dates of your blog posts in your blog and get more than 10 posts in 30 days. That's all you have to do to get started. Of course a good google page rank will help alot too, but I don't want to get into that. You can easily find other people blogging about SEO rankings and so on.

Once your are done with that you can start browsing for business opportunities. The range seems to start somewhere around 5US$ per post going up into the hundreds for single blog post. During your first days you will only get the cheap options though as it seems. So in order to see how much our blog can get out of it, I submitted this place to the Pay per Post network. Let's see how far we can get here.

I'll keep you up to date with the latest developments about it.

And hi again,

since it used to be extremely rocking for the past few tracks it is about time to get a bit more electronic again. Here is one of my favorite songs from the crazy japanese people of Rudolf Steiner, Inner Cell or Schwarz Stein. It is a bit tricky to keep up with all their project, in the end it is always Hora and Kaya. So sad they are only doing gigs together on very rare and special occasions.
